Charlie: I don’t. I was angry at you for so long, but when I saw Felicia’s crying over Mitch, I realized my grudge was petty.

Frankie: That’s commendable, but everybody’s not the same. Kirkland seems very angry at Grant.

Charlie: And I don’t want him using you to fuel his anger.

Frankie: I’m a big girl I can take care of myself. I guess what I would want to know is how deep are your feelings for Kirkland?

Charlie: I like him, but he has to give up this vendetta. I don’t want to be with someone consumed with anger like that.

Charlie: Yeah I believe he does. Don’t get me wrong mom, I like him.

Jake: You can run for mayor, but not to get back at Grant. I mean if it were anyone else I’d say go for it, but Grant? You know how your father can be.

Kirkland: And that’s why I’ve gotta crush him. I’m gonna do what I need to do.

Jake: I think you need to be careful when it comes to Grant, especially on this level.

Kirkland: I can handle my dad. I want him to pay for what he’s done. He’s hurt so many people. He killed my uncle Ryan.

Jake: Kirkland it’s not….it’s not up to you to deal out justice. Let everything play itself out. You need to live your life. Seems like Charlie is really into you.

Kirkland: I don’t think so. She wants me to give up running for mayor.

Jake: She sees that it’s going to hurt you…and so do I. You can’t be like Grant. Vicky and I didn’t raise you that way.

Carl: I feel the same way now as I did after Ryan was killed.

Paulina: He’s going to the Police Academy, and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Jack: Well the Police Academy might be good for him.

Cass: I felt guilty. I was just one of the many who let her down. She felt like she had to be perfect.

Felicia: She lied to you for months. She let me get convicted of Jason Frame’s murder. I spent time in prison because she LIED…to you…to everyone.

Cass: Nicole was mentally ill because of her father.

Felicia: She’s definitely MENTALLY ill.

Cass: Reginald has been tormenting her ever since she was a teenager. He took her baby away from her and had her heavily medicated while she was in Pinehaven.

Cass: Nicole has been through hell most of her life, and I didn’t help her by leaving her on our wedding day.

Cass: She was being pumped up with drugs at Reginald’s order while she was in the hospital. The reaction to the drugs caused the cancer. Nicole didn’t ask to get this. Reginald is responsible.

Felicia: Nicole will never get my pity.

Mitch: Felicia how can you feel that way about someone who has cancer?

Felicia: Nicole has always been a self serving, lying witch, and will probably use her illness to get closer to you.

Cass: That’s not the case Felicia at all. Reginald is the one who caused his own daughter to be sick. I would NEVER do something like this to Charlie. He deserves to burn in hell.

Stacey: He did, but he made me laugh that night. I was lonely and I wanted some comfort.

Cass: And you got pregnant.

Stacey: Given my past troubles with conceiving I didn’t think anything of it.

Cass: How do you know it’s Jake’s?

Stacey: I always questioned the possibility. After Derek and I got back together, I had a DNA test done, and Lindsay found it. It confirmed that Jake is her father.

It’s time to make Bay City the dynamic place I know it can be. I’ll take questions.

Kirkland stands up.

Grant is shocked but plays it off…

Grant: Kirkland! That’s my son everybody.

Kirkland: How can you…possibly think that you are gonna clean up Bay City…when you are the dirtiest person I know.

Grant (smiling nervously): I’m sorry I…don’t understand.

Kirkland looks around.

The Cory/Hutchins family – Rachel and Elizabeth welcome Carl’s return, but not everyone in the family has such open arms. Cory’s disdain for Carl will grow, and he will be at odds with his family. Amanda will play a part in this. Carl’s agenda will also fuel Cory’s disdain for him.

The Love/Hudson family – Reginald is public enemy #1 among his family. They all blame him for Nicole’s condition, and the family continues to support her as her condition weakens. The weaker she gets, the angrier the family gets at Reginald. Bridget continues to support Reginald, which will once again put her at odds with Vicky and Jake.

Mayoral Election – Grant’s opponent will be Kirkland. Grant, Vicky, Jake, and Charlie will all try to talk Kirkland out of it. Kirkland reminds the public of Grant killing Ryan, which prompts Grant to reluctantly dig for dirt on Kirkland, and is shocked by what he finds.

John/Sharlene/Mitch/Felicia – Sharlene will learn the truth about what John did to keep her from remembering Grant’s shooting, and she will begin to turn to Mitch as an unlikely source for support. Jake/Vicky – These two will be going through marriage counseling on their way toward reconciliation…hopefully, and they will be challenged by other obstacles.

Grant hangs up and Paulina walks up to him.

Grant (putting his arms around Paulina’s waist): Yes I think you’d better.

Paulina: What’s the big announcement?

Grant: I might as well give you a preview…since you are special to me.

MEANWHILE…

Rachel and Frankie walk up to the room where Carl is staying.

Frankie: Let me go in…and make sure everything is okay.

Rachel: Frankie it might be dangerous.

Jack: They got the autopsy report from Evan’s murder.

Toni: I coulda told em he died from a gunshot wound.

Jack: They said he died from asphyxiation.

Toni: He must have choked on his own blood.

Jack: A long mark was on his neck.

Frankie flashes back to getting a sample from Carl.

Frankie: That’s why I got a sample of his DNA after we all escaped the fire. I had to know if he was really my father like Evan said.

Cory walks to the double doors of the living room from the foyer and decides to listen to Rachel and Frankie.

Rachel: And you believe him?

Frankie: I believed what I saw, and I believe the DNA test. That was Carl Hutchins I saw lying in that bed, and he’s my biological father.

Rachel: He had a brain tumor that resurfaced, and I watched him die in my arms. He can’t still be alive.

Frankie: There’s only one way to find out.

Allen and Amanda try to talk things out.

Amanda: I’m sorry Allen.

Allen: You can’t apologize for how you feel.

Amanda: I didn’t expect to see him in St. Croix. I had no idea that Evan kidnapped him. I thought he had left. I never expected to see him again. I was hurt and confused.

Allen: I wasn’t trying to take advantage of you. You needed a friend, but I didn’t expect to fall in love with you.

Allen gets a phone call.

Allen: I’ll be right there.

Amanda: What is it?

Allen: My mother’s in the hospital.

Amanda: Is everything okay?

Allen: Guess I’m gonna find out soon.

Donna, Bridget, Vicky, Marley, and Tyrone all approach Cass.

Donna: Cass what’s going on with Nicole?

Cass: I guess we’re about to find out.

Marley: What happened?

Cass: She was leaving and she just collapsed at the door. I brought her here.

Vicky: Oh my God.

Reginald comes up but does not approach everyone. He stays within earshot but out of sight as John comes out to give the news.

Cass: John how is she?

John: I had some tests done. It’s not good at all.

Everyone is concerned and so is Reginald.

BACK AT THE HOSPITAL

Donna: What does that mean?

John: She has a high level of sedatives and drugs in her system, and it’s causing her illness.

Vicky: John just tell us what’s happening to my aunt.

Allen runs up to all of them.

Allen: I’m the next of kin. What’s going on with my mother?

John: She has cancer.

Marley: Did the drugs have something to do with Nicole getting sick?

John: Yes.

Allen: No…no I just got my mother back. I can’t lose her!

John: I’m gonna call the oncologist and set up chemo for her.

Allen: My God…this can’t be happening.

Marley walks over to Allen and Tyrone watches closely.

Marley: I’m so sorry. Is there anything I can do?

Allen: Thanks Marley...I just need to take this in.

Reginald tries to walk away, but it’s too late…Allen notices him.

Reginald turns around and Allen grabs him by his collar, and hems him up against the wall.

Allen: You’re responsible for this! My mother’s sick because of you!

The rest of the Love/Hudsons approach Allen and Reginald, and Tyrone pulls Allen off of him, and then Donna approaches Reginald.

Donna: You kept my sister locked up at Pinehaven, drugged constantly, and now look at her, she’s got cancer. I hope you feel good about yourself Reginald.

Donna walks off and Tyrone watches Donna.

Reginald: I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.

Vicky: Donna told us how you took Allen away from Nicole. You paid Bridget to take me away, and you paid Clayton Montgomery to take Allen away. Nicole hasn’t been right since then.

Tyrone (to Marley): I’m gonna go get some coffee.

Marley: I’d love some.

Tyrone walks away, and now it’s Bridget’s turn.

Bridget: You’re all wrong! Grandpa would never do this to anyone!

Vicky: Bridget maybe we should go.

Bridget: No mom. He would never cause Aunt Nicole to be sick!

Reginald: She’s right. I would never try to hurt my own daughter!

Vicky: Why don’t you tell her the truth! Tell her that you had Nicole locked up and drugged while she was at Pinehaven.

Bridget: Stop it mom! Grandpa Reginald is not like that. Come on mom’s wrong isn’t she?

Marley: I can’t imagine that. Reginald has done some terrible things, and it seems like Nicole is the one who is paying for it.

She had a child that she couldn’t be with. She was locked up in a mental institution and all I could do was write her a few letters.

Kirkland and Charlie walk in. Kirkland notices Grant and Paulina together and quickly orders a table for the two of them. Charlie does not notice what Kirkland has noticed, and the two are seated.

Charlie: I’m gonna go to the ladies’ room.

Kirkland: Um sure.

Kirkland watches Charlie walk to the ladies’ room, and Kirkland makes a beeline for Grant and Paulina’s table.

Kirkland (sarcastically): Good evening dad, Paulina. He’s drawing you further into his web isn’t he?

Kirkland: He’s going to hurt badly Paulina. I don’t know how else to warn you.

Paulina: That’s why he took the job as the security detail. He was really trying to bust someone. Why would Evan kill him though?

Jack: We don’t really know everything behind that. We just know that he’s off the streets, and he won’t be hurting anyone else again.

Paulina: Why did he shoot Grant?

Jack: Sounds like a question you’re gonna have to ask him. I’m so sorry Paulina.

Paulina: About what?

Jack: About you losing your husband.

Paulina: Wow you’re always showing compassion, just like you did back when Remy was born.
