  1. Kevin Sacre is an absolute honourable mention for me, too. I don't expect much of my favourites to even place, so the results will be interesting. Glad to see we're both Emmerdale heavy. Not a surprise there.
  2. That second clip was mesmerizing. I've never seen the actress in anything, but she certainly sounds superb. Those vitriolic joyful screams about seemingly killing Mary and her unborn baby made her sound like a demon possessed. Amazing.
  3. I'm use to the large casts myself, but your question made me do a tally between all 4 shows. Hollyoaks: 52, EastEnders: 44, Emmerdale: 59, Coronation Street: 57. Based on episode quantity these numbers (give or take some guest/supporting characters and some children) seem to make sense. Personally, I would love all the soaps to only be two episodes a week with much smaller casts, so I can see how you would be overwhelmed.
  4. Carl, are you voting in the Walford Web favourite soap hunks (UK only). It is quite the undertaking to decipher. I feel so guilty for leaving others out, but you're only allowed 10/20, when I could have added tons more. Anyway, after much debate with myself here is who I finally settled on. 1. Ashley Taylor Dawson (Darren Osborne, Hollyoaks) 2. Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe, Emmerdale) 3. James Sutton (John Paul McQueen, Hollyoaks/Ryan Lamb, Emmerdale) 4. Ben Freeman (Scott Windsor, Emmerdale) 5. Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden, Emmerdale) 6. Tom Lister (Carl King, Emmerdale) 7. Rik Makarem (Nikhil Sharma, Emmerdale) 8. Bruno Langley (Todd Grimshaw, Coronation Street) 9. Mikey North (Gary Windass, Coronation Street) 10. Qasim Akhtar (Zeedan Nazir, Coronation Street) -- 11. Jeremy Edwards (Kurt Benson, Hollyoaks) 12. Michael Parr (Ross Barton, Emmerdale) 13. Aaron Fontaine (Sonny Valentine, Hollyoaks) 14. Sam Strike (Johnny Carter, EastEnders) 15. Ayden Callaghan (Miles de Souza, Emmerdale/Joe Roscoe, Hollyoaks) 16. Ben Hardy (Peter Beale, EastEnders) 17. Cameron Moore (Cameron Campbell, Hollyoaks) 18. David Witts (Joey Branning, EastEnders) 19. Chris Fountain (Justin Burton, Hollyoaks/Tommy Duckworth, Coronation Street) 20. Aaron Sidwell (Steven Beale, EastEnders)
  5. Hollyoaks is a crazy beast, but it's consistent in its way. For the most part, and I have said this before, the show has been on fire since Mercedes "died" and they fixed Grace into the great A list character she is today. I wonder if Joel will mention Bart at all upon his return. Kirkwood must have really hated him a lot to get rid of a McQueen, so I doubt it. I hope with his return, albeit recast, that means the awful creation of Spencer has basically been swept from existence. The only good scene he ever had is when Clare met him and asked aloud "What is actually wrong with you?" RIP Clare. I'll miss you always.
  6. This may be a minority opinion, but I will definitely miss Roxy. Whenever she got to be around other characters away from Ronnie I found her so likable, fun, and fascinating. She was never allowed to meet her true potential because they only ever saw her as a plot device for Ronnie. She's kind of how US soaps, DAYS in particular, think characters that are part of "supercouples" are useless without their other half and must be thrown out if the other one isn't around. If they had actually let her have her own life, independent of Ronnie and the Mitchells, she could have been fantastic. I'll miss her. As for Ronnie, the baby switch story was must see for me because of Sam Womack and her impressive must see performances. That made me love wacked out Ronnie more than most, and when DTC said that he would make her a full villain, I was ready to get my life. I loved her killing Carl, I loved her and Charlie together, both being upfront about their actions to each other and still standing by the other. She was one of the best things about the show at this point, and then it all went terribly wrong, along with the rest of the show. If they're going out together, I hope that doesn't mean Ronnie gets off scot free for her actions and they literally leave town together. Roxy deserves to not be tethered to her any longer. I also don't understand how exit announcements for Babe and Claudette have not yet been made. I fear for SOC's vision if he thinks any time and effort on them is worth any energy at all.
  7. Hopefully this works for you guys. https://uk.proxfree.com/permalink.php?url=s54aaHA%2FaGsaD5vHs0QZLcUclS%2FcUxrnNZwEMCiA0I9aeXwYKakXOV%2BaKYcXfY20GTrk1eWfdc05HAd%2FWXT29w%3D%3D&bit=1
  8. Amy is finally back where she belongs. Those little glimpses we've gotten of her for the past few years were crumbs I ate up hungrily. It's too bad Michaela isn't back in town to welcome back her best friend and make a pass at Barnesy.
  9. I can't help it; I'm totally excited for this surprise sister revelation. Amy Walsh was great yet again tonight. She's very good at bringing across how pained her life has been. Even those light scenes where she had no clue what a wedding portfolio was, had a glimpse of sorrow to it, knowing she never had someone in her life to let her in on something that most little girls take for granted. It was a bit of a hell yeah moment that Andy plead not guilty, but then I was met with instant dread knowing what that could mean for Rakesh. I look forward to when Chrissie starts to show more of her true colours. I hope Priya gets a chance to claw her eyes out.
  10. Two Hollyoaks legends. Come back home boys. Anytime.
  11. The current series producer, Emily Gascoyne, made a short film last year with him as the lead and I've been waiting ever since for his return announcement. I can see the show wanting to wait a few more years, until Charlie is a teenager, but I do hope his return is inevitable at some point. He's a legendary character for the show and rightly so, being he's the only male performer to ever win Best Actor for the show at the BSA's.
  12. Actors or people in the entertainment world having a responsibility for other people's actions has always befuddled me. It's a scapegoat for stupid people. It's just a sad world we live in where said stupid people tend to scream loudest. And scream they must, because they're banshees. On-screen, Joanne's continued existence is most puzzling. Shoe-horning her into being a bunny boiler again for another couple, when it actually seemed like she had learned from her mistakes somewhat is just strange. Maybe the show will surprise me, but she just seems like a supporting character who they're hanging onto for reasons unknown. Liam is such a p*ssy. Who is that afraid of a chicken? I hate birds and think they all look shade as, but that was embarrassing. Oh, Hollyoaks!
  13. Just like the Chris Fountain situation on Corrie, I think it's so stupid that these actors receive any disciplinary action at all. People need to get their head out of their asses and stop being so sensitive to things that don't affect them. As long as it doesn't affect their work and they aren't breaking any laws, they should be able to do whatever the hell they want. Sure people have every right to criticize, but this is his instagram account. At the end of the day, if you don't like it, unfollow him and move on with your life. That's what someone who isn't a pathetic troll would do. Poor Duncan James. It never occurred to me that what he was going through was so serious. It sounds awful. I'm excited to see him on Hollyoaks, a place I can see him fitting in wonderfully. Superficially, it'll be a treat to see him be treated as a true Hollyoaks hunk. The man has one of the best bodies I've ever seen. Glam Amy deserves it. She's come so far.
  14. Whoever did Louise Marwood's make-up today needs to be fired immediately. Woof!
  15. Carl, DigitalSpy is going to send you to an early grave. You must stop going there, at once! Other than Tracy being the wrong woman for David, I really don't have a major problem with any of the stories right now. I was really sceptical about Cain/Charity, but the way it all played out this week impressed me. I'm happily surprised the show is writing it as Cain and Charity being the awful couple they truly are together. They play off each other so well, but never as a true romance. I still remember that incredible episode during Blackburn's era (a man whose regime I detested), where the shoe was on on the other foot and Cain wanted Charity, but even she knew then that he only ever saw her as a dirty whore. I wish I could find it online. I do have to remember that McLeod inherited this aspect of Charity and Zak/Joanie, so I'm giving him leeway on those fronts to see where he goes. Having Belle's drama become paramount in the latter story is a smart move. May she ruin the wedding in fantastic glory. I was completely enthralled by all the Gabby drama recently, too. She was so mean, so cutting, but I never hated her. They walked the line with her fury, rejection, and pain with excellence. I also hope they stick to keeping Liv as the more rational one. It's a nice contrast, and making them true friends was such a refreshing move. I also never want another instance of Liv's shop destruction. I never want to see EastEnders at it's worst in the Dales ever again.
  16. I always get nervous when the show introduces a real house set. Nothing good ever happens in them.
  17. He's always been a favourite of mine, even at times when most people wanted to see the back of him. This will be a huge loss to the show for me, and he's already filmed his exit scenes, so it's going to be a struggle to adjust. The Sun article hinted he'll get an open-ended exit, thankfully. Plus, for some reason, like Ryan Thomas/Jason Grimshaw, this feels like just a temporary goodbye. I have faith Andy will be back in the dales at some point. In the meantime, I'll have to tell myself that I watched this show for years with just Andy/Victoria, so having it now be just Robert/Victoria for the Sugden clan will have to do. Hopefully, the writers will take more of an effort in strengthening their relationship. The recent episode where Robert returned to town, but never went to see how Victoria was after being attacked, and the fact that he still hasn't showed any sign of caring, is infuriating. I will say, it is encouraging to see Victoria have a point of view for more than a couple episodes. That hasn't happened since Gavin Blyth took over and decided she was worthless. It's just discouraging that Robert is chained to a Dingle. And though it's petty, I hate that I've lost so many of my favourites in recent years, but not one damn Dingle shows any signs of getting off my lawn. Even though I can enjoy them at times (mostly away from each other), when I think of the grand scheme of things, and how much more incestuous the show becomes when everyone but this family leaves, it gives me no pause to say that I would nuke this family as swiftly as possible if I could. (sans Queen Charity, of course).
  18. Not going to lie, my grade 8 self was hooked on the panic room story. I feel like Guza's GH was great only if you were tuning into the show for the first time, but after a couple years watching his work I noticed the retreads and backed away, never to return.
  19. She already knew by that point that he slept with Bernice. It pays to watch everyday. She already knew by that point that he slept with Bernice. It pays to watch everyday. Uhhh...excuse me...I DO watch every day. I guess I just didn't know that Chrissie was aware they'd slept together. P.S. Sorry about multiple posts-this site is a technical challenge on an iPhone. Everyone falls into the post snafu on this site. Anyway, if you do watch everyday then it I do wonder how you missed the scene where, in a picture taken by Holly, Andy was caught with another woman. Chrissie hearing the phone just clinched that the woman was Bernice.
  20. She already knew by that point that he slept with Bernice. It pays to watch everyday.
  21. This new chapter of Nico's story reminds me of a great British film starring Thora Birch and Keira Knightley called 'The Hole.' I just looked up the film (to make sure I spelled Keira's name right) and as soon as I saw Daniel Brocklebank was listed as part of the cast I instantly remembered his part of the film. Strange how his Corrie arrival never gave me a sense that I knew him from somewhere else. Knowing she would debut in the fall, I was still hoping we'd get a little glimpse of Jude's return. Still, looks like the show will continue on the great path they've been on since at least November 2014. I've missed Amy since the day she left with during that awkward Marquess mess. Barnesy is just an added bonus. It's too bad he's not back for good, at least not yet.
  22. With the news of Tracy's father coming aboard and with the speculation that he may also be Vanessa's father, does anyone else think he could end up being Chrissie's father as well? I think Marlon and Carly will surprisingly work well together. I'm glad they dealt with that random hanging thread that was Marlon/Harriet from a while back.
  23. I never cared about Buster because he was chained to a family I've never wholly liked. If only the rest of them could follow. Except for Lee, for Carl's sake alone. If this leads to Phil/Shirley, it gives Sean O'Connor an open route to fixing Kathy and Sharon. I'd surrender Shirley in a heartbeat for the latter two any day, especially since she's mostly been a pathetic sad sack since I started watching back in 2010. Let's just hope O'Connor is aware of the problems with both and wants to rectify them just as much. August is going to be a long month in Walford.
  24. I watched him on New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street. I'm so happy for his success. Best thing is, he can really act, too. He got some major stories during his soap years, (murder cover up, and suicide attempt among them), and he never disappointed. He's set to be the biggest import from my soap, and I couldn't be more thrilled.
  25. Ah, my last full season network show. It's the right time to end it. Season 4 was probably the weakest, but I never felt the show struggled too much with quality. However, with the introductions of Kai and Jo and then Mama Salvatore, the transition after Elena was seamless when it could have gone horribly wrong. Kudos to the TPTB for giving me a totally escapist show filled with the prettiest of pretty people. It was a blast.
