ARTICLE: R.I.P. Treat Williams – ‘Everwood’ and ‘Chesapeake Shores’ Star Dies at 71
Best known for his starring role as Dr. Andy Brown on The WB’s “Everwood,” actor Treat Williams has died. He was just 71 years old. Williams was killed in a motorcycle accident in Dorset, Vermont. “He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off,” said Barry McPherson, Williams’ agent of 15 years, to PEOPLE. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.” Talking further about his client, McPherson said, “He was an actor’s actor. Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of the [sic] Hollywood since the late 1970s. He was really proud of his performance this year. He’s been so happy with the work that I got him. He’s had a balanced career.” While his identity was unconfirmed at press time by local authorities, PEOPLE notes Jacob Gribble, the fire chief for Dorset, Vermont, that “the crash happened on Monday around 5 p.m. on Route 30 by Long Trail Auto near Dorset, Vermont.” The incident involved “a single car and Williams’ motorcycle. Investigators believe the driver of the car was turning and didn’t see the motorcycle.” In a statement released to Deadline, the family says, “Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and was truly at the top of his game in all of it. It is all so shocking right now, but please know that Treat was dearly and deeply loved and respected by his family and everyone who knew him.” You can read the full statement below. A Statement on the Passing of Treat Williams It is with great sadness that we report that our beloved Treat Williams has passed away tonight in Dorset, Vermont after a fatal motorcycle accident. We are beyond devastated and ask that you respect our privacy as we deal with our grief. To all his fans, please know that Treat appreciated all of you and please continue to keep him in your hearts and prayers. The Williams Family With a career dating back to 1975 when he appeared in the film “Deadly Hero,” Williams ultimately made a name for himself playing George Berger in the 1979 film version of “Hair,” based on the Broadway musical. He earned his first Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal. Williams went on to star in several dozen movies for TV and the big screen, playing good guys and bad guys alike. In 2002, Williams was cast as Dr. Andrew “Andy” Brown in The WB’s “Everwood,” which followed a father who moves with his two children from upscale Manhattan to the small town of Everwood, Colorado. The series ran for four seasons and was written and produced by Greg Berlanti. The series helped jumpstart the careers of its younger cast, including Gregory Smith, Emily VanCamp (“Revenge”), Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”), Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy”), Justin Baldoni (Jane the Virgin) and Sarah Lancaster (“Chuck”), among others. For six seasons, Williams portrayed Mick O’Brien in the Hallmark Channel original series, “Chesapeake Shores.” In the series finale, which aired last year, his character finally married Megan (played by Barbara Niven, “One Life to Live”). Williams’ most recent credit was as Lenny Ross in a 2023 episode of the CBS drama “Blue Bloods.” He first appeared as the character in 2016. Note: The post R.I.P. ARTICLE: The CW Renews ‘All American: Homecoming’ and ‘Superman & Lois’ for 2023-2024 Broadcast Season
“All American: Homecoming” and “Superman & Lois” will return for a third and fourth season, respectively, The CW announced today. The former received a 13-episode order, while the latter received a 10-episode order. Greg Berlanti executive produces both series for Berlanti Productions. “We are thrilled to bring ‘All American: Homecoming’ and ‘Superman & Lois’ back to The CW,” commented Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment, The CW Network. “These series are two of our strongest performers across our linear and digital platforms with some of the most passionate fanbases in all of television. We are grateful to our partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions for their continued collaboration, and we cannot wait to get started on the new seasons.” According to Deadline, because of the reduced episode orders, each series will likely see a reduction in series regular cast members. Reportedly “All American: Homecoming” has nine series regulars while “Superman & Lois” has 12. Another budgetary reason cited is cost based on location (“All American: Homecoming” shoots in expensive California) and VFX (“Superman & Lois” requires lots of editing before new episodes premiere). Either way, this is a win for fans as The CW has been leaning into co-productions and reality fare as it presents its first fall as a Nexstar majority-owned property. A young adult sports drama set against the backdrop of the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) experience at Bringston University, where Black excellence is a way of life “All American: Homecoming” is centered around tennis player Simone Hicks (Geffri Maya), baseball prodigy Damon Sims (Peyton Alex Smith) and the diverse group of friends they have cultivated at Bringston University. A spin-off of “All American,” the series is from Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, with executive producers Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robbie Rogers, Marqui Jackson, and Lindsay Dunn. After years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, “Superman & Lois” follows the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever — dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Based on the characters from DC Comics created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, season three is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter, Brent Fletcher and Geoff Johns. ARTICLE: ABC Aired a Repeat of ‘General Hospital’ on Friday Pushing Originals Back by a Day
The Friday, June 9 episode of “General Hospital” was preempted due to ABC News coverage of the 37-count federal indictment against former President Donald J. Trump. The episode will now air on Monday, June 12, pushing all previously scheduled episodes back by one day for the foreseeable future. Courtesy of ABC News (via Screengrab) A repeat of the daytime drama series, originally aired Tuesday, March 1, 2022, was broken into for an ABC News Special Report after just 4:48 of the episode aired when “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir announced viewers would get to hear for the first time from Jack Smith, Special Counsel for the Department of Justice, who led the investigation which later prompted the unsealing of the federal indictment against former President Donald Trump and his aide Waltine Nauta. Courtesy of ABC News (via Screengrab) In the United States vs. Donald J. Trump and Waltine Nauta, Defendants (Case No. 23-80101-CR-Cannon/Reinhart), the South District of Florida indicted the former president after a Grand Jury found sufficient evidence to bring about charges, including willful retention, conspiracy to obstruct justice and false statements. Jack Smith, Special Counsel for the Department of Justice Courtesy of ABC News (via Screengrab) Speaking for just two and a half minutes from an undisclosed location in Washington, D.C., Smith outlined charges brought against the former president, saying, “This indictment was voted by a Grand Jury of citizens of the Southern District of Flordia. “I invite everyone to read it in full to understand the scope and the gravity of the crimes charged. The men and women of the United States intelligence community and our armed forces dedicate their lives to protecting our nation and its people. Our laws that protect national defense information are critical to the safety and security of the United States and they must be enforced. Violations of those laws put our country at risk. “Adherence to the rule of law is a bedrock principle of the Department of Justice and our nation’s commitment to the rule of law sets an example for the world. We have one set of laws in this country and they apply to everyone. Applying those laws, [and] collecting facts, that’s what determines the outcome of an investigation—nothing more and nothing less. “The prosecutors in my office are among the most talented and experienced in the Department of Justice. They have investigated this case hewing to the highest ethical standards and they will continue to do so as this case proceeds. It’s very important for me to note that the defendants, in this case, must be presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. To that end, my office will seek a speedy trial in this matter consistent with the public interest and the rights of the accused. We very much look forward to presenting our case to a jury of citizens in the Southern District of Florida. “In conclusion, I would like to thank the dedicated public servants of the Federal Bureau of Investigation with whom my office is conducting this investigation and who work tirelessly every day upholding the rule of law in our country. I’m deeply proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them.” Smith concluded his full statement without taking questions, in line with what was expected by the news media. Courtesy of ABC News (via Screengrab) A summary of the 37 charges can be read below: Counts #1-31 – Willful Retention of National Defense Information Count #32 – Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice Count #33 – Withholding a Document or Record Count #34 – Corruptly Concealing a Document or Record Count #35 – Concealing a Document in a Federal Investigation Count #36 – Scheme to Conceal Count #37 – False Statements and Representations Click here to download a copy of the full 44-page indictment. David Muir, Martha Raddatz Courtesy of ABC News (via Screengrab) Roughly 40 minutes after the special report began, ABC returned to regular programming with the aforementioned repeat episode of “General Hospital” airing in progress at the 45:05 mark. In the episode now airing on Monday, June 12, look for the following to take place: Sonny and Nina are interrupted. Finn questions Tracy’s story. Austin cautions Ava. TJ assesses a patient. Chase is caught off-guard. “General Hospital” airs weekdays on ABC. Anytime on On Demand or Hulu. ARTICLE: Molly Wolveck, Mom of ‘The Young and the Restless’ Star Kate Linder, Passes Away at 98 Years Old
Molly Wolveck, the mother of “The Young and the Restless” star Kate Linder, has passed away. She was 98 years old. She died at her home in Arcadia, CA on Thursday, June 1, 2023, a family spokesperson confirms. Born November 20, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, Wolveck was the only child of Henry and Esther Mandelbaum who owned a local dry cleaning store. Growing up in Pasadena, Molly met the man who would become her future husband, Ralph Wolveck, while on a trip to Lake Gregory when she was just years old. The two were wed three years later on March 21, 1943. The two worked together at the local Market Basket grocery store, but when Ralph got a job as an usher at a local theater, Molly spent her free time watching movies as a way to spend time with him. Later, she was instrumental in helping her husband start his CPA firm and which she helped run. Eventually settling in Arcadia, the two spent the next 70 wonderful years together until Ralph passed away in 2013. Known for their incredible work ethic, Molly continued to run the family business until she herself passed away earlier this month. Kate Linder (“The Young and the Restless”) Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS An avid fan of “The Young and the Restless” since the show’s very first episode in 1973, Wolveck was delighted when her daughter joined the show’s cast nine years later – in 1982, playing Esther Valentine. She was even more thrilled when she and her late husband had an opportunity to appear on the daytime drama series together as restaurant patrons. Molly made a second guest appearance on the show in 2017. Enjoying an active social life, Wolveck spent many nights at dinner or the theatre and was a familiar and welcome face at many Hollywood and arts events in Los Angeles and Pasadena over the decades. She could also be found cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, for which she continuously purchased family season tickets year after year which she bonded over with her son, Randy. Even in her 90s, Molly played tennis as well as golf. For her 70th birthday, she went skydiving. Wolveck is survived by her daughter Kate and her son Randy, and his wife Gina, and her 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and scores of nieces and nephews. ARTICLE: Daytime Broadcast Ratings for the Week of May 29-June 2, 2023
Due to the Memorial Day holiday, all daytime broadcast shows, except for “The Price is Right” and “NBC News Daily,” were coded as specials on Monday, May 29. As a result, ratings for the week of May 29-June 2, 2023 are (mostly) based on four days (Tuesday, May 30-Friday, June 2, 2023). Leading the pack again this week was “The Price is Right” (3.729 million / 4.251 million), which gained +76,000 and +82,000 viewers, respectively, over last week for each of its half hours. Also up week-to-week was “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.215 million / 2.608 million), gaining +33,000 and +112,000 viewers for each half-hour. “The Young and the Restless” (3.308 million) and “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.744 million) were down week-to-week, losing -39,000 and -73,000 viewers, respectively. However, in a rarity, only “The Young and the Restless” saw improvement over the show’s performance two years ago among Total Viewers (+142,000). Despite being preempted on Monday, May 29 due to NBC’s airing of the French Open, “NBC News Daily” (999,000) saw a small uptick week-to-week among Total Viewers, adding +29,000 viewers over last week. The show still averaged a very weak 0.1 rating in Women 18-49, the same as last week. “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.439 million) was up +110,000 week-to-week and was the only other daytime broadcast show to see an increase compared to its performance two years ago, gaining +23,000 viewers over its average in 2021. Meanwhile, “The View” (2.204 million) was up +3,000 viewers over last week while “General Hospital” (2.102 million) managed to stop the five weeks of declines reported last week, gaining +35,000 viewers over last week. “The Talk” aired repeats all week and is excluded from the rankings. What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of May 29-June 2, 2023 in Women 18-49 Rating, Women 25-54 Rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance last year (2022) and two years ago (2021), respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance breakdown in the demos, will be posted Thursday. Note*: Officially, rankings are sorted by the rounded figures released by Nielsen. We are separately providing the unrounded demos for informational purposes only. “NBC News Daily” year ago and two years ago figures are compared to the performance of “Days of our Lives.” Ratings for Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 were unavailable at press time. Households and Total Viewers for “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” were unavailable at press time. ARTICLE: REPORT: Wendy Williams Enters Wellness Center Amid Health Concerns
Former talk show queen Wendy Williams (“The Wendy Williams Show”) has been checked into a wellness center, reports Entertainment Tonight, citing Williams’ manager, Will Selby. “Wendy is at a facility doing her best to be her best. She’s taking it day by day,” Selby said to the news program of his client, who has been in and out of health facilities over the past few years. “And that’s another thing, too, does anybody even ask like, ‘How’s she doing? Does anyone even care… I feel like everyone just puts out negative information about her and that’s the focus. Why don’t we just stop for a moment and just say, ‘Hey, how is she? Is she doing OK today?’ Why is that not the focus? Why isn’t that what we’re talking about on a daily basis?” Reminding people of how much Williams has gone through over the years — the end of her long-running television show, her battles with Graves’ disease and lymphedema — Selby asked for critics and fans to show the beloved TV personality some compassion, stating, “Just understand that she’s a human being that’s going through a lot. She’s dealing with a lot and support her, please.” With her primary focus on her health, Williams is said to be looking ahead to the future and the next chapter of her life. “She’s only thinking about things that she wants to do in her life,” Selby points out. “She’s only thinking about Wendy 2.0 and her new chapter of her life, and the things that she wants to accomplish, and that’s our focus.” In an interview with The U.S. Sun, Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr. told the outlet that he believed his mother’s team is taking advantage of her and her wealth amid her battle with alcoholism. In response, Selby told Entertainment Tonight, “Taking advantage of her for what? To get what? To do what? I’m not here to brag, but I was doing just OK before Wendy came along and I insisted on helping her because she requested my assistance.” Pointing out that Williams is under court-appointed guardianship, Selby says there is no way he, anyone on her team, or anyone else for that matter could be taking advantage of her. He says, “Wendy is under a guardianship. Everything that she does gets approved by the guardianship. A court-appointed guardianship. So, no one, even if they wanted to take advantage of her — everything has to get approved by that court.” He adds, “So, any type of business dealings that we do, Wendy, myself and anyone — we have to get the guardianship to sign off on it. So how can anyone take advantage of her?” Williams hosted “The Wendy Williams Show” for 12 seasons in national syndication. During the 2021-2022 television season, the show’s 13th season aired without Williams in her famous purple chair for a single episode. Instead, guest hosts rotated all season. As a result, producer Debmar-Mercury decided to cancel the daytime talk show and replaced it with “Sherri,” a new daytime talk show hosted by Sherri Shepherd, who was one of many guest hosts stepping in for Williams during season 13. Ratings for episodes hosted by Shepherd performed the best. Note: The post REPORT: Wendy Williams Enters Wellness Center Amid Health Concerns appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. ARTICLE: Driver of Vehicle Hit by ‘General Hospital’ Actress Haley Pullos Suing Over Accident
More than a month since she was arrested by Pasadena PD for her involvement in an automobile accident, “General Hospital” actress Haley Pullos (Molly Lansing-Davis) is being sued by the driver of one of the cars she hit, reports TMZ. According to the outlet, a man named Courtney Wilder is suing Pullos, alleging it’s her fault he went to the hospital after he tried to swerve his vehicle to avoid Pullos who was driving the wrong way on a freeway offramp. In his claim, obtained by TMZ, Wilder “didn’t have time to react when he saw headlights coming his way and crashed head-on into Haley.” Wilder was later transported to the hospital in critical condition. Also referenced in the lawsuit against Pullos is her allegedly hitting a firefighter, yelling, “This is a $400 f***ing shirt!” when the responder tried rendering her care. Wilder was reportedly shocked to hear about the outburst by Pullos, claiming she cared more about an “overpriced shirt” than the “safety and well-being of the crash victims.” In the lawsuit, Wilder points out that Pullos should have stopped driving immediately after she ran into an earlier vehicle, which became a hit-and-run as Pullos sped away from that incident and would later crash into Wilder on the freeway. Wilder further notes that Pullos shouldn’t have even been behind the wheel of a car after “mixing alcohol with weed edibles.” At the accident scene, police searched Pullos’ vehicle and allegedly found weed edibles and mini-bottles of tequila. They later arrested the actress for felony DUI when she was taken to the hospital. Pullos allegedly reeked of alcohol, “had watery eyes and slurred speech.” Monetarily, it’s unknown how much Wilder is suing Pullos over. When reached for comment, representatives for Pullos had no comment for TMZ. On May 18, The Daily Mail reported Pullos was driven by her father to a Malibu detox and residential treatment facility. At press time, it was unknown whether the actress remained at the facility or if she had since been discharged. “General Hospital” has temporarily recast the role of Molly Lansing-Davis with newcomer Holiday Mia Kriegel (“Bull,” “Animal Kingdom”), who made her first appearance on the soap on Thursday, May 25. “Unfortunately, I was involved in an automobile accident and I’m doing okay, but I am going to need a little time to recover. I will be back as soon as possible!” Pullos told Soap Opera Digest a week before news of her arrest as a result of the accident became public. In a statement announcing the actor’s death at the time, then-executive producer Anthony Morina said of Douglas, “Jerry came to ‘Y&R’ in 1982 with an impressive resume of credits. ARTICLE: Kate Mansi On Contract at ‘General Hospital’
It looks like “General Hospital” is heavily invested in what’s next for Kristina Corinthos-Davis now that Kate Mansi has taken over the role. Mansi, who for years portrayed Abigail Deveraux DiMera on “Days of our Lives” and even won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal, has been placed on contract with the ABC series following her official debut during the Wednesday, May 24 episode, according to recent updates to the show’s end credits. The actress is listed under the contract cast just behind Jane Elliot who recently returned to the show as Tracy Quartermaine, and ahead of James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine), who traditionally leads off the recurring cast list that closes out the end credits. Lexi Ainsworth, who had played Kristina on the daytime drama series until her final appearance on the April 27, 2023 episode, had been on recurring status with the soap. Ainsworth herself won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Kristina in 2017. ARTICLE: Former ‘General Hospital’ Star Ingo Rademacher Loses Legal Battle Against ABC Over Covid Vaccine Mandate
Former “General Hospital” star Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jasper “Jax” Jacks) has lost his legal battle against Disney’s ABC over the company’s then vaccine requirement for employees, which has since been rescinded. Courtesy of ABC According to Deadline, “A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge agreed with ABC in that the actor’s opposition [to getting vaccinated] was based on health reasons rather than his religious leanings.” While noting a detailed ruling by Judge Stephen Goorvitch is expected in the next several weeks, attorneys for Rademacher had no comment for the outlet when contacted. Further, Deadline states, “…based on precedent, it is very likely the actor will appeal.” On November 8, 2021, it was announced that Rademacher had been let go from the ABC drama series along with co-star Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan; now Harris Michaels on “Days of our Lives”) after the two refused to get vaccinated by the Disney/ABC deadline, which was November 1, 2021. Rademacher’s final air date was November 22, 2021. During his final scenes, Rademacher’s Jax told his ex-wife Carly (Laura Wright) of his plans to leave Port Charles in order to handle some business in Sydney, Australia. “Look, besides Josslyn [Eden McCoy] and Alexis [Nancy Lee Grahn], I’m kind of on the outs with everyone in Port Charles right now,” declared Jax, eerily aligning with real-life as Rademacher received backlash over his controversial comment about the trans community, wherein he depicted transphobic sentiments in an Instagram post. The timing of the post and the responses that followed prompted ABC to officially confirm the actor was no longer employed at the company. “The fellow actor, #IngoRademacher, is mercifully no longer a part of the #gh cast,” commented Grahn on Twitter prior to ABC’s confirmation. Rademacher issued a public apology to Cassandra James, a trans actress who continues to play Terry Randolph on the soap opera, saying, “Cassandra, I apologize to you sincerely. I think you’re an absolute talent and you’re very beautiful as well. I don’t think a transphobic man would say that. I think you’re absolutely gorgeous, I really do.” While claiming not to be against vaccines themselves, Rademacher has long been vocal against vaccine mandates or “passports.” In an August 2021 post, months before Disney/ABC officially implemented its then mandate, Rademacher said, “If you want to get the vaccine because you have a fear of dying from this virus, talk to your doctor and decide. This is about freedom to choose what’s best for you. A huge percentage of our population have already recovered from COVID and have natural immunity, why does that not count? Please let that sink in. Taking the vaccine does not stop you from getting COVID, spreading it, or dying from it. Now would be a good time to be honest and start following the science.” In a memorandum of points and authorities included in a motion to quash an ABC subpoena filed by Rademacher’s attorneys last year, they pointed out the reason the actor was suing ABC in the first place. “[Rademacher] filed this action alleging violations of his privacy rights, unlawful religious and medical condition discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination,” the suit starts out, citing ABC’s decision in summer 2021 to order anybody working on a television show it produced to get a Covid-19 vaccination. “That meant, Ingo, as a cast member of the ABC-produced soap opera, ‘General Hospital,’ which he had been a cast member for 25 years, was required to receive a Covid-19 shot to continue working on the show or request a religious exemption,” the suit says, concluding, “Although ABC claimed to grant exemptions for sincerely held religious objections to the shot, it refused to accept Ingo’s request – without explanation. ABC then terminated Ingo’s contract to perform.” After a two-year break from the series, Rademacher returned to “General Hospital” in May 2019. He first joined the series in 1996 as the rich playboy who fell in love with model Brenda Barett (Vanessa Marcil). The actor also played Thorne Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful” and made an appearance in CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0.” Note: The post Former ‘General Hospital’ Star Ingo Rademacher Loses Legal Battle Against ABC Over Covid Vaccine Mandate appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. ARTICLE: Walt Willey Heading to ‘General Hospital’ as His ‘All My Children’ Character Jackson Montgomery
For the first time since “All My Children” went off the air in 2011, fans of the daytime drama series will find out what happened to Jackson Montgomery when his portrayer, Walt Willey, joins the cast of “General Hospital” next month for a brief stint. According to Soap Opera Digest, which first reported the news, Willey will reprise the role of Jackson when the character heads to Port Charles. This marks the second time Willey will have portrayed the character in another series outside of “All My Children.” He previously portrayed the character over several episodes of “The City” in 1996. In a post on Facebook, Willey confirmed his joining “General Hospital,” saying, “Been sitting on this one for a while but now I’ve been given the clearance to announce that ‘Jackson Montgomery’ is visiting Port Charles! I’ll be doing a few episodes of ‘General Hospital,’ due to air mid July. So excited to reprise my character and see and work with old friends!” He added, “I’ll keep you posted on any details. ‘Jackson’ in Port Charles…who would have thought it? Let me, and ABC, know what you think about it!” Willey’s appearance on “General Hospital” marks a reunion of sorts for the actor as he previously appeared in scenes with Finola Hughes when she appeared on “All My Children” as her Anna Devane character from 2001-2003. Other notable “All My Children” alums who have made their way to “General Hospital,” albeit as new characters, include James Patrick Stuart (ex-Will Cortlandt; now Valentin Cassadine), Michael E. Knight (ex-Tad Martin; now Martin Grey), Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee Smythe; ex-Hayden Barnes on “GH”) and Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery; now Drew Cain). Although specific storyline details have yet to be revealed, it’s understood that Jackson is likely to be providing some legal expertise, similar to the experience needed by Nora Buchanan (Hillary B. Smith) from “One Life to Live” in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Willey joined the cast of “All My Children” in 1987 and played Jackson Montgomery until the show’s series finale, which aired on September 23, 2011. In the final moments of the episode, Jackson tells Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) he will no longer stand by her and she can go to Los Angeles alone after she tells him she doesn’t want to marry him. Desperate for him to go with her, Erica runs after Jackson, begging him to listen to her. In the end, Jackson spouts the iconic line, “Frankly, Erica, I don’t give a damn what you need,” referencing the famous line from the 1939 classic film, “Gone with the Wind,” wherein Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) tells Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh), “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Upon hearing the updated line on “All My Children,” Erica again runs after Jackson just as JR Chandler (then played by Jacob Young) aims his gun and fires, leaving fans pondering who got shot – in the 2013 reboot it was revealed to be JR’s ex-wife, Marissa Tasker (Sarah Glendening). Prior to joining “All My Children,” Willey appeared on the soaps “The Edge of Night,” “Another World,” “As The World Turns,” and “Ryan’s Hope.” His most recent acting credit is as Gregory Ashford in the digital drama series “Tainted Dreams.” Watch a clip below of Jackson and Anna’s interaction on “All My Children.” Watch a clip below of the final moments from the series finale of “All My Children.” Note: The post Walt Willey Heading to ‘General Hospital’ as His ‘All My Children’ Character Jackson Montgomery appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website.
