BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
I hope to see Vivica on the show one day as well. My other big hope is Victoria Rowell in front of or behind the scenes. It's going to be exciting once things are up and running and we can look forward to cast additions and story previews. I can't wait until they launch and we get into the swing of things.

I don't blame her either. If you need the money and are willing to phone it in, stay, but if you have a chance to leave, take it. Fallon was a great character in the first season and as soon as season 2 started they removed everything that was interesting about the character. The Fallon of seasons 2-8 was a ridiculously hysterical heroine with very little appeal.

That new promo was excellent! I love how they've kept dropping stuff at a steady pace since the first promo. They're doing a good job of pacing themselves, building awareness and building excitement. Whatever happens in February, I'm completely confident in their ability to promote this show. It'll be up to the viewers to show up but it's clear they know what they're doing and are invested in promoting the show. One thing I found interesting about the trailer were the multiple examples of location shooting using the Assembly facades. I hope that is a regular thing. Doesn't need to happen every episode but it does open the series up and modernize it which will be important to draw in a new audience. I love the fact that they were actually able to play a car crash which typically that is almost impossible for a soap to pull off. Those little touches add so much to these shows.

The Doctors Discussion Thread
I gave up because it's so hard to watch now. I wish at this point they'd just sell it to Prime or Tubi and let them upload it to their platform. They've tried but clearly can't develop a platform that is watchable. I had hope when I saw they had that live channel on Pluto. Hopefully something will come this year. I still remember where I left off and I'd love to finish the available episodes, but I'm not stressing myself out with their system.

I'm not sure if they'll do any of the late night shows, but I do see them doing the talk show circuit (Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Hudson, etc.). CBS Mornings is a must and since they've already been doing press days, that typically would be local news outlets and online outlets like TV Line. We also know The NAACP Awards will be featuring the show a couple days before it premieres and Errol just posted about a primetime special on CBS that will feature the show the monday before it premieres. The PR company they hired specializes in Black media so we should get some press there as well. I imagine they'll stick to the Duprees for most of the promo since they're the most recognizable faces.

"Secret Storm" memories.
Oh no lol. It wasn't $400 for one episode. It was a good amount of things including this SS episode. I do recall it being expensive for what I was getting but I would've gladly paid it if I could trust he was going to send me what I asked for.

"Secret Storm" memories.
I tried to buy this episode from the same guy over a year ago. I sent him almost $400 and he kept saying he didn't see the payment in his PayPal account. I don't know if that was true or if he was trying to get me to send it again but I quickly revoked my payment from PayPal and was able to save my money. I'm so sorry to hear others were scammed. I can't wait to dig into this episode! I never thought I'd get to see Secret Storm in color. I also am so used to watching the 50s episodes so I'm curious to see the evolution.

Primetime Soaps
I just watched the 919 Fifth Avenue pilot and I see what yall were saying about the production values. Even the way the scenes were written felt more like this was a soap pilot. There is no way CBS would've aired that in primetime in the 90s. I'm honestly surprised they even aired it as a TV movie. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad and it had a good cast, just clearly wasn't made for primetime. Now I'm even more curious to find info about the development to see what they originally intended it for.

I am with you here. He has proven he will run a show into the ground. The only reason I don't have a lot of smoke for him on BTG is because I feel like this is just a way for him to get "in" at CBS. I can't see his ego letting him stay in a BW position. I feel like he'll stay here a few months and transfer over to one of the Bell soaps.

As much as people hate Jamey, him eventually showing up on Beyond the Gates wouldn't be a shocker. Sheila Ducksworth was EP of Ambitions (which was originally pitched as a daytime soap) and he has history with MVJ. If she decides to hire him I wouldn't be upset about it. They did great work on Ambitions. Days has been dreadful since Jamey joined and he isn't HW so I don't put that on him. Sistas is much better since he took over so between than and Ambitions, I do see a bit of talent there.

Neighbours: Discussion Thread
I'm currently catching up on the episodes post-break and I continue to be impressed with how much I'm enjoying the show. I didn't trust with the cast changes I would but this season feels more confident and better paced. I feel like the first season had a lot of mini stories but this one feels more like an ongoing show and it's less plot based. They're really diving into the characters and relationships.

This is one of the reasons I kept hoping they'd film in Atlanta. LA and NYC just eat up the budget. These soaps have do have decent budgets but so much is wasted on where they film and the expense that comes with it. Meanwhile, they're at a brand new state of the art studio and have the luxury of space. They also seem to be able to have extras, likely another benefit of being in a more affordable location.

This was a lovely segment. Not only was it informative but I love that they took it seriously. It was so nice getting to see more of the actual show as well as the people helping bring the world to life behind the scenes. Looks like a lot of care is being given to this show being successful.

Primetime Soaps
All I've ever seen is that it was a 1995 pilot for CBS. I'll try and see if I can find more info about where it would've landed.

When waiting for a new show to premiere, it's always stressful and then it airs and you typically just get one episode or maybe a few if it's streaming. When I find myself getting impatient for BTG, I remind myself that once it hits we're getting 5 episodes a week with no break! The waiting sucks but once this is on the air we are going to be well fed! I cannot wait!

Knots Landing
As I was waiting for the show to be added to streaming, I bought the first two seasons on DVD to begin my rewatch early (perfect timing btw). There is commentary with JVA and Ted Shackelford and Joan did such an amazing job of preparing for it that I'd love to hear what she has to say on a podcast. The contrast between the two was so nice. She was able to provide details about the lighting, sets, directors and so many other things.

I'm sure that'll come but I do think it's smart to center the promotion around this family to give viewers a clear image to associate with the show and something they can remember. A bunch of different promos with the entire cast might not work in todays fast paced environment. This is also a marathon, not a sprint. They're leading with their name actors. Based on everything we've seen so far, they know what they're doing. They're promoting this show heavily in daytime, primetime and streaming. We know the cast has been doing press interviews as well. They seem to have a solid plan in place.

ARTICLE: Susan Lucci to Host ‘All My Children’ 55th Anniversary Celebration at 92NY; Kelly Ripa, Eden Riegel, Eva LaRue & Jill Larson Scheduled to Attend
It's linked in Errol's original story. You do have to pay to watch. Not sure if it'll become available for free in the future though.

I just finished watching this. It was a nice reunion and everybody got a chance to speak. Unfortunately, no talk about what could come of the future but they did briefly mention the Prospect Park version. They did a really good job of picking who would appear. I'd love to see them get a televised special with a few more people. Watching it reminded me of just how shocking it is that such an iconic show is no longer on the air. One of ABC's biggest mistakes was cancelling this show.

Primetime Soaps
I came across an interesting failed primetime soap pilot. It's produced by Paul Rauch and Steve Kent and written by Dominic Dunne. Looks like a mix of a crime series and a soap. Michelle Phillips, Noelle Beck and Denise Richards are all in the cast.

Melrose Place
I felt like Donna Mills role was a waste of her talents. She probably would've been better cast in Linda Gray's role on Model's Inc.

ALL: What are your lost soap media "holy grails" for 2025?
Bill Bell joined 7 months into the shows run so it would've been his material.

Jennifer Gareis posted on Instagram that she lost her home in the California wildfires. Considering how bad it is, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about this from more soap stars. I really feel for them because I know how hard they have to work for what they have without getting paid like their primetime counterparts.

It was mentioned on the SOD podcast that Days lost season two in a fire.
