  1. Thanks for finding that. I guess I can see why she felt it was a bad experience. I have always wondered why the show made the decision to have her in peril with the Kenneth Castle mess - it was so rushed and seemed to come out of nowhere.
  2. Lots of nice new promo photos: http://www.walfordweb.co.uk/ww/castphotos
  3. I was reading through a March 1973 Radio TV Mirror and they have a brief interview with Carmine Stipo, who had just been cast as a lawyer on ATWT (he had previously played a paraplegic Vietnam vet on Love is a Many Splendored Thing). Jill Harman was cast is his wife, playing "a very serious 23 year old housewife with two children." Do you know anything about their characters, or what stories they had?
  4. They wanted a more attractive Faith. They did not like the awkward/neurotic Faith. To me Hawkins was wooden and kept tripping up on his lines. He was miscast for a charismatic and energetic figure. I also saw no chemistry with Jill, which was a problem with more than one Frank. If they'd kept him with Delia he might have worked better, as he and Ilene had more of a spark.
  5. At the time I loved Brooke, although the "bad Billy" story afterwards was kind of hilarious. For some reason I always forget the stuff with Allison and Brooke's father (Perry King). King was such a hot daddy, I didn't know why he was so misused on Melrose and then Titans.
  6. I would have liked the story more if it wasn't so rigidly plot-driven. I never believed that Dimitri and Maria would have had sex, and I thought it trashed his character. He was written so horribly for the next year that I assumed he was going to be killed off (which I think he was if McTavish hadn't returned), and I always felt Dimitri had much more potential as a character than Edmund. The baby swap stuff made more sense to me, and had some of Susan Lucci's best work, especially after her miscarriage. I also hated seeing Skye used as a plot device for that, although it brought out the best in Carrie Genzel.
  7. I really liked Natalie's appearances - I thought the last scene with Harold was very moving and understated (and also kept a surprise from viewers). It made me choke up. I also thought her scenes with Janet were very good, and with Tim. I just dislike the ghost stuff when it's obviously being used to make up for bad story decisions (all of Ghost Dixie's appearances).
  8. Santa was Broderick. I think this was probably a Disney mandate to try to make the show more fun. I enjoyed the story, at least when it moved away from dour overall Laura doubting Santa and became more about Myrtle. I loved her cameo as Mrs. Claus.
  9. Flash back to ten years ago on Inside Soap: http://www.insidesoap.co.uk/inside-story/the-inside-soap-vault/ Meanwhile, Patsy Palmer is saying she has tried out for an American drama and will leave Eastenders if she gets it. While I can't blame her, I do kind of wonder if she is looking for a reason not to return.
  10. Was there some AMC/Santa Barbara crossover I missed?
  11. This is great. I didn't know Sadie was close to the Lords. I've read a little about Wendy, and seen a photo, but didn't know her story.
  12. Thanks for posting these. I guess Edna was the first of her kind on AMC, and a prototype Opal. I wish I could see David/Ruth. It seemed like they had something of a following.
  13. July 24, 1979 Digest.
  14. It was for After Dark. Side/ass. I first saw that years ago and misremembered as being more, but still very good.
  15. I have a SOD interview on this too, somewhere, when I can find it.
  16. For a second I thought you were posting the other photo! (obviously you can't) Everything with that kind of makes me wish they'd make Mark the character a model/actor, hungry for a break, maybe bisexual. Imagine the feuds with Erica. A story with Tom and Erica having a child could have been very interesting, especially when he also had a child with Brooke. Erica would try to be a good mother just to spite Brooke. They would turn the talent show into a warzone, with Enid tut-tutting the whole time.
  17. Zainab's debut: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGAW9uiPmFA&feature=related
  18. And then the OLTL DTR segments ended up being the strongest, especially compared to GH, which was panned by Michael Logan. Erika Slezak runs the gamut of her range in this wonderful clip - a little overwrought, yet heart-tugging all the same. They somehow manage to make Delilah look a bit rough. I think this was when Shelley Burch was having all the eating disorder problems.
  19. For her many faults I do think MMT was very invested in Erica and her past - unfortunately it was sometimes not in the best ways (to say the least). I still prefer that to a lot of the material Erica has had directly before or after most of MMT's recent runs. I know this may be down to vanity or whatever but I am so glad AMC never had Erica deliver a late in life child. While I would say this works more often than not (Kim, Reva) or is neutral (Rachel Cory), it would have been a disaster for Erica.
  20. He has such great cheekbones, just beautiful - and like a lot of the most gorgeous people he can sometimes look haggard in one shot and unbelievable in the next. I wonder if they'll even remember him. I guess there's no point in hoping for any mention of Nick Davis.
  21. Thanks for taking all the time to share these with us. That Faith story was truncated because they fired Faith Catlin. The Irish passage stuff was so silly.
  22. At least her creation will probably live on all the way to the very last episode. I hope she'd be proud of that, although given the way OLTL treated her I couldn't blame her if she didn't care "atall." I wonder if this timeline was the last time Dorian would practice medicine until Dorian's brief stab at this again in 2004.
  23. I hope it sounded differently onscreen because otherwise Victor would have keeled over from the leaden dialogue. Nancy Pinkerton
