The Hutchins family reunites

CAR

Carl, Rachel, and Frankie are being driven, and Rachel is on her cell phone.

Rachel: Where’s your sister? (beat) I’m back in Bay City. Yes…we are back in Bay City. Make sure you both are home. We’ll be there in fifteen minutes or so.

Rachel hangs up and Carl puts his arm around her.

Carl: I can’t believe it. I’m gonna finally see my children after all this time.

Rachel: And they’re gonna be glad to see you.

Frankie: You’re gonna be with your family.

Rachel: And it’s time for you to be with yours…Cass and Charlie.

HOSPITAL

CASS is with NICOLE…as NICOLE lies in bed.

Nicole: Thank you for being here for me Cass.

Cass: Stop. You don’t have to thank me.

Nicole: I can’t help but to think of all the things I’ve done to you. I let your best friend take the rap for Jason Frame’s murder.

Cass: Nicole, I don’t want to hear anything else about the past alright. You need to focus on beating this thing. This thing that your father caused you to have.

Nicole: It’s not Reginald’s fault that I lied.

Cass: It’s his fault that you were separated from your child. It’s his fault that you were locked up and drugged repeatedly against your will. Reginald is the reason you’re here now. I’m not leaving your side.

John walks in with his chart.

Cass: John.

John: Hey Cass. Nicole I’ve set up your first chemo session for tomorrow. In the meantime I strongly suggest you get some rest. Chemotherapy is a grueling, and painful process, and you’re gonna need all your strength.

Nicole: Well my son is coming to take me home today.

HOTEL ROOM

Allen is in his room in a terrycloth robe, when someone rings the doorbell. He answers the door and gets an unpleasant surprise.

Allen: Grandpa Reginald.

Reginald: Enjoying your robe? Well you’re not taking it with you when you leave.

Allen: What are you talking about?

Reginald: I’ve spoken to the hotel manager, and I am no longer paying for your stay here. You have to be out of here by tonight.

Allen: How can you do that? My mother was coming here.

Reginald: I’ve taken care of things for Nicole.

Allen: Just like you did when you kept her locked up and drugged in Pinehaven! Where the hell am I gonna stay?

Reginald: Well that’s not my problem is it?

Allen: After all the bidding I did for you, you’re gonna turn your back on me! You cold hearted bastard!

Reginald: I’m headed to the hospital to check on my daughter.

Allen: The hell you are! You stay away from Nicole.

Reginald: Or what?

Reginald: Are you threatening your own grandfather? That’s not something you want to do. I can destroy you and you know it.

CORY MANSION

Rachel walks into the living room and sees Cory and Elizabeth.

Rachel: I’m glad you’re both here.

Elizabeth: What’s up mom? Cory said it was important so I rushed home.

Rachel: Brace yourselves. This is the happiest day we’ve had in a while. Come on in.

Carl and Frankie walk in, and Cory and Elizabeth are shell-shocked.

Elizabeth: No…no this isn’t real.

Cory: Mom how do you know he isn’t a fake?

Rachel: Believe me, he’s real. Your father’s alive.

Elizabeth slowly approaches Carl, and Cory right behind her.

Elizabeth: Dad? Is it…is it really you?

Carl: Of course sweet pea

Elizabeth begins to cry.

Elizabeth: Oh my God!

Carl: Son?

Cory: You’re all better?

Carl: The tumor’s gone. Thank your sister Frankie. She brought me back to you all.

Cory and Elizabeth both embrace their father, as Rachel approaches Frankie.

Frankie: I’m gonna let you guys have some time alone.

Rachel: Wait Frankie. Thank you. You’ve reunited my family. Of course, it’s your family, too.

Frankie: I’m so happy that you’re all back together.

Rachel: But I also can see that…bittersweet feeling in your eyes. You want to reunite with Cass and Charlie. You still love Cass.

Frankie: Go…enjoy this time with your husband and your kids.

Rachel: If you need anything just call me.

Frankie: Of course.

Allen arrives at Nicole’s room, where Cass is.

Nicole: Son...

Allen: Mom...how are you feeling?

Nicole: Ready to get out of here and into a comfortable bed.

Allen: I’ve got some bad news.

Nicole: What…what is it?

Allen: Grandfather told me that he’s not paying for my hotel room anymore, and I definitely can’t afford to live there.

Nicole: How could he do that to you?

Reginald walks in.

Reginald: Don’t worry Nicole. I’m taking care of all your medical expenses, and I’ll be providing you a place to live.

Nicole: How could you put my son out of his room? I was going to stay there with him.

Reginald: What happens to Allen is not important…

Nicole: He’s my son! You’ve gotten him in trouble and you’re abandoning him.

Cass: How could you do this to Nicole? Haven’t you done enough to make her life miserable?

Reginald: You stay out of my daughter and my relationship!

Nicole: I don’t want anything you have to offer!

Cass: That’s right. She’s coming to live with me.

Reginald: What?

Cass: You heard right…Nicole is going to stay at my house.

Reginald: Are you trying to speed up her death?

Cass: After what you've done, the one who deserves to die is you.
