Mike Manning deserves an Emmy for today’s episode. While watching today’s show I couldn’t help but to think…. Never think I’d see such a thing on a P&G produced soap.

The more scenes Vanessa has with Dani the more I begin to think the show is adhering to the viewer feedback about Vanessa/Dani being more believable as friends than Pam/Dani.

I think with Xander/Felicity, the show knew they were going to take Xander down a dark path and are using Felicity thing to try and show a more remorseful Xander, perhaps sowing the seeds of a deeper friendship (since Jack was his only friend and is no longer on the canvas). We could’ve done without the blatant PSA that set stuff off, but I don’t mind it as long as it balances out his character in the end. A very understated Fourth of July for Salem this year, perhaps due to the loses of Doug and John. However if there had been a Fourth of July event this year, a picnic with the Hortons and friends, I think it would have been the perfect setting to reveal the current owner of Julie’s necklace, with everyone in attendance connected to said character(Xander, Jack and Jenn included). JER would’ve milked the hell out of it, stakes and all back in the day.

So much for BTG for being one of the worst written soaps 😂 They gotta be doing something right.

W Yeah the Leslie reveal at Ted and Nicole’s anniversary party is definitely the best week of episodes this show has had IMO.

Timon is one of the stand out male actors on the show, hopefully he gets some recognition during next year’s award season. I wonder if and when we do get the entire flashback of what happened with Martin, will they have the same actor playing Kenny since the show is making it a point to highlight the fact that he’s had plastic surgery? Loving Allison/Chelsea/Madison, we rarely see such a story given attention on daytime like this.

Anyone find it interesting how the show keeps playing up Sarah/Rachel bond, considering Sarah thought Rachel was hers when she was born.

So that concludes Clenshaws tenure. The show is definitely in a better place than it was when he first arrived, and I liked how he understood the importance of the Beale and Fox family to the square. According to the Sun the new EP is installing a new Vic landlady….and I hate it.

Well I was a mess after Tuesdays episode. 😭

Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.

Yeah I’m one of the few, and trust me I hate Leo, but I didn’t mind his scenes at all today especially his ones with Jack. Another beat, while I know most of us hate it, that needed to be played regarding John’s death.

DH is really hitting all the right notes with this, even down to her hair. Like Marlena seems tired, exhausted physically and emotionally.

I was left kind of wishing this too. I couldn’t help but to think how Eileen would’ve acted said scene.

That final scene of Marlena playing John’s voicemail over and over again really got to me 😭

BTG: A- DAYS: B+ Eastenders: C

I liked the many interactions during today’s show. Brady vs EJ has been a long time coming. It’s too bad Abe wasn’t included in the scene at the hospital.

I’d watch the episode where Xander beats ups Philip and go from there. There’s probably been one or two dull episodes but the rest have been well written and put together, especially the Xander and Sarah showdown.

I think in the long run, Shelle is endgame. The current writers are just playing it slow and natural at the moment and I love it, it’s classic soap opera storytelling. I hope Cwikly and Ford are given time to write these two apart as well gradually working their way back to each other. The potential is endless with EJ and Jada thrown in the mix.

This the same Ryan Quan from Days? When did he join the writing team?

Gone are the days where at least once every week, a character would pull a gun on someone (Ron you really turned gun violence into a joke on this show)

I feel like the lawsuit storyline was resolved quickly because the show didn’t want to spring for more sets.

If this was a Ron episode, Sarah’s choking would’ve lasted almost the entire episode. Javi being revealed as a firefighter EMT and Sarah chastising Xander for wanting to go after Chanel/Sweet Bits the cliffhanger. I’m glad there’s actual movement and progression in these episodes. I vaguely remember Cwikly and Brash tenure being the same with their daily episodes
