  1. I hope these people were as upset when Sanders supporters did it...
  2. What is "the real news media"?
  3. I hope you're doing well. It's nice to see your posts again. He almost hit Moira during an argument. Then he almost hit Kyle.
  4. More on colleges being targeted. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/13/arizona-schools-social-justice-courses-ban-bill
  5. He's on his own. Moira told him she didn't want to get back together with him. This was after they had sex (and after she had sex with Pete), so I imagine she will get pregnant... I'm still not sure when Cain hit Moira?

  7. This has a better quality version of one of Kyle's Vodafone ads that tried to spoof X-Files. It's about 2 and half minutes in, or a bit later.
  8. Yeah I don't know if this is the real her or not who said that about Jennifer Holliday.
  9. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6582838/cheryl-lynn-anita-baker-twitter-beef At least you can still enjoy this: It sounds like it's still going to be a mess. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/the-week-republicans-woke-up-to-the-reality-of-obamacare-repeal
  10. Louise is 15, underage, just like the young man in Florida. I don't think it makes her that either, but the way she described their relationship over the course of a year suggests he lived mostly for her and became very isolated to the point where he was willing to abandon his whole life and was left "howling" in a parking lot for her to be with him. To do this with someone who is, in Florida, underage, and a student of hers no less, is very dangerous and the way she described what she did and what they went through sounded like the type of language I would expect when people talk about things like grooming. I think whoever wrote that episode may have intended it as romantic. I find that disgusting as well. She took everything from this young man and then ran like hell. Michelle was 16 and tipsy or drunk. She had feelings for Den, which she always did. But she learned from her mistakes (most of the time, anyway) and tried to improve her life. She was a very realistic woman. She wouldn't have fallen into bed with an underage student because her husband was ignoring her. The whole thing is some sort of delusional fantasy of a woman's midlife crisis that was grafted onto the character. I don't mean to make you feel wrong about your opinion - I'm sorry if I do. If you see it differently that's fine.
  11. It's not in character for Michelle. She was a very intelligent, driven person. She wasn't self-destructive or deluded. The main comparison they tried to throw in was her marriage to Lofty, but she only married him because she felt pressure to give her baby a father. She appreciated his kindness to her, but it also stifled her. She never loved him, and she was always reluctant about the idea of starting a family with him. When she got pregnant with his child it was the last thing she ever wanted - a girl of about 18, with two small children, no education, a needy husband by her side for all eternity. She had an abortion as a result. That is a world away from Michelle spending a year or more playing games with a 16-year old and planning to run away with him, all because her husband wouldn't have sex with her and she felt old and fat. Her behavior is very dangerous and disgusting, and was basically excused with a naughty wink. Can you imagine if Martin was upset about Stacey not giving him sex, and seduced Louise, building up a relationship for a year and planning to run away for a year until the Mitchells found out? Then when it's time for aftermath, it's resolved by his telling Michelle he feels fat and lonely, and Michelle gives him a cheeky smile over how dirty he is? It would never happen. Yet that is what the show has done here. I find it shocking.
  12. The Wall Street attacks worked because they fit into a narrative of "What is Hillary hiding?" A narrative that the media had been hogwild over for over 20 years. Trump's own ties to Wall Street were either ignored, or the person who voted most on that issue assumed Trump could never be as compromised as she was, because of endless focus on her speeches and transcripts and where are the transcripts. A lot of the anti-Wall Street votes he got were likely also based on anti-Semitism. It's too bad that Bernie, who I imagine has faced that more than a few times over the years, did not realize the trap he was setting with his endless obsession over the matter.
  13. Considering how many people have spoken about such a thing so gleefully, it's not a big surprise if they think it could happen.
  14. Per AWHP he was engaged to her and they were split up by Willis Frame. He beat up Willis before leaving Bay City. I think that when they revealed her backstory with Ken they said she had been in foster care when he took her in, but I can't remember.
  15. I never said it was hateful. I said the people that were protesting were hatemongers (as CCB is herself), and people here said the show was pandering to them.
  16. Another gift he got from Bernie.
  17. When was this?
  18. @Khan I think Ben Carson is sending you a message. https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/carson-talks-columbo-and-neurons-at-hud-confirmation-hearing/2017/01/12/19b3bd80-d8fc-11e6-b8b2-cb5164beba6b_story.html?tid=pm_politics_pop&utm_term=.a44109065ada
  19. A number of people here said DJ was toned down because of backlash.
  20. Thanks. Just another reason to avoid a program run for hatemongers.
  21. It's lazy, self-indulgent wankery. I think they just decided, "It's Den all over again" and viewed this as clever. It annoys me a lot. And the whole ha ha about how if it were a man no one would care also annoys me. That's the type of comment that hurts women and hurts feminism. That a woman wrote it is sad.
  22. I think he may have been 16, not 17. I hate the whole "that happened years ago so this has to happen now." I hate it. It's "honoring history" and MAB. It's also what DTC did to wreck the show. I'm sick to death of it. It has ruined this show.
  23. Even if it's probably some control thing I'm glad she and Barron won't be in the White House or DC much. It's likely better for them and also means the media will have less time to spend cooing over dresses and designer tiffs
  24. The show also became extremely dark in his last months and I don't know if he realized it or had any control over what he was doing. Unfortunately this just careened further out of control under Valentini and Griffith/Malone and helped wreck what should have been a decent return.
