  1. The most shocking thing is that was that Flynn tried to be reasonable.
  2. There wasn't rioting in the streets, but there was a lot of criticism, yes. Mark is supposed to be about 20 years old.
  3. Ridiculous. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/trump-andrew-puzder-labor-234772
  4. How sad. I didn't even know he'd been ill. A gorgeous man, and while he didn't play Phil for most of the character's tenure, he's the one everyone is likely to remember, and cherish.
  5. Some of those comments are priceless. I'm still waiting to hear if she's going to give that money she took from shellshocked Democrats back...
  6. Promo for a Susan Lucci interview near the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64AwIu8cBcM
  7. The writing for women in general was much stronger in her first stint. Other than her time with Jai, I've never felt comfortable with a lot of her return material. I've never liked her relationship with Cain and I really don't like the way that her essentially being a child prostitute is used to demean her by other characters. I prefer the current stuff to her chasing after Cain but I can see why you're tired of it. I wish there were more balance for her. I haven't watched those (I have seen a few bits), but I imagine the Dingles of that era were popular as it was lots and lots of comedy and drama. After 2008, when it all got very silly and strange, Gavin Blyth took away most of the comedy and also broke the Dingles up into sections (Aaron/Chas, Cain/Charity/Debbie, Lisa/Zak/Belle/Sam, Marlon). They seem to have muddied this somewhat in the last year, with more Dingle family stuff and more comedy, but I guess it's still mostly true.
  8. The spinning of health care protesters as "violent" and "dangerous" goes all out (with lots of help from the media, I imagine), with one particularly craven (and from what I've read in the past, incredibly stupid) Congressman even trying to bring up Gabby Giffords. Funny how none of them gave a damn about Gabby Giffords when Palin and friends put her in their "crosshairs." http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/republicans-obamacare-protests-safety-234733
  9. I don't really mind the schemes, it's just that they get very repetitive and silly. I prefer when they focus more on her broken past and what made her what she is now. I do think that her first stint was much better (for me it's the reverse with Cain).
  10. I'm glad she's continuing to keep up a presence - and she's right. It's a shame it couldn't have been her...
  11. The last three appearances of Faith Dingle (sadly her 2000 appearances are MIA...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bfilze9R6NM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxddhQ8FEzw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oK0xyivIe_M
  12. Some of the Republican senators (one of them you may remember for regularly making a fool of himself on the international stage during the Iran deal) are now being honest about the GOP's real goals - it's not about illegal immigration, it's about cutting off nearly all immigration (presumably, unless you are rich and white, or exist to be a plaything of rich white men). Forget all that talk about party of inclusiveness and ideas that we somehow still hear too often - they want to close the gates and only lower them occasionally to throw some of the lessers to the alligators. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/cotton-perdue-bill-green-cards
  13. Anything Rosie gets involved in burns her and the people she's involved with so I wish them luck.
  14. They clearly don't like the guy and will be jettisoning him soon enough, presumably to be replaced by a generic blonde woman. Given how much Michael Che bent over backwards to try to belittle people who oppose Trump, and how lazy the anti-Trump material in general is (a few people pointed out they were just reusing old Cheney jokes in the cold open), you'd think Trump would be pleased, but clearly they don't see how much Lorne Michaels is still trying to give them room to breathe.
  15. Well there are thwarted attacks that likely aren't reported, but I always figure that's by the government's choice. I doubt that's what he meant though.
  16. 1915 Hungarian film found. http://hungarytoday.hu/news/102-year-old-hungarian-film-discovered-netherlands-91415
  17. Thanks for sharing that. A part of me wants to tweet to her that I loved her work as Laura but actors likely hate that type of thing, especially since she's now totally out of the business.
  18. I'm glad to know that people are continuing to indulge Chelsea Handler's endless need for attention (me included, admittedly). Throw a public tantrum over how you're not a Democrat anymore, get invited to a luncheon for Democratic members of Congress. I have no idea what she will teach them - show your boobs and hate Angelina Jolie? Good luck with that. At least Kareem Abdul Jabbar seems like a sensible choice. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/democratic-retreat-abdul-jabbar-chelsea-handler-234667
  19. So that's why Jared came back? How tacky.
  20. I was looking through old scans and saw that and it brought it all back. I can't remember if it looked that ridiculous onscreen but it really is like someone superimposed her face onto JFP's. I hated Tea at that point but I had to admire FL for being a trouper... I think HBS had the same haircut at the time but it sort of suited her more. I can't remember if anyone else had that slapped on their head at the time. I imagine Tim Gibbs would have worn it well.
  21. @marceline when I saw this I thought of some of your posts. https://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/dan-adamini-michigan-republican-apologizes-kent-state-comments
  22. Even after 20 years sometimes I'm still truly stunned that one day JFP just decided to give Florencia Lozano her haircut.
  23. I think it was down to all the backlash and mockery over Vicki's American accent. They generally thought viewers were idiots, as far as I could tell, so they likely thought viewers couldn't stomach hearing an American accent. They had a number of very anti-American comments, the one I remember most being when someone questioned Mark leering at his underage cousin, his reply was that they do this in the States. Until they sort out Michelle's return I don't know if there's much point in bringing him back.
