  1. Terry Davis is a hoot and a half here. She played "Courtney" for years so she must have liked the turnabout.
  2. I mostly know her as breaking up Lenore and Robert. Wasn't she one of the ones that Harding Lemay was upset by as she left the show for her theater career rather than stay around?
  3. He's been saying that for over a year. His points pretty much were the Republican line, especially the huffing and puffing about Cuba. Media darling Marco always knows what to say and do to get the press fainting in the aisles. They care more about helping him than about anything else in this situation. Some things never change.
  4. @Mitch that part about "sugar in his tank" made me just about fall over. Now that I looked at it again, I think Charlotte Savitz must have been the one behind it, as I see that second Zak, the Lumina flunky who was friendly with Sofia and Lila. I think Goutman canned him almost immediately and he was turned into dust or something by Jordan Stark. (the actor went on to be the second Seth on OLTL when Brandon Routh fucked off). Never mind - Zak lasted into March, so 4-5 months more than I thought. I'm not sure why I forgot that.
  5. It's very concerning to realize just how reactionary so much of our intelligence community is. It's even more concerning that Comey seems to be so lost at sea. Hoover was a nightmare but at least he had a firm hand. I wonder how many of the same people who went after Hillary were in on this.
  6. If that's the case the sloppy way this was handled is even more baffling to me. Then again after Comey I shouldn't be surprised.
  7. I'm trying to remember if McCain supported Trump. I know he was critical of him but I don't remember him ever taking a strong stand once the general election came along. Well that's about what I expect from him...
  8. I agree. If they had more confidence in their material I'd agree even more, but releasing it and pretty much saying, "Some of this is BS and we can't actually tell you anything is accurate...but we're doing it anyway because it's our duty!" makes me extremely wary. Not just for this but also for the precedent it sets. I'd like to believe this will lead to, at the very least, real checks and balances on Trump by our nightmare of a Congress, but they'd probably just stay quiet as long as he promises to make all the "bad" people (anyone who isn't a rich white man) suffer even more than they already will. I also wonder if this last year has been so draining and traumatizing that the average person just tunes it all out now.
  9. There's certainly nothing wrong with gallows humor, but in this case the focus on that type of material just takes away from the seriousness of the matter. I don't mean here, per se, or on ever-worthless Twitter, but in pop culture at large, including our alleged "press." One of the biggest mistakes Ken Starr or whoever made the decision made with Bill Clinton's impeachment was releasing so many graphic details to the public, likely assuming this would turn the tides. Instead it was so tawdry and so ridiculous that it became easier for everyone to ignore the dangers in what he did because they could just joke about stains on a dress and a cigar up the hooha. The decision to release details that may not even be true about things like "golden showers" could very easily make the same thing happen here.
  10. It was not puzzling to me mostly because I saw most of it as ego-feeding. I still think it is, to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if some is blackmail, but I also think a lot of people want and need it to be that complicated because they need to convince themselves that the Russians ruined everything for them and Hillary would have won otherwise.
  11. Bonnie's been on for about a year and a half. I think she's the third companion to have been on the show - Louise Jameson had a role 20 years ago (she didn't care for it) and Mary Tamm (RIP) had a guest role in 2009 as a Russian con artist who ripped off the Slater father. Yes, Sharon married Phil, sadly. Even after she learned he'd had her beloved husband killed and that he was cheating on her with Shirley, because...that's just what Phil does, apparently.
  12. I get the feeling they pushed it out because other outlets already had and they were stealing the spotlight. I can believe it's true, but a lot of the details themselves sound cobbled together and mostly an excuse to get clicks and laughs, which is exactly what happened.
  13. Did they corroborate everything Buzzfeed put out that seems to have gotten all the attention? Otherwise it's mostly just been a clown car distracting from the real issue.
  14. So Buzzfeed put out a lot of documents and pretty much said "Oh by the way this might not be true." And that's what led to all this about Trump and golden showers? The guy who published them even outright said there's strong reason to not believe any of this? https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/jan/10/buzzfeed-publishes-donald-trump-russia-documents-ethics-questions Even if it is true, what an awful precedent this sets. If major news outlets decide to start being even more blatant in pushing outright lies about Democrats (as a number of them danced around with Hillary), how many are going to have a leg to stand on in criticizing it after they ran with this stuff?
  15. Can @slick jones or @Paul Raven tell me when Virginia Vestoff's first airdate was?
  16. Considering the damage they did to Hillary when she did nowhere near what he did in terms of questioning and undermining, it seems to me that these agencies are now just going rogue whenever they see fit. It's disturbing to me. This scandal already seems like an excuse for people to tell jokes rather than something that's actually going to have an impact. I have a feeling they would have done the same if she won as well. I don't think he ever should have been elected, but I don't believe Pence is going to be any better. I think he's become some kind of generic savior to many, when his record is just the opposite. If the stories from a few months ago are true, a lot was his fault (face-saving and whatever else), but many of the problems stemmed from some New York branch who repeatedly spent their time leaking and digging for info against Hillary even when ordered to stop.
  17. It would be a lengthy and ugly process to get there, and Pence isn't all that easy to control either.
  18. I think it was a promo that aired after the show. Eplin was very hot for most of his AW run, especially the '80s. I didn't mind him with the weight gain later on (he said it was from an ankle injury), and I do think he fit in on ATWT. It's too bad they wasted him. it was sad to see AW's legacy just erased like that.
  19. So glad Rita Simons tweeted this.
  20. That doesn't work. Is it the underwear photo? I always liked that.
  21. The thing with Bill is he's good at criticizing the plans of others, but his own plans were all over the place as POTUS.
