DECEMBER 6, 2007-EPISODE #388: HELLO AND GOODBYE PART II


SALEM INN

Anna is in her suite packing her bags, hoping she is making the right decision. She tries to convince herself she is as Tony is not going to let up and there is nothing really keeping her in Salem anyway. She agrees she is making decision and finishes packing as the scene shifts downstairs...

To the lounge, where Tony is having a drink and thinking about his meeting with Anna. He then gulps down the rest of drink and says he just can't sit around and give her space. He knows she still loves him but something, or someone, is keeping her from admitting it. Tony leaves a tip and races off to Anna's suite...just missing Anna, who gets off the elevator with her luggage and walks down the lobby.

Meanwhile, Tony gets off the elevator and reaches Anna's suite. He finds a note taped to the door with his name on it. Tony opens it and reads aloud:

My dearest Tony,

I figured you would come after me eventually after I raced out earlier so I left this letter. I didn't just want to leave without telling you why I am leaving Salem so, quite simply, my reasoning is that I know you won't give up. I know you love me and I love you. I always have and always will.

It's not about that and, rest assured, that no one is poisoning my mind against you. This is all me. This is about the fact that I can't put myself through all the pain again, Tony. I don't want to be hurt and I don't want to hurt you. Please understand and please don't come after me. Please...just let me go. Do it for yourself. Do it for me.

Tony crumples the note in frustration and races off in hopes that he can stop Anna from leaving as the scene shifts to...

Nicole's suite as her cell rings. As she sips a brandy, she answers it. It's Orpheus, who tells her there has been a change of plans. He has just learned Anna is on her way out of Salem and they must act now. He orders Nicole to get to the airport and to buy a ticket so she can get through airport security and into the terminal . Nicole says she better be reimbursed. Orpheus just tells her to do what she is told and says to call when she gets there. He hangs up as an annoyed Nicole reluctantly puts her drink down and races off as the scene shifts to the...


HORTON HOUSE

Alice comforts an emotional Julie, who can't believe that Doug is gone. Alice apologizes again, saying she was so sure that they would reunite. Julie wishes she had the chance to talk to him. Alice says she is sorry she just missed him. Julie looks up and admits she never heard Alice say that. Alice says she did when Julie first arrived. Julie concludes that it must have slipped her mind due to the shock of Alice's news. Julie wonders if she can still catch him. Alice says it's worth a try. Julie kisses Alice and tells her to wish her luck. Alice does as Julie races off and the scene shifts to...


PIER

Steve arrives and tells Hope he got her message to meet. Hope says she figured it was a good time after hearing Kayla had a shift at the hospital and with Bo dealing with police stuff. Steve points out that Hope mentioned having a solution to the Nicole problem on the phone. Hope says she thinks she does. Hope points out that they can't go along with Nicole's demands and hurt Carrie and Alyson, not to mention the affect it would have on Evan and Sam in the long-term.

Steve agrees and says he wouldn't want to destroy the lives of others just to preserve their secrets, especially with Carrie involved, who is family. Hope says her idea is that she calls Carrie and convinces her to return to Salem and he can go and talk to Alyson per Nicole's orders. This way, it makes it look like they made an effort and they can tell Nicole they are working on her demands. It will buy them some time to come up with a long-term solution.

Hope then adds that she will warn Carrie about Nicole upon her arrival in Salem, should she come, and Steve can warn Alyson. Nicole won't find out a thing since neither Carrie or Alyson will say anything to her due to their hatred of her. Steve thinks it's not a bad idea and it's worth a try. He does think it could backfire as Nicole may want results now. Hope thinks they will have to take a chance and hope it pays off for now or, at least long enough to find a permanent solution.

Steve says he is in and he will go and speak with Alyson right now while Kayla is out. Hope says she has Carrie's number from Caroline and will go give her a call now. Steve hopes this works. Hope says she does too as it's not the best plan but it's all they got. Steve tells Hope to stay in touch. Hope tells him the same and sighs deeply after he leaves, hoping everything goes well as the scene shifts to...


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Will and Lucas are at Sami's bedside. Will is still shaken up about what happened earlier with him being followed. He is sure someone is stalking the both of them and reminds Lucas of the previous instances in which he has felt the same way. Lucas thinks Will is just being paranoid and tells him Abe has a guard with them just in case there is a threat. He tells Will to just calm down and promises him everything is going to work out for their family. Will isn't so sure and thinks he is going to lose both of them. Lucas embraces him and promises that isn't going to happen.

Meanwhile, in another part of the hospital, Patricia and Joelle exit off the elevator. Patricia is assuring Joelle the rape test doesn't hurt at all but they do need it for evidence against Lucas. Joelle wonders if they can put it off longer. Patricia reminds Joelle they have been doing that all day and that is why Lucas was released on bail so easily. They have no case without the rape test backing her up. Patricia points out that Joelle has been hesitant since reporting the rape early this morning and she wants to know why that is the case. Joelle is silent. Patricia tells Joelle she better not be lying because that would bring a whole lot of trouble and her career would take a major hit. Joelle doesn't answer. Patricia asks again why she doesn't want to take the test.

Lucas comes in and interrupts, saying he would like to know himself. Patricia tells him to back off and says Joelle is just scared but she knows what she has to do. Joelle and Lucas stare into each other's eyes. Joelle then says she will do it and will take the test now. Patricia is pleased and drags Joelle off, saying they need to take it right away. Lucas watches them leave and tells Joelle she knows he didn't do it and he knows it too, even if he can't remember last night. Patricia and Joelle look back nervously at him and then walk off as a worried Lucas sighs deeply and the scene shifts to...


KIRIAKIS MANSION

Victor is still on one knee, waiting for an answer to his marriage proposal. Victor tells Maggie he is getting nervous. Maggie then smiles as tears stream down her face and says that of course she will marry him. Victor gets up, takes her in his arms and embraces her lovingly. They then kiss passionately. Victor then slips the ring on her finger and promises that he will make it his task each and every day to protect her and to make her the happiest women on this earth because she is so deserving. Maggie tells Victor he is deserving of happiness too and she hopes to make him just as happy as he makes her. They then kiss again. We then see a romantic montage of them kissing and holding each other in each other's arms, eating the romantic dinner Victor had put together with his kitchen staff, dancing together closely among the candlelight, and then more kissing and holding each other which leads to a long walk up to the bedroom where passion ignites and they make love.

Later, Victor and Maggie bask in the afterglow of their beautiful and memorable night together, commenting how it couldn't be any more perfect. Victor tells Maggie that everything that has happened has made him realize how short and fragile life is and he didn't want to wait. He wanted to live every day to the fullest and doesn't want to risk missing another chance to be happy. Maggie says she knows that feeling all too well and asks if he is saying he wants to get married sooner rather then later. Victor nods and says he would if that is ok with her. Maggie throws out Christmas, citing how important it is to her family, but Victor thinks it's too short notice. Maggie points out New Year's Eve. Victor reminds Maggie of his wedding to Nicole on New Year's and other bad memories of that night but thinks, ultimately, it's a good idea to erase some of those from the memories he has of past New Year's. They can start the new year right and with a clean slate he hopes is full of happiness and joy for them and their loved ones.

Victor and Maggie agree it's settled then. Maggie says it's a good thing Max and her are ahead on the club construction so that it doesn't suffer as she plans this but wonders how she can get it together. Victor says he will pull some strings and promises it will all come together. She will have the wedding of her dreams. He promises. Maggie smiles as she kisses him and says she can't wait to be Mrs. Maggie Kiriakis. Victor smiles and kisses her back as they then begin to make love a second time as the scene shifts to...


SALEM AIRPORT

Anna is sitting and waiting in the terminal for her flight and is shocked when Doug shows up. Doug asks if she is going to Paris too. Anna nods and says it looks like they are traveling together. She asks why he is leaving Salem. Doug says he just needs to move on and doesn't want to hurt Julie again or be hurt. He just can't seem to get past what she did. Anna thinks they are in the same boat as she feels the same about Tony. She knows he won't let up and there is nothing in Salem for her now anyway. She thinks it's best to finally just get out of dodge.. Doug agrees and says they share that thinking.

Meanwhile, Nicole arrives and is walking the terminal and sees Anna with Doug. She calls Orpheus and tells him she is at the airport and sees Anna with Doug and thinks they are flying together. Orpheus is pleased and tells Nicole to just listen to the following instructions he is about to give her. Nicole says fine and that she is listening as she watches Anna sitting with Doug from afar. The screen then divides into a split screen of Nicole lurking, Anna and Doug at the airport, and both Julie and Tony driving in their cars in a race against time to stop Doug and Anna as the scene freezes and then fades to black.

DECEMBER 5, 2007-EPISODE #387: HELLO AND GOODBYE


DEVERAUX HOUSE

Jack walks downstairs and places his luggage on the floor. He walks into the living room and goes over to kiss Abby on the forehead while Billie, who Jack called and begged to come over so he could tell her something before he goes, stands up from her seat. Alex walks into the door and everyone says hi. Alex smiles and asks Jack if he is ready to get going. Jack says he has to take care of some things and will be out at the car soon. As Alex walks out with Jack’s luggage, Jack looks at Billie and then says how sorry he is for how he acted after Elizabeth’s death. Billie just nods her head and sits down while Abby looks at her with anger.

Jack shakes his head and turns back to Abby, telling her to be a good girl while he is away. Abby asks if he’ll be home for Christmas and Jack promises he will. He then hugs Abby while looking at Billie, who turns away from his gaze. Jack just shakes his head as he walks to the door, looks back one more time, and leaves..........

Leaving Abby to ask what Billie thought she was doing acting like that towards her dad. Billie tells Abby that there are things she just doesn’t understand and they should just leave it at that. Billie walks to the kitchen as Abby sits back down on the couch in a huff.

Outside, Jack gets in the car as Alex is on the phone with Alyson, saying that they will have a nice time for Christmas and the New Year once he returns. Alyson tells him that he has become very special to her so he better not go off and get himself in any trouble. Alex smiles, saying he understands, and then says he’ll see her soon. As they both say good-bye and hang up, Jack asks if his love life is going any better than his.

Alex says what they both need to do is take it slow, get to know each other.......and not rock the boat. Jack says fair enough and Alex starts the car. Jack tells him to drive slow and Alex looks at him and simply says with a smile....

Alex: Sure, Pop.

As he guns the car into gear and takes off down the street.


I.S.A. HEADQUARTERS IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI

Shane, Miranda and Forrest have just walked into a huge office. Forrest asks Shane if it is his and Shane says yes......it’s one of them. But, he says, he will be based out of Salem for the foreseeable future. As all three of them sit down at a big conference table, Shane asks his secretary to bring in the files he asked for.

After the secretary puts down the files and leaves, Miranda asks Forrest if any word has came from his brother. Forrest says that he and Lawrence have never been close....and he doesn’t see that changing anytime soon, not with every major law enforcement agency in the world looking for him. Shane agrees, saying that with all of the people they have working on this one case, no telling what may happen.

Miranda asks if she could have a word with Shane alone for a moment. Forrest obliges and takes some of the files and goes to another conference room. Once alone, Miranda asks if Shane has heard any word from Port Charles yet. Shane says his friend, Robert Scorpio, is working on it there. He’ll get in touch with him soon. He has also put calls into his friends and contacts in Genoa City, Llanview, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Maybe with all that help, they will break this case. Shane sits behind his desk as Miranda then asks him.......

Miranda: And so......what are my orders, sir?
Shane: Well, your secondary order........is to find Lawrence Alamain. As soon as possible.
Miranda: Ok. Good. Anything else?
Shane: Yes. Your primary order..........
Miranda: Yes, sir. Find the briefcase with Roman Brady’s name on it.
Shane: And at all speed. For some reason, there are a lot of people who want that case. I don’t why Orpheus wants it......or how he got his hands on it, but find it........

Before all hell breaks loose.

Miranda nods her head and leaves the office. Shane then sits at his desk, presses a button on his control panel........and behind him raises up a monitor from a desk behind him. When the screen activates, it shows Forrest talking on his cell phone, with Shane saying......

Shane: Rule Number One.......never make a private call in a spy building.

The scene shifts to Forrest, talking to one of his men. He tells him that they need to do as ordered and watch Abby Deveraux like a hawk. And, if anything should happen to her because of his brother,......there will be hell to pay. He says his brother is a very dangerous man and they can’t leave anything to chance. He then bids the other person good-bye and, as the scene fades on Forrest.........


SALEM POLICE STATION

It fades back in with Lucas walking back into Abe’s office, having just made bail. Maggie then walks in behind them, with Lucas asking Maggie to give his thanks to Victor for bailing him out. Maggie tells him that to Victor, Lucas will always be another son to him. Lucas appreciates that but all three of them are startled when Will comes running into Abe’s office. He’s out of breath and Lucas ask what’s wrong. Will says that he was followed all the way from the hospital to the station.

Abe runs out and gets his officers on the case as Lucas tells him everything will be alright. Abe walks back in and says they both will get a police escort to where ever they want to go. They look at each other and Lucas says he sees himself at one place.......right by Sami’s side. Abe calls in and orders one of his officers to take Lucas and Will to the hospital and to take Maggie home.


KIRIAKIS MANSION

Later that evening, when Maggie walks back through the door, she is surprised to see a red carpet leading to the dining room. It has rose petals on it and is lit by candlelight. Maggie slowly walks into the main dining room......to see Victor in a tuxedo, walking toward her. With a big smile on his face, he stops in front of her and kisses her gently, wiping the tears away with his hand.

Maggie cleans herself up well enough to ask him what all this is for and Victor tells her to just wait. She will see. He then tells his servant that they are ready and the kitchen staff start bringing in Maggie’s favorite dishes. Maggie is shocked and asks when Victor had time to prepare all of this. He slyly says that he’s been saving his nickels and dimes and kept them all upstairs in his shoebox. Maggie laughs out loud but then Victor comes close once again. He says.......

Victor: Well, my dear......we have been through so much. And, through all of it, I kept being reminded of one thing......how special you are to me and how much I love you.
Maggie: Oh, Victor......
Victor: And.........as a token of my love.........

Victor gets down on one knee, making Maggie gasp........

Victor: My beautiful lady, will you do me the honor.......

Victor opens a ring box that was just given to him by Nico........

Victor: Of becoming my bride?

Maggie looks at Victor, looks at the ring........

And the scene then dissolves to the...


SALEM INN

Tony and Anna are talking in the dining room after he convinced her to meet him. Tony asks Anna why she doesn’t want to talk about their problems but Anna turns away to hide the tears she is shedding. She tells Tony that he apparently has forgotten what he put her through when her and Renee were fighting for his affections. Tony says he is a different man now and, besides, that was almost 30 years ago.

Anna says to her, it feels like yesterday, and she doesn’t know if she can see him in a different light. Tony says that is ridiculous and Anna says she isn’t sure if he’ll disappear in the fog on the pier again and she’ll end up being alone. Tony wants to know who put these ideas in her head but Anna grabs her purse, gets up, and quickly walks past Tony.

He throws his napkin down on the dining room table and goes after her.......but stops at the door. He will give her the space she needs........for now. But, soon, he will get some answers......

And find out who is poisoning Anna’s mind against him.


ORPHEUS SECRET PALATIAL HOME(on the outskirts of Salem)

Orpheus sits at his desk, making plans. Nicole walks in and Orpheus greets her. He tells her to sit down as he gets up and pours her a glass of brandy. Nicole smiles as she takes it and Orpheus sits down next to her. He tells her that she is about to be involved in a plan that will catch two birds with one stone. As she sips her brandy, Nicole asks what it could be.

Orpheus says the plan involves two people..........Anna Fredericks DiMera..........and Roman Brady. When Nicole asks why Anna, he says she stuck her nose in where it didn’t belong. For that.......she has to pay. He tells her that one of his men will be taking her to a secluded place and she is to wait for his phone call. Nicole says ok but then asks what would happen if she ran to the cops. Orpheus smiles and answers her, saying.....

Orpheus: My dear.........if you did that, there won’t be enough left of you to spread on a Ritz cracker. Ok?
Nicole: You got it, boss.

Nicole quickly gets up and, after one of Orpheus’ men helps her on with her coat, they both leave. Orpheus goes and sits back at his desk and the scene shifts from a evilly smiling Orpheus to the....


HORTON HOUSE

Doug has just walked into the living room. He compliments Alice on how well the new door looks. Alice thanks him and then tells him it’s been reinforced. A bull couldn’t get in there now. Doug then grows somber and says he would like for Alice to do him a favor. When she asks what it is, Doug says that he would like her to give Julie a letter he wrote her. Alice says he can do that himself and Doug says not with that kind of letter.

When Alice asks what it is, Doug says.......that he is leaving Salem and just wanted to say goodbye to her. Alice grows silent and Doug says it’s for the best. He looks at Alice, walks over to her, kisses her on the cheek and, as they both look at each other, he gently puts the letter in her lap. He then hugs Alice warmly, turns and leaves.

Julie walks in several minutes later and asks Alice if she is ok. Alice is silent and just looks at Julie. Julie senses that something is wrong and asks Alice what it is. Alice looks down into her lap and, as Julie slowly walks over, Alice tells her what she dreaded hearing.....

Alice: Julie.........Doug left Salem. And.........he left this letter, saying goodbye.

Julie slowly reaches down and picks up the letter and Alice tells her how sorry she is. Julie stands still for a moment and, with a tear falling from her eye, slowly bends down, goes to her knees, and starts sobbing uncontrollably. Alice takes her granddaughter in her arms and rocks her back and forth, telling her..........

Alice: It’s alright, child. Just let it all out.

The scene then stays on Alice comforting a crying Julie.........and then slowly fades to black.

DECEMBER 4, 2007-EPISODE #386: INTERNAL ANSWERS


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Jack catches Frankie on his way back to Greta's room and says he just came from seeing Greta. He tells Frankie that he has decided to leave Salem and go with Alex to Switzerland to help him deal with Elizabeth's belongings. Jack adds that he thinks Frankie was right and that this will give Billie the time and space she needs. Frankie nods and says he thinks that is a good idea since it seems unlikely any of them will make any headway with Billie anytime soon.

Jack asks what Frankie means. Frankie fills Jack in on the talk he had with Billie and Jack is unsurprised, saying it looks like he is making the right decision leaving. He tells Frankie he will be back before the holidays but that he would like him to watch over his family and Billie for him while he is gone. Frankie smiles and says of course he will. That's what friends are for. The two men shake hands and embrace as Frankie's cell rings. It's Maggie, who fills him in on what is going on with Lucas. Frankie says he will be right there and tells Jack what is going on. Jack figures he better go down there and make sure Lucas's arrest is covered right by The Spectator and Billie may need him. Frankie reminds Jack to give Billie space and then says he is going to tell Greta what is up and then they can go to the station together. Jack nods as the scene shifts to...


SALEM POLICE STATION

Billie arrives and sees Kate. She asks her mother what is going on. Kate is shocked she is talking to her. Billie is prepared to walk away when Philip comes over and fills Billie in. Kate says she just got there herself. Philip says he was there when Lucas got arrested and adds that Patricia is out to get Lucas. Kate races over to Lucas and embraces him. Lucas pushes her away and asks why she is there. She says Maggie called her and she promises to be there for him and Will and to do whatever she can to help them get through this. Lucas shakes his head, clearly unnerved by her presence. Maggie tells Lucas she had to call her. Kate sees that Lucas clearly doesn't want her there and says she will just go get some coffee.

Hope and Steve arrive at the station and Steve is talking to Hope about the situation with Nicole as they walk the hall. Hope tells Steve they will have to discuss this later as there are more pressing matters. Hope and Steve walk into the room to find Bo, Kayla, and Caroline with Marlena. Bo asks where they have been. Hope says that she went to the hospital to visit Sami as she heard he was there. She says she ran into Steve and they both got the message that Lucas got arrested and that they were all at the station. Bo nods and asks if that is all.

Hope asks if her and Steve are being interrogated again. Kayla calms Bo and takes him aside, urging him not to show his hand. She says the only way they will find out anything about what is going on with Hope and Steve is by playing it like they buy what they are saying. Bo isn't so sure but Kayla urges him to try it her way for now. Bo reluctantly agrees. Hope asks what is going on. Bo tells her he is just upset because he didn't know where she was and it bothered him since she has had a habit of taking off with Steve the past few months. Hope embraces Bo and says he has nothing to worry about. There will be no more disappearing acts. She promises. Steve says the same thing. Kayla says they believe them and trust them. Bo looks at Kayla and then at Steve and Hope and nods.

Roman arrives and asks Marlena and Belle what is going on. She fills him in and Roman tells Abe there is no way Lucas could do this. Abe is silent. Patricia says she is sick of the Brady's and Horton's getting away with breaking laws just because of who they are, citing Maggie and Julie's involvement in the fire at Chez Rouge. Julie and Maggie take offense and then Alice stands up and orders Patricia to call off her witch hunt and to do her job to see that justice is done. Patricia claims she is doing that but Alice disagrees, telling her that she is barking up the wrong tree and Lucas is innocent.

Patricia backs off and tells Joelle to come with her as she doesn't need to be upset anymore then she is. Patricia drags Joelle off as she and Lucas lock eyes before she leaves the room. Victor arrives and embraces Maggie. Maggie fills him in on what is going on. Abe says it's likely that Lucas will make bail as they have hardly any evidence yet until they do DNA testing and other forensics testing, which may not be done for a day or so since Joelle has not been checked out for that yet. Victor and Philip both offer to do what they can with the Kiriakis name to help Lucas. Lucas thanks them. Frankie and Jack arrive and are updated on what is happening. Frankie thinks the harassment suit will not help Lucas' cause. Will admits being worried about losing both his parents. Marlena and Maggie comfort him. Lucas comes over and embraces him, promising him that won't happen.

Meanwhile, Billie goes to get coffee and meets up with Kate, who asks how she is doing. Billie asks how she thinks she is doing. Her life is a mess. Kate says she is sorry and asks who she has told. Billie says she hasn't told anyone. Kate is shocked that she hasn't at least told Jack. Billie says she can't tell Jack or anyone else and that, in Jack's case, she is too afraid to hurt him. Billie reminds Kate that a Dimera always hurts the people they love in the end, no matter if they planned to or not. Kate doesn't think Billie would do that. Billie disagrees.

Jack walks into the hall and hides, eavesdropping on Billie and Kate's conversation. Billie tells Kate she just needs to be alone. Kate thinks that Billie is going about all this the wrong way. Billie tells her she doesn't want to see her and to just leave her alone. Kate agrees to do that...for now...but thinks Billie needs to confide in someone or this will eat her alive and Jack is that person if she truly loves him.

Billie turns toward Kate and says that Jack and her are through. It would never last and they would only hurt each other. She mentions him going with Alex to Switzerland and admits she is happy he is going. They both need to move on. Jack hears this and silently walks off. Kate asks where this is coming from. Billie tells Kate to just back off. She doesn't want to speak with her now. Not after what has happened. Billie walks off leaving behind a saddened and worried Kate.

Victor approaches Lucas and takes him aside as he is prepared for booking. Victor says he knows Lucas and his family are dealing with alot but he felt he should ask him something given what is going on and his relationship with Maggie. He just hopes it's not inappropriate. Lucas tells him to go ahead and that it's ok as he will hopefully be out on bail soon. Victor asks Lucas for his permission to propose to and marry Maggie. Lucas is silent for a few moments and says he doesn't care for Victor's lifestyle but, if he can promise to protect his aunt, he approves. He can see how much Victor loves her. Victor thanks him, saying that means alot to him. The men shake hands. Victor walks off.

Marlena asks Lucas if there is anything she can do. He tells her and Roman to go to Sami. He tells them to give her his love and says she needs all the love and strength she can get. Marlena nods and embraces him and Will. She thinks Will should come with her but Will insists on staying since Abe said Lucas may be released on bail soon. Abe says there is no guarantee but Will is determined to stay. Abe promises to look out for him and says he will send him home if nothing happens or Lucas isn't released. Marlena and Lucas both thank Abe as a worried Will looks on.

Doug walks around aimlessly and goes to get coffee. He thinks about what Maggie said earlier about how he needs to make a move. Doug then tells himself he has put this off and struggled with this long enough and it's no use stringing along Julie or himself. He looks over at Julie and sees Victor over with her and Alice, reminding him of what Julie did. Doug closes his eyes, sighs heavily, takes out his cell, and makes a call.

Victor tells Julie and Alice he knows alot is going on but he really needs to talk to them as they are important people to Maggie . He knows it's a bit inappropriate but he wants to ask them for permission to marry Maggie as he intends to propose tonight. Life is just too short and he doesn't want to waste anymore time. Alice tells Victor that they don't necessarily endorse his lifestyle and they worry about Maggie's safety but they see that he loves her and that is all that matters. Julie embraces Victor and says he has their blessing. Victor thanks them both and says that means alot. Julie just tells Victor to make her aunt happy and to protect her. Victor promises that he will.

Doug hangs up his phone and watches Julie with Victor and Alice. He says that it will all be over soon enough. He then looks over at Hope. She is with Bo, Steve, Kayla, Roman, Marlena and Caroline. Doug says he is sorry that he will be leaving without saying goodbye but he can't let Hope stop him. Doug says that he has to do this...for the good of Julie and himself. The scene then freezes on Doug and fades to black.

DECEMBER 3, 2007-EPISODE # 385: DRAWING A BLANK PART 2


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

In the cafeteria, Frankie walks up to the table that Billie is sitting at. He looks at her and she motions him to sit down. After he does, he asks her why she has been acting strange lately. Billie says that her life is really upside down right now and she just doesn’t know where to turn. Frankie tells her that she should turn to Jack. After all, he loves her to death. Billie says that is the biggest problem she has right now.

Frankie then says that Jack’s a good guy and will be there for her. She looks at him for a moment and then asks in a defiant tone if Jack put him up to his little visit. Frankie stares at her wide eyed, saying that he came over there on his own, thinking she needed a friend. Billie then tells him that all she needs right now is to be left alone......

And that if Jack sends him around again, both of them will be sorry. Billie then stands up and storms off, leaving an incredulous Frankie to wonder what is going on.

Upstairs in Greta’s room, Jack walks in with roses and a huge smile on his face. Greta thanks him for the flowers and, as he places them in a vase, sits down next to her. He asks how she’s doing and Greta says better than he is. Jack says he thought he was always good at hiding what’s bothering him. He was with Jennifer. Greta says she’s not Jennifer........and neither is Billie. Jack agrees but says in some ways she is.

When Greta asks in what way, he says that she is just as stubborn as Jennifer ever was. Billie walks up to Greta’s door and slightly opens it........but stops when she hears Jack. Jack then says to Greta that, with Billie acting the way she is, he is going to give her some space and head to Switzerland with Alex. Greta says that may be what the doctor ordered. She then tells him not to give up on Billie........and, with her listening, he says he will never do that. Billie smiles slightly and walks away.

Then Jack tells Greta she is one to talk. Frankie should be the one sitting there and is nowhere in sight. Greta turns her head away and Jack says that Frankie is one terrific guy. He doesn’t deserve this. Greta says that they are doing it to each other. She tells Jack that they are both scared of what may come. Jack says that sometimes people have to take a leap of faith. Greta then says that faith may not be enough right now.

She then says that they will figure it out and Jack tells her to do that. And, as he gets up, he then says for her to do it soon....

Before she loses out on the best thing she ever had. He then bends down, kisses her on the cheek, and leaves her to think about what he just said.


KIRIAKIS MANSION

Victor sits at his desk as Nico walks into the study. Victor asks if all the preparations are going well and Nico says that not only are they wonderful, his friends from the old country will be arriving soon. Victor asks how his dinner plans are going and Nico tells him the cook has prepared something special. Victor thanks Nico for all of his hard work in such a short time. He then tells Nico that Nico’s father would be proud. Nico smiles, saying he hopes so.

One of Nico’s men then walks in with a message and whispers in Nico’s ear. Nico looks concerned as he thanks the man and, after he leaves the room, Nico tells Victor that he has reason to believe that Orpheus is reorganizing his people and is ready to make a strike against them. Victor shakes his head, saying that it is high time someone wipes him out and everyone connected with him. Victor then gives Nico an order......

To get their people on it......and to find out if Orpheus has any children. Nico asks if that is wise and Victor says that he just wants information. Orpheus has tried to kill his son on more than one occasion, Victor says,.......now it’s time to find out what would happen.....

If one of his children were threatened with death. Nico obeys and leaves the room, leaving Victor to walk back to his desk, sit down, and continue writing.


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Nicole gleefully tells Hope and Steve that she knows everything.....the daughter they share, the affair they’re having, and the lies they are telling. As Nicole walks to the balcony, Steve and Hope follow, asking what she wants. Nicole turns and says that she wants the both of them to not only convince Carrie to come home with Evan but for then to convince Alyson to give up Sam, saying that Alyson is in no condition to care for him in her emotional state and with her mother in a coma.

Hope looks at her like she’s crazy, saying that Alyson is fine. Nicole doesn’t care. She says that either they convince them to do it.........or they lose everything. Steve looks at Nicole and says, matter-of-factly......

Steve: You are one silly ass bitch if you think we are doing that for you.

As they both turn and walk away, Nicole yells at them that if they don’t do it.....they will lose everything. Steve and Hope ignore her and leave as Nicole stands on the balcony.....with an evil smile crossing her lips.


BRADY PUB

Kayla asks Bo where Steve and Hope are. Bo says he doesn’t know but intends to get to the bottom of all of this. He then says that neither one of them is stupid and Kayla agrees. She says that this constant leaving and coming back with these weird explanations is going to end. As both of them sit in a booth.....

Victor calls Bo on his cell phone. When Bo asks Victor what’s up, Victor says that they need to sit down and have a business meeting. He then tells him that they have received word about Orpheus and need to discuss their plans for him. Bo agrees and says he’ll be over soon. Victor tells him it can wait until tomorrow night. Bo asks if Victor is sure and he says he is. Victor then tells Bo to dress nicely......and in a black suit. Bo asks why and Victor says that he is having some people over before they meet and he wants to show Bo off. Bo smiles, agreeing to his terms, and they both bid each other farewell.

Kayla asks what that was about and Bo says he doesn’t have a clue....but intends to find out. The scene then shifts from the Pub.....


SALEM POLICE DEPARTMENT

Lucas is being brought in. As his family stands by him, Abe tries to defend him to Patricia, saying there is no evidence to support Joelle’s claim. When he then says that nothing was found at Roberts Inc., Patricia lashes out, saying that Abe needs to remember that he is an officer of the law and to stop trying to protect someone who is obviously guilty.

This statement makes Will lash out, saying that Patricia is truly nuts if she thinks that. Patricia looks at Will with scorn but Maggie tells her to push her eyes back into her head and to stop with the scare tactics. Marlena agrees, saying that they have powerful friends and influence in Salem. Patricia asks what is that supposed to mean and Doug then pipes in, saying that Michael Myers has still not been caught, Orpheus is running loose, the mafia war is still going full tilt.......and all she can do is hold some damn vendetta against an innocent man with no proof.

Philip, Belle, Alice & Julie all agree. Lucas says he didn’t touch Joelle and she says that if he didn’t do it........who did? Lucas says that he honestly has no memory of what happened last night. When he walked into his office.........Joelle was there. Joelle then asks where the cut on his forehead and the bloody paperweight came from and Lucas can’t answer. She answers for him, saying that she used it to beat him after he raped her. When Doug tells Lucas not to say another word, Maggie goes out into the outer office.....

To call Victor and Marlena follows her out, calling Kate. Lucas is then told by Abe to sit down in a seat and asks that everyone else wait out in the outer offices.

As Lucas sits in the chair, with the magnitude of his predicament hitting him hard........

The scene then shifts to...


PARIS

A man stands on the balcony of a beautiful hotel. He gets a phone call and walks back into his room to answer the phone, saying to the person on the other end....

Man: Yes? Hello. I know. Look, we are searching for the briefcase. (Pause) Even though Roman Brady’s name was on it, he doesn’t know what was in it.......nor does anyone else. I’m sure of it. We have every available person on it, including our contacts in the F.B.I., C.I.A. & the I.S.A. No.......no, I don’t feel it has been compromised but, we better find it, and soon.........

Before Roman Brady or someone else opens that briefcase.

The man hangs up the phone, pours a glass of wine, and walks back out onto the balcony. The scene then shifts to a view of the Eiffel Tower as it illuminates in the beautiful night sky........

And the scene slowly fades to black.

“Christmas miracles, lovers being reunited, and romance is in the air this December” says EP/HW Patrick J. Ewing. “But, two enemies will meet face to face. It’s the battle readers have been waiting for. And now, let’s see what SL has planned for the last month of 2007.”

Roman/Marlena: “These two people have been through utter hell since Marlena walked back into St. Luke’s church alive this time last year. The death of their son, Eric, and the kidnapping of their daughter, Sami has left both of them reeling. They have almost thrown away everything, and separated forever.......but now, things change. They both hold vigil for Sami, and something happens to one of them that will not only allow both people to think about what’s really important.......it will make one of them finally move on from something that has been tearing at them......and start living life once again.”

Stefano/Orpheus: “The Greek Tragedy. Can one man reach out to his son, while trying not to destroy him? This is the question that stands between these two. Stefano just found out that one of his deadliest enemies is in fact his son (Damn, when did he have time to build an empire?) And now, as he tries to reach out to Orpheus, will his son allow that......and what steps will Orpheus take to wipe his father out.......and take his place at the seat of power in the DiMera Empire? Lucas: "Lucas will have alot to deal with this December. On top of Sami being in a coma, the legal trouble with Joelle will bring a shocking turn by month's end. Will is fearful he may lose both of his parents....but will fate intervene in time for this family to be reunited?"

Bo/Hope/Steve/Kayla: “Bo and Kayla are trying to make heads or tails of what has been going on between their loved ones. Both Steve and Hope have been keeping their night of passion a secret, and both are trying to forget the terrible mistakes they have made. But.......Nicole is around, and she knows the truth. And......she will use this information to make their lives a living hell. This December, this story takes turns no one expected. Abe/Lexie/Celeste: “As Abe and Lexie go forward with their divorce, Lexie gives them a wonderful surprise for Christmas. Meanwhile, Lexie will work with someone that may do something she has either fought for or fought against.......the destruction of her father, Stefano.”

Tony/Cassie/Anna: “Stefano begins to usurp Tony’s place in Cassie life. The battle lines are once again being drawn between father and son, and Tony will seek out Marlena for help. NOVEMBER 30, 2007-EPISODE #384: DRAWING A BLANK


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Frankie is with Greta in her room. They are both eating ice cream, laughing, and having a good time. Greta can't believe he was able to sneak ice cream in again. Frankie smiles and says he just had to as they are celebrating her breakthrough today. Greta doesn't think it's such a big deal. Frankie disagrees, saying that her walking down the hall with minor assistance was a big step. Her physical therapist said she may be home before Christmas, especially since she isn't paralyzed and just needs to build her strength. Greta hopes he is right. Frankie nods and says he knows he is.

Jack then arrives, apologizing for interrupting. They all three greet each other. Frankie tells Jack about Greta's breakthrough. Jack thinks that is good and says he is proud of her. Greta thanks him and says she will be back at The Spectator soon to whip his butt into shape. Jack smiles and says he would like nothing better as he thrives on the pressure. Jack then asks Frankie if he can talk to him for a moment. Frankie says sure and both men excuse themselves.

Outside Greta's room, Jack tells Frankie he has a problem with Billie and fills him in on how she has been acting and treating him since the hostage crisis last night. He mentions that Billie even disowned Kate. Frankie thinks there must be something going on and that something must've happened while she was with Orpheus. Jack agrees, saying he knows his treatment of her before the hostage crisis upset her but she wasn't acting like this.

Frankie says he will talk to Billie and see if he has better luck but also advises Jack to give Billie some space and to lay off a bit. Jack isn't sure he can do that but Frankie thinks he has to or he may end up making things worse. Jack thanks him for his help. Frankie tells him to just go home and take care of his family for right now. He will let him know how things go with Billie. They shake hands as Jack thanks him again.

Jack gets up and tells Frankie he has one more thing to say, which is that he knows Greta very well and he thinks that Frankie needs to make a move. She's a good catch and someone will pounce if he doesn't eventually. Frankie asks what Jack means. Jack smiles, saying Frankie knows what he means. He's wasted enough time and he needs to go for it. Jack bids Frankie goodbye as Frankie chuckles a bit and returns to Greta's room, where she has finished her ice cream and asks if he plans to finish his. Frankie just stares at her, lovingly. She asks if something is wrong. He smiles and says nothing is. He then says she can finish his ice cream. She smiles and thanks him as he continues to look at her, continuing to smile and wondering if Jack is right as the scene shifts to...


ROBERTS, INC

Lucas wakes up bleeding in the lobby outside his office as his cell rings. He touches the back of his head and his hand becomes covered in blood. He wonders how that happened and realizes he can't remember anything but arriving and meeting Joelle in his office. His cell is still ringing but stops as he finally goes to answer it. He discovers he has 8 messages, all from Will and Maggie, who are concerned about where he is and why he hasn't called.

Lucas gets up and is shocked to see his office door opened and his office trashed. Lucas wonders how this could happen and remembers it's Saturday so not many are around, including the janitor until late in the day. He realizes he should get checked out and get back to the hospital to let everyone know he is fine but promises to get to the bottom of this as the scene fades to...


WAREHOUSE ON SALEM'S EAST SIDE

Orpheus enters the warehouse as Nicole is sitting, saying she has been waiting and very bored. Orpheus hands her a tape, saying that should make her happy. Nicole asks how he was able to get it so fast. Orpheus says he has his people and the task was much easier as many of Victor's employees are quite busy working on the electrical maintenance. Nicole tells Orpheus that the security camera footage she is holding is her ace in the hole. She just hopes it wasn't too dark and that the cameras were still working. She needs to make sure Steve and Hope making love can be clearly seen.

Orpheus thinks it will be fine. Nicole still can't believe all that he told her last night about Steve and Hope sharing a past while they were presumed dead and how Chelsea is their daughter. Nicole admits being shocked Hope kept the secret for so long. Orpheus figures Steve found out recently after he told him about Chelsea on the ship and thinks the affair started only recently. Nicole says she is surprised he sat on the Chelsea secret. Orpheus admits it was of no interest to him. He just used it to toy with Steve and Hope on the ship a bit. He has bigger fish to fry.

Nicole says she has to get going. Orpheus reminds Nicole of the deal. He gave her what she needed at the moment and he will be calling her soon with what he needs. She smiles and says sure thing before leaving. Orpheus then calls to Micheal. Micheal walks over and Orpheus tells him to put out a tail on Anna Fredericks. He must know of her every move so he knows the perfect moment to strike at the woman who destroyed his plans. Micheal nods and walks off as Orpheus smiles and the scene shifts to...


DEVERAUX HOUSE

Jack arrives to find Alex packing bags. He asks what he is doing. Alex says he is going to Switzerland to go through his mother's things and deal with her affairs. He also has alot to think about, as in where he should go next. Jack insists his home is here with his family. Alex isn't so sure of that. Jack remembers what Frankie said about giving Billie time and space and suggests that he go with Alex. He thinks it would be a great way for them to bond and to get past the tension between them. It would also give them both piece of mind when it comes to his mother.

Alex doesn't think that is a good idea. Jack reminds Alex that he did love his mother and she loved him. He asks Alex to just give him a chance. After a few moments, Alex tells Jack he can come as he knows that he will come even if he says no anyway, being who he is. He just wants Jack to stay out of his way and to not assume this means he is letting him into his life now. Jack nods in agreement and says he will make the arrangements. Alex nods and goes to pack some more as Jack smiles, picks up the cordless phone, and calls the airport to make the arrangements as the scene shifts to...


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Hope and Steve walk down a hallway. She can't believe that he came to the hospital the same time as her. Steve says it was a coincidence and he is there to support the family the same way she is. He then asks if it's always going to be like this and if she is ever going to trust him again. Hope isn't sure after he disregarded her fears and worries for weeks and now they have had an affair. Steve says he feels horrible and admits he should've listened to her and backed off. Hope fires back it's a bit late for that and they just need to make sure no one learns the truth. Their spouses would never understand how they could lose control and knowingly do this.

Steve agrees with Hope, as much as he hates lying. It's just the right thing to do under these circumstances as there was no drugs, manipulation, mind control, or alcohol involved at all. Hope admits she is worried someone saw them or that a security camera caught him. Steve reminds her that everyone that was in the building was at the ball and the power went out so the generators were on. He doesn't think all the cameras can run with the generators. Hope points out he doesn't think but it could've happened. They could've been caught on camera. Steve tells her not to worry. It's going to be fine. They both then hear a voice that says:

Voice: Are you about that?

Hope and Steve turn and are shocked to see Nicole. Nicole suggests they go out on the balcony and talk. Hope and Steve look at her curiously and nervously, wondering what they would have to talk about. Nicole says their dirty laundry and adds she is only being considerate and trying to keep their private matters private. Hope asks what she is talking about.

Nicole: I guess I can remind you two forgetful souls. I'm talking about the fact that you two jumped each other's bones last night during the ball. Not to mention the fact that you have a past and a daughter together and lied to your cherished loved ones about it. Ring a bell?

Steve and Hope are stunned as Nicole shows a devilish grin and the scene shifts to...

Outside Sami's room. Philip is getting some coffee when Belle shows up with Marlena. She asks Philip what he is doing there. He says he is there for Lucas. An uneasy Belle nods as Marlena suggests they go inside. Marlena gives Philip a cold look before going in to the room. Philip smiles and drinks his coffee before entering the room himself

Inside the room, Maggie fills Marlena and Belle in on Lucas going to Roberts, Inc and never returning. Philip says he can go after him. Just then, Lucas shows up. Everyone is overjoyed. Will races over from near Alice, Doug and Julie and embraces Lucas, saying he was worried. Lucas says he told Maggie where he was. Will says he still worried, especially with how Lucas fell apart after mom "died." Lucas says he is fine. Will asks what happened to his head. Just then, Patricia walks in with two officers and...

A bruised and battered Joelle. Everyone is stunned. Lucas asks what is going on. Patricia says they are there to arrest him...for charges of rape nad assult. The officers grab him and start reading his rights. Everyone is stunned as Lucas looks at a trembling and silent Joelle, shaking his head in confusion and disbelief as the scene freezes on him...

And then fades to black.

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Jack sees Billie in the parking lot. He runs up to her and tries to stop her but she ignores him and keeps walking toward the hospital. Jack raises his voice, demanding to know what the hell is wrong with her. Billie stops, turns around and says........nothing is wrong with her. She is here for Lucas and Will. Jack tells her that is BS. She has been acting strange ever since the hostage crisis last night.

Billie tells him that she is just fine and would like for him to just leave her alone. Jack says he can’t do that and Billie tells him he sure didn’t have a problem with it when Elizabeth came to town. Jack is silent and Billie breaks the silence by saying she has to go.......her brother needs her. Billie then walks off, leaving a stunned Jack in the parking lot, wondering what to do next.


SALEM INN

Alex walks Alyson to a hotel room in the early morning hours with a happy Alyson leading the way. As he closes the door, she thanks him for a splendid evening and.....for getting her mind off of her mother, for just a while. He smiles, saying it was his pleasure. The smile then disappears when he tells her he may go back to Switzerland and pack up her things. Alyson says that may be what he needs right now.....to just get away. Alex agrees, saying that Salem is not the city he thought it would be.

As he bids farewell, Alyson walks over to him. As they look at each other, she leans in.....and kisses him on the cheek. He smiles again and then she asks if she can give him some advice. He says sure and then she says..........that he should try to get along with his father. Jack and Abby are all he has as family and he doesn’t want to waste that. He looks at her, nods his head.....

And then bids her good night. Alyson closes the door and smiles as she leans against it, thinking about the wonderful man she just spent time with.


BRADY PUB

Victor walks in with Nico. Caroline walks over and they both hug. Victor asks if there is any change with Sami and Caroline says no. But, she thanks him for sending in the team of doctors to work on her condition. Victor doesn’t accept her thanks. He says that it is the least he can do for her family. He then walks past her and sits at one of the booths. Caroline sits down and asks him what’s wrong.

Victor grows reflective, saying that with all that has happened, he knows there is less time ahead of him than behind him. As she listens, Victor says that he’s been thinking a lot of his children, the life he’s led......and the mistakes he’s made. Caroline pats his hand as he smiles at her and then he says he wants to do something that will.......push his life forward. Hopefully to a time where there is much peace and love in his life. Caroline asks what that is and Victor says......

He wants to ask Maggie to marry him.

Caroline thinks that is wonderful and gets to give him a hug and a kiss. Victor asks if it is ok with her. Caroline says that what they had in the past......is in the past. It gave them a wonderful son and it is something she will never forget. But, like she had Shawn.......Victor must have Maggie. She’s a wonderful woman, Caroline tells Victor, and she will make him a splendid wife.

Victor is very happy and thanks Caroline for her warm words. He then says he has to go to make arrangements and both of them hug as he leaves with Nico. Caroline then thinks about the letter for Roman......and goes upstairs to make a call.


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Cassie walks in and sits down. Stefano is watching the news reports of the hostage crisis on MSNBC and Cassie askS how he’s doing. He says sore but better as he pats her on her cheek. She then askS if it was wrong to confess for Greta’s hit-and-run.......and that is when Tony comes from behind the curtain. Stefano is startled to see him and admonishes him for sneaking in his room. Tony asks if this is just another family secret. Stefano says Tony shouldn’t care, having wished death on him.

Tony says it’s the least he could do. Stefano scornfully looks at him as he then says that Cassie should confess to the accident. Stefano tells him that the truth is one’s worst enemy. Tony says he ought to know. Stefano demands that he not speak to him in such a fashion and also tells him to treat Cassie with some respect. Tony says that she will get it when she earns it and she can do that by going to the police. Cassie then pipes in, telling both men to stop arguing. She then gets up and walks over to Tony........

Telling him that if he doesn’t protect her, then he will have no daughter. Tony looks at her with sadness, then walks past her to stand next to Stefano’s bed. He asks him if he put her up to this and Stefano says that if he can protect outsiders like Steve Johnson and Hope Brady........he shouldn’t have a problem protecting his own daughter. Tony just shakes his head and leaves......as Cassie smiles. Stefano tells her to sit down and then takes her hand, telling her how proud he is of her standing up to Tony.

As she hugs Stefano, the scene then fades into.............

Sami's room, where Will tells Doug, Julie, Maggie and Alice that he is worried about his father. Alice tells him it will be alright. Everyone is going through a lot right now. Will says he knows that but says with his mother in a coma......why did he run off right now? Everyone looks at one another as the scene shifts to..........


ROBERTS, INC.

Lucas demands to know what she wants. She says that he owes her and she wants to collect.....before his life is ruined. Lucas says with what is going on with Sami, she would do something like this now? She says he rebuffed her.....now it’s time to pay for it. Lucas says the harassment suit wasn’t enough? She smiles, saying that he may not have a company when she is though.

Joelle starts laughing and Lucas tells her to stop it. She asks through the laughter what he’s going to do about it? He says if she doesn’t stop.......he’ll show her. She then tells him to stop trying to be the big man and that’s when Lucas walks over, grabs her......and starts shaking her. She tells him to let her go and he starts shaking her more violently, saying that she deserves what she’s about to get.

When she asks what that means.......Lucas says maybe it’s time to see just how serious he is. He then throws her up against a wall and, as he walks closer and closer to her, she demands that he leaves. He gets closer and she says she’ll scream and, when he grabs her again.......

The scene then goes black. When it fades back in.........Caroline is walking towards the front door at the...


THE BRADY HOME (ABOVE THE PUB)

Caroline hears the doorbell ring and is going to answer it. When she does, Roman is blowing into his hands, trying to keep them warm. As he comes in, he asks why she wanted to see him. Caroline says to him that she knows more than anyone how tough it has been for him and Marlena these last few months. Roman walks past Caroline, hiding his face, and not wanting her to see the pain that he is going through.

She then pulls out the letter Shawn wrote him and tells Roman......

Caroline: I found this while I was cleaning out some of your father’s things.

Roman turns around and sees what she has and she continues......

Caroline: He wrote this to you right after your first birthday. He was very sick then and we thought he wasn’t.........going to be with us much longer. I never knew he wrote it until today.
Roman: And........it’s for me?
Caroline: Yes, Roman.

She walks over to him and hands him the letter. As she places it in his hands, she hugs him and looks into his eyes, telling him..........

Caroline: I think this is the time that you should read it. And remember.........that you were his first baby, and he was very, very proud of you.

Caroline starts to cry as she leans in and kisses Roman on his cheek. She then leaves before she breaks down and, as Roman watches her, he then goes to sit down. He starts to sit in Shawn’s chair but stops, looks at it, then looks around........and sits on the couch next to it. He then opens the letter and starts reading...........

Dear Roman,

As I write this......I know I may never see you again. I hoped to have many children to follow in my footsteps but.......that will not happen now. So, I pass the torch to you. The future of our family and the Brady heritage is now in your hands, son. I know you are too young to understand this now, but, in time you will. There are certain things that I hold true and I past them on to you.

Any man can win when things go his way. It’s the man......who overcomes adversity, that is the true champion. And when your back is against the wall, remember......that a corner animal is the most dangerous. Keep your enemies close.......but your family, and your friends, even closer. And when things look darkest..........remember your history and your heritage. Never stop trying.....and never, let those bastards get you down.

The Brady name, and our family, can’t stop with me, or you. Perhaps, with God’s Grace, I may be back to stand beside you. As one day you will stand beside your son, and pass the torch to him. Should that not happen, I want you to know one simple thing.....

The scene then freeze frames on Roman, standing in front of Shawn’s painting.....


The scene then fades to black.

NOVEMBER 28, 2007-EPISODE #382: PILE ON PART II


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Jack chases Billie as she leaves the hospital. Billie rolls her eyes when Jack grabs her and says he just wanted to make sure she was ok. She has been acting strange since she was rescued earlier and he is worried about her with everything that has happened. Billie insists she is fine. Jack says that he and Abby saw how upset she was with Kate and how she disowned her. Billie says that's right and that is her business. She tells him to take Abby home and to leave her alone.

Jack says Forrest took her home because she was tired and admits he is stunned by her attitude and flying off the handle. He knows something is wrong. Billie finally loses it and tells him to back off and to stay out of her life and away from her. She wants nothing to do with him. Billie then stomps off, leaving behind a stunned and confused Jack as the scene shifts to...

Lucas and will sit by Sami's side, praying for her recovery. Will can't believe he may lost his mother again just as he has gotten her back. Lucas tells him not to give up. His mother is a fighter and they need to believe she will get through this. She needs their strength too. Will then kisses his mother's forehead and says he loves her while also telling her they need her to come back to them. Lucas gets up and prepares to walk out. Will asks where he is going. Lucas assures him he will be back.

Lucas walks outside where Maggie is waiting with Alice, Doug, and Julie. Lucas is stunned that Alice is still there as mostly everyone else went home to change and get some rest since it's late, except Roman and Marlena, who are in the chapel praying. Maggie tells Lucas they tried to get Alice to go home but she refused. She wanted to be there for him and Will. Lucas smiles. Maggie asks how he and Will are doing. Lucas just shakes his head and says it's hard and that he can't help but blame himself. Sami took that bullet for him.

Maggie tells him it's no one's fault but Orpheus' and that he needs to remember that. Lucas then says he thinks he will go outside and get some air. Ss he grabs his jacket, a note falls out. It's the note given to him earlier by a nurse. Maggie asks what that is. Lucas says that he was needed at Roberts, Inc. for something but it's not important. Maggie tells him to go ahead. She can keep an eye on Will and it may be important or something to do with his harassment case. It also may help him take his mind off. Julie agrees, saying there is nothing he can do with Sami just lying there.

Lucas reluctantly agrees to go but asks that they tell Will where he is and that they call if anything changes. Julie and Maggie agree and embrace Lucas before he leaves. Once he is gone, Julie asks if Alice wants anything to eat or drink. Alice says she would love some coffee. Julie asks Doug if he wants to come with her. They can talk along the way. Doug shakes his head and says that wouldn't be a good idea. A saddened Julie nods and then says she will be right back. Alice and Maggie both stare daggers at Doug, who asks what is wrong.

Maggie tells Doug that everyone can see he still loves Julie and that he can't bring himself to leave Salem for that reason. Doug cites Hope being MIA and all the family troubles as the reasons why he is still there. Maggie tells Doug to keep trying to convince himself and then adds that regardless of that, he is stringing along Julie. He needs to make a move, whether it's leaving town or not. He is giving her flase hope. Maggie then says she is going to check on Will and walks off as Doug turns and looks at Alice, who says that Julie is right.

Doug then turns and walks off to a corner in the waiting area and tells himself that they are right and he does have to make a move. He just wonders what that move is exactly. The scene then shifts to...

Lexie, who comes out of Stefano's room and tells Tony, Anna, Lincoln and Cassie that Stefano can see visitors now. Lexie goes back into the room where an awake Stefano takes her hand and says that Rich told her she saved his life. He kisses her hand and thanks her for what she did. He tells his daughter he will never forget it. Lexie says it's her job. Rich says he would like to talk to her about that and feels that while what she did was risky and wrong considering she isn't practicing medicine, he thinks it's a sign in a way. Lexie says it did feel right. Rich tells her he would support and endorse her if she considered applying for reinstatement at University Hospital. Stefano thinks that would be a splendid idea. Tony does as well. Lexie smiles and says she will think about it.

Rich tells Lexie to get back to him and says that Stefano will make a full recovery, thanks to her. Lexie smiles and Rich leaves. Anna then tells Tony she is going home to change. Tony asks if her staying so long and acting as if she is coming back is a sign. Anna smiles and urges him not to read too much into it as she may not be back. Anna then walks off, leaving Tony smiling. Stefano asks Lexie if it is known who shot him. Tony mentions that it appears he got caught in the mix of gunfire and that the police are saying Orpheus shot him. Lincoln adds that Orpheus was the only one aiming in his direction.

Stefano is shocked that his own son would shoot him again. Tony urges him to keep in mind this was the only time he knew Stefano was his father, not that it makes a difference. Cassie and Lexie remind Stefano to keep calm as he is still recovering. Stefano insists he is calm and tells Lincoln to find Orpheus and bring him to him. Lexie thinks that is a bad idea as Orpheus despises him. Stefano says he needs to see Orpheus and that nothing else matters. Lincoln nods and walks off as Lexie and Cassie say they hate this idea of his. Stefano insists he needs to his son, no matter what the risk. The scene then shifts to...

Maggie, who enters Sami's room. Maggie fills Will in on where Lucas went. Will doesn't like his dad being alone and says he worries about him when things like this happen, especially after how he fell apart when he thought his mom was dead. Maggie understands but assures Will that Lucas is strong and seemed fine when he left, given the circumstances. Will hopes that is the case. The scene shifts to...


ROBERTS, INC.

Lucas walks by the receptionist desk and is shocked to see no one there and no light on. He wonders what is going on. He sees his office light on in his office and enters to find a smiling Joelle standing up against his desk and saying she has been waiting for him. The scene shifts to...


BRADY PUB

Caroline brings some food out to Belle, who is holding Claire. Belle thanks her grandmother for making a meal for her so late with everything going on. Caroline says it's good to keep busy and she knows with everything that happened they hardly anyone had time to eat. Belle smiles and thanks her, saying she just needed to get something for Claire. Caroline says no problem and bids her good night. Belle does the same and leaves, running right into Philip. Claire says hello to her daddy and Philip kisses her and says it right back.

Belle asks if he is following her. Philip smiles and says so what if he is. He knows tonight has been rough for her and wants to make sure she is ok. Belle insists she is fine and she doesn't need him to comfort her. She has family and friends for that and asks that he backs off. She bids him good night and walks off as Philip smiles and says he is both family and a friend. He's her husband.

Meanwhile, Caroline is her room above the pub and is going through some old things, saying how comforting it is. She ends digging through some of Shawn's old things and begins to get emotional. Just then, an envelope falls out of a pile of books and it is addressed to Roman. Caroline wonders what it could be as the scene shifts to...


WAREHOUSE ON SALEM'S EAST SIDE

Nicole and Orpheus enter and Orpheus closes the door behind them. Nicole says he better hope he stashed the car in the right place. Orpheus thinks they are safe. He then asks Nicole what she wants in return for helping him since there has to be a price, of course. He then adds that he really didn't need her help. Nicole says yeah right and reminds him they made great partners once and she would like to revisit that, saying she feels they both need each other. Orpheus smiles and says he thought she hated him after Eric died on the ship. Nicole says she has decided to forget all that since Orpheus can make things up to her if he agrees to this partnership. Orpheus tells her to go on.

Nicole says she came across an interesting scene tonight at the Salem Towers Ball. Orpheus asks what she means. Nicole says she saw Hope Brady and Steve Johnson having sex in an office. Orpheus is stunned and wonders how that came about, figuring it must have something to do with their past. Nicole asks what past. Orpheus tells Nicole there is quite alot she doesn't know. Nicole urges him to share and, in return, she is his. She then puts her arms around him and whispers in his ear...

Nicole: All yours...I will be at your disposal...for anything.

Orpheus pushes her away, smiles and contemplates the offer. Nicole approaches him, holds out her hand and asks if they have a deal and if they are partners again. Orpheus looks down at her hand and then back up, thinks for a moment, and then smiles as he takes her hand and shakes it, saying they have a deal as the scene freeze frames on them shaking hands and then fades to black.

NOVEMBER 27, 2007-EPISODE #381: PILE ON


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Kayla walks out with Rich, telling Roman and Marlena they need permission to operate on Sami. She’s lost a lot of blood and they need to move fast. With everyone looking on, Marlena holds it together as her and Roman sign the necessary paperwork and, moments later, they see ER personnel rush Sami past them and toward the elevators. Marlena runs over and catches up, telling her little girl....

Marlena: You get well. You come back to us (Crying) or there will be hell to pay.

She then kisses her on her forehead and steps back. Roman then leans in and tells her....

Roman: You’ve came too far too far to leave us now. We’ll be right here. Take care, Peanut.

He also bends down and kisses Sami on her forehead. Kayla then tells them they must go......as Lucas and Will look on as the doors close. Will puts his hand on his father’s shoulder and all Lucas can do is blame himself, silently, for what has happened to her. Alice is then walked in by Doug and is helped to her seat near Julie. She then calls Lucas over and he slowly walks over to her.

When he reaches her,......he slowly starts to cry. Alice holds her arms open for her grandson and he falls to his knees and rests his head on her chest as she comforts Lucas. Everyone watches on as she tells him to be strong for Sami.....and stop blaming himself for any of this. She then says there is only one man to blame......

And Roman speaks up, saying one name......

Roman: Orpheus.

Roman then tells Marlena that he wants to make a quick phone call to Shane to see how the search is going and excuses himself. As Marlena and the others watch Roman leave....

He goes around the corner, where he can’t be heard,.......and makes a chilling phone call....

Roman: Well........I see you at least answer your own phone.
Orpheus: Roman.....nice to hear from you.
Roman: Just wanted to give you the update on what’s happening.
Orpheus: Oh.....by all means. Fill me in.
Roman: Ok. My daughter is in surgery right now........and we don’t know if she’s going to live.
Orpheus: Oh, Roman.......I’m so sorry to hear that. You know.....I’ll stop by later and give my best wishes.
Roman: And how will you do that, Orpheus?
Orpheus: Well, if she survives.......I can always pull the plug.

Orpheus starts laughing as Roman smiles, saying to him...

Roman: Laugh it up, !@#$%^&*]. But, remember this.
Orpheus: What’s that Roman?
Roman: If she does die this time.......after what you put her through......I’m coming for you, and hell’s coming with me. Did you hear that Orpheus......

Hell’s coming with me.

Roman hangs up his phone on a decidedly nervous Orpheus and, as he stands near Nicole....

Roman turns around......to see Marlena standing right there. They say nothing to each other.....as he walks up to her. He takes her into his arms and they hug deeply. Marlena knows she can’t stop Roman now and he knows what he must do....

Find Orpheus.......and destroy him......once and for all.

Bo walks in and pulls Victor to the side. As Hope watches him, Bo tells Victor that Hawk and Nico are turning up nothing. Lincoln walks into the waiting area and, off to the side and out of eye range, listens to the private conversation. Bo then tells Victor that he is calling in men from Europe to help on this one. Victor pats Bo on the shoulder, telling him good work. He also tells Bo to call a certain phone number and get in touch with a man named Gordon. He owes him several favors. Lincoln then walks away before being seen as Bo and Victor separate.

Meanwhile, back out front, Kate walks over slowly to Billie. She tries to speak to her, telling her that everything will be ok. Billie tells her that’s easy for her to say.....she doesn’t have DiMera blood running through her veins. Kate says that means nothing and Billie disagrees, saying that it means everything. Kate asks her to keep her voice down as others start to look over at the two of them. Kate then pulls her off to the side and tells her that she should look at Lexie as an inspiration for being a good person.

Billie agrees with her. She tells Kate that Lexie is a good person now......now, after she tried to steal Bo and Hope’s son and raise him as her own. She has cheated on Abe Lord knows how many times and has recently tried to take Theo away from him. That is what being a DiMera is, she tells Kate. It means hurting those around you until you get what you want, she says. Kate disagrees, saying Billie is better than that. Billie tells her what she thinks no longer matters....

And that’s why she wants nothing more to do with her. Kate is silent with shock as Billie continues, telling her through the tears that she’s not Lucas......she won’t say this and then tomorrow call her over for coffee with her and her new father. She is done. Period. From now on, Kate can go open her legs for anyone that has 5 bucks and it doesn’t matter to her. She tells Kate....

Billie: The worst day of my life......was when I realized YOU were my mother.

Billie then turns and walks away as Jack, Abby and the rest of the families look on at a crying and stunned Kate as she slowly walks out into the hallway, stops at a window, looks out into the night.....and cries her eyes out as Miranda stands behind her......smiling.


WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

Orpheus looks out into the alleyway and sees that, in the distance, law enforcement is looking for him but can’t find him. He then makes a call, telling one of his men to bring the car around. Nicole says that she either gets to come along.....or she starts screaming. Orpheus tells her she’ll be dead before her body hits the ground. But, for laughs, she can come.

Nicole smiles as they both race out. Once they make it to the car, a police officer spots them. Nicole jumps into the car as one of Orpheus’ men takes a shot at the officer. The man then gets back in the car as Shane runs up with weapon drawn and starts firing at Orpheus’s car as it drives off into the night.

Nicole tells Orpheus how much fun that was and Orpheus smiles.......right before he slaps her across the face. A shocked Nicole tells him that wasn’t necessary and Orpheus begs to differ. Nicole says that will cost him. Orpheus smiles, asking how much. Nicole says she needs money and power. There is one family she wants to see buried and he knows which one that is. After a few moments, Orpheus says they finally agree on something. He smiles at her as she smiles back and as the car drives off into the night.......

The scene shifts back to...


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Marlena walks over to the nurse’s desk. She stops and paces the floor as Roman slowly walks over. Bo and the rest of the family watch her as Shane walks in. Roman sees him and walks over to him, asking if Orpheus has been found. Shane pauses.....before telling him and everyone else listening that Orpheus escaped down by the warehouse district. His agents gave chase.......but no luck.

Shane then walks slowly over to Marlena, telling her how sorry he is. All she can say is....

Marlena: Don’t be sorry.......just find the bastard who hurt my baby.

Shane nods his head as he makes a call on his cell phone and Roman then steps up to comfort Marlena. She breaks down as he hugs her, saying that it’s all her fault. Roman says he’s really tired of everyone blaming themselves for what Orpheus did. Marlena turns and looks Roman in the eyes, saying....

Marlena: They way he acts.......I could swear he’s a DiMera. The world would be so much better if that whole family were wiped off the face of the Earth!

Billie hears this, turns, and runs out of the waiting area. Kate sees her leave and takes off after her as Marlena collapses in Roman’s arms once again......sobbing deeply. Jack and Abby wonder what made Billie run off like that.......as Forrest slips out the waiting area and makes a phone call. It’s to a contact he has......inside the I.S.A. He asks if that briefcase with Roman’s name on it is still at the scene. He doesn’t like what he hears and, as he turns to look at the family, tells his contact to find it......

Before it’s too late. Forrest then walks away........

And, as Roman comforts Marlena, Max asks Caroline if she needs anything and all she says is for her granddaughter to be fine. Stephanie, Frankie and Belle try to comfort her, as Philip looks on. Kayla says she is going to go see how Sami is doing as Lexie walks into the waiting area. She says that they are taking another shooting victim into surgery right now. As Tony, Cassie and Anna walk in, Lexie says Stefano was shot as well.....and may not make it. Frankie pipes up and says....

Frankie: Boy....if I had a dime for every time I heard that......

Everyone gives off a nervous laughter. But not Tony, who says that Stefano needs to die......so everyone can finally have peace. Cassie grows enraged by this, telling Tony that he was never any type of son to Stefano and that he should be grateful for everything Stefano did for him. Tony agrees......saying that Stefano was responsible for the death of both his daughters, having Roman Brady going on the run for a strangling he didn’t commit, changing his cousin Andre’s face so they would look alike, kidnapping the Brady children, shooting Roman......the list goes on and on! So, he tells Cassie, she needs to remember the history of that man before she calls herself lecturing him! Anna and everyone else is stunned by Tony’s outburst and Cassie runs off in tears.

Rich then walks in, telling Lexie how shocked he is by how she saved Stefano’s life. Abe walks up behind her and she says it’s what she was trained to do. Lexie wipes away her tears and, as Abe holds her from behind,........Joelle sees Lucas grieving. She then gets an idea and walks around the corner to make a phone call. She calls the nurse’s station and tells the nurse who answered that Lucas is needed at Roberts Inc. immediately. She then hangs up and walks back around the corner....

Long enough to see the nurse give Lucas the message. She then smiles evilly as Lucas gets up to walk out. Victor walks past Joelle, giving Maggie a cup of coffee. He tells her that, with Orpheus on the loose,......everyone needs to be very careful. Maggie says she will......and Victor looks up to see Kayla and the surgeon come into the waiting area. Lucas and Will walk over as everyone moves in close. The doctor then speaks, telling Roman, Marlena, Will, Lucas and everyone else.......

Doctor: Well........we stopped the bleeding. She is one strong lady.
Roman: She’s a Brady.
Doctor: Right. (Sighing) Let me be clear. We have brought her back. But.......she has lost a tremendous amount of blood. It’s a miracle that she was alive when she reached us.
Marlena: Get on with it. What are you saying?!
Doctor: Sorry. The damage that she has received......and the loss of blood.......has caused Samantha to slip into a coma.

Everyone gasps as Marlena cries in Roman’s arms, Lucas tries to comfort Will, and everyone looks around in sadness. As Victor, Bo and Steve look at Roman, through his tears, he says one simple thing......

Roman: That’s it. I’ve had enough. I’m ending this....once and for all. As God is my witness......

Orpheus and Stefano...........are dead men. May God have mercy on their souls.

Marlena cries in Roman’s arms as everyone looks at him with stunned silence and as the scene freeze frames on his determined face......

It slowly fades to black.

HORTON HOUSE

Alice and Doug continue to watch the happenings of the hostage crisis on TV, horrified at what they are watching. Alice tells Doug to get her coat and warm up the car. She wants to be at the hospital when Sami arrives to be there for Lucas. Doug tells Alice it's late but it doesn't matter to her. She tells Doug she will just take a cab if he won't take her. Doug reluctantly agrees, hands her coat to her, and goes to warm the car as the scene shifts to...


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Marlena, Belle, Kayla Will, Lucas and the EMT's are knelt down next to a bleeding, unconscious Sami. The EMT's are beginning the process of transferring her. Lucas begs Sami to wake up and then blames himself as she took a bullet for him. Marlena tells him to stay back and to give her, Kayla and the EMT's room to work. She also tells him not to blame himself. Kate is standing nearby and finally decides to try to reach out to Lucas. She tries to assure him that Sami is a fighter and that she will be alright. Lucas throws her arms off of him and tells her he knows she hates Sami and warns her not to bother him with her fake concern. Kate says she will back off and walks away.

The EMT's get Sami on a gurney and prepare to load her on to an ambulance. Marlena looks over at Shane...who is dealing with a desperate Hope, Maggie, Stephanie and Cassie. Hope tells Shane he should have info by now on how was shot insider. Shane apologizes. Marlena walks over and says that Sami is being transferred but she needs to know if Roman and the others are alright. Shane says she can go ahead and he or someone else can let know. Marlena doesn't think she can do that. Just then, officers and S.W.A.T team members walk out with Miranda and Victor. Maggie races into his arms. Abe and Steve then follow. Lexie is about to race over to Abe but stops herself. Roman and Bo then appear...helping a wounded Stefano out of the building.

Stefano is laid on the ground. Lexie and Cassie race over to him. Roman says that there was a shootout and Stefano took a bullet for Orpheus. Lexie wonders why he would do that. Marlena says it's because Orpheus is his son. Lexie is stunned and wonders why she was never told. Tony says it never came up and he left it up to Stefano. Lexie asks how Tony knows but then says he can tell her later. She asks where Stefano was hit. Bo says in the chest. Stefano is semi-conscious and whispers to Lexie he can't breathe. Lexie calls for EMT's but no one comes over. Lexie begs for help but Steve tells her they must be busy with the many gunshot victims inside. Lexie thinks they would be racing over if they did not see Stefano Dimera lying here.

Bo and Hope, Roman and Marlena, Victor and Maggie, and Steve and Kayla share emotional reunions as they embrace and kiss lovingly. Stephanie and Steve also reunite. Marlena tells Roman about Sami. Lucas interjects and blames himself. Roman says it doesn't matter. They need to get to the hospital. Roman asks Abe to keep him up to date on Orpheus. Abe says he has all the manpower he can spare on it and thinks they all need to get to the hospital and have their injuries tended to. Kayla agrees that the men that went inside need to get cleaned up. Hope and Maggie also agree and won't hear otherwise. They all head for the hospital. On the way, Victor sees Hawk now with Nico and tells them both to start their own search for Orpheus and to keep him updated.

Lexie asks where everyone is going. Abe says those that were insider, including himself, need treatment and tells her that EMT's will be over when they can. There are many injuries. Lexie thinks that is BS and says she will save her father herself. Cassie begs Lexie to save him and asks what is wrong with him. Lexie looks him over and thinks something is blocking his air passage and it may be related to the bullet lodged in him. She tries to think of what to do as Stefano continues to struggle to breathe.

Meanwhile, in a nearby warehouse district, Orpheus races down an alley, hoping he lost the police and S.W.A.T. team members who were after him. He then hears and sees more coming and races off, confused as to how to get out of this. He then hears someone call out to him. He turns to his left and is stunned to see Nicole, who tells him to come with her. He asks how she found him and why she is there. She says to nevermind. He asks why he should trust her. She tells him he has no other choice. Orpheus thinks for a moment and then begins to follow her. They then race off together into the night as the scene shifts to...

Lexie, who is still thinking about what to do. Tony urges her to just let him die. Cassie tells her father not to say that. Anna tells Tony to be sympathetic, even if this is Stefano. Stefano loses consciousness and Lexie is forced to do CPR. Lexie then realizes she can do a tracheotomy. She gets Stefano stabilized and races to an ambulance and comes back with a knife and a breathing tube. She makes an incision near Stefano's neck as Cassie and Anna cringe. Lexie sets up the breathing tube and begins to blow into it to give Stefano air. An EMT comes over and asks what she is doing. Lexie explains and the EMT apologizes for not coming over. He thinks what she did was dangerous. Lexie says she is a former doctor and worked at University. The EMT doesn't remember her but thinks they could use her back on staff there. Lexie smiles. The EMT works on Stefano and calls for a gurney. Cassie asks if Stefano will be ok now. Lexie says she hopes so as the scene shifts to...


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Alice and Doug are now there and join Maggie and Julie in comforting Lucas and Will as they pray for Sami's survival. Julie tells Doug they need to put their differences aside for the family right now. He agrees. Victor returns and says he has been treated. Maggie is just happy he is alright. As is Philip. Victor worries about Orpheus. Maggie tells him to leave that to the police. Bo, Abe, Steve, and Roman return after being treated. Marlena is with Frankie, Max, Stephanie, Caroline, Belle, and Philip and tells the men that Kayla is in the ER with Rich so they can keep them updated and that Sami has lost alot of blood. Roman comforts her and says their daughter is a fighter and has come this far. She'll make it. Abe calls his men for an update. Shane then walks in and gives Abe the rundown, saying there is no sign of Orpheus in or around the building. This angers Abe, Roman, Steve, Bo, and Victor.

Meanwhile, Miranda and Kate have been treated and Miranda asks how it feels to have lost all her children and to now be alone. Kate gives her a cold look and walks away. Forrest tells Abby he has to handle business and will catch up with her later. Abby thanks him for his support. Abby then heads over to Jack, who is nearby, and asks if Billie is out yet. Billie then comes out of a cubicle. Jack says she has said nothing since emerging from the building and seems upset. He asks if she is ok. Billie is silent and tells Jack to just leave her alone and walks away, leaving a confused Jack and Abby behind. The scene shifts back to the...

ER, where Kayla watches as Rich works on Sami. He is stunned by the amount of blood and says they need to get her up to surgery. Just then, she flatlines and Rich calls a code blue. He breaks out the paddles and charges them, determined to get Sami's heart started again as Kayla watches, hoping and praying Sami survives as the scene fades to black.

THIS WEEK'S WRITER IN THE HOT SHEET: TIM LOWERY (PHOENIXRISING05)

1.) The Joelle story was pushed back to the backburner in November. When will it pick up steam again?

A: This week. Joelle will up the ante this week big time and we will build to an explosive turn of events at the end of December.

2.) What is the deal with this mysterious stranger that has been watching Joelle, Lucas, and Will?

A: Keep an eye on that person as they will play a pivotal role in what's ahead.

3.) Is the Frankie/Greta romance about to take off?

A: They have alot to work through individually but they will be getting closer. December will be a nice month for them. Their bond is getting stronger.

4.) I was so happy to see Lexie, Celeste, Belle and Philip back in the mix. Will they be more involved now?

A: Yes. We are building some stuff with Belle and Philip and Lexie does something this week that will change her life a bit. Things will slowly be picking up for all 4 of them.

5.) Alyson and Alex have been sharing scenes lately. Is a romance in the future?

A: We will see where it goes. They both have some interesting things coming up and this may be the start of something. We'll see how fans respond and see if it takes off.

BIG CASTING NEWS!!! IT'S HORTON MANIA!! PLUS, SHAUGHNESSY BACK WITH PEASE AND CLARK TO FOLLOW!!



Last Friday, fans were stunned to see the shocking return of the newly promoted Shane Donovon (Charles Shaughnessy) and it looks like that may be only the start in what is a long line of returns. Shaughnessy, who left Salem Lives in August with on screen love interest Patsy Pease (Kimberly), will be sticking around for quite awhile.

"We wanted it to be a surprise and the fans seemed to like it," says EP/HW Tim Lowery. "It came off well and we always planned on bringing him back and it seemed like the time."

As for Pease, she will be returning too this December for the holidays and beyond. "She will be back around mid-December and will stick around into January if not later," says Lowery. "We will get into what Shane and her have been up to and they will have some Brady family issues to deal with."

Speaking of Brady family issues, Christie Clark (Carrie) is also making a return visit to Salem. Clark left the show in August when Carrie left Salem with her baby son, Evan. "She will be back to be with the family during Sami's crisis," says Lowery. "However, the way she is brought back is something the fans will be stunned by. It lays the groundwork for major story, that's for sure." Look for Clark to return in mid-December.

And, last but not least, look for the return of several Horton's in December for the holidays and for a huge Horton event. The list of returning Horton's is as follows:

We always like to bring back legacy characters like these and to utilize them in a way that serves a purpose is always great. it should be fun." Look for the Horton returns to take place during Christmas week.

As to whether this is the end of the returns, Lowery is keeping mum. "There is some other things in the works but the fans will have to keep an eye out for that," hints Lowery. "December and beyond is exciting. November was just the beginning. We've never been better and we will show the fans that. Salem Lives is really in a good place and we are excited for what is to come."

CATCHING UP WITH: VALERIE WILDMAN (EX-FAY, DAYS,SL)

Valerie Wildman (who played Fay Walker on Days from 1999-2003) recently made her first appearance on SL as the mother of Nicole Walker-Brady and her two out of Salem siblings, Brandon and Taylor Walker. We recently sat down briefly with Valerie to discuss whether she would continue to make appearances on SL, among other things.

SLI: Thanks for talking with us, Valerie.

VW: No problem. Nice to be here.

SLI: Why don't you tell us about your experience on Days and what you have been doing since then?

VW: Days was fantastic. I didn't get alot of airtime but, when I did, my material was usually great. I loved the Paul/Fay relationship story and wish I had more scenes where we dealt with their relationship. It was a wonderful experience and I loved working with Ari (anne Zuker, Nicole) and Matt (Cedano, ex-Brandon). I loved the character. Since I left, which I kind of just faded away (laughs), I've been doing some minor work in films and primetime. Nothing much. I've been busy with family and such.

SLI: What did you think of Salem Lives during your recent appearance?

VW: I thought it was wonderful before and I thought it was wonderful being there. The atmosphere is great and everyone seems to be on a creative high. It's exciting and I enjoyed it. Even before my appearance, I noticed a change for the better. The feel of the show is great and it seems so alive and vibrant.

SLI: Would you return to SL in any capacity?

VW: Definitely. They told me there is a good chance they will be using me again soon and I'm up for that. I loved it so, when they call, I will be down there in a heartbeat.

SLI: Thanks so much, Valerie. Hope to speak with you again.

VW: Sure. Definitely. Thanks for having me.

NOVEMBER 23, 2007-EPISODE #379: DOOMSDAY PART II


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

The gun battle rages on at the entrance to the tower. Team members and I.S.A. agents shield Stefano and Victor...as dead men fall everywhere. The citizens watch in horror at the death before them. The team members, police and agents are starting to lose the battle....and, as Abe tells the men to fall back, something happens that finally tips the scales into their favor.......

When a fleet of helicopters comes up from the other side of the building across the street and opens fire into the windows of the tower. Orpheus’ men start to fall as Stefano and Victor’s men, along with other team members, wipe out Orpheus’ muscle in the lobby and on the street in front of the tower. One of the helicopters lands on the street and, when it opens up,.....a person wearing a black helmet steps out, brandishing a machine gun. The person walks up to the group of men and, when this person removes the helmet....

It shows the face of the I.S.A.’s new Chief Of The North American Bureau.....Shane Donovan! Roman and the others shake Shane’s hand as he tells them...

Shane: No time to waste. Get up there and bring those people home.
Roman: I don’t know what to say.
Shane: No matter what.....we’re still family, Roman. You’ll have backup. Now.....snap to it.

Abe looks at the group and orders....

Abe: You heard the man........LET’S MOVE!!!

The men then storm the entrance to the building as the patrons on the ground watch......and pray.....for everyone’s safe return.

Roman, Bo & Steve make it upstairs to Orpheus’ penthouse. Men from across the street, on rooftops, train their weapons onto every window of the apartment as the three men, along with S.W.A.T. team members and I.S.A. agents, make their way inside. Men and women fan out all over the building and Roman looks around frantically for his little girl.

Miranda then kicks the door open, weapon drawn, and the men aim at her in a split second. No one opens fire but, as Stefano and Victor walk into the room, she identifies herself as Kate and Billie come running out of the room. Team members take both women out of the room.......as Billie stops and stares at Stefano. He looks at her confused and Kate walks back over, takes Billie’s hand, and leads her out as Stefano and Victor watch them leave.

As men look for Orpheus, Roman yells for his peanut......

Roman: SAMI!!! Sami, it’s me! Are you alright?!

At that wonderful moment, Roman hears a voice he knew was silent for the rest of his life. A voice that says just one simple word............

Sami: Daddy?

A crying Sami slowly walks out of a side room as Roman turns and sees her. Tears flow from his eyes as he runs up to her........and father and daughter embrace warmly as the others look on. Even Stefano smiles as everyone hears the exchange between the two......

Sami: (crying) Hi, Daddy.
Roman: (crying) Hi, Peanut.
Sami: He had me the whole time, Daddy.
Roman: (hugging Sami) Yes. Yes, I know. But......you’re safe now, ok?
Sami: Ok.
Roman: Your mother and everyone is down on the street waiting to see you. We all thought you were gone......forever........
Sami: I know. I tried to get away. I really did.
Roman: I know, peanut. I know. Orpheus kept threatening you, didn’t he?
Sami: Yes. He said he would kill all of you.
Roman: Well............I’m about to deal with him, ok? You go with the officers........and I’ll be back directly.
Sami: No, Daddy.......come with me, please.
Roman: Peanut..........he has to pay. He went too far, baby. You just........you just tell your mother.....that I love her, ok? Will you do that for me?
Sami: Ok.

As Sami starts to walk away,......Orpheus comes out of the shadows,......dragging a dead officer with him. He points a gun at Roman............as Roman shields Sami to the elevator so she can escape. Miranda stays behind and, as the door opens,.........Shane takes Sami and listens as Roman tells him to get her out of there. Shane grabs Sami’s hand as the door closes in front of them........

And the stand-off between these two hated enemies now reaches a fever pitch....

Orpheus: (dropping the dead officer) Looks like you have saved your little girl. Splendid. Too bad your life ends here......
Roman: My life? You bastard.......how dare you act arrogant? Guess we’ll have to do something about that......

Roman pulls out a device. After he activates it,.......he tells Orpheus......

Roman: Time to show you how truly serious I am.


WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

Roman then presses two buttons......and, in the warehouse district, four huge warehouse structures explode in huge fireballs. The people in front of the building can hear the explosions as, back in the penthouse, Orpheus demands to know what just happened.....

Roman: Oh that? Those were four of the warehouses you store weaponry in. $60 million dollars of equipment....gone. I’ve had a lot of time on my hands since quitting the force and, when my daughter was......killed, shall we say......it gave me time to.....

Reflect.

Orpheus drops his gun ever so slightly, enraged at this insult, and tells Roman.....

Orpheus: You..........disgusting little man. I must commend you though.......guess I didn’t hide them as well as I should have.
Roman: Guess you didn’t.......old friend.

As the Salemites wait down on the street,........they see people starting to run out of the building. Jack sees Billie and breaks the police line and they run toward each other and embrace. Lucas and Will see Kate and, as the crowd cheers, they run up to her and the three of them share a warm reunion. Cassie, Marlena and the others look toward the entrance....but don’t see anyone else emerging form the building. Police and team members hurry Billie and Kate to waiting ambulances....

As the tense stand-off in the tower continues......

Stefano tells Orpheus to end this. He and Victor have agreed to his terms....so why must he continue? Orpheus says that as long as Roman Brady lives.....his life is meaningless. Stefano tells him that is not true and Orpheus tells him not to buddy up to him now. He then has one of his men bring out a briefcase.....with Roman’s name on. He says that it holds the secrets to what happened to him the two years he was gone. Roman is silent.......and Orpheus says that no matter what their connection is........he knows what’s really important. Victor asks what does that mean and Bo, Steve & Roman look at Orpheus, waiting for an answer. But, before he can say a word.....

Hawk steps up from behind him and places the barrel of a .357 Magnum directly on his temple. This move causes all the men in the room,......including Orpheus’ men, to pull their weapons. Orpheus’ right hand man, Michael, steps from the shadows and points his gun at Victor while Victor points at Orpheus. Lincoln then slowly walks up toward Hawk and both men put weapons at each other. Orpheus, in turn, points his weapon at Bo’s head, who is pointing his gun at one of Orpheus’ men. Stefano points at Roman and Steve points at Stefano and Lincoln at the same time.......while Roman aims his gun directly at Orpheus’s right eye, saying........

Roman: If my brother is shot,......we all die here tonight.
Orpheus: More threats. So, so boring.

Bo and Roman look into each other’s eyes as Bo tells him.....

Bo: Don’t listen to him, bro. Take aim and blow his [!@#$%^&*] head off!!!
Orpheus: I wouldn’t do that, Roman.
Roman: Well, little brother,.....you’ve gotten yourself into a fine mess this time, haven’t you?

Both men chuckle as Bo tells Roman.....

Bo: Do me a favor. Tell Hope........tell her, she’s the world to me. Ok? Will you do that for me, bro?
Roman: You can tell her yourself.
Victor: Orpheus,.....if you harm one hair on my son’s head, I’ll.......
Orpheus: Keep your cool, Victor. So, I guess this is the part in the movies where the bad guy says.......so touching. But......I’m tired of this. Time to end it......here, and now.
Roman: With pleasure, Orpheus........

And then, in slow motion, Bo ducks down and fires his gun at Orpheus’ man as Roman takes deadly aim at Orpheus.....

And everyone on the street looks towards the top of the tower as they see flashes of light going off in the penthouse. Marlena screams out loud as Sami and Shane come out of the building. Marlena turns and looks toward the entrance of the building and, as the shooting stops in the tower,.........Sami and Marlena lock eyes.

Marlena steps under the police tape and starts walking slowly toward Sami, who is crying heavily as she walks toward her mother. Marlena, clutching Roman’s wedding ring, then takes her coat off and runs toward her baby girl as Sami runs into her arms.....

And mother and daughter, reunited, embrace.....

Marlena: My baby......my baby.......
Sami: Hi, Mom. How are you?

Marlena puts her coat around Sami as police surround them both........

Marlena: I’m fine now, baby. God has answered my prayers........you are alive........
Sami: But, daddy is still up there.

Marlena refuses to tell Sami about the gunfight that just occurred in the tower and tells Sami.....

Marlena: Your daddy can handle himself. Trust me, Sami, ok?
Sami: Ok.

Marlena holds Sami tightly as the police rush them past the police line and to a waiting ambulance.

The scene shifts to twenty minutes later......and there still isn’t any word from the tower. As everyone kisses and hugs everyone else,.......there is a palpable tension in the air. Cassie paces back and forth. Alexandra holds tightly onto her coat as Hope and Kayla hold onto one another. Jack holds Billie’s hand.......as she stays in shock over being a member of the DiMera family. Frankie, Max, and Stephanie comfort Caroline. Tony comforts Anna. Philip tries to comfort Belle but she backs away.

And Lucas and Will look around for Sami. They know she’s out there but haven’t been able to find her. Just then, an officer comes running past the crowd.......and goes up to Shane. He tells him some news that makes Shane’s face drop with sorrow. Shane then pats the officer on his shoulder and, as the officer races off,.....Shane gathers everyone around, to deliver the news.......

Shane: I have just received word.......that a man is down in the tower. At the present time,.....we do not know the identity of this man. That is being efforted as we speak. Please, stay calm......and when I find out, I will let you all know.

As Shane walks toward the tower, citizens panic over his news. At that moment, Lucas turns around........and locks eyes with Sami. Lucas then grabs Will and turns him around.....so he can see his mother once again. Tears flow from Lucas’ eyes and, as he starts walking toward Sami.....

She takes off Marlena’s coat and starts walking toward Lucas. Will stands still, crying, as he gives his mother and father this wonderful moment.......and, as they get closer to each other, Lucas tells Sami....

Lucas: My lady.........I have missed you.
Sami: I never left you, my darling. Never.

As they get closer, Sami smiles at Lucas.......and then her smile slowly fades away and it is replaced.....with utter horror. Sami stares at Lucas’ chest.....and sees a red dot right on his heart. She turns to see someone pointing a scope at Lucas.......and, as the scene zooms into the window, a bloody Michael, Orpheus’ man, takes aim at Lucas......

In slow motion, Sami races toward Lucas, pointing at his chest. Marlena and everyone turns after Sami yells at Lucas. Lucas looks down, sees the dot pointing to his heart, and looks toward the building. At that moment, before Lucas can even move.......

Sami turns.............and jumps in front of Lucas. A shot rings out and everyone hits the ground. Sami falls into Lucas’ arms and they both collapse to the ground. Once he sits up, holding Sami, he tells her to wake up. Officers, team members and agents fire at the window were the shot came from.....

And Lucas looks down at Sami. But.......she is unconscious. Lucas tries to wake her........and then sees the blood coming from her chest. It takes moments for it to sink in and then Lucas screams.....

Lucas: HELP!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!

Will and Marlena run toward the couple as Lucas cries, holding Sami tightly. Paramedics rush over to help and all Lucas can do is hold a lifeless Sami.......

As the scene freeze frames while he kisses her forehead.......and then slowly fades to black.

Lucas and Will come racing up to the barricade and try to force their way through. The police stop them both and tell Lucas that he can't go anywhere. He says that his fiance is in that building but the officer stands firm. As Will and Lucas try once again to go past the officer,......he pulls his gun, and threatens to arrest them if they don't listen to reason.

The officer then looks at both men, saying that he feels exactly the same way they do. But.....neither of them is trained for this type of action. The men agree and thank the officer as they walk away.

As they go to another part of the police line, they go and stand by Marlena, who holds out both her hands for them. Will and Lucas take each hand.....and silently pray that their nightmare could be over....

Once and for all.

Abe walks over to the three men and asks them what they have decided. Victor and Stefano agree to exchange themselves for Sami and the others. Abe nods his head as Roman walks over and thanks Victor. He then turns and looks at Stefano........and walks away. Maggie walks over to Victor, looks at her man with sadness, and tells him.....

Maggie: I didn’t think I could love like this again after Mickey.
Victor: Neither did I.
Maggie: You come back to me........ok?
Victor: Yes, my darling. If I should not return.......

Victor takes off a locket that Isabella gave him before she died........

Victor: Make sure Greta receives this. (Getting emotional) She’s my little girl, and......
Maggie: You be strong, now. And you’ll get this when you come back.
Victor: Thank you, my darling. Bye.

Victor and Maggie gently kiss and he takes one last look at her before turning and walking away. Maggie starts to cry as Hope runs over and holds her. Maggie rests her head on Hope’s shoulder.

Victor then sees Nico and tells him to use his best judgment when the stuff really kicks off. Nico nods his head......and, in front of everyone, the two old friends hug each other and shake hands. Victor tells Nico to look after his family for him.....and Nico looks at his Godfather and simply says....

Nico: As always, Victor.

And, as Nico and Victor separate.....

Roman and Marlena walk off to the side of the crowd and have a private moment......

Roman: I don’t know what to say.
Marlena: Just say what’s in your heart.
Roman: (After a pause) Ok. The face....... is different........but my heart..... will always be yours.
Marlena: Oh, Roman.........
Roman: Forgive me.......for all my mistakes.

Maggie, Hope, Victor, Bo and the others watch this loving exchange......

Marlena: We have been through so much......
Roman: Yes. We have.
Marlena: (Starting to cry) You remember one thing, Cop.
Roman: What’s that, lady?
Marlena: The sleeping bag will always be there.......for you. Come home to me.
Roman: And I’ll bring our little girl back as well.

Roman takes off his wedding ring. It’s the ring he’s had on since he first found out he was Roman Brady and places it in Marlena’s hand........

Roman: For you.
Marlena: Oh.......

He then looks into her beautiful eyes and kisses her on the lips. Marlena grabs and holds him tightly. They pull away as he tells her.....

Roman: You tell our children.......they mean the world to me. Bye, Doc.

Roman turns and walks past Stefano on his way to the S.W.A.T. unit as the women walk over and comfort her. Stefano stops him and tells him to make sure not to shoot him. Roman looks at him, smiles ever so slightly, and walks away. Meanwhile, Marlena clutches Roman’s ring in her hand and, as she starts crying.......


HORTON HOUSE

Alice and Doug sit in front of the television, watching the hostage scene unfold. Alice tells Doug to have faith. Doug says he doesn’t know how they are going to get out of this one. Alice looks at him and simply says........with love and faith. That’s all any of them have ever had. As Doug turns his attention back to the television, Alice closes her eyes and says a small prayer.....

Alice: Tom......I know you are listening. Here my prayer, my darling.......and bring them all home safely.

Alice opens her eyes and watches the television......


ORPHEUS'S PENTHOUSE

Stefano sees Lincoln walking up to him. He approaches him and, as they talk, he tells him to place their men into position. He then orders that they open fire if any shots ring out. Lincoln agrees.........and both men shake hands. Stefano then looks at the building and tells Lincoln.....

Stefano: So many regrets, my friend. So many.

Lincoln is stunned to see this side of Stefano as he walks off toward the S.W.A.T. team. Cassie tries to walk up to him but he holds her back. He then smiles, kisses her on her cheek and forehead, and quietly tells her that, even with the mistakes she’s made, she has been a gift and a joy to have in his life. She starts to cry, telling her “Papa” not to leave her. He says he must go.....but for her to continue to become the fine woman she is and to listen to her father. He’s a good, good man and she is lucky to have him.

Roman and Victor turn and see this scene........as Stefano gives Cassie his gold money clip, that was given to him by his father, Santo. He then kisses her again......and walks off before he starts getting emotional. He reaches the truck and regains his composure, saying to the small group of men....

Stefano: The Phoenix never cries........don’t you know that?

Roman and Victor can’t help but smile. As the scene shifts, Bo looks at Hope. It is their turn to say what they feel and Bo wastes no time....

Bo: Well.........you know the play.
Hope: I sure do.
Bo: I guess the scene is reversed now. When Ernesto had you in that cage,........I knew that was it. I had to say goodbye to you. I can’t seem to do that now.
Hope: It’s not goodbye, Bo. Just so long.....for a little while.
Bo: Ok. But........I have something..........

Nico runs up with Bo’s black leather jacket, gives it to him, and he wraps it around Hope, saying.....

Bo: This will keep you warm, Fancy Face. Always.
Hope: (Crying) Oh, Bo....
Bo: Bye, lady.
Hope: Be safe.

They kiss as well. Bo then turns and walks off. Steve and Kayla see this and Kayla looks at him, asking him if he is going to join them. Steve says......

Steve: Family needs me, Sweetness.
Kayla: I don’t want you to go......but, people are in trouble. (Starting to cry) You just remember one thing, ok?
Steve: What’s that, baby?
Kayla: You are the finest man........I’ve ever known. I love you so much.
Steve: (Kissing her gently) Bye, Sweetness. Tell Stephanie..........to be a good girl.

He walks off as well, readjusting his eye patch, as the women then gather behind the police line and watch their men walk off as a group to get ready.

Inside the suite, Miranda looks on as Sami starts getting on Kate’s nerves. She is asking so many questions to her and Billie that Kate yells out for her to shut up. Sami tells her that she already has gotten the taste slapped out of her mouth once tonight.....would she like to go for double or nothing? Orpheus tells them to be silent.......as the helicopters land on the roofs across the street and deploy S.W.A.T. team members.

As he orders his men to start taking positions..........

Tony walks over to the group of men as they get ready. He says to Stefano that he has done it again. Stefano tells him to keep quiet and to watch after Cassie. Tony says that’s what he means. Because of his tie to Orpheus, none of them are safe. Roman asks what that mean.......and Stefano tells him to mind his business. Roman and Stefano almost come to blows as they are separated, with Victor telling them they should be ashamed acting like this now.

Tony bids Stefano farewell........then admits that, after all the hell he’s put him through, he’s kinda hoping this IS the last time he sees him. Tony then stares at the man who raised him.......and spits at his feet. He turns and walks away as Victor and the others just shake their heads, with Steve saying.......

Steve: Your award for Father Of The Year is back at the Pub.

As he walks away, Abe joins them and starts putting on his gear. Alexandra stands off to the side, smiling. Abe turns and sees this........and walks over to her. They look at each other.......and then join in a very loving embrace. They then kiss each other gently and, without saying a word, she walks back over to the police line and he walks back over to the team. Stefano looks at Abe with disgust and Abe looks back at him, saying......

Abe: One word, old man.........and I’m beating the living [!@#$%^&*] out of you.......right here, right now, ok?

Abe smiles and continues to put on his gear......while the other men chuckle at the exchange.

At that moment, Jack, Frankie and Max run up to the team, wanting to join in on the raid. Abe tells them that it is not safe for them. Frankie says that their niece is in there and Max then asks if they don’t have the right to bring her home. Bo then walks over and says that the adopted [!@#$%^&*] stopped years ago. They are Bradys and as Bradys they need to be down on the street with the women right now. Max takes this as a chance to be near Abby as Frankie agrees with them.

Plus, Roman adds......does any of them have any police or hostage training? The men are silent. Jack then tells Steve to be careful.......and to make sure everyone, including Billie, makes it out safely. Steve looks at his brother, walks over and ask him......

Steve: How deep is it, Billy Jack?
Jack: It’s deep, Steve.
Steve: That’s great to hear, man. Jennifer would be happy.
Jack: I think so. She’s a good woman, Steve.
Steve: I know......and she’ll be brought back to you. I promise.

The two men shake hands and then Steve once again rejoins the group. As the men finish preparing, S.W.A.T. team members, Victor’s men, and Stefano’s men start taking their positions. Victor then looks off to the side.......and nods his head in approval as he sees Hawk, dressed in S.W.A.T gear, sneaking into the back of the building.

The women watch the men take positions and Jack holds Abby.......as Forrest and Max watch from a distance. Upstairs, Sami and the others are lead into separate rooms as Orpheus pulls out his gun and loads it. Down on the street, men are running everywhere, locking and loading their weapons. Stephanie holds Kayla, Hope holds onto Maggie, and as Julie holds Belle as Philip stands behind her, Lucas and Will hold onto Marlena. They all are locked onto the scene.....

As the men place S.W.A.T. helmets on their heads. Abe looks at all the men and tells them......

Abe: No matter what........I’m not losing anyone tonight........is that clear?

The men look at each other as Roman says.....

Roman: You got it, partner.

Abe orders the men to lock and load as Stefano and Victor close and button their coats. In the suite, Orpheus sees that the men are ready. Sami gets down on the ground.....and, in another room, Kate, Miranda and Billie sit against a wall. All three women forget their anger for one another right now....

And grab each other’s hands. They all close their eyes and pray silently.......

As Roman, Bo, Steve, and Abe shield Stefano and Victor, they start toward the building. The women and the other men look on in dread......and, as they reach the building....

Orpheus picks up his walkie talkie........and orders his men to.........

Orpheus: Open fire.

Shots ring out, and, in slow motion, glass starts shattering everywhere. Marlena screams and tries to break the police line, as do the others, and Abe gives the order to open fire as well. Men from rooftops start shooting and, inside the building, Hawk makes his way up to the penthouse in Orpheus’s private elevator.

Bullets fly everywhere....... and team members fall as Roman, Bo, Abe and Steve try to protect Victor and Stefano. At that moment, both of them reach into their coats, pull out their own weapons.......and open fire at Orpheus’s men as well. And, as death reigns down on the streets of Salem.....

The scene suddenly goes black, with the echoes of gunfire and screams fading off into the distance.

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Greta is sitting in her room when Caroline, Frankie, Stefano, Tony, Lexie, Cassie, and Abe walk in. Patricia and Barbara follow close behind. Greta asks what is going on. Frankie fills her in on Cassie's confession and asks Greta if she still feels ready to make a statement now. Greta reminds Frankie she told him she was ready and admits being shocked that Cassie would do such a thing. Frankie and Caroline feel the same way as Cassie was and still is considered a part of their family.

Tony still can't believe his daughter would do this. Patricia tells him they will find out for sure right now and asks Greta how much she remembers about that night. Greta admits she doesn't recall much. Patricia asks if she would be willing to let Barbara put her under hypnosis to help her remember. Greta agrees without hesitation, saying she wants to get to the bottom of this too. Frankie asks if she is sure. Greta says she is and that she wants to do it now. Barbara comes forward and begins the hypnosis process.

The scene then moves forward to much later. Greta is now under hypnosis and Barbara is waling her through that night as Tony asks Cassie why she hit Greta. Stefano tells her not to say anything and tells Tony this is all his fault. He asks him how it feels to have put his own daughter in a position where she may end up in prison. Tony reminds Stefano he had no idea and thought he did it. Stefano comforts Cassie and tells her it's going to be alright. He will stand by her and get her out of this. Cassie and Stefano embrace as Lexie comforts Tony.

Meanwhile, Barbara announces that Greta is at the point of the hit and run. Greta begins to describe what was going on as she walked across the street to get to Salem Towers. She says there was no cars coming and then one came out of nowhere...that was driven by...a woman! Cassie turns away, preparing herself to accept her fate. Barbara asks if she can tell if it's Cassie or not. Greta is silent for a moment and then says it's...a blonde!! It's not Cassie!!

Cassie turns around in shock. Stefano is shocked as well. Tony admits he is confused. Caroline wonders what this means. Frankie thinks back to that night and recalls Nicole being at the Towers drunk. Frankie also points out she hates Greta and had even more motive as Greta had helped Eric during his illness last year, something that irked Nicole. Abe calls the station and tells them to find Nicole Walker-Brady and to bring her to University hospital...NOW!!


HORTON HOUSE

Doug sits Alice down and asks if she needs anything. Alice says she had quite enough to eat and drink at the ball but would like him to turn the TV on to see if there are updates on Sami. Doug goes to turn the TV on as Alice mentions why it's so hard for him to admit he can't leave Salem because he still loves Julie. Doug tells Alice there are many reasons why he is still in Salem, most of which have to do with Hope and her being MIA quite a few times. Alice tells Doug she doesn't believe him and neither does anyone else, including Julie.

Doug tells Alice he will always care for Julie. Alice thinks he loves her and that he always will. She advises him that the sooner he admits that, the better off he and Julie will both be. Doug tries to change the subject as he turns the channels on the TV. He stops when he sees a news report on a hostage situation. Doug and Alice see Roman, Marlena, and Bo on screen, among others, and are horrified that Sami and so many others are in danger.


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Greta comes out of hypnosis and asks what happened. Frankie fills her in and asks if she is ok. Greta says she is and says she should've known Nicole was behind this. Abe says they are bringing Nicole in now. Just then, an officer comes in with a kicking and screaming Nicole, who wants to know the meaning of this. The officer tells Abe she wasn't far away and was at a nearby bar. Caroline rolls her eyes, saying that figures. Abe tells Nicole about what Greta recalled under hypnosis and asks her to explain what she did the night of the hit and run. Abe tells her they already know she was at the Towers and that she was drunk and they know she hates Greta, meaning she has plenty of motive.

Nicole insists she did not hit Greta. She says that if she did, she would've finished the job. Caroline asks if she could be anymore cold-hearted. Nicole smiles. Abe asks where she was and if she has an alibi. Nicole says she stayed at the bar all night and there was a bartender there. Abe tells Patricia they will have to find the bartender. He then asks Nicole if she went anywhere else. She says she went home but it was late and no one was around. Abe tells Patricia they have nothing right now and have to let Nicole go. A frustrated Patricia realizes Abe is right and tells Nicole she is free to go...for now.

Patricia tells Cassie she is wondering why she confessed. A relieved Cassie says she thought Stefano had done it and was protecting him. Stefano says he thought the same of Cassie because she was out driving angry that night after fighting with him. Abe still doesn't think something is right and tells Stefano and Cassie to stay on call in case they need to ask more questions. Stefano and Cassie agree. Nicole is outraged that everyone believes a mob family over her. Everyone stares at her as Nicole says the hell with all of them. They're all hypocrites and she will prove it and make them all pay. Nicole then walks off in a huff.

Abe's cell then rings. It's Roman, who asks Abe if he has handled what he had to. Abe says he has for the moment. Roman tells him that he better get his ass over to Orpheus' penthouse getaway. They have multiple hostages and have no clue how to get in without causing a catastrophe. Abe says he is on his way. Caroline asks what is going on. Abe fills her in and says he has to go. Patricia says she must as well. Caroline insists on coming too. Abe says he won't argue but whoever goes needs to listen to instructions and stay out of the way. Greta tells Frankie to go with his mother and assures him she will be fine. Stefano tells Cassie he is going too. Cassie asks why. Stefano tells her to nevermind and says there is no time. They must go. Tony looks at Lexie and tells her he has to see this. Lexie and Tony then race off behind Stefano, Cassie, Caroline, Patricia, Frankie, and Abe as Nicole watches and soon follows.


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Kate sees Orpheus pacing and points out that he is clearly worried. Orpheus tells her to shutup. He has to think. Miranda tells him the jig is up. He's cornered. Orpheus instructs one of his men to bring Sami to him and then tells Miranda to put a sock in it. Kate suggests Orpheus fire a bullet into Miranda's skull and says she will even do it for him. Billie tells Kate to be quiet. She's making things worse. Miranda coldly looks at Kate. Orpheus holds his head and orders them all to be silent. Sami is then dragged over to Orpheus and taunts him with the fact that he's surrounded. She then looks at Kate, Billie, and Miranda and wonders what is going on. Miranda tells Sami they are in the same boat as her right now. Sami looks at Billie and notices how upset she looks. She points out that something else is going on. Orpheus grabs her by the hair and tells her to nevermind that. It's time they send a message to daddy...

Meanwhile, outside, Marlena breaks through the police barrier and asks Roman what is going on. Roman tells her she needs to stay back. A desperate Marlena reminds him their daughter is in there. Roman embraces her and says he knows. Roman promises her that he will rescue Sami. They embrace. Steve comes over to Kayla and Stephanie, who are behind the police barrier. He tells her he is going to help Bo, Roman and the police. Kayla says she knows she can't stop him but begs him to be careful. Steve embraces his wife and daughter and looks over at Hope. He recalls their making love earlier and tells Kayla to always remember he loves her. Kayla says she knows. Steve runs off as Hope watches.

Bo then comes over to Hope and asks if she can help keep everyone behind the police barrier. Hope says she will try and begs Bo to be careful. He kisses her and smiles, saying that's his middle name. Hope tells Bo that she loves him. Always had and always will. Bo tells her he knows that and asks if she is ok. Hope nods, saying she is just worried about what is going on. Bo kisses her on the forehead and says it's going to be alright before running off. Hope shakes her head and looks up to the heavens as tears well in her eyes, saying she is so sorry for what she did.

Belle is holding Marlena when she notices Philip behind her. She reminds him she told him not to come. Philip says he had to be there for her. Belle says she doesn't want to argue and turns her attention back to her mother. Meanwhile, Jack asks Bo if there is anything he can do. Bo tells him to keep everyone behind the police barrier. Abby comforts Jack and says she knows he is worried about Billie. Jack says he hates the way he treated her and now he may lose her before he can apologize and makes things right. Abby embraces him as Forrest and Max look on. Lucas comforts Will and says it's all going to be alright. He tells will to go over to Belle and Marlena. He needs to check on things with grandpa Roman.

Caroline, Frankie, Abe, Patricia, Stefano, Tony, Cassie, and Lexie then show up. Abe asks Bo and Roman to fill him in. Patricia demands to know what is being done. Her phone rings and she says it's her superiors. She runs off to take the call. Bo orders Caroline and Frankie to stay behind the barrier. Caroline is horrified by the situation and worries about Sami. Frankie comforts her. Stefano takes out his phone and calls Lincoln and tells him to get down there with some men as Lexie and Cassie look on. Tony turns and notices Anna nearby. He approaches her but she walks off, leaving him alone. Julie, Maggie, and Victor watch the happenings. Victor says he has to get closer to hear what is going on. Maggie begs him not to do anything dangerous. He smiles and kisses her, assuring her he just wants to get an update. Maggie nods and embraces Victor as they both pledge their love for each other.

Roman, Bo, Abe, and Steve stand in awe of the building, wondering what they can do. Lucas, Victor, and Stefano come over, asking for updates. Bo tells them to stand behind the line. Lucas reminds him that the woman he loves is in there and so is his mother and probably his sister. An officer then walks over and says that Orpheus somehow managed to radio in on their frequency. He hands a walkie-talkie to Abe, who takes it and asks if Orpheus is there. Roman then grabs it and asks the bastard to pick up. Orpheus says hello to Roman and asks him to find some binoculars and to look up at the top floor. Roman gets some from an officer and looks up, only to see Orpheus holding a gun to Sami's head near a window.

Roman: Damn you!
Orpheus: Now, now. Is that anyway to talk to a man holding a gun to your daughter's head?
Roman: Let her go. You can have me! Take me!!
Orpheus: Funny you should mention that because I was just about to propose a trade.
Roman: Trade?
Orpheus: You, Kiriakis, and Stefano...for Sami and the other hostages. Non-negotiable. Take it or leave it. Do we have a deal?

Roman, Bo, Victor, Steve, Lucas and Stefano look at each other as Roman looks into the binoculars and sees Orpheus holding the gun to Sami's head as Orpheus says through the radio:

Orpheus: The clock is ticking, Roman.

The scene then fades out on a worried Roman and then fades to black.

NOVEMBER 19, 2007-EPISODE # 376: RACING EYES


SALEM TOWERS

The power is now fully back on and everyone is moving about in the ballroom. Lexie, Tony and Patricia can't believe what they just heard. Cassie once again tells them she hit Greta as a frustrated Stefano covers his face and shakes his head in a disappointed manner. Patricia demands to know why Cassie didn't come forward sooner and all Cassie can say is that she's sorry and that she will accept whatever punishment she receives.

Meanwhile, Roman asks Anna if she is sure about what she just told him. Anna nods and tells Roman that Kate told Billie that she saw Sami with Orpheus. Marlena and the others are overjoyed. A tearful Marlena tells Roman they need to go get there daughter...NOW!! Roman says they are on the case and tells Abe they need to go. Marlena insists on coming too. Caroline, Belle, Lucas, Will, Victor, Maggie, and Frankie also wish to go, among others. Roman says he isn't going to argue with any of them since they will just come anyway. All he will say is that they stay out of the way and listen to orders.

Roman then leads them all out. Philip tells Belle he will go with her to lend some support. Belle tells him she doesn't need him and races off. Abe tells Celeste to go downstairs and tell an officer to take her home with the power now on. Theo needs her. Celeste tells Abe she has a horrible feeling about tonight. Abe tells her to just go home. Celeste reluctantly agrees. Julie tells Maggie she is going with her and Victor. Maggie doesn't think Victor going is the best idea but he insists he must, especially with Orpheus involved. Julie insists on going to but wonders what to do with Alice. Doug offers to take her home. Julie thanks him and lovingly glances at him.

On another floor of the building, Steve and Hope wake up in each other's arms. Hope quickly gets up and realizes the severity of what her and Steve just did. She begins to get dressed as Steve looks around, seemingly in shock, saying he doesn't know what happened. Hope reminds him she warned him they would lose control if they kept revisiting the past and now look what happened. They had sex and have destroyed their lives and the lives of everyone they love. Steve begins to get dressed and tells Hope to calm down. She tells him to shutup. They will talk about what happened later. She just wants to find Bo and get out of there, no matter how disheveled she looks. Steve tells Hope he is sorry but she once again tells him to shutup. She races out of the room as Steve follows, still finishing getting dressed as a mysterious person watches from around the corner. The camera the pans up to reveal the person is...

...NICOLE!!! Nicole flashes a devilish grin and then walks off. The scene then returns to...

the ballroom, as Jack tells Abby to go home but she refuses, saying she cares about Billie too. Jack realizes he is fighting a losing battle and agrees, especially after Forrest offers to come to for Abby's protection. Stephanie decides to go with the group since Abby is going and asks Doug to tell her mom. He agrees. Roman tells Doug as he passes by to tell Bo what is going on when he sees him. Doug says he will but then Hope and Steve come running in. Everyone stares. Doug asks what happened to them. Hope explains they got stuck in an elevator during the blackout and, when the power returned, the elevator was malfunctioning and went all the way to the top floor. They ended up on the roof and got soaked.

Just then, Bo and Kayla walk in the ballroom. Bo is just about to say they couldn't find Hope and Steve when he sees them both right in front of them. Bo and Kayla embrace their spouses, saying they searched several floors for them. Hope repeats the explanation she gave everyone else. Bo and Kayla say they are just happy they are both alright. Abe then interrupts and tells them what is going on. Bo says he's on it. Hope, Kayla, and Steve say they are going to and follow as Bo races off

As the group races into the lobby, Joelle looks on, watching Lucas and Will and showing a devilish grin. Meanwhile, the mystery person watching Lucas and Will takes off from around the corner to avoid being seen. Alyson and Alex are still at the bar and admit it feels like a stampede just left the building. Alex asks if she would like to keep the night going since it's still young and recommends a night on the town. Alyson smiles and says she would like that. The scene then shifts to...

Patricia, who sees Abe running by and stops him, telling him Cassie just confessed to Greta's hit and run and she needs him. Frankie overhears Greta's name to and stops, along with Caroline. Tony fills them all in as Stefano fumes. Frankie and Caroline can't believe Cassie would do that, especially since they still consider her a part of their family. Cassie just shakes her head and cries. Roman then returns and asks what is going on. Abe tells him he has business and tells Roman to go ahead. Frankie says that he and Caroline will meet Roman there. Roman races out.

Caroline wonders if they should tell Victor. Frankie doesn't think now is the right time, at least until they get answers. Frankie announces that Greta told him she was ready to finally make a statement about the hit and run earlier. The only issue is she doesn't remember much. Patricia thinks they should take Cassie over to the hospital right now to get to the bottom of this. She tells Frankie to go get Dr. Barbara Harris and to tell her to meet them at the hospital. They may need to use expertise. Frankie races off. Patricia then orders everyone else to come with her, saying they will get to the truth...tonight!


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Miranda looks on with glee as Billie, Kate, and Orpheus are still stunned by the revelation that just took place. Orpheus can't believe he has a daughter. Kate can't believe the thought of this never occurred to her. A devastated and shocked Billie, who is still feeling the effects of fainting, asks:

Billie: How could you do this to me?
Kate: I didn't know, Billie. God, when I think about what would've happened if Curtis...
Billie: Typical. Thinking about yourself. Even if you did know, would you have told me?
Kate: Billie...
Billie: You may not have known but you still slept with him. You whore!

Billie then hauls back and slaps Kate, sending her to the floor as Miranda laughs in the background. Billie tells Miranda to shut up, saying she is no better than her mother with the way she is behaving. Orpheus has had enough and admits one bombshell was bad enough but now this one...this is just too much. Kate recovers and gets up, telling Billie she doesn't like this anymore then she does. Billie just shakes her head and says:

Billie: I'm one of them. I'm a Dimera.

Kate tries to reach out and comfort her but Billie backs away and covers her face with her hands as she breaks down in tears while Miranda looks on, smiling. Kate notices this and stares daggers at her while a stunned Orpheus walks over to the window, still trying to come to grips with the latest revelation to shake up his life. As he looks out the window, he hears sirens and then sees a mass of police cars and SWAT vans pulling up. His eyes open wide with shock and worry as he realizes he may have been found out while, upstairs, Sami stares out the window in her room and sees the very same sight and becomes overjoyed.

Sami: Oh My God!! They found me! Finally! I'm going home!

The scene then freezes on Sami's joyous face and fades to black.

SALEM TOWERS

In the ballroom, the emergency lights have now popped on. Victor tells Maggie that his people are working on the power but that the generators should be working any moment now. Maggie smiles and says she loves watching him in action like this. Victor says he is happy he can please her. They kiss. Meanwhile, a mysterious person is near the elevators lurking and walking around suspiciously. The person looks at the elevators and then turns around to see if anyone is watching. The person then enters the staircase.

Bo and Kayla are talking with Caroline, Alice, Max, Stephanie, and Frankie about Hope and Steve. Caroline wonders if they should be worried since no one seems to have seen them since the power outage. Bo doesn't think they have reason to yet. Kayla then takes Bo aside and tells him she thinks this has something to do with the trips they have taken. She wonders if they should talk to Tony. Bo doesn't think so, saying that even if he knew something it's likely he would cover for them since Steve and Hope would've considered that possibility. Kayla tells Bo she has an awful feeling that something is going on as the scene shifts to...

Hope and Steve in the elevator. Hope stops screaming and pounding on the door. Steve tells her there is nothing they can do until the generators or the main power comes on. He thinks they should make the best of it and talks things out. He then pulls out Gina's diary and tells Hope he thinks they should start by reading the last entry. Hope asks why he won't give this up despite knowing it could destroy all their lives.

Steve: I don't want to spend the rest of my life wondering. I want to know where I was all those years and what I did. You know most of that, Hope. I don't. Why don't you think about the other side of this and what I have to do deal with?
Hope: Then read the final entry yourself. You don't need me. I don't want to be a part of it anymore. I know what I need to know. Your Chelsea's father. We slept together.
Steve: You need to be a part of this because this is your past too, Hope. I know you would regret it someday if you didn't know what that last entry said. If you had a missing piece from your life floating out there, you would want to know about. You know that as well as I do.
Hope: I just want to get out of here and leave the past where it is. We've come too close to losing control. I'm not going to give in to the past...to these feeling now. Too many people will get hurt.
Steve: Well, you can't run anywhere so I guess I will go ahead and read this (opens diary and turns to last entry).
Hope: I just won't listen then (covers her ears).

Steve begins to read Gina's final entry.

Steve: The escape plan was a disaster. Patch and I made it out of our room and found this secret passage. We took it but were captured. The guards pulled us apart and said that we would never see each other again. I told him I loved him but couldn't even say goodbye to the man who had made my life worth living while in this prison. I may never seem him again.

Hope begins to lower her hands away from her ears as Steve continues to read.

Steve: The man I thought was my soulmate. The man who I loved with my whole heart. I need to tell him how much he means to me so I am writing this not as a normal entry but as a goodbye letter to the man I love. Patch, I hope that you know how special you made me feel. Every day I spent with you was a treasure.

Tears stream down Hope's face as Steve seems to be fighting tears to as he reads.

Steve: Every day with you was a wonderful adventure. You like an angel sent to me by God to save me from a life of loneliness and sadness. You made me feel alive and made me forget that I was in this depressing place. I don't know if I ever loved anyone before like I loved you and I don't care because I can honestly tell you right now that I don't think I will ever love anyone like I love you. You lit up my life with your charm and that gorgeous smile. You made me laugh. You were my confidante. My knight in shining armor. You were everything to me and my hope is that you find this wherever I leave it so you will know how much you meant to me. I love you, Patch. Don't ever forget that just as I will never forget you and our time together. Love, Gina.

Steve closes the diary and wipes tears from his eyes. Hope does the same. Steve asks if she is ok. Hope then has a flashback to the day the guards took "Patch" away from her, "Gina." All Hope can hear is her bloodcurdling screams as Gina and her yelling to Patch/Steve that she loves him and him yelling the same back to her. Steve asks her again if she is ok. Hope then runs into his arms. Hope and Steve tenderly embrace each other as the lights come back on and the elevator begins to move. Hope and Steve break from their embrace. Hope tells Steve she will just hit a button so they can get off Hope hits one of the floor buttons to stop the elevator and panics when it doesn't work.

Steve tells her it's common after a blackout for an elevator to need to be reset, especially if it was in the process of moving prior to the outage. Hope asks if he is telling her it's not going to stop. Steve tells her to hang on to him. Steve takes Hope in his arms as the elevator continues to speed upwards. Hope screams just as the screen goes black and a loud crash can be heard. The scene then shifts to...


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Billie walks over to Miranda and asks how she knows so much about her past. Miranda looks at her and pulls out a file that was written by a current I.S.A. agent who was around back then. She then turns and smiles knowingly at Kate. Kate is confused and troubled at the same time because she doesn’t understand where this is leading.

Miranda then opens the file and starts reading. It is in her own words, as she starts......

Miranda: I still can’t believe what happened. It’s a damn shame. That poor girl does not deserve to have a mother who sleeps with men for money. And now......I have a choice. Either tell my sister, Kate......the truth.......

Or let it die right here.

Everyone is stunned, except Kate. A tear falls from her eye, as her younger sister continues....

Miranda: That is the reason I never talked about that night. I had seen Kate with so many men over the years. Mom would have died if she knew what she was doing. But, this certain man.......I had seen him before. Living with Kate wasn’t easy. She was never there and, when she was, her bedroom door was closed. But, I just ignored what she did and who she was........

Until that night.

Billie then starts putting things together, but asks her aunt to.....

Billie: Please. Keep reading.
Miranda: (Looking back down at the file) When I walked to the door, Kate must have forgotten to lock it. It was one of her regulars, and I knew that because I have seen him before. I didn’t realize later who he was, but........

When I opened the door, there she was...........in bed..........with who I now know was Orpheus. When I joined the I.S.A., I had done my research, and found out that he was an agent at the time. All Kate could do was look at me with sadness and, as he looked at her........

I just closed the door.

Billie looks at Kate and asks if this is true. All a sobbing Kate can say is.....

Kate: I’m so sorry.


SALEM TOWERS

Anna is still outside, shielding herself from the storm. She knows she has to get inside to tell Roman and the others what Billie instructed her to tell them. She notices the guard at the front is gone and figures he is dealing with something related to the blackout. She goes over to the main doors and sees him standing inside. She then decides to go around the building to see if there is another entrance. She does just that and comes across a service entrance.

Anna sees caterers and ball workers going in and out and tells one of them that she ran out to her car and doesn't want to walk up the staircase alone since it's still quite dark. She asks if she can go in this entrance with them. The male caterer notices she is dressed for the ball and says there should not be a problem. He lets her in front of him and they walk in the service entrance.

Tony is with Patricia, who wonders how long it's going to be until the lights come back on. Tony assures her it should be soon. He then sees Anna come out of the staircase. Tony points out they seem to have enough light to move around and then asks if Patricia would like to dance. Patricia is shocked he would want to dance now, especially with pre-recorded music playing out of a stereo. Tony tells her they don't have much else to do so why not give it a whirl. It's quite relaxing. Patricia agrees.

As Tony and Patricia move across the dance floor, other couples follow suite. Roman and Marlena, Victor and Maggie, and others hit the dance floor and begin to dance. Doug asks Alice if she would to take a spin. She smiles and says she may need some help. He says he will do all the heavy lifting. Doug helps her to her feet and they dance. Jack asks Abby if he can have this dance. She smiles and agrees. Anna watches Tony and Patricia dance and her face turns to one of jealousy. Tony then looks at her and they both lock eyes. He then smiles, causing her to say she hates him and then to walk off in a rage, seemingly forgetting the important info she was told to pass on by Billie.

Alyson and Alex sit at the bar. She says it's still kind of dark in the room but it's nice. It sets a relaxing mood for her. Alex admits he likes sitting in a room with nothing but candlelight, especially when he is writing. Alyson is shocked to hear he is a writer and asks what he likes to write. Alex says he likes to write anything because he loves to do it. He loves expressing his feelings on paper. Alyson smiles and says she likes to read so maybe she can read something he wrote. Alex tells her he would like that. They both smile at each other.

Philip comes running in and over to Victor. He tells him he did as instructed and made a statement to the press about the power outage and what they are doing about it. Victor thanks him and says he just keeps proving himself more and more everyday. Nico then comes over to Victor and tells him he is needed backstage. Victor excuses himself as Belle walks over and asks Philip what he is doing there.

Philip says he had to handle some PR stuff since his family put on this event. She asks if he really had to come all the way up to do that. Philip admits he wanted to come up and make sure everyone was alright and he had to see if his father needed anything else since cell phone service is in and out with the weather. He then asks if she is ok. Belle says she is fine. She's with her family. Philip stares at her and she asks what is wrong. Philip tells her he had forgotten how beautiful she looked in the candlelight.

Belle points out the room isn't just being lit by candles now. Phillip says he knows but still. Belle reminds him that he has to prove himself to her quite a bit more if he even wants her to give him the time of day. Philip says he knows and he plans to do just that. He promises to show her that he can be the man she fell in love with. Belle tells him she hopes he does and then walks off as Phiip watches her leave and smiles.

Roman holds Marlena in his arms and tells her the generators should be up and running soon. She tells him it's ok. She's with her big, strong man. They kiss as Caroline comes over and tells them that Steve and Hope are still missing and they are all beginning to worry. Roman and Marlena go with Caroline to join the others. Roman asks Bo and Kayla if they tried calling their cells. Bo says service is out with the storm and admits he is really worried, especially with the storm and blackout.

Meanwhile, Hope and Steve pick themselves off the elevator floor. Steve has a big gash on his head. They notice the elevator door is now open. Steve says it must have opened on impact when they hit the top of the shaft. Steve notices Hope is hyperventilating. She says she needs some air and runs out of the elevator. She looks around and goes out a door, which leads to the rook of the building. Steve, holding his head, asks what she is doing as it's raining outside. Hope says she just needs air. She just had the hell scared out of her.

Steve walks over to Hope and tells her it's ok now. Hope says it's ok thanks to him. He took most of the impact when the elevator hit the top. She would've gotten hurt if not for him. She asks how his head is. Steve asks how she thinks it is. She touches the gash and takes a look at it and flashes back to the night where, as Gina, she took tended to Steve/Patch's wounds. Hope closes her eyes. Steve asks if she is ok. Hope doesn't answer. He asks if it's a memory. Hope opens her eyes. Steve says he just had one too.

They then lock eyes as the sight of lightening and the sound of thunder are prevalent. The rain pours down on both of them and the wind is picking up.

Hope: It's not safe out here.
Steve: Yeah. In more ways then one...

They both look into each other's eyes. We then see a montage of their time as "Gina" and "Patch" at Maison Blanche. Their first meeting, playing a board game, her tending to his wounds the night he got beat up for her, dancing a waltz, their first kiss, the time they nearly made love, the night they made love, laughing together, and them both being torn apart by guards and screaming how much they love each other...all those memories keep playing repeatedly in both their minds. Hope and Steve keep leaning in...closer....and closer...and closer...until they end up in a passionate kiss.

Hope breaks from the kiss and looks into Steve's eyes. She then kisses him again, only this time more aggressively. As the rain soaks them and the lightning and thunder continue to make their presence felt, Steve and Hope keep going at it and end up against the wall. She tears off Steve's tuxedo coat and bow tie. He lets her hair out of it's bun and begins to pull off her dress. Hope then breaks away suddenly and says they are making a mistake. She collects herself and pulls her dress strap up and races off. Steve follows her as she races down the staircase and the scene shifts to...


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Orpheus has had enough and tells his men to remove Billie and Miranda. She then says to Billie........

Miranda: The lovebirds must want to be alone. Damn. Where are you two going to do it this time? Right here on the floor?
Kate: Shut up, you BITCH!
Miranda: Rather be a bitch than a whore, sis.
Kate: You didn’t have to tell her. Billie is innocent in this.
Miranda: When Mom found out, it killed her. And you still didn’t stop. You ruined us, Kate. Just returning past debts, my dear.
Kate: Not like this, Miranda.
Miranda: If you weren’t all over him, nobody would have known. Blame yourself, sis. Not me.


SALEM TOWERS

Julie walks over to Doug and tells him she is glad he came tonight. She asks if he can at least listen to her for a few minutes. Doug tells her he knows what she is going to say and it won't change a thing. They're through and he is leaving Salem tomorrow. He will send divorce papers by mail. Julie asks why he hasn't already left. He said weeks ago he was leaving. Doug says circumstances with Hope kept him there and he is worried about Hope right now. He says he needs to go check in with Bo to see if he knows anything about Hope.

Julie tells Doug to stop lying. They both know his heart is telling him not to go and they both know if he really wanted to go, he would've already. Doug says he has to go. Julie tells him if Bo found anything he would come and get him. Doug walks off as Julie watches and smiles, saying that Doug still loves her and she just needs to find a way to have him realize it and admit it to himself.

Will is with Lucas, Alice, and Maggie. Maggie is telling Alice and Lucas about the storm and the power situation. Will still can't shake the feeling he is being watched. He looks over and sees Joelle still sitting at the bar and figures it must be her. He then turns around as the mystery person continues to watch Lucas and Will from nearby and then turns his or her attention to Joelle at the bar. Joelle looks over at Lucas and Will and promises that Lucas' life will be in ruins when she is through with him.

Abe tells Celeste that he thinks they should go home as soon as the power comes back on fully to check on Theo. Celeste agrees and tells Abe she is getting very bad vibrations. She feels danger and death in the air tonight. Lexie walks by and Abe grabs her and tells her she shouldn't be walking around alone. The room could go totally dark again at any moment. Lexie pulls her arm away from Abe and says she doesn't need him looking out for her. She reminds him of their impending divorce.

Celeste tells Lexie about her vibrations and warns her that it's not the time to be taking chances. Lexie says she doesn't need to be told what to do by either of them. They are nothing to her now and that will be especially true when she has full custody of Theo. She then walks off as Celeste admits to Abe she is really worried about Lexie and all their loved ones tonight. She feels that tonight will change lives and that many horrors lie ahead.

Abby goes over to Forrest, who tells her he is trying to get a signal on his phone and nothing. Service must still be out. Abby asks what he is going to do about Lawrence. He tells Abby all they can do is keep an eye out. They all just need to be vigilant. Max comes over and asks if everything is ok. Abby says everything is fine and that Max isn't needed. Max says fine and walks away. Forrest admits he feels sorry for Max. Abby says she doesn't. He brought this on himself. Forrest asks Abby if she doesn't see herself as being a little to harsh. Abby tells Forrest that harsh was what Max did to her. He deserves everything he gets.

Tony and Patricia are now back at the bar. She says she enjoyed their dance but saw him looking at some blonde woman. She asks who he was trying to make jealous. He tells her to nevermind. He then looks over and sees Stefano with Cassie. Patricia tells Tony his daughter seems upset. She thinks he should go to her. Tony thinks she may be right and says he will be right back.

Meanwhile, Cassie tells Stefano this blackout is a sign. She needs to admit what she did before Greta recalls everything and tells the police. She may get a lenient sentence if she turns herself in. Stefano tells her she is doing nothing. He admits he is to blame because he made her feel like she had to prove herself to him. He apologizes for that and says:

Stefano: I am responsible for Greta's hit and run. Ok. Don't worry, my dear. No one will find out a thing.

Tony then comes up right behind Stefano and says he knew it. He motions over to Patricia to come over. She does and Tony tells her he has her man. Stefano just admitted to being responsible for Greta's hit and run. Stefano tells Tony he doesn't know what he is talking about and that he misunderstood. Tony tells Stefano he heard it very clearly and tells Patricia that Stefano is her man.

Cassie begins to tremble and tells Tony to stop. Tony tells Cassie she shouldn't even be near Stefano. He is a bad influence. Cassie says that Stefano didn't do it. Tony tells Cassie not to make excuses for Stefano. Cassie says she's not. She knows he didn't do it. Stefano sees tears streaming down Cassie's face and notices her shaking. He tells Cassie not to it. Tony asks what he is talking about. Cassie then shocks both Tony and Patricia and says:

Cassie: Stefano didn't hit Greta. I did.

Tony and Patricia are stunned as Stefano puts his hand over his face in frustration and Cassie breaks down in tears.

Kayla takes Bo aside and tells him she thinks they need to start looking for Steve and Hope. He thinks she is right. Bo tells Caroline that Kayla and him are going off to look for them. Caroline wishes them luck as they race off. The scene then shifts to...

Steve, who is chasing Hope down a staircase. The scene happens in slow motion as we see Hope running down the stairs and Steve following close behind. Hope finally exits the staircase on the 14th floor, which is a floor filled with offices. She wonders what she is going to do as she can't go back to the ballroom like this. Steve then comes in and tells Hope not to run away. Hope then turns around and looks at Steve. Both of them are soaked and disheveled. The memories of their past as "Gina" and "Patch" continue to repeat themselves over and over in their minds.

Steve and Hope are once again are looking deep into each other's eyes. The sound of thunder and the sight of lightning don't seem to affect Steve and Hope. They both then flashback to the guards pulling her away from him. Hope begins to cry and then races into Steve's arms. She looks up at him and says:

Hope: I don't want to run anymore.

She then kisses him passionately. Steve breaks from the kiss and looks at her and then goes back to kissing her. They slam up against the wall as they go at it. Hope unbuttons Steve's shirt as he reaches for a doorknob and opens it. They make their way into an office, still kissing. Steve closes the door behind them but is unaware that it is not completely closed. Hope pulls his shirt off and begins to unbutton his pants as he slides her dress off. They fall on to a couch in the office and begin to make love.

Outside the office, a mystery person roams the halls and ends up outside the office door. The person opens the office door a bit more and watches as Steve and Hope passionately make love and the scene shifts to...

Anna, who is in the ladies room, wondering how Tony could dance with that woman just to piss her off. Anna then realizes she forgot all about telling Roman and the others what she was supposed to tell them and races out to the ballroom. Roman is with Marlena, Stephanie, Caroline, Frankie, Max, Jack, Abe, Celeste, and Maggie and tells them he thinks they should all split up to look for Steve and Hope. Victor comes over and says the generators are having some trouble but the power should be fully back on soon.

An out of breath Anna then races over and tells Roman she is so sorry she almost forgot to tell him with everything going on. Roman tells him to calm down and asks when she got there, saying he didn't notice her before. Anna says that doesn't matter. She needs to tell him something important. She says that Billie and Kate are in danger. Jack asks what she means.

Anna tells him that Kate was taken by Orpheus and Billie got a call from her and followed. She gives Roman the location directions Kate gave to Billie on the phone. Anna adds that Kate was worried Orpheus would hurt her because she found out something. Roman asks what that is.

Anna: It's Sami....he has her, Roman. Kate saw her. Sami's alive, Roman.

Roman, Marlena, and everyone else look on stunned as the scene shifts to...


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Sami sits in her room, hoping that Kate seeing her may be the breakthrough she needed and that her putting up a fight gave Kate enough time to run off and escape. She prays to God that this is the night she finally returns to her family. Meanwhile...

Billie wipes her eyes and asks if Orpheus was just a one time thing. When Kate looks down in shame, Miranda pipes in. She says she found Kate after she left her home some years later and wanted to start fresh. By that time, Kate had left the business, so she really felt they could be sisters.

Miranda says Kate was the sister she remembered.........full of life and energy, and very loving and kind towards her. That was......until she met and married that !@#$%^&*] Curtis Reed. She still didn’t know then what Kate was thinking........until she got pregnant with Austin.

She then says that she later found out Curtis would leave for days at a time, because he didn’t want to be around a “Crying brat”, as he called Austin. Kate loved that little boy so much........and he was the only wonderful thing in her life. But, she was lonely, and that was when........

She met up with Orpheus again.

Billie asks if this is true and Kate just nods her head. A still crying Kate asks Miranda to stop now but she feels Billie must know the truth. Miranda continues, saying that he was an agent then and couldn’t have the distraction of a lady at that time. So........

He ended the affair and, from what she gathered, hadn’t seen Kate at all........until recently. Billie asks if Curtis knew and Kate says that if he had,........he would have killed her. She asks if Austin or Lucas know. Kate says Austin was a little boy and didn’t say anything to either one because nothing ever came of it. Kate slowly walks over to Billie, wanting to comfort her desperately.

When asked what Curtis did at this time, Kate says he was gone all the time. Either on ships doing merchant marine work or who knows what else. At one point,.......he was gone for a year and it was the happiest year of her life. She finally had some peace. Billie looks away for a moment and then back at Kate and Miranda. A thunderstorm starts up as Orpheus tells one of his men to close the glass doors. He then says he’s tired of the Memory Lane talk........

And tells them that it is over. As he walks over and takes Billie’s arm, she jerks away. Billie then steps forward and asks a question........

Billie: I have to know. Were you and Curtis still sleeping together?
Kate: Why would you ask that?
Billie: Why? Because during the year he was gone.........I was born. Around Austin’s second birthday.

Kate and Orpheus look stunned but Miranda doesn’t. That is when she steps forward...........opens the file back up........and hands a paper to Kate. Kate looks at it and, a few moments later.....

Realizes that it is a blood type report. Billie’s blood type. It also has the date on it. When Orpheus demands to know what’s going on, Kate looks at Billie, who is crying uncontrollably now, as Billie asks a very shocking question........

Billie: Is it true, Kate? Is this bastard.........MY FATHER?!

All Kate can do is look at a smiling Miranda and then back at Billie, as she can only say.......

Kate: I didn’t know. I SWEAR.........I DIDN’T KNOW!!!

Orpheus looks at Billie, but before she can say a word.........Billie faints into her father’s arms, as Kate turns and stares cold hatred at her sister. Kate then looks back at an unconscious Billie as Orpheus tries to wake her up...........

And as the thunderstorm rages outside, the scene then slowly fades to black.

MONDAY...ON SALEM LIVES...

THIS WEEK'S WRITER IN THE HOT SHEET: PATRICK L. EWING (ROMAN)

1. Will Forrest move from Abby and into story with the vets?

A: Yes, he will. This story is being played out but trust me, he will. There is way too much story for him to be stuck in a story with people half his age. LOL Stay with it and things will work out.

2. Will the romance and fun come back to the blog? It's all doom and gloom again.

A: Oh, of course. Also, the cursing will calm down quite a bit. It is fine to make a point but when you start having EVERYONE cursing, it becomes useless and over the top. I realized that and have stopped it. Not to say it will disappear but you won't ever see Alice saying "MF" and "Where the F*** is my heating pad?!" LOL

3. Will there start to be more interaction with the caST? It seems at times that characters are fragmented.

A: Yes, this will happen as will. Sometimes you need to have just certain characters in certain stories but I truly feel what folks are saying. This will improve. Like I said.......there won't be any of that JER bullshit in this blog.

4. Will Days' 42 Anniversary be alluded to?

A: At some point, yes. But it should mean something and it won't just be thrown in just for the sake of doing it. When the opportunity presents itself, it will be done, and in a wonderful way. But, we are telling story right now, and with all do respect, we need to find the right moment before that material is entered in.

5. There are HUGE rumors of major events about to happen. What can you tell us?

A: Read tonight's special episode. The stuff hits and DESTROYS the fan starting then.

Catching Up With: Nick Castle

The man who recently returned to his signature role of The Shape, Michael Myers, answers three questions for SL: Will he return to wreak havoc on Salem, How much fun was it.......and what did he think of this wild idea?!

SLI: Thanks, Nick, for taking the time out.

NC: My pleasure.

SLI: First question: What did you think of the idea of playing The Shape once again after 30 years?

NC: It was truly something else. Patrick saw me at a Halloween convention in St. Louis and asked if we could sit down and talk about some things. I said sure. When he said what was in mind, I was blown away. This had never been done before in soaps, so I jumped at the chance. I then started getting back into shape, or as good a shape as I could. LOL And when it was time, we went for it. It was truly fun.

SLI: What did you think of the cast?

NC: Wonderful people. No egos at all. They had a great time, it seemed, doing the work. Alot of it was lighting and having a gothic, atmospheric setting,
which I think worked, so it was a blast.

SLI: Which brings us to our last question: Will "The
Shape" return to Salem?

(Nick puts on the MM mask, stands up, turns, and walks out the door, to uproarious laughter.)

SLI: Thanks, Nick. I guess we have our answer. LOL

NOVEMBER 16, 2007-EPISODE # 374: HAVING A BALL PART 2


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

As a storm begins to move in outside, Kate and Sami look at each other in shock. Orpheus orders his men to take Sami back to her room. Sami tries to fight them off and screams for Kate to help her. Kate is speechless. Orpheus' men try to subdue Sami but are struggling. Orpheus gets involved to try to help as Kate feels her cell phone vibrate. She looks at the caller ID and sees that it's Billie and answers it.

Billie, who is still with Anna at the pier, tells Kate what Anna told her and asks if she is ok. Billie then asks what all the noise is. Kate whispers for her to nevermind that and tells Billie Orpheus has a very much alive Sami. Billie is stunned and asks if Kate is sure. Kate says she is and that has no time to explain how she ended up with Orpheus. She tells Billie she seems to be in a penthouse. She looks out the window and sees a DoubleTree East Fountain Park Hotel around the block and tells Billie. She gives her a description of the building she is in and says it's right next to her a highway.

Billie says she thinks she knows where that is and that it's only a little bit away. Kate tells her to get help and fast. She is afraid of what Orpheus will do to her now that she has seen Sami. Kate says she has to go as Orpheus is coming back and hangs up. Billie puts her phone away and tells Anna to contact the Salem PD and the Brady's to tell them what is going on. Anna asks what she is going to do. Billie says she is going after her mother and tells Anna to just do as she says. Billie runs off as a worried Anna dials Roman on her cell and gets no answer. She tries calling Marlena and nothing and figures they have their phones off at the ball. Anna realizes she is not that far away from the Salem Towers and decides to race over their on foot to save precious time as it begins to rain heavily.

Meanwhile, Orpheus returns to Kate and says she wasn't supposed to see that. Kate asks if he has had Sami there the whole time. Orpheus tells Kate he isn't answering any questions and tells her to keep her nose out of his affairs. Kate says fine and says she will just leave then. Orpheus tells her she isn't going anywhere as lightning strikes and the scene shifts to...


SALEM TOWERS

As a storm begins to rage outside, Maggie and Victor on are onstage delivering a speech as the audience is applauding.

Victor: We thank you all so far for your contributions to University Hospital and the new children's wing that will pay tribute to the memory of both Eric and Samantha Brady. Eric was a fine young man with a splendid future ahead of him.
Maggie: And Samantha was a young woman just entering the prime of her life. She had finally made great strides in turning her life around and, sadly, she never got to reap the rewards of her efforts.
Victor: We hope that this new wing will pay homage to the fine individuals these two were and to the Brady family.
Maggie: You should be very proud of the way Eric and Sami turned out. The Kiriakis and Horton families hope that this new memorial wing and tonight's charity ball will serve as a proper tribute to them and that will aid in the moving on process. I think Eric and Sami would want us all to live on and enjoy life.
Victor: Now, we would like to have all the Brady's come up and join us to help us cut this ribbon up here and to unveil the plaque that will be seen right outside the wing at the hospital.

Caroline, Roman, Marlena, Hope, Bo, Steve, Kayla, Belle, Lucas, Will, Max. Frankie, and Stephanie all come up on stage and help in the unofficial ribbon cutting and in the unveiling of the plaque as cameras flash around the ballroom.

Marlena (wiping tears from her eyes): We want to thank Victor, Maggie and both the Kiriakis and Horton families for this lovely tribute to our children. We also thank all of you for coming and for your generous contributions.
Roman: I know Eric and Sami are feeling pretty loved right now. They are greatly missed by all of us and this helps us to keep their memory alive in a wonderful way. My family and I do appreciate this. Thank you.

Roman and Marlena embrace and comfort each other and then do the same with the rest of the family on stage as a video montage of pictures of Eric and Sami plays on the big screen in the stage background and the scene fades back to...


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Billie pulls up in her car outside the penthouse and sees a suspicious man outside the main entrance as the storm worsens. She notices him talking into something and thinks it may be a wire. She looks around and thinks she has the right place. She gets out of the car with her umbrella and slowly moves toward the building. She sees what appears to be guards dressed in plain clothes at every entrance. Someone then taps her on the shoulder, frightening her. It's Miranda, who asks Billie what she is doing there. Billie fills her in on her mother and Miranda is stunned to hear about Sami. Billie says she was too and adds that she has to get inside. There is no telling what Orpheus will do to her mother.

Miranda assures Billie that Orpheus won't hurt her mother. Billie asks how she knows he won't. Miranda tells her to trust her and says she has an idea. They are both trained ISA agents so suggests teaming up to get inside, adding that she told her partner to remain outside in case she doesn't come out. Billie is all for it and asks if she called for backup. Miranda nods but thinks that they can get more accomplished by going in ahead. They may stand a better chance at being able to get her mother and Sami out unharmed. Billie asks how they are going to get inside. Miranda pulls out a black bag, calling it her bag of tricks, and says she is already ahead of her.

Meanwhile, Kate asks Orpheus what he is going to do with her. He smiles and says he isn't going to kill her if that is what she's worried about. He asks Kate if she has forgotten their history together. Kate says she could never forget and then asks why he won't let her go then. Orpheus tells her she knows too much and that she is going to stay put...with him. The scene then fades back to...


SALEM TOWERS

A frustrated Anna is outside the building, trying to convince security to let her in, especially since they are in the middle of a storm. The officer tells her that only invited guests are allowed in. Anna says she saw Stefano Dimera on his admitted list and asks how he got in. The officer says he was invited. Anna rolls her eyes and says she doubts that and asks how big the check was. The officer tells her to leave or she will be forcefully removed. Anna begs him to let her inside. It's an emergency and she needs to talk to Abe Carver and Roman and Bo Brady. She asks him to at least radio in to them. The officer tells her to stop playing games and just leave. Anna shakes her head in frustration as the scene shifts to...

Inside the ballroom, Caroline walks over to Doug and embraces him, saying she is happy he is there. She asks if he has seen Julie yet. He says he ran into her but didn't say anything, nor does he want to. Caroline tells Doug he has to at least speak with her before leaving or making any other hasty decisions. She asks if they considered counseling. Doug tells Caroline he appreciates what she is trying to do but she isn't helping. He just came to support loved ones and to say goodbye. Caroline tells him that he is lying to himself. If he wanted to leave, he would've by now. Caroline walks off as Alice, who is sitting behind Doug, says that Caroline is right.

Doug tells Alice that he only stayed in Salem because of what Myers did to Hope and because Hope kept taking off. Julie then appears and points out that Hope is back and he is still here. She tells him she thinks he is having doubts and begs him not to lie to himself. All she asks is that they sit and at least try to work things out and that will take more then one meeting. Doug looks at Julie and then turns and looks at Alice. He then turns back to Julie and remains silent, seemingly contemplating what to do as the scene shifts to...

Lucas and Will, who are mingling with some hospital board members. Will suddenly turns around and gets the feeling he is being watched again. He asks to talk to Lucas and they both excuse themselves. Will tells Lucas he has that feeling they are being watched again. Lucas looks at the bar and sees Joelle and tells Will it's probably just her. If not her, they are at a ball so people are going to watch them, especially tonight. Will apologizes if he is overreacting but admits he has had this feeling for days now. Lucas thinks it's just paranoia setting in with everything that has happened and assures him it will get better. Will says he hopes so as Joelle watched from the bar, staring daggers at Lucas and Will and promising that she will destroy Lucas and everything he holds dear. A short distance away behind the stage, the mysterious figure once again watches Lucas, Will and Joelle as the scene shifts to...

Max, who is talking to Stephanie about Abby and asks if she would talk to her. Stephanie reminds Max she has talked to abby before on his behalf and it didn't work. Max thinks things are different now and begs her to try to convince Abby to at least talk to him. Stephanie agrees and goes over to Abby, who is talking to her father about Alex. She tells him he just needs to give him some space, especially since they just learned they were father and son a few weeks ago. Jack looks at Alex at the bar and says he disagrees. Alex is a lost soul right now and needs his father. Jack goes to walk over to him as Stephanie joins Abby and says they need to talk...about Max.

Jack goes over to the bar and, before he can even say a single word, Alex tells him to just leave him alone. Jack thinks they should talk. Alex says there is no need. He has nothing to say to him. Jack asks why he came to the ball then. Alex says he called someone to meet him there. Jack points out that Alex is new in Salem just as Alyson shows up and takes her seat next to Alex at the bar. Jack is shocked. Alex says she had an invitation to, thanks to her connection to the Brady's. and that they decided to meet and just enjoy the evening to help forget about their problems. Jack thinks that is nice. Alex says it would be nicer if he left them alone. Jack says he gets the message and tells him and Alyson to have a good night. After Jack leaves, Alex turns and smiles at Alyson, who smiles back at him.

Meanwhile, Stephanie and Abby are talking about Max and Abby tells her she has nothing to say to him nor does she want to see him. Stephanie warns Abby that good guys like Max don't come around everyday. Abby tells Stephanie to go back to Max and to tell him to stop using her. Abby walks off as Stephanie turns back toward Max and shakes her head while Abby walks to the food serving station and sees Forrest nearby on his cell phone, seemingly upset. She goes over to him just as he is hanging up. She says the look on his face tells her that something is wrong. Forrest nods. Abby says she wants to know. She can handle it. Forrest says he knows and tells her the ISA has lost track of Lawrence and his movements. They have no idea where his brother is. Abby is stunned as the scene shifts to...

Celeste, who tells Abe they have to keep trying to talk to Lexie. Abe doesn't think it will make a difference. Lexie is walking back from the food serving station and overhears their discussion, saying that Abe is right. She isn't going to change her mind. She's fed up and not going to take it anymore. They both hurt her far too deeply. Celeste reminds Lexie that Stefano did too. Lexie says she knows that and she isn't even that close with Stefano anymore. This is about her taking charge of her life and part of that is divorcing Abe and having her son with her. She tells Celeste it will be a new chapter of her life now...with her and Abe not in it. She walks off, leaving behind a heartbroken Abe and Celeste as the scene shifts to....

Stefano and Cassie. Stefano tells Cassie he has noticed she is upset and asks what is wrong. She says she is worried about the hit and run and wonders when Greta is finally going to talk to the police. Stefano assures her she has nothing to worry about as he heard she wasn't going to talk to the police until she was far enough along in her recovery that she would be comfortable doing so. He also tells her that she doesn't seem to remember much about that night, from what he hears.

Meanwhile, Tony and Patricia, who are now back at the bar, talk about Greta's hot and run. She reminds Tony he never did answer her questions earlier. Tony admits he wouldn't put anything past Stefano. Tony then realizes this could be an opportunity to bring Stefano down, whether he is responsible for this or not, and tells Patricia he would like to offer her his assistance in this matter. He points out he knows the Dimera empire and Stefano and that, at the very least, he could help her get evidence to bust Stefano for the crimes they know he committed. Patricia likes the idea and says she could use all the help she can get. She holds out her hand and says Tony has a deal. They both shake on it. Patricia then turns and sees Stefano comforting an upset Cassie and says she thinks they should get going on this right away. Tony agrees as the scene shifts to...

Steve, who walks over to Hope and tells her that everyone is wondering about her, especially after she walked off so abruptly earlier. Hope tells Steve she explained that to Bo and told him she was a bit lightheaded from not eating all day so she went to get something. Steve points out she has been distant and people have noticed. Her trying to avoid him is starting to become noticeable. Hope says she doesn't give a damn and orders him to go back to Kayla and to leave her alone. Hope walks off and Steve gives chase.

Meanwhile, Kayla is fixing herself a plate of food when Bo comes over and asks if she has noticed something wrong with Hope. Kayla says that she seems distant and distracted. Bo agrees. Kayla looks around and asks if he has seen Steve. Bo shakes his head and says he doesn't see Hope either and she told him she was going to get a drink. Kayla says their spouses disappearing like this is getting frustrating and it tells her that there is more going on with them. Bo agrees, saying he thinks they are keeping something from them...

Steve catches up to Hope near the elevators. She asks him why he keeps doing this when he knows this is upsetting her. Steve says that what she is doing isn't right and he won't give up until he shows her that. She is only making things worse and their loved ones are noticing. Both of them do not notice that a mystery person is watching and overhearing their conversation from around the corner. A frustrated Hope puts her hands over her face and says she has to get out of her and orders Steve not to follow her. She then boards an elevator but Steve jumps on. Hope tries to get off but the doors close and Steve then stops the elevator mid-floor. Hope asks him what he is doing. He tells her she can't run away this time and that they are going to lay everything out, right here and right now. Hope says the hell they are and pust the elevator back in motion.

Steve tells Hope she is making this worse. Hope says he is and that if he doesn't stop, he is going to destroy all their lives. Just then, a loud bang is heard and the lights go out, stopping the elevator. Upstairs, in the ballroom, everyone tries to move about in the dark. Victor's voice can then be heard as he tells people that lightning appears to have struck a transformer and that the emergency lights will turn on soon while they wait for the generators to get going. Back in the elevator, Hope can't believe this is happening. Steve says it was the storm and it must have been fate wanting them to finally work this out. Now she has nowhere to hide or to run to. A desperate Hope begins to bang on the door repeatedly for help as the scene shifts to...


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Billie and Miranda are making their way through an air vent. Billie points out this brings back memories and asks how they are going to get out of the vent without making their presence known. Miranda tells her they will probably have to take on some of Orpheus's men but thinks if they do it quietly, they will be able to get some disguises and further access into the building. Billie hopes this all work out. Meanwhile, Kate begs Orpheus to just let go. She reminds him that she hates Sami and she won't tell anyone about her being alive and with him. Orpheus says he doesn't trust her one bit. He knows her all too well. He knows the way she plays the game and he isn't taking no chances. Kate, realizing she is trapped, turns on the charm and puts her arms around Orpheus, asking if he would possibly let her go for old times sake. Orpheus puts his arms around her and laughs, saying he wondered how long it would take until she began using her powers of seduction.

Just then, the power goes out. Orpheus continues to hold Kate tightly in his arms and tells her not to move. He asks one of his men what happened. One of his men says there have been several lightning strikes in the area and the wind has picked up too. It looks like they contributed to the loss of power. Orpheus orders his men to handle the situation now. Kate then comments on how they used to have some fun in the dark. Orpheus tells her to give it up. Kate tells him to stop pretending like he isn't interested. Orpheus says he knows she is trying to kiss his ass to get out of there. Kate says:

Kate: So what if I am? Why not take advantage of the situation?

Kate then kisses Orpheus passionately as the emergency lights come on. Orpheus breaks from the kiss and says that brought back alot of memories. Kate smiles and then, suddenly, her smile turns to a look of shock as she sees Billie and Miranda standing in front of her in the room, holding guns. Orpheus turns and asks how they got in there. Miranda says they used the vents and the power outage gave them the distraction needed to get out of the vent and they ended up here. Billie asks what Kate is doing kissing Orpheus and why he said it brought back alot of memories. Kate is silent. Miranda says:

Miranda: Isn't it obvious, Billie? Your mother seems to be back in the saddle. Some things never change.

Billie looks at a stunned and worried Kate and demands she explain as Orpheus' men jump her and Miranda and disarm them. Kate looks at Billie as Orpheus' men take hold of her and Miranda. Kate asks Orpheus to let her daughter go. Orpheus says no can do. Miranda asks her why she just doesn't use her sexual advances, they seem to be her answer to everything. Kate tells her to shutup and Billie interjects and demands an explanation right now. She asks Miranda why it seems she knows stuff about her mother and then asks Kate if she shares a past with Orpheus.

Billie says she wants answers and she wants not now. Miranda, Orpheus, and Kate all look at each other as a confused and worried Billie looks on and the scene then suddenly fades to black.

NOVEMBER 15, 2007-EPISODE #373: HAVING A BALL!


STEVE AND KAYLA'S LIMO

In a limousine headed to the huge gala opening, Steve tries to convince Kayla to go back home and forget about the ball. Steve tries to lean in and kiss her but Kayla says that will not work. She just lost her niece and nephew and can’t believe that he is trying to tell her that she doesn’t have the right to be there tonight. Steve leans back and says how sorry he is. Kayla tells him to just be quiet so they can enjoy the evening. The scene then fades from their limousine.........


SALEM INN

Tony finds Anna walking through the lobby. He stops her and tries to convince her to go to the ball but she is having none of it. Anna tells him she has had it with anyone named DiMera and he fits at the top of her list. She then says since he can’t take a hint, she’s leaving and going to another hotel. Tony tries and tells her to stop fighting what she feels.........but Anna turns and silently walks away, leaving Tony to reflect on his relationship with her.


PIER

Kate paces back and forth waiting for Orpheus. As she turns her back,........a man throws a blanket over her head and drags her off. Orpheus leads the way off of the pier, as one of his men has Kate’s mouth covered.

A few minutes later, as Anna now walks the pier herself, she looks over to the parking lot to see Kate being put into a car. She then sees Orpheus getting into the backseat of the car.......but does not see Miranda tailing the group. Anna hides behind some boxes as the car drives off into the night...........with Miranda and her partner tailing close behind.


SALEM TOWERS

Victor and Maggie greet guests at the door as the ball is now underway. Stefano walks up with Alexandra and Cassie. As both men shake hands, Victor smiles, giving Stefano props for the move he made on one of his businesses. Stefano thanks him, saying all is fair in love and war. As they walk past Victor and Maggie, Abe walks up and greets the guests. Abe and Stefano nod at one another as Stefano excuses himself and leaves Abe with Celeste, who has just joined them, Lexie and Cassie.

Abe and Celeste try to convince Lexie to talk to them before going through with the divorce and seeking full custody of Theo. Lexie tells them both that isn't going to happen and then tells Abe that it would be better for Theo if he agreed to the divorce. Cassie worries about her own fate due to the hit-and-run, wondering when or if Greta will ever say anything about that night, as Lexie tells Abe to stick it as she walks over to Stefano..........who has a wide grin on his face. Meanwhile.........


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Frankie walks in dressed in his tuxedo and hands Greta some flowers. She smiles as she takes them and then compliments him on his look. Frankie thanks her and then asks how she got a big screen television with DVD and DVR into her hospital room. Greta says talk to her daddy. They both laugh as he looks at her, tells her how beautiful she is, kisses her, and wishes that she were going with him tonight.

Frankie then sits down as she tells him she wishes the very same thing. Greta was wondering why Victor has been so close to her. And Frankie answers that question.........by telling her he is doing for her what he couldn’t do for Isabella. Greta now sees that. She knows Isabella died not too long after finding out she was his daughter and what she hopes is that he knows they are two different people.

Then she says she’s now ready to prove that........by telling the police about her hit-and-run. She feels she has the strength now and is ready, even if she doesn't remember much about it. Frankie tells her how proud he is of her as he sits near her bed and the scene fades back to......


SALEM TOWERS

Maggie walks over to Lucas and Will. She hugs them both and asks how long have they been there and Will says he and Lucas road with the rest of the family. Maggie says that Sami would be proud and both men smile. As Lucas begins to say something,.......a drunken Joelle stumbles into him, saying through slurred speech........

Joelle: My mother’s blood is on your hands..........and the hands of all the people of Salem.

Joelle: Spare me the sorrys, !@#$%^&*]. You’ll pay for what happened to her. I promise you that.

Joelle stumbles away as Will says.......

Will: Wow. You sure can pick ‘em, Dad.

Lucas laughs as he and Will excuse themselves. As they walk, Will stops and turns around. Lucas asks what is wrong. Will says he feels like they are being watched. Lucas laughs and tells Will it's a ball. Of course, they're being watched. They both walk off as the mysterious figure once again watches them from afar.

Maggie walks over to greet Caroline, Marlena and Roman. Victor joins her and, as he gives Caroline a kiss on the cheek, he shakes Roman’s hand and gives Marlena’s hand a kiss, telling her and Caroline how stunning they look tonight. Maggie tries not to roll her eyes as Marlena says how touched she is by what he has done. Roman sees that Marlena is getting emotional and Victor says it’s the least he could do. Roman takes Marlena as she wipes her tears.........

And they both run into Barbara. Roman excuses himself as she pulls Marlena aside and asks her how she’s doing with everything. Marlena admits that it’s tough, very tough actually. But, she’s pulling through. Barbara says she can finally take that next step......

By finally forgiving herself for her sister’s murder all those years ago. As Marlena looks at her with worry, the scene shifts to.........

A dressed up Max, who is talking to Roman. He tells him he can’t stand wearing that tuxedo but will brave it for his niece and nephew. He tells Roman he loved them both, despite all the crap Sami pulled over the years. Roman knows that but, before he can say anything else,.........Abby walks in on Forrest’s arm. Max seethes with anger and Roman sees this........

As the scene shifts to Maggie once again, shaking Forrest’s hand. She greets him and he says he wanted to be there tonight to not only help the people of Salem get through the recent night of horror but to show support for the Brady family. Alice, who is sitting nearby, thanks nForrest for watching over Abby, and apologizes for how he was treated. Forrest smiles and says no apology is needed. Maggie asks if the party is in poor taste and Forrest tells her no. It’s just what the doctor ordered.

At that moment, Jack walks over dressed up and looking well. Forrest and Jack greet each other, with Forrest asking........

Forrest: Here for business or pleasure?
Jack: Both. Business for the Spectator and personal for me. Just make sure you keep my daughter safe, ok?

Jack then steps over to Abby and kisses her on the cheek. She smiles as Jack then excuses himself to make a phone call. As Forrest and Abby walk off, Jack tries to call Alexander but gets the phone hung up on him. Jack puts his phone away after deciding not to call him again but, when he turns.........

He sees Alex at the door, being greeted by Victor and Maggie. Alex sees Jack and stares hatred at him as Jack looks at his son with sadness.

Doug comes into the party alone. He looks around for Hope, who hasn’t made it yet. As he turns,.......he comes face to face with Julie. As Julie tells Doug she hoped he would come, Doug excuses himself and walks off, leaving Julie standing there looking at him.......heartbroken.

At the bar, Patricia walks over and gets a drink. Tony is standing there and sees that she is upset. He asks her what the great and powerful Salem DA could possibly be upset about. She says she feels like she has really done a poor job as DA with this mob war and the recent Myers attacks. And, she says, given that Greta is Victor’s daughter and a princess, her hit-and-run is another blot on her record. She says she thought his father did it but Tony says he was fond of Greta. He then pauses before saying that his feelings change like the wind blows, which makes Patricia ask him.........

Does he think Stefano had Greta run down? As Tony thinks about her question, Bo and Hope walk into the party. Victor and Bo shake hands and he welcomes Hope to the party, complimenting her on how beautiful she looks. Hope thanks Victor and Victor then says he has a surprise for the both of them later. As Hope looks about the huge ballroom........

She sees Steve with Kayla standing by the punch bowl. Alice is helped into the party by Maggie and Nico as Hope excuses herself and her and Bo walk over to say hi to Steve and Kayla. As Stephanie joins them, Bo says hi to everyone. But Hope, sensing the tension, excuses herself and says she has to go to the ladies room. As she leaves, everyone looks suspiciously at each other....

The scene switches back to...


PIER

Billie is walking and finds herself late to the party. She comes up on a running and out of breath Anna, who stops and tells her that she just saw Kate being taken away by Orpheus and one of his men. Billie clutches her purse........which has a gun in it, tightly, as she worries for Kate’s safety.


ORPHEUS' PENTHOUSE

Orpheus orders his men to remove the blindfold and restraints and then orders them away. As Kate says she hates that thing, she says she needs to ask him why he never told her who his real father was. Orpheus tells her he just found out himself. Kate doesn’t believe him and, as she raises her voice, Sami can hear it from upstairs and thinks the voice is familiar. Back downstairs, Kate tells him that with what he, Roman and Shane Donovan did in the I.S.A., that is really rich coming from him.

Orpheus tells her he doesn’t have to explain a thing to her and she is in no position to demand answers. One of the guards takes Sami’s dinner up to her as Orpheus and Kate argue.

When he reaches the bedroom, he opens the door.........and Sami hits him on the back of his head with the end of her bedpost. As the guard tries to get up, Sami runs out the bedroom door and down the hall. Kate hears the noise from upstairs and goes to the steps. Orpheus demands that she not go upstairs...........

But when Sami runs down the steps, both women finally come face to face. The guard runs to the top of the stairs, Orpheus stares at him with disgust.......

And the scene freeze frames on Sami and Kate’s faces as they shockingly stare at one another.........and then the scene slowly fades to black.

NOVEMBER 14, 2007-EPISODE #372: PREPARATION


SALEM POLICE STATION

Steve and Hope arrive at the station. Kayla is there with Bo, asking if he has any leads on their spouses. they turn and see Steve and Hope. Both couples share a tearful reunion that is followed up with questions as to why they took off again. Hope and Steve back up what Tony explained to Bo and Kayla and assure them it's the truth and promise for sure this time not to leave again like they have been. Bo and Kayla say they believe them,but also say they have heard that before. Bo and Kayla tell Steve and Hope about the ball tonight and then Bo remembers Doug and how worried he and the rest of the family has been. Bo says he has to call Doug and let him know what's happening. Kayla says she call Stephanie as well. As they go to call, Kayla asks Bo if she buys what they are saying. Bo says he will...for now. But, he still has a feeling there is more. Kayla agrees, saying she can't shake that feeling either. While alone, Hope ask Steve to convince Kayla that they shouldn't go to the ball. Steve asks why, and Hope just ask him to do what he can. Steve says he'll try but Kayla is a doctor and the ball is in honor of Sami and Eric. It's for her family. Hope tells Steve to just try.

Later on, at the cop shop, Doug walks in, after having been called by Bo to come down. Doug and Hope share a tearful reunion. Hope tells Doug they have alot of catching up to do and says they can do it at the ball. Doug says he isn't sure they have the time for that or the ball. He’s leaving Salem for good tomorrow. After a few moments, Hope asks him to reconsider. Doug says his mind is made up. What Julie did he can’t forgive. Bo then reminds him that the huge party tonight is to honor Sami and Eric and that everyone will be there. He asks Doug to at least say goodbye to everyone before he leaves. Hope says that is the least he can do.

Doug walks over to the office window and looks out as Bo and Hope wonder what he’s thinking about.


MARLENA AND ROMAN'S HOUSE

Marlena calls Roman on his cell from her office and asks him if he is going to the ball tonight. In her bedroom, she sits down on the bed waiting for Roman’s response.......

Marlena: So? What’s it’s going to be?
Roman: I told Victor that I would do some work for him while he went to the party. Stefano made a move on his business holdings and it took everything we had for Victor not to go crazy on him. Sorry, Doc.
Marlena: Sorry. That’s all you can say.
Roman: You expect me to put on a smile and just move on, huh?
Marlena: No, Roman. I expect you to honor your children. It would have made both of them so proud.

After a few moments, Roman tells her........

Roman: Ok. Ok, Doc. For them............I’ll change my plans and be there in ninety minutes. And don’t take so damn long either. You take showers for a year on party nights.
Marlena: Got to be fresh for my baby.
Roman: ANYway........talk to you soon. Bye, Doc.
Marlena: Bye, Cop.

The hang up the phone as Roman run upstairs in the Kiriakis Mansion to get ready. He then remembers something and disappears into another room.

Ninety minutes later, a very beautiful Marlena comes out of the kitchen as the doorbell rings. She smiles as she puts on her earrings and walks to the door. When she opens it,............she sees her very handsome husband in a black tuxedo and a long, black coat smiling at her in a black and silver evening gown and saying........

Roman: Damn! Convince me more often to take you out.
Marlena: Thank you, my love. I will.

Roman tells her he has a surprise for her..........

Marlena: Flowers? You still remember.
Roman: No. Not flowers. Just something that I want to show you........to let you know how I feel about you.

Roman bends down and what he picks up and shows Marlena makes her gasp with happiness and she tries her best not to cry. Roman smiles as he walks past her.........

Carrying the sleeping bag he first used the night he slept on her floor during the Salem Strangler case. He walks over and silently sets up on the floor near the dining room table, making Marlena giggle. He then turns to her and says......

Roman: I may be a very stubborn man with a lot of problems right now.........but, I love you, Doc. Ok?
Marlena: Ok. For tonight..........let’s just be lovers. Ok?
Roman: You bet.

Roman steps over his new bed, walks over to Marlena, puts her coat on.........and gently kisses her. She returns the kiss and, after a few passionate moments, reminds Roman that they need to go. They are the guests of honor. Roman smiles as they both walk to the door and he turns off the light as they leave.


BRADY PUB

Bo and Hope walk in dressed in spectacular evening wear and Caroline walks down dressed as well. Roman and Marlena then walk in followed by Lucas and Will. Belle then comes in and most of the Brady family are all together and ready to go. Caroline announces that it’s time to show what this family is made of as they all leave and walk to their respective limousines together.


SALEM TOWERS

Maggie oversees everything as Victor walks in. Maggie tells him to stop looking so angry. Victor says that he will kill Stefano for what he did. Maggie says that he can plot Stefano’s destruction later. For right now,........he needs to be a gracious host. She then kisses him gently on the end of his nose as she rushes off, leaving Victor to seethe with rage.


ORPHEUS'S RESTAURANT

On the boardwalk nearby, Miranda and her partner stake out Orpheus’s restaurant. She is shocked when Kate walks in and, inside the restaurant, Kate demands to know where she can find Orpheus. When no one tells her, Kate says she’s not leaving until she sees him. One of his employees then calls Orpheus and arranges a meeting with Kate. She is then given a location to go to after the worker gets off the phone and tells her to meet him there. Kate rushes off and, as Miranda sees her leave, she decides to tail her.

As her and her partner jump into their car and take off, the scene then fades to Orpheus’s apartment.


ORPHEUS'S PENTHOUSE APARTMENT

Orpheus sees Sami, under guard, walking through his apartment and she remarks how nice it is,.......even though her place has that homey feeling. Orpheus tells Sami to shut up. He then says that there is a huge party that evening........and it seems like the right time to tell her family hello. Sami tells him not to touch any of them and Orpheus says that it is not her choice. He then orders his men to take her upstairs and guard her while he goes out.

After they leave, Orpheus calls his man in Italy and asks him what is happening. The man says that so far, they can’t find anything to prove that what the DiMera woman wrote is a lie. Orpheus then demands that he find something to disprove it...........or he’ll be looking at the inside of a casket, until the day he really dies. He then slams the phone down and thinks to himself.........

Orpheus: It just can’t be. No way am I that bastard’s son. No way.

The scene then freeze frames on his face as it slowly fades to black.

NOVEMBER 13, 2007-EPISODE #371: A MILLION MILES AWAY PART 2


SALEM TOWERS

Maggie is overseeing the preparation for the charity ball to celebrate the opening of the Eric and Samantha Brady Memorial Wing at University Hospital and help fund that and other hospital projects. Maggie orders a few of the caterers and decorators around as her phone rings. She answers it to hear Alice on the other side of the line. Alice tells Maggie they have a problem with Julie. Alice says she has been trying to convince her to come to the ball tonight, saying it's for a good cause, but she refuses. Alice thinks that Maggie could help convince her to go somehow. Maggie tells Alice she will be right there. Maggie barks out a few more orders before telling one of the caterers she is heading out but will be back soon. Maggie races off as the scene shifts to...


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Frankie is with Greta when she wakes up. She asks if he stayed all night. He nods and says she was asleep when he got there. He tells her it's a shame since he brought her some ice cream. Greta laughs and says she is sorry but asks why he brought ice cream. Frankie says that Jack told him she always liked Rocky Road so, upon returning to Salem from Vegas, he went and got some to bring to her. He adds that the nurse said it would be ok. Greta apologizes but tells Frankie he can go get it now. Frankie asks about breakfast but Greta tells him to forget that and to try to sneak the ice cream in. Frankie isn't sure but Greta gives him a puppy-dog face, convincing Frankie to go get the ice cream. The scene then shifts to...


BRADY PUB

Belle is with Claire when Caroline comes over and asks if she would like anything else to eat or drink. Belle tells her grandmother thank you and says they are both pretty full. Caroline tells Belle she has to go run some errands and to let someone know if she needs anything else. Caroline embraces both Belle and Claire and tells Belle she will see her later at the ball. Belle nods and smiles as Caroline leaves.

Just then, Philip comes in. Belle asks what he is doing there. He tells her he is picking up some food to take back to work. He needs something different for a change and adds that her family still serves him after all he has done, surprisingly. Belle tells him she heard he has taken on lots of extra responsibility at Titan and that he has turned his life around. Philip says that he needed to and he only hopes that he is being as successful as others make him out to be. Belle says she is glad he has made strides. Philip mentions he has a long way to go to prove himself, especially in her eyes. Belle puts her head down.

Philip says he wants to be able to have some part in Claire's life. Belle says that won't happen until she knows for sure that he has turned his life around. He is off to a good start but it could still be a fluke. Philip agrees and says he understands and vows to redeem himself in her eyes. Philip tells her he knows it will take alot and he is prepared. He understands the older Claire gets as she doesn't seem him, the more likely she will never call him "daddy" or forge a bond with him. Belle says they have to get going.

Philip tells Belle he is being serious and that what happened on the cruise ship this summer changed him for the better. He promises to show her that what she is seeing and hearing is the truth and that it's only the beginning of the new and improved Philip she wants to see. Belle smiles and says she hopes so. She picks up Claire. Philip asks if he could just give her a kiss. Belle hesitates but, eventually, agrees. Philip kisses Claire and tells them he will see them around. Belle smiles as she collects her and Claire's stuff and leaves. Philip watches as they leave and tells himself he will only have one chance to get his life back and he can't blow it. Philip then says he couldn't handle failing. It would kill him. The scene then shifts to...


UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Frankie and Greta are eating the ice cream he bought. Greta can't believe he got it by the nurses. Frankie thinks he picked up a few sneaky pointers from her, Jack, and Billie. They both laugh. Greta tells Frankie she wants to thank him for all that he has done and for being by her side throughout. She knows he has other things to deal with. Frankie says it's no problem and that he wants to. Greta says she is worried about Jack, Billie, and Alex. Frankie calms her, saying it will work itself out. He thinks Jack and Billie will get through this and will help Alex cope.

Just then. Victor walks in and says he is pleased to see a smile on his daughter's face. He thanks Frankie for being there for his daughter. Frankie says he loves doing it. Frankie and Greta then smile at each other. He tells Victor and Greta he will give them some time alone and promises he will be back a little later. Victor asks if he is going to the ball. Greta asks what ball. Victor fills her in on the charity ball. Frankie says he was going to stay back with Greta but she pushes him to go. Frankie reluctantly agrees but says he will stop by to see her beforehand. Frankie bids them both goodbye, as Victor and Greta do the same to him.

After Frankie has left, Victor sits down next to Greta and says that is a good guy right there. Greta smiles. Victor asks if there is more going on there then meets the eye. Greta isn't sure. Victor says it seems like it as the guy is breaking th rules and sneaking ice cream in for her. He asks her if she wants it to be more then it is. Greta shrugs and, after a few moments, admits she kind of does and has felt like that for months. She is just afraid to put herself out there. She's been hurt too many times. Victor tells her she is a Kiriakis and a very strong young woman. He thinks it's worth the risk, especially if she is able to have something special if the risk should turn out rewarding.

Greta asks if Victor is saying she should talk to Frankie about the feelings she has been having. Victor nods, saying if she wants to get somewhere with him, that is the only way to do it because he is in the same boat. He is just as afraid to put himself out there for fear of rejection or losing their friendship. Victor adds that he would have said something already if he felt confident enough to do so. If she truly wants to give a relationship with Frankie a chance, she has to talk to him. Victor tells her the ball is in her court. Greta thanks him and says she is glad that they had the chance to have their first father/daughter heart to heart. Victor smiles as he embraces Greta, saying he hopes it's the first of many. Greta hopes so too, saying she had him pegged wrong. He has already proven himself to be a loving, devoted father to her. Victor thanks her for saying that, saying it means alot. They embrace again as the scene shifts to...


PIER

Alyson is walking down the pier, wondering how to get to the supermarket. She wishes Jean were there as she had been handling all that since they arrived in Salem. Alyson sees some officers up ahead who are still looking for Micheal Myers and tries to get their attention but they walk on, unable to hear her. Alyson walks forward and comes across Alex. She excuses herself and asks if he would be able to help her. She asks if he has any idea where the Real Deals Supermarket, saying it's supposed to be somewhere in the area. Alex says he is new to Salem and has no idea, apologizing that he can't help. Alyson thanks him anyways and, noting the solemn look on his face and tears welling in his eyes, asks if he is ok.

Alex tells her he doesn't want to talk about it. Alyson admits she used to feel that way but, since coming to Salem, she has changed alot. Circumstances forced her too. She tells Alex it does help to talk and tells him she is a good listener. Alex says he doesn't even know her. Alyson laughs and says she knows almost no one in this town either and most of the people she knows she would rather not know. Alex puts his head down. Alyson tells him her mother is in the hospital in coma because of Micheal Myers, saying she blames the police and Salem officials for not handling the situation better. She adds that her mother might not make it. Alex then comes out and says his didn't, saying Myers killed his mother by snapping her neck. Alyson says she is so sorry. Alex thanks her and admits he blames the authorities too but then notes there are two other people he blames...his father and his girlfriend.

Alyson asks what they have to do with it. Alex tells her they would've never been in Salem if his mother hadn't decided to go after his long-lost father after all these years. He says his father's girlfriend gave his mother hell. He admits his mother brought it on but his girlfriend didn't help matters. He admits to her how he just learned who his father was after all these years and now that is all he has left and he can't even stand to look at him. Alyson admits that her father left her and her mother years ago and she hasn't heard from him since, nor does she care too. Alex tells her he shares that sentiment right now. Alyson is amazed that they both seem to be in similar situations. Myers seems to have affected both their lives and they both hate their fathers right now, despite them being all they have at the moment.

An officer then walks by. Alex tells her that he may be able to help her find the market. Alyson realizes she had forgotten about that and asks the officer, who gives her directions. Alyson says she has to get going as she has to pick up some stuff and get home to her infant son. Alex is shocked she has a son. Alyson nods, saying he is the light of her life. She wishes him luck and then gives him her phone number to reach her at her hotel room. She tells him to call anytime he wants to talk. She tells him her name as he tells her his and says thank you. She says goodbye to him and walks off as he says goodbye back and watches her as she leaves. Alex then looks back out on the waterfront and sighs deeply as the scene shifts to...


HORTON HOUSE

Maggie arrives and sees Alice sitting with Julie in the living room. Alice is trying to persuade Julie to go tonight to the ball but Julie says she isn't in the mood. Maggie comes in and telsl Julie it's for a good cause and reminds Julie she is always the one who says the family needs to stand together. Their family and University Hospital have a long working relationship together and they all need to support and honor the Brady's tonight. Maggie tells her that their family needs to be there and her not being there will cause a void. Julie says they don't need her but Maggie insists she does. She needs her expertise on some things for the ball and adds that it would help her to stop thinking about her problems for one night. Maggie begs her to at least come for awhile. Realizing neither Alice or Maggie is going to give up, Julie agrees to go but just for a little while. Alice smiles as Maggie embraces her and thanks her, saying she won't regret it as the scene shifts to...


SALEM PARK

Doug is sitting on a park bench when Caroline walks by, carrying some bags. Doug asks if she could use a hand, to which Caroline says that would be lovely. Doug tells her she shouldn't be walking around alone with everything that has happened. Caroline says the cops are all over after what happened with Myers so there really hasn't been a safer time to walk around. Doug says that's a good point. Caroline asks if he is going to the ball tonight. Doug tells her he received an invitation this morning but admits he is leaving town in the morning so he has alot to do. Caroline asks what took Doug so long, saying she had heard he was leaving weeks ago. She tells him she loves that he is still here but it seems he isn't sold on the idea of going himself. He tells her that Hope has kept him there with her coming and going and all. Caroline doesn't think so and thinks he should go to the party tonight. She tells him to do it as a favor to her and the family his daughter married into.

Doug tells Caroline that is a mighty big guilt trip. He asks why she wants him there so bad. She says it's for obvious reasons but adds that Julie will be there and he needs to talk to her before he leaves. He needs to make sure he is doing the right thing since it's clear he isn't so sure himself. Doug says he is sure but Caroline tells him to humor her and to prove it. If he is so sure, he will come tonight and talk to Julie and show that he is by how he reacts and deals with that. She says that, at the very least, it gives him a chance to say goodbye to everyone. Doug says he will think about it. Caroline says good and says she has one bit of advice for him and that is to listen to his heart. It will tell him all he needs to do. Doug nods. Caroline then says she has to get a move on to get ready for tonight and then motions to Doug to come on. Doug follows her as they begin to walk faster through the park as the scene shifts to...


STEVE'S CAR

Now on Salem, Steve tells Hope they are almost home and then asks if there is the way it's going to be now between them. She hasn't said a word, even when he asked her if the price was right at the airport parking garage when they picked up his car. Hope says she just wants to go home and get on with her life, with her family. She doesn't want to dig in the past anymore. She knew it was a mistake and should've never let what happened to her with Myers push her into looking into the past again. Steve disagrees. Hope begs him to just leave it alone from now on, saying it's for the best. Steve then pulls over and tells Hope he will make her a deal. If she agrees to read the final two diary entries, he will back off. He tells her they should at least complete what they started and notes they aren't at Maison Blanche anymore. It won't affect them as strongly. Hope isn't so sure. Steve says that is the only way he is backing off. Hope finally agrees, saying Steve doesn't leave her a choice. Steve pulls out Gina's diary. Hope turns to where they left off and begins to read:

Hope: Patch has changed my life so much and now he is my life. Here we are making plans for our future when I never thought of such things before he arrived. I never thought I would have any sort of future outside this room and, today, we began to talk about ways of getting out of here. Patch thinks we can't have a proper relationship here. We can't live our life here any longer so, tomorrow night, we are going to take a leap of faith. We're going to try again to leave this place and to begin a new chapter in our lives. We both agreed our pasts no longer matter. We're not looking back but are looking forward. I love him and he loves me and that is all we need. Hopefully, after tomorrow, we can live out our lives the way we want to. Together. That is the way we both want it. We either both leave her or neither of us do. That is how much I care about him and how much he seems to care about me. Now, more then ever, I feel like what we have isn't just a fling or some sort of phase. I feel like this is forever. I feel like our love will stand the test of time and that it will never die. I hope that tomorrow we can begin life anew...together.

Steve and Hope both look at each other after she has finished reading, seemingly lost in the moment. Hope then notes that they seemed to have moved closer together as she was reading and says that she is done. She isn't reading the last entry. Steve tells her they had a deal. Hope tells him she doesn't care. She orders him to take her home, to her family. She tells him they can collaborate the story Tony gave Bo and Kayla and then can move on with their lives. Steve tells Hope she is wrong. A fed up Hope then lashes out, telling him to just do what she asked or she will get out and walk. Steve then backs off, starts the car, and begins driving again as Hope looks out the window as tears stream down her face and the scene shifts to...


DEVERAUX HOUSE

Billie walks up outside the front door. She hopes that cooler heads can prevail and that Jack and her can talk things out today. She rings the doorbell. Abby answers. Billie and Abby greet each other and she asks how her father is. Abby says he took off early this morning, saying he had things to do before he had to cover the ball for The Spectator tonight. Billie asks if he was upset. Abby tells Billie he is very quiet and she can tell he is a mess but is trying to keep it on the inside. Billie feels bad that Abby has to deal with this right now. Abby says it's fine. She is just worried about her father.

Just then, Jack walks through the front door. Abby slowly walks up with her cane to her father and embraces him, asking if he is ok. Jack smiles and nods. She asks where he went. Jack tells her that he just went to look for Alex but was unable to find him. Abby apologizes. Billie then appears and Jack and her lock eyes. Jack asks why she is there. Billie tells him she thinks they need to talk. Jack tells her he can't do that right now. He has enough to deal with. Billie tells Jack to let her help. She can be there for him, like she always has. Jack tells her he can't even look at her and that he can't do this with her right now. He tells her to just leave him alone. Billie walks up closer to him and asks:

Billie: What about us? How long are we going to do this dance where we don't talk and avoid talking about the issues we have? Weeks? Months this time? We have wasted enough time going through this crap, Jack.
Jack: There is no us, Billie. We're through, ok? There! Now you got an answer to save you some time. Now, you can move on. You get what you want and I get what I want, which won't happen until you leave. So, please do so.
Billie: Jack! I don't want to move on. I just want to talk and...
Jack: Just leave, Billie! Just go!
Abby: Dad!
Jack: Stay out of this, Abigail. Go, Billie. Please.

Abby tells Billie she is sorry and takes her hand. Billie nods and embraces Abby, smiling as she turns and walks out the front door. After Billie leaves, Abby asks what the hell is wrong with him and then walks slowly with her cane into the living room. Jack then walks over to the window and watches Billie leave. Billie fights back tears as she turns around and looks back at Jack. She then turns away from him and begins to cry as she walks off and the scene fades to black.

NOVEMBER 12, 2007-EPISODE #370: A MILLION MILES AWAY


SALEM AIRPORT

Abby gets help from Stephanie and Jack as she walks into the terminal and stops to thank Forrest for everything he’s done. As he smiles, Jack and Max walk up behind him and look at each other. They heard what Abby said and are none too happy. When Abby asks where Frankie went to, Dr. Dobbs says that he went to see Greta. Alex then walks up and Jack tells him that things will work out. His mother’s death won’t be in vain. Alex stares at him silently and then walks over to Abby, asking her if she feels ok being back home.

Abby says she feels uneasy. With everything she heard about Michael Myers.........and that’s when she stops talking as Alex looks at Jack. When Jack tries to walk over and talk to Alex, he says that if his mother would have never wanted to look him up.........she would still be alive. Billie walks up as Alex walks over to Jack, points his finger into his face and tells him.......

Alex: Her blood........is on your hands.

As Alex turns and leaves, Billie tries to put her arms around Jack.........but he pushes her away, saying that she should be happy with what just happened. Billie doesn’t understand where all this anger is coming from but Jack says she knows. With Elizabeth dead........she is home free. Billie is shocked he would think such a thing. Jack reminds her she said that very thing and Billie says he should know that isn’t what she meant. She didn’t want this. Jack goes to help Abby and tells Billie to stay away from him..........permanently.

As Jack leaves with Abby and Stephanie, Forrest walks over and tells Billie that everything will be fine. She wipes the tears from her face with a handkerchief Forrest gives her, thanks him, and walks off. Forrest then turns and calls one of his associates and tells this man to do two things...........

Find his brother Lawrence...........and bring him the file on Roman Brady. After he hangs up, Forrest looks at Dr. Dobbs as he walks toward the exit.


HOTEL OUTSIDE NEW ORLEANS

Steve looks out the window at the terrible storm and tells Hope how sorry he is they are stuck there, saying they can’t fly out till morning. He tells Hope to read the last two entries of the diary. She tells him to leave her alone. He says he hardly said a word as he lays down on the bed. She says she doesn’t want to repeat the mistake they almost made the last time she read that diary.

A few hours later, she sits in a chair watching a sleeping Steve. Hope then drifts off, dreaming about making love to Steve. Steve wakes up to Hope stirring in her sleep, sits on the end of the bed, and wakes Hope up out of her dream. When he asks what she was dreaming about, Hope is silent. She then says they need to go back to Salem and give up looking into the past but Steve disagrees, saying that they will both regret doing so. Hope starts to cry and Steve tries to comfort her but she says that she is tired of hurting the people they love and doesn't want to hurt them even more by doing something they will regret. She just wants this to end.

Steve tells her that, as hard as they are trying, they can’t get rid of the past. When he says that maybe they should read the rest of the diary, Hope gets up, runs to the bathroom, and locks herself in. Steve goes and tells Hope to come out but she tells him to leave her alone. With that, Steve gives up and goes back to bed, yelling at her that he will be there for her when she is ready. As he falls asleep, Hope lays in the bathtub, crying uncontrollably at the guilt she is feeling.


KIRIAKIS MANSION

In the master bedroom, Maggie walks in and over to a recovering Victor. He says she is the best nurse he ever had. Maggie smiles but then gets somewhat serious when she asks if any headway has been made in finding Michael Myers. Victor says his contacts are coming up empty. As Maggie checks his bandage, he also says that Myers’ M.O. seems to be that he attacks on Halloween night. They don’t have anything to fear for now. When Maggie asks about next Halloween, Victor looks up at her and says.......

Victor: God willing..........we’ll be in a cabin in Europe if he decides to return.

Maggie laughs at Victor and, as he closes his eyes, she bends down and gives him a kiss. Victor smiles and barely can sit up as he kisses her back. He then picks up the phone and says that now is the time.........and servants bring in a delicious meal for the both of them. Maggie smiles at Victor as he tells her that the surprises aren’t over with yet.

He then reaches into his end table as the servants leave and hands Maggie an invitation. Maggie asks what it is as she opens it up and Victor sits silently and smiles as Maggie reads her invitation to the celebration of the opening of the Samantha & Eric Brady Memorial Wing at Salem University Hospital. Maggie thanks Victor by hugging and kissing him. He says he’s sorry but everything is happening so fast and he wants to give the people of Salem some type of relief after the year everyone has had.

Maggie agrees and Victor tells her everything is set up. Maggie thanks Victor........by leaning in and kissing him again. She gently pushes him down on the bed and Victor tells her........

Victor: You know I’m injured. You’ll have to do all the work.
Maggie: No problem.

With that, Victor turns off the light..........and the scene fades into.........


STEFANO'S HIGH RISE APARTMENT

Tony walks off the elevator as Stefano hangs up with one of his men. He tells Tony that Victor is in for another surprise when he reads his stock reports in the morning. Tony asks why he can’t leave this alone and Stefano responds......

Stefano: Because the fight was brought to ME, Tony. I can’t look the other way.
Tony: Yes, I know. You couldn’t look the other way when Megan died or when Renee was murdered. By the way........where is that nutcase cousin of mine anyway?
Stefano: Probably keeping an eye on Steve Johnson and Hope Brady.

Tony keeps his cool but now realizes Stefano is either playing games.........or knows the truth about what went down at Maison Blanche.

Tony steps forward and tells Stefano.........

Tony: I’m sick of this garbage. Your whole life you couldn’t let things go. First, with your children,........then with Roman Brady,..........then Marlena..........you can’t do it.
Stefano: What you don’t understand, Tony, is that my life was made for the battle. These Brady's are worthy adversaries. Just as you are........which is why I did some investigating.
Tony: Really? And what did you uncover, Father?
Stefano: I know you have a long time contact from within the family who remains loyal to you. Now........tell me the rest, Tony. What are you, Steven and Hope doing behind my back?!

Tony looks Stefano right in the face and before, he says a word........Lincoln walks into the room. Tony and Stefano leave well enough alone.........for now. As Tony leaves, Stefano turns to Lincoln and tells him........

Stefano: Excellent work, my friend. Your timing is perfect.
Lincoln: No problem, Stefano. That is what you wanted.
Stefano: Oh, yes. Yes, Lincoln, my friend. My son is working behind the scenes with Steven and Hope. He also has an operative in my empire. I want this person found.......and dealt with, you understand?
Lincoln: Permanently?
Stefano: No.......not yet. But send a message, Lincoln. No one crosses me........

Not Tony...........

Not the Bradys.......

Not Victor. No one........you understand?

Lincoln: As always, Stefano.

Lincoln leaves as Stefano goes and stands by his huge picture window and looks out on Salem as he sips his brandy........

And as the scene slowly fades to black.

SLI: What was the reasoning behind mentioning a twin sister for Elizabeth if she ended up dead anyway?

A: Simple. We needed Jack to admit that Billie's accusations that Elizabeth was scheming and plotting to break them up were right. We needed him to acknowledge that so the fans didn't think he was dumb. It proves that Jack always knew that Elizabeth had changed and was using Alex to get to him but he didn't want to admit it to himself. He was hoping she would stop or would see the error of her ways. He gave her the benefit of the doubt, to an extent. That was our reasoning. The implications Elizabeth's death will have on Alex, Billie, and Jack are HUGE!!

SLI: Where are the October episode counts and where is Anna? Why do some characters seem to put pushed to the sidelines via coma, presumed death, etc?

A: The episode counts are late and will be posted this week. The balance will continue to get better. We just don't make people presumed dead and put them in comas to backburner them. It's done with the intention of setting up story for that character or to shift focus to the characters we feel need to be focused on at that particular time. It's backburnering in a sense but it's not our purpose behind it. As for Anna, she has some stuff coming up this week and beyond.

SLI: In what direction are you taking Belle? She hasn't appeared in awhile and she has been doing nothing but supporting story all year. What gives?

A: We have alot of stories and we're lucky we can fit her in as much as she is. She has been supporting but she is in the top 20 in episode counts, which is pretty good. We are starting to build some stuff for her. She has her family's issues to deal with, as she should, but there are hints of something coming up for her, individually as a character, this week.

SLI: With all this talk about Lawrence Alamain, is he on the way back?

A: We want him back and he will be back, at some point. I think the fans can figure that out with the Forrest story going on. I can't tell you when. Fans will have to stick with us to see what happens with that.

SLI: What is going on with next Sunday's primetime episode? What is it about?

A: See below and that should help (laughs).

CASTING UPDATE!!

Fans may have been shocked when they checked out Wednesday's episode and saw that Fay Walker (Valerie Wildman) had returned to Salem. What gives? "Just another one of our typical surprises," says EP/HW Tim Lowery. "We always do pop-up casting like this. We don't always promote every cast decision ahead. There was a need for the character to return to help Nicole so we brought her back. It was only a one day stint but it could turn into more. We only wish we brought her back sooner as Nicole has been through alot this year but Valerie is available now so we will use her when need be."

Wildman played Fay Walker from 1999-2003 and hasn't been seen since early 2003. No word yet on if and when she will make another appearance.

CATCHING UP WITH: MELISSA REEVES (EX-JENNIFER, DAYS AND SL)

SLI sits down with the actress who played Salem's beloved Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux and asks her if she would like to come back to SL, how she felt about her characters death, and what she thinks of SL right now.

SLI: Thanks for sitting down with us. Would you return to SL if asked?

MR: Thanks for having me! Yes, I would return. I heard they regretted killing me off too! I wanted to leave at the time because my family and I were moving but I have been in contact with SL about returning. I want to. I don't know how we could pull it off. The show isn't in the business anymore of faux deaths and over the top stuff. I mean, a boulder fell on Jen and she had long goodbyes to all her loved ones. It was a fitting farewell. Never say never but alot of thinking would be involved in my return (laughs).

SLI: How did you feel about your exit and your character's demise?

MR: It was fitting. The long goodbyes were beautiful. It was all done right and true to history and character. I didn't like how we kept Jen's indecisiveness in regards to Frankie and Jack going until the end where it was all resolved while I was dying but, it actually added even more emotional weight to the scenes so I guess it was fine. I thought it was all handled well and it was great to be a part of such a great story and to be part of the dramatic stamp we put on the island story in 2006.

SLI: What are your feelings on SL right now?

MR: It's wonderful because it's character-driven. It's good drama and everything has a direction and a throughline. The realism is great. The adventure stories are still there and so are the umbrella stories. They are just grounded now, which they needed to be along time ago. They are doing a real good job and that is why I want back so bad (laughs).
