A fic set in the town of Llanview, where many people try to live their "one life" as drama consumes them all!
Welcome, everyone, to my new fanfic/blog: One Life At A Time, a fic based on the ABC soap opera "One Life to Live"....people also mainly know me as the Creator/Head Writer/Executive Producer of "Life in Salem", a fic based on the NBC soap "Days of Our Lives"....however, I am not particularly enjoying OLTL right now, and have been wanting to take a stab at writing it for ages...and now that it seems you can have more than one blog on SON, I decided now would be the perfect time!
"This is, in itself, an experiment...I want to see if I can correctly write OLTL, and if I can handle more than one fic at once...this fic shall pick up RIGHT after yesterday's episode, NOT today's episode, and right now, I'm not sure how regularly it will air....it will be a slow process, trying to get it off the ground, but I think I can do it, or at least try....again, this may not be successful, but I am very very willing to try and see how much I can handle." Tara Smith explained
Expect more information about the show to be released soon....and the first episode to premiere VERY soon...maybe even today!

Prologue - Present Day
Eleanor (Catherine Hickland) wakes up to the morning sunlight streaming through the window of Henry’s (Sebastian Roché) bedroom in the Von Stadt penthouse. “Good morning,” Henry greets her, stroking her hair. “I haven’t slept that well in I don’t know how long,” Eleanor purrs, nestling into Henry’s chest. “You wore yourself out, or wore out both of us, rather,” Henry smiled. Eleanor got serious, "I’m sure you didn’t realize, but the anniversary of my husband’s death just passed. Things have been so heavy, with Terrence’s death, I didn’t even acknowledge it. I didn’t even know how to commemorate it. How do you honor a man you never knew for sure?” Henry’s demeanor shifted quickly, and seems hard-hit by the reminder of Charles Halperin’s death. “Eleanor, you mustn’t dwell on what you’ll never know,” Henry urges her, with sincere concern rich in his voice. “I know,” Eleanor agrees “I couldn’t sleep very well in the last year, with everything that’s been happening, but last night I felt in control again... I felt safe.” Eleanor’s confession should make Henry feel wonderful. Under normal circumstances, it would.
“You didn’t get into any trouble asking for time off of work on zero notice?” Christian (David Evan Smith) asked Dominic (William Shew) as they carried their duffel bags to the rental car they just signed up for. “I can handle trouble, no problem, just hope I remember how to drive after so much time being ‘strictly subway’ in New York,” Dom winked. The boys get in the car and sit, and Dom hesitates before asking, “You sure you’re not going to get in trouble for disappearing on your life with zero notice?” Christian doesn’t know how to react to the question, “What life? Terrence is dead. There’s nothing keeping me here.” Dominic worries for his friend and foster brother, “Are you okay?” Christian rapidly responds, “I’m fine. Can we just go?” Dominic wonders where to, since they never decided. Christian told the rental company they were dropping the car off in L.A. Christian’s sure they can both find work there... in case they decide to stay. Dominic starts up the car.
Evan Royale (Ian Buchanan) lets himself in to the Royale & Klein Law Offices, and is startled to find Fiona (Connie Fletcher-Staton) sleeping at her desk. Evan sets his briefcase down and walks quietly over to her. With one finger he attempts to brush her disheveled red hair behind her ear, but the motion startles Fiona, a notorious light sleeper. Evan wonders what Fiona’s doing there. “Sleeping, obviously,” Fiona tells him matter-of-factly. Evan inquires about her apartment. Fiona tells him it has a rodent infestation and is in dire need of fumigation. Evan asks about her father’s home, but Fiona doesn’t find comfort there anymore. Fiona sits on the front edge of her desk and Evan sits there next to her. “You don’t fool me, you know,” Evan shares with her, fully expecting this news to surprise her.
Julia (Melissa Archer) returns home to find Carina (Natalia Livingston) sitting in the living room. Carina welcomes her back, asking about the trip. Julia shares that James followed her there and proved himself to be quite an amazing, supportive person. “Careful, your ice is melting,” Carina joked. Julia laughed, before noticing the bouquet of flowers on the coffee table. “Flowers, for whom?” Julia inquired. “For you,” Carina told her. Julia hurried over to them to read the card, impressed further by James. “From whom, should be the question,” Carina warned her, as Julia opened the card to read “Still Think of You... Love, Nathan” Carina is somewhat amused by Julia’s predicament, “What’s that saying? When it melts, it pours?” Carina smiles to herself, returning to the magazine she was reading. Julia is stricken to realize Nathan is still carrying a torch for her.
Thomas (Bobby Steggert) and Rebecca (Lindze Letherman) were curled up together on the living room couch at the Baldwin brownstone, when Jenna (Kari Wuhrer) barged in, carrying a small suitcase. Jenna seems disgruntled, “Ugh, Elizabeth, would you give me a moment alone with my darling half-brother?” Rebecca looked around for someone named Elizabeth, and realized Jenna was addressing her, “I’m Rebecca,” she corrected Jenna, who really couldn’t be bothered with her, “Oh whatever. Beat it,” Jenna tells her. Thomas refuses to let Rebecca out of his embrace, “Isn’t it you who’s supposed to be leaving?” Thomas asked. Jenna resigns herself to Rebecca staying for this, “I just wanted to congratulate you, Thomas. It shouldn’t surprise me that you want an audience for this. But congrats, you’ve finally succeeded in ejecting me from the bosom of the family. It only took you a year. But I will tell you that I have Baldwin Enterprises, which is only growing, and you better believe I’m never down for long.” With that, Jenna leaves, head held high. Thomas doesn’t appear very happy to see her leave, prompting Rebecca’s question, “What’s going on in there?” Thomas thinks, and reveals, “Just thinking of how different my life was a year ago. Before Jenna, before James, before Eddie and Didi... before you, and my dad’s heart attack. So much has happened.”

“And?” Rebecca wondered, and Thomas went on, “I think it’s still been a good year. Starting with you...” Thomas smiled, holding her tighter as he recalled the day he asked her out.
~October 31st, 2007~
“Tutor you? In the same subject that your father also teaches a course on here?!” Rebecca asked, skeptical, in the hallway of Hunter College. Thomas surrenders, “Okay, I’ve just been trying to come up with a way to get you to spend some time with me.” Rebecca is disappointed that tutoring was the best he could come up with. Thomas defended himself, “I’m not good with ulterior motives!” Just then, two EMTs with a gurney rushed past them and made a sharp turn into a classroom, grabbing their attention. Thomas grew nervous immediately. “What is it?” Rebecca asked, sensing his fear. “That’s my dad’s classroom,” Thomas said, chasing after the gurney.

“Fool you?” Fiona claims not to understand. “You play such the strong woman. Fiercely independent. Career-oriented. Strong, moral beliefs. Determined to change the world with law and logic.” Fiona doesn’t see what’s so wrong with Evan’s assessment about her. Evan explains, “You were just given a whopping dose of life without logic. A senseless death. And you’re a bit of a mess now, because of it. It’s understandable, you just need to embrace it. I knew this day would come the moment I met you.”
~June 2007~
Evan is sitting with a 30something woman who’s very pregnant, and Evan’s consoling her. She’s obviously upset, though her face is skewed from view. Fiona sits in the waiting area, dressed for an interview. Evan reassures the woman, “You’re doing the right thing, dear. You know I would never steer you wrong... You’re just not prepared to become a mother. There are so many prospective parents out there just waiting to bring a child into their home to shower them with love, stability, and attention. I have a lot of connections through my work and I will make sure this child is placed in a very loving home. It’s for the best.” Wrapping up his conversation, Evan sends the very pregnant woman on her way. Fiona watches the woman leave, then grabs her briefcase and moves to leave as well. “Miss? We’re ready for you now.” Evan told Fiona. “Well I don’t think I am,” Fiona glares at Evan, obviously disgusted with him. Fiona turns to leave again, but Evan halts her, “Miss? I usually like to take a woman out to dinner before she decides that I’m a filthy swine. Care to give me at least that chance?”

~Present Day~
Christian is staring out the car window as Dominic sings along to the radio, which is running show tunes from Dom’s iPod. Christian begins getting lost in thought, and remembers a frustrating rehearsal day from the show where Christian first worked with Terrence (Walt Willey).
~August 2007~
“That’s it! We obviously need to break for lunch because you all must be so hungry that you can’t connect with your characters. Go! Eat! Come back as real actors!” Terrence shooed them away, and they left, except for Christian. Terrence seemed to take comfort from the fact Christian stayed behind. “I’m sorry if it’s me,” Christian offered, “I’m probably a little distracted today.” Terrence was surprised, “If you are distracted, it didn’t show. I’d probably be just as frustrated regardless of who I was trying to direct. I’m having a rough day,” Terrence admits, sitting down. Christian joins him on the edge of the stage. “My wife had me served with divorce papers today,” Terrence tells him, though Christian didn’t even know that Terrence was married. “I am... I was,” Terrence shared, “I can’t say I’m surprised, I’ve put her through hell. I just hoped that she might take things better. I guess I mean to say, I came out of the closet to her. And being that she’s worked in theatre for most of her life, I convinced myself that she might be able to accept that her husband was gay. How the hell stupid am I?!” Terrence was practically beating himself up.

~Present Day~
Julia leans against her window, staring out, tapping the card from Nathan on her chin. Suddenly, Julia remembers a day when Nathan brought her out that window onto the fire escape.
~Valentine’s Day, February 2007~
“Come on, I want you to see this,” Nathan (Jason Thompson) told Julia, pulling her out the window. Nathan’s shirtless, in his boxers, and Julia appears to be wearing his shirt. The light on their faces implies dawn, sunrise. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” Nathan says, romantically. “What?” Julia says, shocked that she didn’t remember what day it was. “It’s our first Valentine’s Day together,” Nathan explains, “And I wanted it to start at the crack of dawn so that I could share every minute with you.” Julia forces a smile and expresses that she’s touched by the sentiment, “But let’s go back to bed... we both worked so late last night, I’m tired, and I’ve never been big on greeting card holidays like this one.” Julia climbs back through the window and goes to bed, leaving Nathan to wonder where he went wrong.

~Present Day~
Henry surprised Hattie (Kate Collins) by coming to the office. Hattie tried to give him his messages, but Henry waved them away. Henry instructed Hattie to act as though he wasn’t there. Henry walked into his office and shut the door. Walking around the desk, Henry obviously has a lot on his mind. Henry starts to hear familiar shouts, things he heard long ago, from Charles Halperin (John Schneider).
~Early October 2007~
“You’re a monster! This is how you make your money?! This is how you built your empire? Off of peoples’ weaknesses, their addictions? Their sickness and despair puts food on your table...” Charles railed at his boss in disgust. “And food on yours too, apparently,” Henry replied, unapologetically.

All following events take place non-chronologically, in their respective times in 2007
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~June 2007~ Evan guides Fiona into a meeting room where Herbert Klein (Kin Shriner) has been preparing Fiona’s interview. Fiona’s caught off-guard by Klein, who is dressed like a stereotypical, oily, ambulance-chasing lawyer. Evan is significantly more sharply dressed, but it only implies Evan is more self-aware, potentially more deceptive than Klein, who wears his ineptitude on his sleeve. Evan introduces Fiona to Herbert, who politely stands to greet her and shake her hand, “So you’d like to intern with us here at Royale & Klein?” Herbert asked politely. “Actually, no. I wouldn’t,” Fiona revealed through a hostile expression that she was incapable of hiding. Klein was slightly scared of her.
~October 31st, 2007~ Thomas is sitting in the waiting room of the hospital while his father is in surgery. Rebecca runs up to him, having taken a subway to the hospital when she found out where Theodore was taken. “What are you doing here?” Thomas was surprised Rebecca showed up. “I was worried. Professor Baldwin has always been so nice,” she explained. Thomas was in a bit of a daze, “He’s been in surgery for like two hours... is it supposed to take this long?” Rebecca tried to ease his concerns, explaining that it can be many hours for surgery when it comes to heart attacks. Thomas is frustrated with the waiting, “I can’t do anything... I just have to sit here.” Rebecca asks if he should call someone, but Thomas says no, “I have two half-siblings, but I barely know them... they never come to visit, I don’t think they even really care about him. And my mother... they’re not together, haven’t been for years. The love is still there, and she’d come back in a heartbeat, but... I don’t want to worry her, I don’t even know anything yet.” Rebecca puts her arm around him and he rests his head on her shoulder.
~August 2007~ “You can’t fault yourself for being optimistic,” Christian tried to reassure Terrence. “I fathered two children with her, we’ve been married for over 30 years. I asked her to invest her heart and soul in me, build a family, forsake all others, the whole nine yards. I didn’t realize how good I had become at lying to her. God bless my children for sticking by me,” Terrence adds, “but Emma... she just up and left, didn’t tell me where she was going, or when she’d return. And now this. I guess I just hate having to accept that I have to let one life die in order to let another life survive. I’m just as selfish as my wife told me I was right before she left.”
~Early October 2007~ Charles Halperin storms into his office with a cardboard box, and begins loading it with items, “Consider this my resignation!” Henry follows behind, unmoved by the dramatics, “Charles, you’ve been a valued member of the team here, there isn’t a need for you to resign. I might be able to put together a retention bonus for you to stay on.” “Throw more of your drug money at me and hope I can buy my soul back later, is that pretty much what you’re getting at, Sir?” Charles wasn’t having it, “You valued me as a member of your team because, unbeknownst to me, I was keeping the books nicely cooked for you, covering your crimes and enabling you to keep reaping the benefits. But you’ve lost that now. And once this reaches the authorities and the media gets a hold of it, I may be collecting unemployment, but I sure won’t be relying on the taxpayers money the way you will be, pounding out license plates.” Henry slams Charles’s office door and urges him not to do anything he will regret, “Charles if you’ve done your research you know that my influence is powerful and far-reaching. You do not want to make an enemy of me.” Charles looks betrayed by Henry’s threat, “Wow. So it’s come to this? From getting Employee of the Month to getting a thinly-veiled death threat? Do what you will to me, Henry, but the pen is mightier than the sword, and my influence can be far-reaching as well.” Charles tries to shove past him, but Henry blocks his exit and shoves him back, “You aren’t leaving until this is settled!” Henry shouts, as Charles spins around and bashes his head against the corner of his desk. Crashing to the floor and taking a framed photo of his family down with him, Charles dies instantly. Henry is horrified by the turn of events, and the commotion catches the attention of Leo (Jeff Branson), who barges into the room to find his father standing over Charles Halperin’s body.
~May 2007~ Julia is filling out a chart at the Nurses Station, when Nathan comes off the elevator and greets her happily. “Hey,” Julia smiles to see him. Nathan takes a folded piece of paper out of his inside jacket pocket, places it on the counter and uses one finger to slide it towards Julia. She seems excited and already looks like she knows what it is before opening it. Julia picks it up and unfolds it, eager to read, “Officer Nathan Weber, we are pleased to inform you...” Julia reads, before Nathan jumps the gun and explodes, “I made Detective!” Nathan picks Julia up and spins her around, filled to the brim with excitement. Nathan continues, “All those long hours, all my hard work, the stakeouts, the busts... it’s all paid off! I had to come over right away to tell you. We need to celebrate! What do you say we go to the top of the Empire State Building and announce to the city that there’s a new Detective on the force with the NYPD that’s ready to protect the streets?” Julia’s excitement deflates as soon as Nathan mentions the top of the Empire State Building. Nathan instantly notices. “What? What is it? Whenever I share a happy moment with you, or try to, things coast for a little while, and then I say something and the air just gets sucked right out of the room.” Julia denies Nathan’s statement, telling him she hates it when he starts to question her like a suspect, or crack her like a tough case. “You are a tough case!” Nathan shouts, and then remembers to lower his voice in the hospital, “It’s like you won’t let yourself have any happiness, and it makes me wonder why you even bother to be with me?” Julia realizes Nathan’s right and she has been derailing their relationship.
~June 2007~ Evan explains Fiona’s stance for her. “Well Mr. Klein, it appears Ms....” Evan refers to Fiona’s application, “... Applewhite... has come to the conclusion that I am morally reprehensible and unfit to sign her bi-weekly check. Care to state your case Ms... Applewhite?” Evan puts her on the spot... Fiona seems engaged by Evan’s challenge. “Well... fine. I witnessed Mr. Royale telling a woman, convincing her, though she was obviously distraught, that she was incapable of being a mother, and advising her to give her baby up for adoption.” Evan waits for her to continue, but it seems she’s done. “Is that it? My my, you really do need this internship, you’ve so much to learn. Ms.... Applewhite, are you a mother?” Evan asks. Fiona concedes she’s not. “Exhibit A!” Evan exclaims, “Ms.... Applewhite is NOT a mother. Therefore she knows not the emotional, financial, and social challenges a new mother faces in her day-to-day life!” Herbert Klein seems to be enraptured by this mock trial. Evan continues, “Ms.... Applewhite, what is the extent of your personal history with the defendant?” Fiona’s confused, “The defendant?” Evan’s frustrated, “YES! The defendant, the woman whose honor you are determined to defend, the defendant!” Fiona concedes that she doesn’t know the woman. “Exhibit B!!” Evan exclaims, louder than before, “Ms... Applewhite bears no knowledge of, nor shares any personal history WITH the heretofore unnamed defendant. Therefore she has no grounds to make judgments to the contrary that said defendant is unprepared for the challenging task of motherhood.” Fiona protests, “Now wait a minute!” But Evan refuses to wait, “Ms... Applewhite, please state, for the record, the extent of your personal history with the accused.” “I have none!” Fiona concedes, infuriated. “Exhibit C!!!” Evan shouts, before Fiona interrupts him. “Shut up! Enough of your exhibits. Okay, I am not a mother. Okay, I don’t have all the facts. But aren’t you supposed to be civil servants? To carry out the wishes of your client, not tell them what those wishes are or should be? Who are you to tell her she’s not mothering material?! No, I’m not a mother, but I have one, and I know what one can endure and what one can’t. So don’t you DARE tell me that as a woman that I can’t stand up for someone who is being forced into a decision by someone who just wants to collect the legal fees!” “ORDER IN THE COURT!” Herbert Klein pipes up, caught up in the drama of the argument... “... sorry,” Klein apologized a bit more timidly. Evan steps up to defend himself, “Ms... Applewhite. Royale & Klein are highly regarded legal COUNSEL. People, usually in distress, turn to us for legal advice because they consider us knowledgeable about the law, about life... For you to come in here, and pass judgment on me so quickly, tells me I would never select you for any jury in my court cases. But for a woman who is such a spitfire that she would challenge me fearlessly... It tells me you have much to learn, but possibly much to teach me. Perhaps over dinner... and breakfast the following morning?”
~August 2007~ “I’m sorry,” Christian rubbed Terrence on the back, bringing about a tense, close moment between them, “And I know that there’s a lot of raw emotion for you right now. But I think once you get a little more perspective on this, you’ll see this was really the best thing you could have done.” Terrence wants to laugh at Christian’s reassurance, “you are so young,” Terrence reminds himself about Christian. “And age is just another political standard used to separate and polarize people,” Christian responds, surprising Terrence again. Christian continues, “You’re hurting. Emma must be too. But what’s done is done! The damage is the maximum it can be, you’re going to what, un-ring that bell and things will flip back to the way they were? The greatest disservice you could do is rob yourself of the life you fought so hard to live because of your guilt.”

<<<
~Early October 2007~ Henry explains the altercation to Leo, and that Halperin was planning to expose VSI. Leo thinks fast, and comes up with the idea to stage an accident to explain the blunt force head trauma. But they need to have a believable story. Noticing the family photo amidst the shattered glass of the frame, Henry supposes they stage a car wreck, as if Charles was abandoning his family and swerved off the road. Henry checks Halperin’s detailed date book, and sees that the family should all be out tonight. Leo calls Ford to send him to the Halperin home to take Charles’s clothing. Henry decides to transfer $1 million to Halperin’s account to make it look like he embezzled money to leave town.
~July 2007~ Nathan lets himself into Julia’s apartment, and he’s furious. He finds her sitting on the couch, zoned out. He slams the door, getting Julia’s attention. Nathan raises his arms as if to ask her what’s going on. “Where the hell were you?!” Nathan finally says. “Here,” Julia tells him. “Here. HERE. Tonight was the policeman’s ball. You promised me you’d be there. And what happened this time?!” Julia, still in her daze, told him, “My mother sent me an email.” Nathan shrugged, waiting for more. He grew impatient, “So what? You never talk about your mother. What, is she sick? Did someone die? WHAT!... TALK TO ME!” Julia’s shaken from her daze, and gets up to try to explain, “She found my email... I don’t talk about her because I don’t want her to know where I am. I’ve been hiding from her for years.” Nathan’s anger fades as he realizes she’s finally opening up to him about something. “Why? Is she dangerous? Did she do something? Did... you do something?” Nathan wonders. Julia’s eyes are watering. “When I was younger... I found my father... dead. Hanging. I was convinced my mother did it. But I had no proof. Just my gut feeling. This gnawing sickness I felt... like she knew more about it than she said. When she was giving her statement, the surprise she was expressing... it seemed so fake. So as soon as I could... I left. And now she has my email address. And it’s only a matter of time before she figures out where I am.” Nathan looks betrayed, completely gut-punched. “I don’t believe you,” he says, shocking her.
~October 31st, 2007~ Thomas lifts his head from Rebecca’s shoulder when he hears her crying, “What happened? Why are you crying?” Rebecca brushes off Thomas’s question, “It’s nothing. I’m sorry.” Thomas persists, and Rebecca finally admits, “The last time I was in this hospital, my mother came to identify my father.” Thomas realized Rebecca only recently lost her father in a car accident, and was instantly apologetic, “I’m so sorry, Rebecca, I haven’t even thought of what being here would mean for you.” Thomas quickly switches roles with her and takes Rebecca into his arms, putting things into perspective since his father very well could survive this.
~August 2007~ Christian tells Terrence that coming out was difficult for him too, “I’m sure it’s hard on everyone in different ways, but I was in foster care growing up. I didn’t know anything else, I didn’t believe the family that said they wanted me to stay forever because it had never been true. I always moved. Something different happened with the Fields, though. They really seemed to mean it. And the adoption went through! I was so happy, and I felt that I could really tell them anything. We were on our way to family dinner out because it was Saturday night. I mean, these people taught me what a tradition was supposed to be, gave me that sense of stability. So we’re in the car, and I just blurted it out. My father swerved, and we struck a car in the other lane and our car flipped over. I didn’t even get to hear any kind of reaction outside of the shock that made my father swerve. I couldn’t take it back, I couldn’t say I was joking. It was just done. Over, in one night. And I cried for weeks. These two people were dead, two people who wanted nothing more than to love me and give a lost, lonely child a home... and they had no reason to pick me. But they did. I used to think if I had just stayed in foster care, maybe they’d have gotten a different kid, and they’d still be alive. But after wrestling with the guilt for years, and landing back in foster care until I was eighteen, I just had to let it go because it was killing me too. And if they died and I lived... if I gave up after that it really would have been all for nothing, wouldn’t it? So I decided to be me again. Honest me, open me, fearless me. Live the life I was born to live. We can’t control the reactions and the pain we cause by being ourselves, we can only choose to hide who we are to not rock the boat and then suffer in a life filled with regret, or we can choose to embrace who we are and take every chance to help people become okay with it over time. And have no regrets.” Christian’s passionate speech impressed Terrence, who felt foolish that he dismissed Christian as ‘so young.’ Christian was obviously an old soul, and some voice within Terrence kept telling him to kiss him. Hoping to embrace a life without regret, Terrence ran his hand along Christian’s jaw and Christian’s eyes closed, affected by Terrence’s strong touch. Terrence took the lac k of resistance to be an invitation, and leaned in to kiss Christian passionately. Christian’s hands ran up Terrence’s chest and around the back of his neck to hold Terrence in their kiss.
~June 2007~ “I wouldn’t break bread with you if you were the last breathing entity in this solar system,” Fiona stressed. Herbert was amused by Fiona’s rejection of Evan, “You can start Monday morning,” Herbert smiled, shaking her hand with his sweaty palm. Fiona was trying to process how she landed this job, and whether she even wanted it, but she couldn’t help but feel drawn to... and needed by... these two amoral, maladjusted oddballs.
~July 2007~ “I can’t believe you!” Nathan is incredulous, “All these months, trying to get close to you, trying to know you, trying to find that light that I’d catch glimpses of flickering in your eyes, and THIS is what you’ve been holding back?! I’M A POLICE DETECTIVE FOR CHRIST’S SAKE! And this crime that you’ve been suspicious about since you were a kid is the wall you’ve put between us all this time? Why didn’t you come to me? Say something to me? Ask for help? Do you know how much I love you? How I would do anything for you? But all you do is push me away?! TRUST ME!” Julia’s tears are trailing down her cheeks, “You don’t understand,” Julia insisted. “No!” Nathan corrected her, “You won’t LET me understand!” Nathan stormed out, and Julia slumped down onto the couch, looking around at her empty apartment... her empty life.
~October 31st, 2007~ Thomas enters Theodore’s (John Ingle) hospital room a while after his surgery. Thomas puts his hand on his father’s arm and accidentally wakes Theodore up. Thomas apologizes, and urges him to go back to sleep. “Is it true? I had a heart attack?” Theodore asked. Thomas confirmed it, and asked what happened, what brought it on? Theodore thought for a second and then realized, “I won the lottery!” Thomas thought his father was suffering from being heavily medicated. But Theodore kept on, talking about how he buys a ticket from the same newsstand outside Hunter every morning, just as a novelty, but when he read the numbers in the paper, he realized he won the $350 million jackpot! Thomas urged him to stay calm, not to repeat his earlier incident. Theodore asked if he called his sister and brother. “Half-siblings,” Thomas corrected him. Theodore wants to make sure his children know that he’s okay.
~August 2007~ “Wow,” Christian laughed, as he and Terrence broke from their kiss. “I’m sorry,” Terrence quickly apologized. Christian was perplexed, “Why?! It was a pretty damn good kiss,” he smiled, leaning into Terrence, only for Terrence to stand and step away from him. “Why?” Terrence thought it was obvious, “I was caught up in the moment, but you’re younger than both my children, I’m directing you in a show, it’s all sorts of inappropriate.” “Terrence...” Christian tries to calm him, “There were two of us in that kiss just then. It’s still not socially ‘appropriate’ for two men to be married under the law in most states. Do you really think I care that you’re older, if you also happen to be talented, handsome, charming, intelligent, funny, passionate, I could go on and on. If the only reason you want to ignore this attraction between us, is because of my age, I’m sorry, last I checked I was old enough to smoke, drink, drive and vote for President. They don’t even card me at the gay bars anymore, as hard as that is to get used to. Terrence, you’ve never caught me looking at you?” Christian asks, drawing Terrence slowly closer until they engaged in another soft, passionate kiss.
~November 1st, 2007~ Thomas looks through his father’s address book and dials a number for his half-brother James (Alec Musser). We see James, in bed, with a gorgeous brunette, having too good of a time. James’s cell phone vibrates on his bedside table, and James reaches to look at the screen, and the number registers as ‘unknown’. Ignoring the call and tossing the phone back on the table, James turns over in bed and we see he’s got a gorgeous blonde in bed with him too! Thomas leaves a voicemail for James, “Hey... this is Thomas... Baldwin... your half-brother. Give me a call back... dad had a heart attack... He’s okay, but he wanted me to catch you up.... Um... so call me back.” Thomas then finds a number for “Jenna Work” and dials that, and a man answers “Shenanigans!” Thomas asks to speak to Jenna, and hears the man hand the phone over to her, telling her to keep it short and sweet. Jenna, in pigtails and a VERY short German barmaid’s uniform, takes the phone. “Jenna?” Thomas asks.
“Yeah, what? I’m workin’.” Jenna says rudely.
“It’s Thomas”
“Who?”
“Your half-brother...”
“Oh... right. What the hell are you calling for? You in jail or something?”
“No, nothing like that... It’s dad... he had a heart attack.”
“... Is he okay?”
“Yeah. He just wanted me to let you know.”
“Well he’s old. I guess it happens. What brought it on?”
“... He won the lottery.”
“Is he that weak, that some $20 scratch-off sends him into a coronary?!”
“Believe it or not... he won $350 million.”
Jenna’s side of the line went dead for a moment... “Are you serious?” She asked, breathing a little heavier. A patron at the table behind her pinches her nearly-exposed rear end to get her attention and waves his empty beer mug at her, silently demanding a refill. Jenna hangs up, gets down in the patron’s face and roars “I QUITTTT!!!!”
~Early October 2007~ Having set the chain of events in motion regarding the cover-up of Charles Halperin’s death, Leo and Henry met to discuss their next step. Henry believes Charles hid the evidence he had against them, and it most likely was counted among the belongings his wife will inherit. We see Ford Collins (David Chisum) in an already-crashed car with Charles Halperin in the driver’s seat. The smashed framed family portrait from his desk at VSI is mixed in with his various other belongings in the backseat. Ford is wearing gloves and trying to position Charles in the right spot for Ford to smash his head into the steering wheel. Ford mentally prepares himself for the gruesome task, and takes a deep breath in before whacking Charles Halperin’s head into the wheel. Back at VSI, Leo shares, “Hopefully the secrets Halperin had over us will die with him, and we’ve created an elaborate enough scene to keep his wife on edge, so we can work to cover our asses. If only we knew what we were looking for...” Leo’s cold, detached words replayed in Henry’s head in the present day as he realized how many other people were broken by the day Charles Halperin died.

Epilogue - Present Day
Thomas Baldwin sits staring at a thick, detailed pen in his living room, when Theodore enters. “What’ve you got there?” Theodore is intrigued by the pen. “Oh, Rebecca gave this to me for my birthday... it belonged to her father and she said it was very important to him,” Thomas explains, “I was just thinking about how little Rebecca has left of him, and how lucky I am to still have you here, after the scare you gave me last year. I mean, mom’s back, I have Eddie and Didi... even Jenna and James keep it interesting if nothing else. I’ve made a good impression in my little role at VSI. I’m just really lucky... and I’m really grateful I didn’t lose you last year.” Thomas hugs his father tightly.
Eleanor is home, sitting in a man’s robe. She curls up in a chair that looks like it holds memories for her, and she has a flash of Charles, wearing the robe she has on right now, giving her a warm hug from behind. Remembering something else, suddenly, she gets up and goes to the bottom drawer in the writing desk, opens it, and pulls out the broken framed picture of the Halperin family from Charles’s desk at VSI. The glass is still shattered and it looks exactly the way it did when it broke. Eleanor looks at it and a wave of deep sorrow washes over her. “You said ‘forever’. I know that you meant it. I just know you did. I still don’t understand,” she told her husband in the photo. He looked like the husband that she knew. Growing angry, Eleanor beats the framed photo against the desk violently, breaking the frame further, until the picture slips out and floats to the floor. There’s writing on the back that Eleanor never knew was there. Picking it up, the handwriting is instantly recognizable as her husband’s. Written simply, it reads “The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword”. Even more confused and frustrated by the phrase’s significance, Eleanor throws the photo in the trash.
“Did you thank him for the flowers?” Carina asks, shaking Julia from her daze. “No...” Julia says, “I don’t know if I should. All this time, my father’s death was what stood between me really being with Nathan. Really opening up to him. And now I have my answers about my father... but James is the one who broke through my wall. I’m not even sure when it happened, how it happened. James was there every step of the way. Nathan would’ve been, if I’d let him. What do I do?” Julia seems truly torn. Carina doesn’t really have an answer for her.
Fiona and Evan still sit at the edge of her desk. “I was pretty naive,” Fiona conceded. “Exhibit D,” Evan smirked, nudging her with his shoulder. “But to think of something like my father’s death... I can’t imagine why he needed to die. He was such a good man. In a world full of selfish, lying bastards, he was SUCH a good man. He just finally established the life he always wanted. Why did it all have to be snatched out from under him?” Fiona struggles to see the logic, the law of the world, that would make sense of it. Evan sympathizes, “Some things just are. The law is so much about assigning blame, pointing fingers, accountability. But if we look deeply enough, we’re all partly to blame for the state of things, the world we find ourselves in. The life we make for ourselves. And if everyone’s to blame, then no one’s any more to blame than anyone else. Some things just are. I’m sorry about your father.” Fiona’s surprised and somewhat comforted by the permission to not fully understand something. “Shall we discuss this further over breakfast in bed?” Evan couldn’t help but ask. “No,” Fiona said, without missing a beat. She’d had so much practice telling him no. But it was nice to have Evan listen to her for once... like her father used to.
Christian wakes up with a start, and looks around, disappointed to remember he’s in a car, leaving New York behind. Dominic noticed Christian’s startled awakening, “Where’d you go? You were out for a while,” Dom smiles. Christian wasn’t sure of his answer, “...I was just dreaming of better days.”

Unfortunately, scheduling problems and lack of ideas has left me with no other choice but to end this fan fiction. It's a sad day for me, but this is a decision that I felt had to be made. I want to thank all the loyal readers (you know who you are) for following ANWT for this long. I also appreciate all the feedback that I've received, good and bad alike, during the course of this fan fiction. Lastly, I could have never have done this without the help of 2 amazing friends. P.J., you are a God-send. Co-writing this fic together was a phenomenal experience that will always be remembered. Thanks for all your support, nagging, and friendship. I wouldn't have had it any other way. DrewH, without you, I would have gone crazy. Thanks for helping me keep my cool and giving me great story ideas in the process. And to all the readers, whoever and wherever you are, thanks for letting us turn your world. It's been a fun ride.
With that said, the ending will be posted in parts. Each part will be posted whenever I can get around to it, so please be patient. And now, part 1 of "A New World Turns: The Ending".

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carly finds Brad an apartment to sub-lease at the Oakdale Towers. Brad nitpicks the place to death, until Carly finally shuts him up. She points out he was all for pushing her to "move on" when Jack left town. Now she's the one advising him to move on with his life. Brad reminds her they've never been friends. He's always been a pain in the ass, Carly admits. But he grew up a little while Jack was out of town, looking out for her and the kids the way he did. That makes him family. Rolling his eyes, Brad admits the fabulous apartment isn't that bad...all it needs is a recliner and a big screen tv to make it perfect. Carly says he might want to add a bed, unless he plans on unrolling a sleeping bag on the floor. And sleeping alone for the forseeable future.
Jack calls in a favor and gets access a copy of the OPD file on Carly's accident. Other than Katie, the OPD had no suspects. He's upset to find a report detailing the earlier vandalism on Carly's car that he knew nothing about. The detective's notes question if the incidents are related. Jack's face turns ashen and he storms out to his car. Pulling out his cell, he leaves an angry message---"you have a lot of explaining to do."
Jack remains silent during dinner, and after she sends the kids to do their homework, Carly asks what's bothering him. Calmly, Jack asks why she didn't tell him her car was vandalized. Carly shrugs her shoulders and reminds him he wasn't around. At the time, she wasn't even sure if he gave a damn about her. Kissing her, he tells her everything he's done, he's done for her.
A few days later, Carly takes Brad to the mall, to help him furnish his new apartment. While they shop, Brad notices Mac out of the corner of his eye. He doesn't say anything to Carly, but he makes an excuse and confronts Mac, thinking he's stalking Carly. Mac tells him he's an idiot, that he's picking up some equipment for the hockey team. Brad backs off, but he's still suspicious. Later, he plays the sympathy card and invites himself back to supper at Milltown, and takes Jack aside, volunteering to help him "knock some sense" into Mac, Snyder style. Parker walks by and overhears Jack thank him for watching out for Carly, but refuses to confront Mac. After Brad leaves, Jack insists on staying the night with his family---on the couch.
The next day, taping runs late at WOAK. Expecting his furniture, Brad asks Jimmy to wait for the delivery men. When he's finally done with work, Brad runs in to Carly in the parking lot. She chides him for acting like a kid at Christmas, anxious see the presents Santa's brought. Brad reminds her she had fun too---spending his money. Carly admits she did, and Brad invites her to be his first official houseguest...and help do all the "woman-y things" like arranging the furniture. She agrees. When they arrive, everything's been delivered but the bed. Brad thanks Jimmy, and he and Carly are soon engrossed in unpacking and rearranging the furniture.
When the kids arrive home from school, Jack is walking up the block to greet them. While JJ and Sage do their homework, Parker asks Jack if he had a talk with Mac. Jack denies it, and wonders why Parker's asking. Parker admits he overheard Brad accuse Mac of stalking Carly. And that while Carly befriended Mac at first, she grew uncomfortable around him, and he saw them arguing on the porch the last time Mac stopped by the house. Jack assures him there's nothing to worry about. Parker berates him for acting like it's no big deal. Maybe if Jack had been around to see it like Parker and Brad were, he'd think differently. Parker has a bad feeling about Mac---he thinks he's lying about something. And frankly, he thinks Jack's lying to him too.
A knock at the door interrupts them. It's Margo, accompanied by two cops. She tersely asks if Carly's home. Carly's still at work, Jack tells her. Margo shakes her head. Carly's not at WOAK. When Jack asks why Margo wants to know, she takes him aside and tells him 911 got a call half an hour ago from Oakdale Towers---Brad's been stabbed. He's been rushed to Memorial, and it doesn't look good. Jack asks what that has to do with Carly. Carly was seen entering the building with Brad, Margo answers. But no one saw her leave. And her purse was found at the scene. Jack pales---Carly's obviously been kidnapped. Margo hesitates--or she's the suspect in an attempted murder. Jack scoffs at the idea. Margo's serious. She mentions the fact Carly's been seen with Brad all around town lately. She was helping Brad set up residence, using his credit card and ordering furniture, including a bed. She even mentions Katie accused Carly and Brad of having an affair minutes after Jack left town. It wouldn't be the first time a lover's spat had ended in violence.
Jack tells Margo she's wrong...he and Carly are back together. Margo snidely reminds him it wouldn't be the first time Carly's deceived him. Jack snaps, reminding her Carly was nearly run down just a few weeks ago. Margo says it was probably just an accident, and Carly used it to drum up sympathy. Finally, Jack comes clean. The reason he suspects someone is after Carly, is because someone's after him. Right before Christmas, Jack went back undercover with the FBI after they informed him Ben Harris had been brutally attacked. An obituary of Joe Teague was left at the scene, along with an old newspaper article about Jack finding the evidence that linked Teague to the Milltown Church fire. The FBI has been investigating a white supremicist group headed by Joe Teague's son, Junior. Ben was put into protective custody, and the Bureau wanted to put him, Carly and the kids under protection too while they hunted Junior down. Jack refused, staged a break up, and left town to keep his family safe. Margo chastises him for not informing her--she could have at least placed the house under surveillance while Jack was out of town. Jack assures her he made his own arrangements before going undercover and trying to get information from one of Teague's old buddies about where Junior might hide out. He couldn't find out anything useful, and he came home after hearing about Carly's accident.
Margo puts out an APB on Carly's car, and Jack asks to be a part of the investigation. He calls the FBI, hoping they've had a break in finding Junior. Emma comes over to be with the kids, while Margo authorizes police protection for the house. Emma tries to reassure the kids, but Parker overhears the officers speculate that Carly's probably already dead. Convinced that Mac is behind Carly's disappearance, he sneaks out of the house with a baseball bat. While Parker hides in the bushes at Mac's house down the street, Carly wakes up in the dark, screaming, recalling finding Brad laying in a pool of his own blood.
Parker spies Mac sitting in his front room, in front of his laptop. When Mac leaves the room, he sneaks inside the house, and is shocked. There are candid pictures of his family hanging on the wall, along with schedules of their weekly activities written out. When he hears Mac returning, he waits by the door, and hits him in the back, knocking Mac to the floor. As the older man coughs up blood, Parker shouts he wants to know what Mac's done with Carly. Mac denies any involvement, and Parker hits him again. Parker shouts Brad was right, Mac is some stalker-pervert fixated on his mom. Slowly, Mac crawls into a corner as he coughs up blood. Parker raises his bat again, as Mac tries to calm him down. Mac understands that it looks bad, but he's not stalking anyone. He's been protecting them. Parker laughs at him--he's a cop's kid, he'd have known if they were under police protection. Understanding nothing he says will convince Parker, he offers up proof. The phone number of the man who hired him.
Emma panics, realizing Parker's taken off. The officers search the house and call Jack, who races home. The officers report they've searched the area, and Parker's bike is still in the garage. Jack tells them to keep searching and begs Emma not to worry before taking off again.
Parker tells Mac he's calling the police instead, and pulls out his cell phone. Hearing someone else enter the house and call out Mac's name, he hides by the door and raises his bat. Just as the person steps through the doorway, Mac yells at them to duck, and they roll to the floor as Parker swings and misses. Parker's ready to swing again, but stops cold when he realizes it's Jack. Parker tells him he's found Carly's kidnapper--Mac. Jack yells at him, asking what the hell he's doing running out on Emma in the middle of a crisis. Mac yells at him explain everything before Parker hits anyone else with the bat. Then Jack comes clean. Mac is ex-FBI, the first partner Jack had when he joined the Bureau. Parker was right, Jack lied when he left town---but it was to go undercover--and he only agreed knowing someone he trusted would be protecting his family. He got Mac the job at the rink, so he could have a way to keep an eye on them without scaring either Carly or them. Mac called him right after Carly's accident, and Jack decided to come home. Jack assures him there's no way Mac had anything to with Brad's stabbing or Carly's disappearance.
Parker apologizes to Mac, and Jack scolds him for taking matters into his own hands. As Jack arranges for a squad car to take Mac to the ER, he gets a call on his cell phone. The caller's voice is disguised, and he's told that if he wants the blonde returned safely, he'll come to where Joe Teague was murdered. Alone.
Carly explores the cabin she's being held in. To her horror, she realizes it's the same cabin she and Jack took refuge in after being trapped by Joe Teague in the tool shed and nearly freezing to death. Where Jack was stabbed and Teague was killed after fighting with Ben Harris. Carly desperately tries to escape, but the door is barred from the outside and all the windows are boarded over. Carly hears someone outside and tries to hide, hoping she can just rush out past them. She can't see the man's face, but he advises her not to run, and holds a gun out for her to see. Besides, her hero is on his way to rescue her---she wouldn't want to miss that. Carly tells the man he'd be better off leaving---Jack will kill him for taking her and killing his brother. The last he heard, Brad was hanging on in the ICU at Memorial. Then all he has to do is let her go, and he'll live, Carly tries to bargain. Jack needs to pay, the man tells her, turning around and introducing himself as Joe Teague Jr. Carly pales recognizing Jimmy, the intern from WOAK.
Joe/Jimmy tells her to scurry out from the corner she's hiding in. He's not going to hurt her---at least until Jack gets there. He laughs as Carly stays hidden, and tells her how fun it was being so close to her at WOAK, knowing he could just kill her anytime he wanted. It amused him to see her operate, bedding Brad while Jack-the-hero was out of town. And the way she tortured poor Katie made him hate Carly all the more. That's why he trashed her car---for Katie---but he also hoped to scare her enough to bring Jack back to town. It took nearly running her down to do that though. He could have played this out for months, but when Katie left town, it left him without someone to take the blame. So he stepped up his timetable. And when Brad asked him to let the furniture guys in and she showed up too---it was the perfect opportunity.
Carly and Joe/Jimmy hear a car pull up, and Carly makes a break for the door, screaming for Jack to stay away. Jimmy hits her, knocking her down, then grabs her up by the arm and hauls her out to the porch with him. Pointing his gun to her head, Jimmy tells Jack to toss away his gun, then kneel down. His dad would want his murderer to die on his knees. Jack wants Jimmy to let Carly drive away in his car first before he'll toss the gun. Carly's horrified and begs Jack not to agree---Jimmy's going to kill her either way. Jack tells her that's not true, Jimmy promised Carly wouldn't be harmed. Jimmy laughs...as long as Jack knows what a faithless bitch Carly was, sleeping with his brother, he'll let her go. He tells Jack to throw his gun away and walk away from the car. When Jack does, Jimmy drags Carly with him off the porch, and moves with her closer to the car. Eyes locked on her, Jack tells Carly he loves her.
When they get to the front of the car, Jimmy tosses Carly to the ground and shoots three rounds into Jack's chest. Carly scrambles for the car door as a shot rings out, dropping Jimmy to the ground. Screaming, Carly dashes over to Jack, begging him not to die as she presses her hand over his chest. Jack groans, and tells her not to worry, she's not getting rid of him that easily. Carly feels a solid mass, and realizes Jack's wearing a bulletproof vest. Suddenly she's aware of a handful of FBI agents swarming the scene, and realizes he had an entire squad backing him up. Relieved beyond belief, she smothers him with kisses. Jack groans in pain, and protests going to a hospital when one of the medics suggests it. Carly overrules him, and tells him she's putting her foot down. The sooner he's healed, the sooner they can get married. Jack laughs that he hasn't asked her yet. Carly tells him she's not waiting for him to ask, they're getting married exactly one week after he's discharged. No ifs, ands or butts about it. Laughing, Jack agrees---but he's not taking her name. Carly kisses him, and tells him to shut up.

Episode 13

Ashley Abbotts House
Paul
What do you say Ashley, will you marry me?
Ashley
Please tell me I am not going to regret this.
Paul
I promise. This will help me out so much and I promise all I am looking for is a wife on paper. We can sleep in separate bedrooms and everything.
Ashley
Oh, Paul I’m not worried about that at all. I know you would respect me and my space.
Paul
So, I haven’t heard a yes or a no yet. I’m sorry to rush you, but I am desperate.
Ashley
Wow, thanks.
Paul
I didn’t mean it like that.
Ashley
I know. (she takes a deep breath) Okay. I will marry you, on one condition.
Café Russe
Thorne
Donna? Care to explain that voicemail you just left for Jackie?
Donna
Thorne, it isn’t what you think. It isn’t what it sounded like.
Thorne
Oh, well good, because it sounds like you were plotting with Jackie Marone to destroy my brother’s marriage to your sister.
Donna
Thorne, its no secret that Jackie or myself are big fans of Ridge. But, we had nothing to do with Ridge and Brooke’s marriage crumbling. Your brother took care of that all on his own.
Thorne
Yeah, that may be, but I heard everything you just said to Jackies voicemail. You two had a plan cracked out, only you didn’t need to follow through with it. I cant believe you would be so selfish and spiteful.
Donna
Now Thorne, wait a minute.
Thorne
No you wait and let me finish. How would you like it if someone was scheming to break us up? Huh? You know as well as I do that not many people like us being together, but we fought them and now you have the nerve to pull this?
Donna
Thorne, of course I would hate it if someone would do that to us, but I know Brooke so well I know that Ridge is not the one for her and now she knows it too. I know people don’t like us together, but I also know that we are meant to be together just like I know Brooke is meant for Nick, not Ridge.
Thorne
I wish I felt the same.
Donna
Of course you feel differently than I do. Ridge is your brother. Its no wonder you want what he feels is best for him.
Thorne
No, Donna, you misunderstood. Yes, I don’t feel the same way about Ridge and Brooke as you do, but I wasn’t talking about them. I was talking about us.
Donna
Thorne… what are you saying?
Thorne
I’m saying, I think we are over Donna. I can’t be with someone who goes behind my back and does something like this. I can’t do it to me and I cant do it to Ally. (he leaves with Donna having tears running down her face)
Ashley’s House
Paul
What’s the condition?
Ashley
We sign a pre nup. I know that you would never do anything that would hurt me, but just for security reasons I think…
Paul
Ash, its not problem. No offense taken, I completely understand, and I will have the papers drawn up tomorrow, when we go by the courthouse to get our marriage license.
Ashley
Tomorrow? Don’t you only have a certain amount of days to get married before the licence expires.
Paul
Yeah I thought we would get married as soon as possible. The trial will be starting soon, is that going to be a problem?
Ashley
No, no problem at all.
Paul
Great, I am going to call my lawyer and tell her the good news. (he goes to the back of the house)
The doorbell rings, and Ashley answers it.
Ashley
Jack what a lovely surprise, I wasn’t expecting you tonight.
Jack
Yeah, I just swung by to tell you that I am leaving town.
Ashley
What? You’re leaving so soon?
Jack
Relax. I am only going to be gone for a few days, I will be back, I’m not through with my business meetings.
Ashley
Well good, because I am going to need someone to walk me down the aisle.
Jack
I am sorry did you say aisle?
Ashley
Yes. I have agreed to marry Paul to better his case against his ex-brother-in-law.
Jack
Look we will have to talk about this when I get back, I promise I wont be long. By the way I am going on my trip with Paul’s…
Ashley’s phone rings.
Ashley
Hang on Jackie. It Abby, I haven’t talked to her all day. Go ahead answer it, I will let myself out and I will see you in a couple of days.
The Next Day
Extreme Catwalk: Forrester Edition Offices
Thomas
Rick you can’t do that.
Rick
Well my Executive Producer credit says otherwise.
Thomas
Grandpa, Dad, you and the other producers, and myself have already decided on principal casting. All of the contestants have been contacted, they meet here tomorrow. Your going to call somebody at the last minute and tell them they have been replaced?
Rick
Yeah, I just don’t like this girl.
Thomas
Well, I do!
Rick
I think you like this girl.
Thomas
What?
Rick
You are pathetic, Thomas. You only meet this girl at her audition and you fall head over heels with her. Here you can take her picture home with you and have sweet dreams. It will be the last time you see her.
Thomas
I like this girls sketches I see good things in them.
Rick
You cant see nothing you are so green it’s sickening.
Thomas
A lot of people would disagree with you Rick, after all that’s why I am here as a judge and you got a producer credit. Everyone knows it is only a title, you do not have the creative control to make a decision like this without consulting everyone else involved.
Rick
We will see about that
Thomas
Yeah we will.
Hospital
Stephanie visits Massimo in the hospital
Stephanie
Hey Mass, how are you, silly question I know. I kind of like this, I can talk all I want and you cant interrupt me with your overbearing tone. I am kidding, but you know it’s true. I just got in from Chicago, I went to visit Angela’s grave. I can’t believe it had been forty-five years since my baby was taken from me. You were there to comfort me remember? You helped me pull through, and damn it I am going to do the same for you. Wake up Mass, a lot of people need you. Our son needs you, I need you. There is so much more time to be had, don’t give up, don’t give up. That’s what you told me all those years ago and now I am telling you, don’t give up.
She walks out of the room and her cell phone rings
Stephanie
Hello
James
Stephanie, its James how are you are you back in town?
Stephanie
Yes, I am at the hospital, visiting Massimo.
James
What a coincidence, I am here consulting with a patient. I was wondering if you were free for lunch.
Stephanie
Yes I am, I would love to catch up, say meet me in hospital lobby in half an hour and we leave from there?
James
Sounds great, see you then.
James hangs up and walks down the hall, a mystery person is following him everywhere he goes.
Next on The Bold Ones
Paul Williams’s mother and brother arrive in Los Angeles.
The Mystery person is revealed.
Taylor continues to be out of control.
The cast of Extreme Catwalk: Forrester Edition meets the Judges.

Just a place to make comments about some of the soaps I watch...
Latest entry by Baffleball,
So since it's been... forever since I've even been here, or posted anything at all, or even looked at this blog for that matter, I figured I would post something just for the heck of it.
(On a side note, I'm going to have to go back through and look at this blog, simply because I have totally forgotten what I've even posted in here O__o)
So I've seen quite a bit of the Jan Spears saga (as I'll call it) on Youtube. To be quite honest, I think she's insane and she's evil... but that's what makes her such a neat character.
I can't believe some of the lengths she went through to try and make Shawn love her, although considering the fact that she's an obsessed pyscho-woman, it's not overly surprising. And it's really cute how she thinks her Kewpie doll actually speaks to her.
In many ways though, I feel bad for Heather Oleson. I mean, I'm sure she tried her best to act the part, and it's not entirely her fault if she can't act too well. I will definitely say I prefer Heather Lindell's acting, but part of me just feels bad for Heather Oleson, that's all.
And... I do wonder if Jan will ever be back on the show, someday.
That's all I guess... signing off.

The New Days Of Our Lives
Latest entry by Dr Neil Curtis,
Phillip grabbed Cassie by the arm and pulled her into the office so no one could see her. "Excuse us for a moment, Abigail" said Phillip as he escorted Abby out of the office. "What the hell are you doing here, Cassie" he asked angrily. It's been three damn years you had this face and you promise me once I help you gain custody of this lil brat of yours you would move me here tell Kate and Roman the truth about our marriage and about Rex and I" said Cassie as Abby listen at the door. "Cassie here is some cash and go settle in at the Salem Inn I will be over after work to discuss this with you" Said Phillip as he faked a smile for his son. "Thats the kid he had with MiMi" thoughted Abby.
Roman walked into Chez Rouge with 11 white roses in his hand. "Hey, Roman, who is the lucky lady" asked Jack as they shook hands. "Nicole Walker" said Roman. Jack spit out his drink, "Nicole Walker, you mean Eric's ex, Victor's Ex, Brady's Ex, Lucas' Ex, Victor's "Murderess", Chloe's face disfigurer and not to mention Kate and Sami's Frenemy" said Jack as Roman sat him down. "Yes that Nicole Walker, and I like her. Didn't Jennifer marry you after you married and raped my sister, attempted to marry Melissa for politcally reasons, and not the mention remain with you after you left town when Abby was a child and then fake your deaths numerous of times" said Roman. "Point Proven" said Jack as he ordered another drink.
"First Off, Dr Carver is a Kidnapper and falsely examine patients" said Neil as he glanced at Maggie. "Maggie, Alice, Dr. Evans weren't you all pronounced dead by Dr. Carver during the years 2003-2004 when the Salem Stalker was reigning in Salem" Said Neil as Maggie, Marlena, and Alice looked at Lexie. "Even you too, Mayor Carver" said Neil. Abe jumped up from his seat "That wasn't her fault, Neil" he yelled. "I Disagree, Mayor Carver, from my understanding Samantha Horton heard her mother screaming from her casket" said Dr. Joplin. "Alexandra do have some issues to work on" She said. "Well if it wasn't her fault, Keeping Hope Williams away from her son sure was" said Neil. "Thats Enough, Dr. Curtis" said a beautiful redhead girl as she walked in the meeting. "Sarah" said Neil as he grabbed her and hugged her. Sarah looked shocked as well as amused.
"My Darling Julie" said the mystery man as he walked through the Doug and Julie's home. "I vow to have you again, my Scarlett" he continued as he kissed Julie's picture. Suddenly John Black walked in. "Doug, Julie? I brought over your mail, it got mixed up, again" said John. The man hid in the coat closet with a knife in his hand. "I guess they are busy, I'll come back later" said John to himself as he walked out.
"Who can't be back, Julie" asked Doug. Suddenly Julie grabs the Spectator, "Neil Curtis, Darling" lied Julie as she showed him the paper. "Oh My, you know he is going to give poor Lexie a run for her money" said Doug. "But, Lexie is part DiMera she can stand her ground" said Julie. "Thats Right, Doll. Lets Go Home" said Doug as he begin to tell Julie about Phillip's little scheme.
Nicole walks in wearing a stunning red dress. "Nicole, you are beautiful" said Roman as he handed her the roses. "11 roses" she asked. you are the twelveth one, sweetheart" he said as he kissed her hand. "Oh Hell No, you are dating this, bitch" said Kate as she spit her drink in Nicole's face.

Cassandra woke up and looked around the unfamiliar room. She sighed as she got out of bed. She pulled on some shorts and a tee shirt and pulled her hair back into a ponytail. Not hearing any noise, she walked towards the kitchen and saw the cook. “Where is everyone?”
“Alexander left early this morning. He said he will be back soon. Would you like some breakfast?” The cook asked.
Cassandra nodded politely. “Yes please.”
The cook served Cassandra some toast, fruit and a glass of orange juice. “Alexander said you are not to leave the premises. He wants to talk to you when he gets back.”
Cassandra looked out the window. “Yes ma’am. I will not leave.”

The doors to the 5th Floor Nurses’ station open up, showing Michael Corinthos III stepping off the elevator. He slings his backpack over his shoulder and makes his way to the desk.
“Hi, excuse me miss?” Michael says to the pretty nurse working on the computer. “I’m looking for someone who works here. Maybe you can help me.”
“Michael?” says a voice behind him.
Michael turns around and is surprised to see Elizabeth. “Umm..hi.”
“Aren’t you supposed to do be in school?” she asks.
“Yeah….but I had something to do.” Michael turns away and rolls his eyes. Michael hasn’t really liked Liz since he found out she cheated on his cousin Lucky. “Maybe you can help me,” he says. “I need to talk to someone….about my mom.”
Liz’s stomach drops. It’s no secret she hates Carly. Carly’s always putting her nose in things that don’t concern her. Hell, she still blames Carly for meddling in her relationship with Jason and Lucky. “Well Michael if you want to talk to me you can.”
“No offense Elizabeth, but you’re not someone I would talk to about my mom. Is Dr. Winters around?” Michael says looking around, anxious to find someone other than Elizabeth.
“I can leave a message for her to call you if that’s what you’d like.”
“Yes, that’s good.” Michael hands her a piece of paper with his number on it. He walks to the elevator and steps on. He keeps the doors from closing and says, “Thank you Nurse Webber….Elizabeth. This is really important to me.”
Liz smiles at Michael and says you’re welcome. She picks up the phone and begins calling Lainey.
Back inside the elevator, Michael tosses the hair from his eyes and sighs. “I hope mom understands what I’m trying to do.”

The role of Serena Baldwin will now be played by Ambyr Childers (ex-Colby, AMC).
Serena dumped her books on her bed and shook Maxie awake. “Wake up, it’s like eleven! Don’t you have summer class or something?”
Maxie punched her pillow. “Or something.” She mumbled into her pillow. “Why are you waking me up?”
“Hunter hasn’t been in class in a week. He won’t answer my calls or my texts. I stopped by his dorm room and Jack said he is gone. All of his stuff is packed up and gone. Apparently he’s been gone almost a week. He never told me he was leaving.” Serena tosses her phone on the bed. “In fact, he told me he was going to stay in Port Charles for the summer.” Serena said angrily.
Maxie pushed herself up into a sitting position. “Why do you care about that loser anyways? Do I have to remind you how he acted the second your back was turned and he was with that brunette tramp? Mind you, this wasn’t the first time he’s done that. So he left, just let it go. You’ll get over it. All guys leave. Trust me.”
Serena wasn’t buying it. “No Maxie, not all guys leave. Hunter and I had something special. You wouldn’t understand.”
“I wouldn’t understand.” Maxie snorted. “Please Serena. I have the real deal before. Your relationship with Hunter was about as special as receiving a gift from your boyfriend…that he gave to his ex. Hunter was a loser with a complex who hit on girls right before your eyes! Wake up! That is not something special. It’s lame.”
Serena laid down on her bed and focused on a mark on the ceiling. She stayed like that for a long time. “Maybe you are right.” She said slowly. “Maybe I should let it go.”
“You should.” Maxie wasn’t being mean when she said, “I hate to say this, but everyone gets dumped sometimes. It happens. Maybe his plan was to go home early and not tell you. It has happened to the best of us, we just have to move on.”
“I know.” Serena rolled over and let her blond hair fall into her face. “I just have never been dumped like this before. I don’t want to cry any more though, you know?”
“Crying over a guy is so lame anyway.” Maxie said confidently. “This summer we will have an awesome time! Think of all the guys we will meet! In no time you will be saying Hunter who?” Maxie laughed. “I can’t believe I have to go to summer school, but so be it. At least you will be here with me.” Maxie lay back down. “I’m going back to sleep, ok?”

Alexander walked through the front doors of the mansion that he and Cassandra were currently living. He has a lot of things on his mind and he didn’t need Cassandra giving him a hard time. He made his way into the kitchen where he figured she might be. Looking like a little girl lost, she sat there eating her breakfast. He nodded to the cook. “Can you excuse us please? I need to talk to Cassie.”
Cassandra whipped around in her chair, happy to see Alex. “Alex, where have you been? I was getting worried about you. You have been gone a long time.”
Alexander sat down next to her. “There is no need to worry, I’m fine. Did you sleep alright?”
“Just fine. Where did you go this morning?”
“I had some business to attend to in Port Charles. Everything is good now.” He smiled tenderly at her. “Everything is just fine.
Cassandra still looked worried. “Did you? You know…. Did you see?”
Alex wiped his hand across his brow and frowned, cutting her off. “Cassie, you know I hate it when you ask me these questions. You know you aren’t supposed to yet you continually ask. What do you think will happen when the day comes when I am not here to protect you? You don’t want a repeat performance, do you?”
Cassandra shook her head and whispered. “No. I’m sorry.”
Alex picked her up and hugged her tightly. “I’ll always protect you…remember that.”
Cassie smiles, tucks her hair behind her head and walks out the room. Alex takes a cup of coffee from the counter and walks out to the terrace overlooking the water. A devious smile forms on his lips.

Hey everyone...
As Nancy Hughes might have said on ATWT before CBS broke in with a news bulletin, "I gave it a great deal of thought..."
I have decided to end production of Somerset on SON after 44 episodes. However, that is not the end of the serial as you knew it.
I want to be careful how I say this, but next month Somerset can be seen on "another network", as they call it. What I am going to do is promote the show a bit better, keep up with the episodes, but more importantly I will relaunch the show from Episode 1 at its new location so viewers who have not seen it can get caught up.
For those who think I may have run out of ideas, hardly. I actually have enough material for two years' worth of story. I'm looking forward to relaunching the show at its new site, and some of you post at it so you may know what it is.
I can't thank Errol, Toups and company enough for allowing me to have Somerset at SON for its start. I'll still be posting here, so I'm not going anywhere.
Take care.

Latest entry by Roman,

As the sun has set, a mournful nation is in shock and heartbroken over the assassination of their president. Lawrence’s body has been flown back to Washington D.C., and as the plane lands at the airport.......a distraught Forrest walks over to the staircase as Jennifer is being helped down. Their eyes lock.........and, once at the bottom of the staircase, she falls into Forrest’s arms and sobs deeply, only mustering the strength to say......
Jennifer: I’m so sorry.
Forrest holds on to her, and Jack comes up and takes her from Forrest.........as he sees his brother’s body being brought off of the plane. The nation, and especially the citizens of Salem, watch is disbelief as the casket carrying the president is loaded into a hearse to be taken to the morgue.
Jack, having placed Jennifer in her limousine, walks over to Forrest and tells him.........
Jack: Sir, I have that file you requested.
Forrest: Good. Get it to the F.B.I., the I.S.A. and Interpol. I know who killed my brother.......I just want the proof, so, when he is captured.......the charges will stick. But.......
Jack: Yes?
Forrest: Keep the identity of the person who ordered his assassination out of the media. They will only get in the way. Also.......contact Stefano DiMera and Shane Donovan. Tell them I’m signing off on their plan.
Jack: Yes, sir.
Forrest: And have Bo Kiriakis brought to Washington tomorrow. I’m going to offer him a job. I just hope he takes it.
Jack: Yes.........Mr. President.
As Jack walks off, Forrest asks him a question.......
Forrest: Jack.........I need a man I can trust as my Vice President. Interested?
Jack: {After a brief pause} With pleasure, sir.
Forrest: Good.
Both men walk to their cars. Forrest gets in his own limousine, and Jack sits in Jennifer’s limousine. As all the cars drive away from the runway and leave the airport, Jack places his hand on Jennifer’s hand........and it makes her break down once again. Jack puts his arm around her, and comforts her as she cries in his arms, as the motorcade drives off into the beautiful starlit night.
In Salem, the Hortons sit in the family living room and cry at what they have witnessed on the television. Maggie remarks that she didn’t think someone would a man as honorable as Lawrence. Hope doesn’t know why she would think that. People die every day........why should his death be any more important? Maggie is shocked by Hope’s attitude, and Hope doesn’t care. All she wants is Bo. And she will have him........
Hope: Even if I have to get rid of that whore he’s married to.
Maggie stands and looks at Hope, as the scene fades into.......
The DiMera household, where Orpheus comes downstairs for dinner. He rolls up his sleeves and sits down to eat, and Eric and Lucas walk through the door. Marlena comes out of the kitchen with Carrie and everyone sits down to silently eat. Everyone keeps looking at Orpheus, and after minutes of this tension, he puts his fork down and says......
Orpheus: Ok. Your grandfather and I have a plan in place. I can’t tell you what it is.
Lucas and Eric look at each other, with Lucas saying........
Lucas: I want in.
Eric: So do I.
Marlena: {Standing up} No. None of my children are getting involved. The country is in mourning. And you father and grandfather have enough on their plate without you two getting involved. Besides Lucas, you left home because of the violence.
Carrie: And now you want to in. You too, Eric. Interesting.
Lucas: I know all of that........I’m just sick of those damn Bradys running all over everything and everyone. Dad......you can see that, can’t you?
Orpheus: Of course, son. But there are reason why none of you can have any part in this. (Turning to Marlena) Great food as always, my dear. You are truly a great cook.
Marlena: Thank you, dear.
Orpheus: And now.......I’m going to meet with some people. I’ll see you all tomorrow morning. Good evening.
Orpheus heads out to meet with Stefano at the station, while Eric and Lucas decide to follow him. Marlena stays with Carrie, and as the men leave out...........
Steve and the new president sit in the Oval Office, going over then plans to attack the Brady Mansion and bring Roman and Shawn Brady to justice.........as, 90 minutes later, Lucas and Eric sit in Lucas’s car and listen in on Orpheus’s meeting with his father.........
Lucas: They need to get to the damn pont. I’m sick of sitting in this car. BTW.........how did you get that microphone into Stefano’s office?
Eric: I’m a DiMera, as are you. You know we have our ways.
Lucas: True. Wait a minute.........what did Dad just say?
Both men listen intently and both of them hear the plan to attack the Brady compound. They look at each other as Eric tells Lucas to hit the peddle........
Eric: I have to get to the house and warn Sami.
Lucas: What about the rest of the Bradys?
Eric: To hell with the rest of them! She’s the only one a I care about. If anything happened to her.......
Lucas: Calm down, little brother. We’re on our way.
Lucas starts his car and guns it towards the Brady Mansion...........
While Steve and Forrest converse with Shane on a conference call about when they strike. Forrest agrees that tomorrow is as good a time as any. He tells the men that he intends for Steve’s brother Bo to go along with them. Steve and Shane both ask why.........and Forrest tells him that the U.S. Attorney General is the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the country.......and that is what he intends to make Bo, if he excepts the position.
Back in Salem, Lucas and Eric pull up down the street from the mansion. They look at each, shake hands, and Eric jumps out of the car, racing towards the compound. He tries to stay out of sight as Lucas starts his car and drives off. He then picks up his phone and calls Sami’s private phone. When she answers, Lucas tells her Eric is on the grounds, and needs to talk to her. She thanks Lucas for the phone call, and he says........
Lucas: It’s the least I could for my brother. Take care.
As they both hang up........Bo’s private jet lands in Washington, D.C. He looks at the television as the nation mourns Lawrence’s death, and disembarks off the plane. He is met by F.B.I. agents and Secret Service agents, sent there by Forrest for his safety. He gets into a waiting limousine, the destination......
The White House.
At the Horton home, Hope goes upstairs to see her sister, Kimberly. She sees her laying in her bed, sleeping. Hope walks in and silently sits next to her. She takes her hand and holds it, while also wiping tears from her eyes. She then leans forward and quietly starts talking to Kimberly, telling her........
Hope: I tried calling Bo, but he had left town. I can’t believe the president is dead. What are we going to do? I hope Bo can protect us. I just don’t know, Sis.......
I just don’t know.
In his limousine driving through Washington, Bo calls Megan, asking how she’s doing. She says his parents are doing a fine job taking care of her. He tells her not to overdo it, and she smiles, saying he needs to stop worrying. He should have his mind on more important things, and he tells her.....
Bo: Nothing, and no one.......is more important than you.
Megan: My dad will be happy to hear that. Thank you, Bo.
Bo: For what?
Megan: Being by my side.
Bo then looks out the window, and tells Megan he has to go. They say their good-byes, and after they hang up, Bo’s car stops. Someone comes and opens the door, and as he gets out, he looks up at the beautiful White House Mansion........and slowly walks in.
In Salem, Roman comes downstairs and sees Sami putting her jacket on. He ask where she’s going, and she says out. He demands to know why she is running around after what happened in Dallas today, to which Sami replies..........
Sami: I think you know EXACTLY what happened in Dallas today.
Roman: What are you saying?
Sami: {After a pause} Did you? Did you have the president killed?
Roman: How dare you ask me something like that. What kind of damn monster do you take me for?!
Sami: The same monster who has been trying to have Orpheus locked away for years. The same monster who held him from his family, the same monster who.........
Roman: What?! Say it!
At that moment the door opens, and a man walks in. He says to Roman and Sami........
Maxwell Brady: She won’t say it, Dad. She doesn’t have the guts.
Roman and Sami just look at each other, and Sami then turns around. She smiles at her brother.........right before slapping him hard across his face. She storms out as he holds his chin, saying to Roman......
Maxwell: She still has that temper.
Roman sighs deeply and welcomes his son home, and as they both walk into the main living room.......
Sami runs out to her car. She gets in and starts it up.........as Eric sits up in the backseat. He startles her, and she reaches back and starts slapping him, telling him about scaring her. He says he’s sorry, and sits up all he way, telling her to drive. She looks at him with fear, and he tells her........
Eric: Yeah, it’s huge..........now get out of here.
She puts her car in reverse, backs down the long driveway, puts her car in drive, and floors it towards her Aunt Kate’s home. As the two lovers drive through the night.......
Bo sits down in Forrest’s Oval Office, as Jack walks in as well. As they sit, Bo offers his condolences for Lawrence’s death. Forrest thanks him, and says that’s one of the reason why he’s there. Bo doesn’t quite understand, and Forrest tells him that a plan has been put in place to take out the person responsible for his brother’s death. Bo looks at Jack, who shakes his head in agreement. Bo wonders what he has to do with it, and that is when a man, the Director of the C.I.A. walks in and tells him........
C.I.A. Director Ernesto Toscano: Everything, son. Let us know right now. Are you with us.........
Or against us?
Bo looks around the room and looks back at this man, as the scene freeze frames........
And slowly fades to black.

ATWT: Will and Gwen Fan Fic
Latest entry by WillenFan21,
This Chapter was written by Ashley. The next one is written by me.

Chapter 2
Gwen sat in the small room half listening to the doctor half-day dreaming.
Gwen wished she could be thinking of happy times…but those were few and far between; so instead her mind shifted to that day…the day she wished for the pain to stop once and for all.
She didn’t plan on it…it wasn’t something on her to do list, it wasn’t as if she had it printed in her day planner: At 8:07 tonight I will slit my wrists.
Gwen sat at her dinner table watching her mother and step father of the month picking through their dinner.
“For heaven sakes Gwen this chicken is disgusting…is it too much too ask for you to actually do something useful in the house!” Iris Dumbrowski snarled as she threw her chicken at Gwen face drunkenly
Gwen just sat there and took it as tears swelled in her eyes…but she wouldn’t cry not in front of them not ever…instead she starred blankly ahead not even wiping off the grease from the chicken off her face.
Both Iris and the boyfriend laughed drunkenly.
“Oh Gwen your such a waste of skin and space,” the boyfriend laughed and then he noticed her not paying attention to them and stopped laughing…instead his face went cold…
“Are you seriously ignoring us!” he stated angrily dropping his fork and yanking her by the hair off the chair
Gwen screeched in pain as he dragged her across the room and smacked her head against the wall, “when we talk to you…you listen you got that…you’re a useless piece of #$@! You know that!” He yelled pulling her bloody face to meet his while still pulling on her hair
“Gwen…
“Gwen,” called the doctor bringing her out of her past for a quick moment, “Where did you go just now? What’s on your mind?” he tried to pry
Gwen shrugged, “no where…or at least nowhere that important,” she replied under her breath as she looked down to the ground slightly and then back up to her doctor,
“Are we done?” She asked quickly wanting this “appointment” to be over
“Almost, have you been taking your medication regularly…Gwen I want to remind how important both these sessions and medication one without the other won’t help you suffer from a mental illness and it won’t go away maybe ever, but with the proper treatment….” The doctor stressed
“Yeah I get it and got it, I m heavily medicated trust me, so can I go?” she urged gesturing to the door to leave the room
“Yeah you can go…tomorrow same time Gwen,” he stated as she was already out the door
Gwen walked down the hall slowly looking around the empty hall; she hated it here but hated home even more…
“Gwen we are going out, and I want this place clean when I get back or well…you’ll see,” the boyfriend threatened looking down at Gwen on the floor as he was getting ready to leave
As they walked out the door Gwen slowly got up from the floor and looked around the room…the place was a mess chairs were broken from the fight and food was splattered everywhere. She walked quickly to the table and wiped the blood from her lip as she started picking up plates.
As she picked up the broken glass it hit her, would it really matter to anyone if tomorrow the world woke up and she wasn’t there…she had been living this hell for the past fourteen going on fifteen years. Gwen had lived through the beatings and sexually harassing gestures from her mothers selection of men; she had lived through the ridicule and torment…so was she strong enough or willing enough to go another round. The answer was simple but it was also deadly.
Gwen slowly got up from the floor holding a piece of broken glass and almost robotically made her way pulled up her sleeve…
As Gwen thought again about that night something or someone stopped her min memory. It was one of the boys she saw in the cafeteria earlier that day, she remembered he was the one who made her feel uncomfortable and unwanted but she also remembered how cute he was. She thought that she must look like a real idiot stopped in the middle of the hallway obviously starring at this boy sitting against the wall reading. His legs were stretched out and he was very much focused on the material in which he read silently from.
“Can I help you?” he asked suddenly not looking up from the book
The question made Gwen jumps a bit as she looked around hoping that even in a knowingly empty hallway he was talking to someone else.
When Gwen didn’t answer right away will looked up at her and realized it was the cute girl from the cafeteria. He looked at her oddly waiting for her to answer.
“Sorry…I just…I didn’t see anyone else here and you…why aren’t you reading in your room?” She asked trying to change the subject and put the spotlight on him this time.
Will shrugged, “You sit in that room all day you may go crazy…or crazier so I needed a different sense of scenery a quiet one,” he replied going back to his book
Gwen nodded, “Oh…I don’t think you’re allowed too…” she continued as will looked back up her giving her the look that dared her to finish that sentence.
“Can I sit with you?” she asked walking a bit towards him
“I don’t do people skills and I don’t friendships so if your looking for that you came to the wrong inmate,” Will replied coldly not looking up from his book or looking at her in anyway
Gwen nodded sadly and turned to leave.
“By the way we’re having beef tonight for dinner I would stick to just the potatoes though they don’t screw those up that bad,” he said still not looking up from his book but at the same time stopping Gwen in her steps.
She turned around slightly, “ok,” she replied not really knowing what to make of that advice especially from him.
When she noticed he wasn’t going to say anything further she continued down the hall to her room.
When he was sure she was out eyeshot Will looked back up to watch her walk away in a way knowing that wasn’t going to be the last encounter with, “Gwen,” he whispered approving of the sound of her name; he smiled a little and went back to reading his book.

The first one!! It's my take on the whole baby/alison saga I hope you like!!
It's just a taste of the story to see how you like!!
Straight Out From Underneath
PART 1
“So, I m going to be late tonight I have a meeting with the manager about my hours at the book store and then I m meeting Paul at his place for coffee,” Will announced as he hurriedly swung his coat on and searched the coffee table for his keys
“Oh ok…” Gwen said softly as she stood in the doorway of the couples bedroom
Will glanced over to her and quickly went back to grabbing his keys and textbooks.
“Do you want to meet for lunch? Or you could come home and I can make something?” she asked timidly playing with her fingers.
Will looked back at her this time his fixated on her small feature and now round belly, he noticed how easy her hand rested on top of it as if it belonged there. He jerked himself away and looked down at his textbooks, “actually, I think I m going to do some studying I have that exam coming up and everything…but I…ummm…I will call you k,” he replied nervously searching for words
Gwen nodded sadly, he didn’t look at her the way he used to. Ever since the doctor said that one small but amazingly powerful sentence, “congratulations, Mr and Mrs Munson it looks like the procedure worked,” nothing had been the same. The so-called happy news had drove Will away more and more. First it was small not holding her hand while walking then it grew. It was like Will was ashamed of her and the baby…like it was a chore to love her.
“Ummm…oh I m going to be late…I will talk to you later,” he finished hurriedly as he ran out the door.
As soon as he closed the door he stood there and sighed, the truth was he wasn’t supposed to be at work for another 3 hours and he knew she knew that. It wasn’t that he didn’t love his wife that couldn’t be more further from the truth…the truth was he loved her too much and seeing her bond with a baby that they both know isn’t hers was something he was never really ready to witness let alone be apart of. With that last thought he headed for the coffee shop where he would spend the 3 spare hours he had in the morning, which coincidently used to be the best part of his day with Gwen.
~~
When Gwen was sure he wasn’t coming back in to pick something up that he forgot she slumped to the couch and broke down in sobs. Gwen cried for and over Will, she cried for her baby who would be burdened with a father that was never around, she cried for herself, she felt deeply alone and guilty for letting Will down. She loved her baby at first she thought having a child would make her and Will a stronger couple but ever since they found out that she was pregnant…she felt as if the pregnancy itself was more of a burdern for their relationship then actual joy…at that moment tears enveloped her and she laid on the couch and poured her out.
Just then there was a knock on the door.
She sat up slowly and wiped the tears from her tired eyes.
She walked towards the door and opened it slowly, “Oh great it’s you,” she sighed heavily leaving the door open and walking away from it.
“Can I come in?” Cole unsure if that was her way of inviting him in or not
“Well, I m not kicking you out am I? Or at least I m not until I hear why you are here,” she said as she began to fold the blankets from off the couch where Will had been sleeping. At first he said it was so that she would be more comfortable, but that was a lie he was disturbed by the fact she was pregnant with his and Alison’s baby it made him uncomfortable…he didn’t even mention that she was pregnant to anyone he knew…he hated that she was and even more she knew he hated her for going through with it.
“So, who’s taking up your couch these days?” Cole asked noticing the pillows and tossed blankets.
“If that was your way of inviting yourself to stay with us it was weak and very useless because I want nothing to do with you,” she stated angrily ignoring the question
“Then why did you let me in?” he asked crossing his arms on his chest and starring straight on her
“You’re right…it was a mistake a trip up won’t happen again so you can leave the same way you arrived,” she snarled back throwing the newly folded blankets on the couch.
“Ok, fine guess you really don’t want to know what Sophie and I have decided to do about the baby…who by the way is your niece or nephew,” Cole shrugged turning to leave
“Wait!” Gwen stopped him and Cole gave a smirk before he turned back around to face her
“What are you going to do about the baby?” Gwen asked softly
“We’re giving it up,” Cole answered as if it were giving ice cream or a favourite toy
“Giving it up? Why would Sophie ever agree to that? She is not as pathetic and self centred as you are,” Gwen stated not understanding what would make her jump to that answer
“Well, let’s say it took some persuading but eventually she hit the right answer,” Cole chuckled
“You sick bast*** what did you do to her…I m calling the cops,” Gwen said as she rushed to the phone. Cole followed quickly behind her and tore the phone away from her and slammed it back down, “You know I may be persuading to go in a different approach…” Cole stated with a smirk moving away from the phone and Gwen.
She looked over at him nervously, “What is that supposed to mean?” she asked curiously
“Well, you want a baby, I want money and it just so happens you have money to spare I have a baby to spare…the math is so very easy,” Cole smirked playing with stuff on the coffee table
Gwen grabbed the stuff away from him, “you would be so sick as to sell your own child…Get OUT!” Gwen yelled she couldn’t look at him anymore the sight made her ill.
“As you wish,” he stated turning on his wheels and walking smugly out the door.
When he was gone she rushed to the phone and dialled quickly, “hey, listen we need to talk meet me at Java in a half an hour…Cole was just here,” she stated nervously as she looked back to the still open door.
~~
Will flipped through the pages of his textbook, he wasn’t really absorbing any of the information that filled those pages he was merely just passing time. Will sighed heavily as he looked up from the book and looked around the small café. As he was paying attention to some of the customers a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts,
“Well if it isn’t my partner in crime,” she giggled
Will looked over to her and nodded, “hey Ali,” he sighed acknowledging her
Alison caught the hesitant tone and became nervous, “sorry that partner in crime was just you know a joke…I guess it was a little off putting, sorry…I will…I m going to go,” she stated about to leave
“No. Alison it’s fine…sorry, have a seat really…my mind was just busy to say the least…ummm…sit, please,” Will stated stopping Alison in her tracks
Alison smiled timidly and took him up on his offer as she slid into the chair across from him.
~~
Gwen paced her living room frantically pushing buttons on her phone, “come on Sophie! Why is it that everyone and their mother has a cell phone in this town but no one leaves them turned on…especially when it’s an emergency! AND THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!” Gwen yelled into the phone then slammed it down in furry on the table
She looked at her watch and noticed it was getting close to the time she was supposed to be at Java, “Ok…maybe he will know what to do,” she said to herself hurriedly as she grabbed her purse and headed out the door.
~~
“Well I deffinently like this one it has a certain ring to it,” Alison laughed as she pointed out a name on her list to Will
“Ya…I don’t know,” Will laughed
“Wow! I haven’t seen a smile on your face like that since before we did this,” Alison replied
Will nodded, “Ya well…just trying to wrap my head around it all… you know,”
Alison nodded; it was six months ago that she had agreed to be the egg donor for Will and Gwen. She knew Gwen wanted a baby more then anything in the world and Will being a father just seemed right so…that’s what she wanted to make happen. However, since Gwen’s due date was drawing nearer Alison had been feeling like she was loosing something a part of herself in that baby was going to Gwen and in a really harsh way it was making her jealous to say the least.
“So how are you doing with all of this?” Will asked turning the focus back on Alison
“Ok…maybe; I don’t know…kind of weird to know that in a little less then 4 months there is going to be a mini me walking around…you know look like me and let’s hope it doesn’t act like me because that…you will have your hands full if that’s the case,” Alison laughed
Will smiled, “ya well…can we not talk about the baby for like two minutes let’s talk about something else like sports or weather,” Will stated not wanting to think about the baby and all the deep rooted emotions he was feeling about it
Alison sensed the tone, “Ok…what about those…who am I kidding I m horrible at any clever sports phrase,” she laughed
“Well you and Gwen share that talent,” Will agreed with a laugh
~~
Gwen looked at her cell phone as she was about to enter Java she looked up and tried to see if she could spot her guest when she noticed to young people laughing and looking comfortable together. As Gwen studied the two, who were deep in conversation, she realized it was Will and Alison and her stomach flopped and then dropped as she saw Alison place a hand on his every so slightly…like it was nothing.
Tears welled in her eyes but she choked them back and walked up to their table not too sure what she would say when she got there.
Will and Alison were so enthralled in their conversation that they didn’t notice Gwen there at first until Alison felt someone starring down at her and looked up.
“Gwen! Hey, how are you feeling?” Alison asked with a huge smile
“Hard to say,” Gwen answered softly as she looked over at Will who met her gaze
Gwen cleared her throat, “So, umm…what are you guys talking about?” she asked looking between the two trying to catch on to what was really going on between her husband and Alison Stewart.
Alison and Will were both standing up beside her one on each side.
“Well, I was just showing Will my list of baby names and I also wrote down a list of all the things that I will need to get before the baby gets here,” she stated excitedly
“I m sure I can manage all of that Alison, thank-you,” Gwen stated in a less then amused tone
Alison caught the coldness and nodded, “right…well I will see you both later I better go before I m late for work,” she said as she turned on her heel and left the couple there in awkwardness
“I thought you had to get to work?” Gwen asked not looking towards Will
Will sighed annoyed at her suspicious tone, “You know you started this ok…both Alison and I are just trying to make the best out of a very awkward situation you threw us into but your happy though it’s what you wanted,”
“Wow, I didn’t know I had such great power that I could make two people do anything I wanted…it was Alison’s offer to give US a baby and you agreed,” Gwen stated just as frustrated with Will as he was with her
“No. I just made you happy,” Will stated as he grabbed his books and left Gwen standing in the middle of Java
She turned and slouched in the now vacant chair and cried, ‘what had happened to her marriage.’
As Will rushed out of Java he stopped and turned back to look at Gwen heartbroken and crying…he was about to go back in, he wanted to…to go in and tell her everything was going to be alright and that he would be fine after the baby had been born but all of this was just too much…they were loosing each other and he didn’t know what to do to get them back.
~~
Gwen tapped her nails on the table as she waited for her guest to arrive, she looked around and back down at her watch when she spotted him walking in.
Tom walked up to Gwen and smiled, “It was interesting hearing from you this morning…I guess Cole is creating more problems again huh,” he replied as he sat down in the open seat across from Gwen.
“How are you? You look good,” he stated making small talk
“Ya…I m fine, listen the reason I asked you hear was because I need to know…if I wanted too could I get custody of Sophie’s baby if she puts it up for adoption?” Gwen rushed out
After her intense meeting with Cole it became clear to Gwen that Sophie would do anything Cole wanted her to do even abandon their child if he told her too. Gwen also knew how much of a sick relationship the two had, Cole knowingly beat her up and Sophie just let him their was no way she was going to let a baby be brought up in such a mess.
“Well, Gwen is Sophie even planning on putting her baby up for adoption?” Tom asked trying to figure out Gwen’s standpoint on what was going on with Sophie and her brother.
“If my brother has his way she will and if she doesn’t…Sophie will get hurt but, she hasn’t listened to me and she won’t listen to Aaron…the point is, is that I cannot, knowing who my brother is, allow him to raise a baby even if the baby has Sophie. Furthermore, Sophie has made in abundantly clear were her loyalty lies and it has nothing to do with what is best for the baby,” Gwen stated seriously
Tom nodded his hand, “Do you have proof that Cole is violent towards Sophie?” he asked seeing where Gwen was going with this
“Yes, I do Aaron Snyder and probably countless other people in this town have seen it too and the bruises she wears they practically speak for themselves,” Gwen replied
“Well…the only way you could ever get custody Gwen unfortunately is if they put the baby up for adoption and you apply to adopt the baby or…” Tom continued
“Or…what?” Gwen urged
“Well, if something were to happen to either Sophie or Cole and the other was not capable, let’s say, to raise the child the baby would be put up for adoption if there was no family to step up and care for the child…of course there would be court proceedings and custody trial but that would be the only other way,” Tom explained
Gwen nodded sadly, the news some dashing her hopes.
“Gwen can I ask you something?” Tom stated curiously
“Ya,” Gwen replied
“You are already having a child, why are you so attached on saving another one?” Tom asked softly
“Because…I guess I connect with what this child’s life would be like. I know what it feels like to be emotionally and physically abused by a family member and having the only other person in it with you act like nothing’s wrong and push all the abuse to the side. I just…does that make sense?” she answered a tear falling from her cheek
Tom nodded, “ya, absolutely…but focus on what you have on your plate right now a baby on the way, a husband, school…try not to rush in and save too many more innocence at once it might hurt more then help, you know,” Tom commented as he stood up
“I got to go I have a date with a judge about a client but, if you ever need anymore legal advice…you know where to find me,” Tom stated as he left the table
Gwen grabbed her purse and headed out only to bump into someone just outside the entrance of Java.
“Oh sorry,” she mumbled not recognizing whom she bumped into
“No it was my fault,” the other stated
Gwen looked up at the familiar voice, “Sophie?”
“Hey…Gwen” Sophie stuttered trying to think of a way out of this situation
“Where have you been…I have been calling all morning but your cell phone was off,” Gwen stated worriedly
“Ya…umm…I turned it off I wasn’t in the mood for interruptions today, but I m fine thanks,” she stated about to walk around Gwen
Gwen stepped over and stopped her from getting away, “Sophie, my brother stopped by this morning he made it sound like you two had come to a decision about the baby…but he also made it sound like he forced you into that decision as well…are you really ok with giving the baby up for adoption?” she asked searching Sophie’s face for an answer.

PART 2
Sophie starred at Gwen he eyes searching for the right answer and then it hit her, why does she care so much, “You know Gwen whether or not I give MY baby up for adoption has nothing to do with you it’s between me and Cole. Besides your having a baby so I don’t get the need to butt into this child’s life maybe you should be focusing more on your own little family and less on mine,” Sophie stated angrily as she turned and walked into Java.
Gwen watched her leave and sighed heavily knowing that Sophie was right, she was using Cole and Sophie’s problems as a way to distract her from what was going on at her own home. Gwen looked around the entrance and left quickly knowing that trying to start up another conversation with Sophie wouldn’t make her want to tell Gwen what she planned on doing with her niece or nephew more, so Gwen decided to let it rest at least for the day anyway.
~~
It was know close to ten at night and Will sat slumped on the couch, he had been home for close to an hour and still hadn’t seen Gwen. He rubbed his eyes tiredly as he looked around the living room his eyes stopped on the crib that Carly and Gwen had set up just the other day. It was supposed to be the crib for their daughter, at the thought his daughter Will looked away fast. Will quickly stood up and gave a heavy sigh, he walked over to the phone and picked it up, he was about to dial Gwen’s cell but quickly decided against it. He didn’t know how to face her anymore, he looked at her and all he saw was a baby that wasn’t hers but instead a way of covering her feelings about the child that was. He knew Gwen was hurt and depressed but, what she ignored and neglected to take into consideration was he was too and this baby she was having he knew it would only cause more hurt and sadness then joy and that wasn’t fair to Gwen, himself or the innocent baby…but the fact of the matter was the baby was coming and he didn’t think Gwen and his relationship could survive that.
~~
An hour later
Gwen walked into her house and looked around hoping to see Will, he wasn’t there and she nodded softly knowing that even if he was the dead silence that crept through the house walls lately would make it feel like he just…wasn’t.
She shut the door slowly and turned around, it was then she saw Will standing in the doorway of their bedroom with his arms crossed.
“Where the hell were you?” his words slurred
Gwen looked up to Will and studied his angered face. She didn’t answer him just shrugged and took off her coat and placed on the chair not looking back at him not once.
“Gwen it is eleven o’clock” he said walking close to her so that she had no other choice but to look at him “…and I know your in this whole don’t need my husband thing but the fact is I am and…you know what nevermind you’ll do what you want anyway you always do,” he said moving around her and rubbing his face
Gwen just stood there, “What does that mean?” she asked softly
Will was getting angrier, “Are you serious? Look in the mirror and then ask me that again!” he yelled his eyes wide not just of rage but with sadness and there was also a hint of need, the need for his wife to cry with him over what they had lost. Unfortunately, instead of coming together their grief took them into different places. One went looking for a way to cover the scar and her guilt the other went looking…for her.
“If you didn’t want this child why did you go through with it! You had the option of stopping it but you didn’t you lied to me, you said it would be ok and it would help us…” she yelled back tears streaming from her eyes
“BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT YOU WANTED TO HEAR, Gwen you were sick after the miscarriage I saw it, everyone saw it and you know what you are still sick using a child that is someone else’s to cover your pain is sick and all I did was try to steer you in the right direction because I couldn’t push you to not do it that might make you crack my brother said…but did you even once in that entire time did you ever think of what I was going through!” he hissed quickly chocking on some of his words
Gwen stood there and wiped the tears from her eyes, “Of course I did, that’s why I wanted to get pregnant because I knew…I knew it was my fault we lost her and I thought in I guess my sick way that if I gave you another baby then maybe you wouldn’t leave when you realized I m not good enough for you…I mean I thought you would still love me then. I lost a baby and all I could think about was how to make it alright again because I had to, I had to make it ok,” she cried turning on her heel and practically running to the bedroom
Will just watched her leave as tears welled up in his eyes, “It was never your fault sweetie,” he whispered as he rubbed the tears from his eyes. He walked over to the table were a couple of blankets and a pillow laid he picked them up slowly and threw them on the couch. He turned slowly towards the door and just starred at her falling apart on the bed, he wanted to go to her but he couldn’t what good would it do, the words had been spoken and know they were just left utterly broken.

Josh rolled over in bed and could feel an intense headache forming. “Hell…” he swore under his breath as his feet hit the floor. He rubbed his eyes and tried to recall the previous night…a fight with Shayne, drinking and then Cassie was the last memory he had. He reached for his phone on the nightstand and came back with a note from Cassie.
“Reva never came home last night. Left around 7:00, thanks for last night. It’s what I needed – Cassie.”
Josh crumbled the note up and tossed it into the trashcan beside the nightstand. He picked up his cell phone and saw “13 Missed Calls” from an assortment of people: Reva, Billy, Marah…he turned his phone off, tossed it back on the bed, ignored the countless voice mails and headed to the shower, determined to rid himself of this hangover before Reva returned from where ever she had been all night long.

And Now..."The Guiding Light"<HR>
Marah and Danny appeared from the ICU hallway to see Reva on her cell phone, leaving Josh yet another message. “Hey, any change?”
Marah shook her head, “No. He’s just lying there, so still and almost life…” she stopped herself and composed. “Lillian said that they’re going to do a shift change and that should take them about two hours.”
“Two hours?” Reva gasped. “Well what are we supposed to do just sit here and wait? No, I want to go see Shayne.”

“Reva,” Lillian approached, “this is typical. We do shift changes twice a day and during that time family isn’t allowed in the ICU, I’m sorry.”
“But you’ll be here the entire time, right?” Marah questioned.
“Of course,” she answered. “Listen, Buzz called this morning and he wants to offer you guys a room at the boarding house, free of charge.”
“No,” Reva shook her head. “No I want to be here if anything happens, right here.”
“Mom be reasonable,” Marah spoke. “Company is right across the street if anything happens we’ll be close and we have to keep our strength up for Shayne.”
“She’s right Reva.”
She shook her head, “All right. Danny would you take us back to the house I need to get a few things, some clothes and insurance information?”

Danny shook his head. “And Lillian you have our cell phone numbers right?” Reva gestured amongst her, Marah and Danny. “If anything changes, anything…you’ll call?” She gathered up her coat and purse, “Okay, let’s go…I’ve got to find your father.”
<HR>
“How are my favorite girls?” Bill asked as he entered the Bauer kitchen.
“Hey! I’m not a girl,” was the reply Robbie hollered back at him.
“Squirt…” Bill gave him a high five, “I know you’re not a girl, you’re my favorite little man.” Robbie laughed and went back to eating his apples. “Where’s your Mom?”

“His mom is right here,” Michelle came down the stairs with Grace in her arms. “Do you want to go see daddy? Huh?” She handed him the baby and finished packing Robbie’s lunch box. “Sweetheart, Mrs. Thompson is here to pick you up,” she handed him his lunch, kissed his forehead and sent him out the door.
“Bye Bill,” he called from halfway down the sidewalk.
“Can you believe how big he’s getting? Or how big she’s getting? Huh?” Bill questioned.
“They’re growing fast,” Michelle noted. “How are you doing this morning? Holding up okay? I know that today’s your day with Grace but I just figured you wouldn’t be here until later.”
He put Grace in her high chair and gave Michelle a look, “I must be missing something. Why would I give up a day with my daughter?”
“Um…Shayne’s accident. I just figured that you would have wanted to be with your family today, that’s all.”
“What accident?”
“You don’t know about Shayne’s accident? Last night at the Beacon? Bill, how can you not know what is going on? It was in the Mirror this morning. Hope even saw it online in Chicago.”
“I really have no idea what you’re talking about Michelle,” Bill told her.
“You need to go to Cedars, right now,” she told him. “Rick and Mel spent the entire night there working on Shayne. He was attacked at the Beacon, he has severe internal injuries, head trauma and he’s in a coma. Did your father not call you?”
“My phone broke yesterday, I just got a new one.” He grabbed his jacket from one of the empty chairs, “We can reschedule?”
“Of course,” Michelle answered. “Listen if there is anything Reva or Josh…” she paused, “or you need, please call me.”

“I will,” Bill told her and then stopped in before rushing out the door. “Can I do something that I’ve been wanting to do for months?”
“What...” Michelle asked and before Bill could answer, she found herself engaged in a passionate kiss with the father of her daughter!
<HR>
Cassie entered the farm much the same way she had left it the night Tammy left for Washington D.C., quite and dark.
She tossed her purse on the table and was about to head up the stairs for a shower and then to bed when the lights suddenly came home.
“Decided to finally come home?”

“Oh my God!” Cassie screamed at the top of her lungs, “Tammy Nicole! What are you doing here?”
“You know I think I’m going to reverse the mother-daughter role here for a minute and ask you the questions? Where have you been all night?”
“None of your business,” Cassie answered. “What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be in D.C.”
“I stopped by the Beacon last night and Emily said that she wasn’t sure where you were so I checked your suite and nope, not there. So I called Towers and then Company and no one had seen you in like hours. Then I decided to just come on back here and wait to see if you eventually showed up.”
“For starters, I don’t know why you’re here or why you’re giving me the third degree, but I don’t appreciate it. Why are you not in school?”
“Because when my plane landed in Indianapolis I decided to check my messages and I had like four from Marina and another five from Lizzie. Shayne had some kind of accident last night at the Beacon. I canceled my flight to Washington and headed back home.” Tammy glared at her, “You should probably check your phone, I’m sure…”
“I turned it off…” Cassie rushed over to her purse.

“Don’t bother,” Tammy shot back. “I don’t know what you were doing last night or with who, but you stink. Take a shower and get dressed, we’ll talk more in the car.”
<HR>
Josh wrapped a towel around his waist and walked back into the master suite to find Reva sitting on the bed. “Well, look who decided to finally come home? You enjoy you’re night out?”
Reva sat in silence for a moment, “Did you? Where in the hell have you been Joshua? I tried to call you last night. Billy tried, Marah…”
“Is there a reason you’re checking up on me Reva?” he questioned. “I’m your husband, not your child. I don’t appreciate...”
“What did you just say?” Reva stopped him. “There is a very long list, which is growing at the moment, of things I do not appreciate, Bud. Have you even bothered to notice that I’m still wearing the same damn dress I was wearing at the wedding last night?” she paused. “I’m going to ask you one more time, where were you all night?”

“And I told you that I’m not your child that needs to be checked up on,” Josh replied angrily.
“Don’t…” Reva said softly, almost under her breath as she walked across to the dresser and looked in the mirror at him standing there. “Don’t…do not get some holier than thou attitude with me. And please forgive me if I cannot stomach your self righteous indignation this morning Joshua. I’m a little tired, seeing as I’ve spent the entire God forsaken night at Cedars,” she revealed.
“The hospital what happened? Reva…”
“You tell me Joshua, you tell me where you were when I needed you the most? she paused and raised her voice, “When this family needed you the most Bud!”
“I was having some work issues and decided to go have a beer at Outskirts,” he finally revealed. “I had one to many and I didn’t think it would be a good idea to drive so I got a room at that little run down motel across the street.”
“Finally, an honest answer,” Reva sighed as she began packing an overnight bag. “You know most middle aged men who have a family, a career and responsibilities don’t normally go out and get wasted. I guess I should be grateful you didn’t drive. That’s the silver lining here isn’t it? Tell me, did you at least go alone?”
“So why don’t you tell me what’s going on with you. Why are you here drinking like there is no tomorrow?”
Josh shrugged his shoulders, “It doesn’t matter.”
“It does matter,” Cassie touched his shoulder. “Come on talk to me, I just opened up to you about Tammy, let me help if I can.”
Josh finished off his fifth glass of bourbon and took Cassie’s hand, “I have a better idea. Why don’t you forget about Tammy leaving for at least awhile and I’ll forget about what is bothering me and we’ll…” he stumbled off his barstool, “we’ll have us some fun.”
“Of course I did and I don’t deserve that,” Josh answered. “Are you going to tell me why you spent the entire night at Cedars? Is it Marah?”
Reva gathered her composure before speaking, “No…Shayne.” She finished dressing and allowed the news to hit him as hard as it had hit her twelve hours earlier. “He was attacked last at the Beacon, in the parking garage. Lucy Spaulding found him.”
“Oh my God…Reva…is he…”
“Alive?” she questioned. “Just barely. Rick and Mel worked until about three this morning to stabilize him. He has internal bleeding, severe trauma to his head. The doctors are worried that his brain is either bleeding or swelling…they don’t know which yet.” she shook her head. “He’s in a coma…” she choked back tears as Josh reached for her. “No! No…no…no! You don’t get to sweep in here after the living hell that I have been through last night and make this all better, you don’t get do that…” she yelled! “Do you know how petrified and frightened I was last night? And the answer is no, you don’t because you didn’t go through what I did. I sat there…” she sobbed, “on that sofa and held Lucy Spaudling in my arms and just kept staring at her, covered in Shayne’s blood. Each time that door swung open I just knew, I knew that Rick was going to come and tell me he was gone…” she relived the night in her mind. “I was all alone…I have never needed you as much as I did in that moment…”
“Why didn’t you call Billy?” Josh questioned.
“I didn’t want Billy! He’s not my husband. He’s not Shayne’s father. I love him like a brother, but I wanted you and you weren’t there. Do not even try to make excuses for that Joshua!”
“I’m not Reva. That is the last thing I am trying to do.”
She wiped her face with the back of her hand and attempted to compose herself. “Danny and Marah are downstairs,” Reva grabbed the bag she had packed through the screaming. “Buzz is letting us have a room at Company and…and…” she repeated.
“What?”

“And I want you to sit here for awhile. I want you to worry about Shayne the way I worried about him last night…alone! You sit here and you think about how scared he must have been when he was attacked and then you think about me sitting there in a cold, empty waiting room all night long with the woman who perhaps saved his life and then you think about your daughter pouring out her heart and soul out over a brother she may never see alive again and then after you do that, after you take yourself to hell and back, then you come to the hospital and see your son. But not a moment before…do you understand me? Because I pray to God that you do…” she told him as she stormed out of the room!

Misguiding Light
Episode 1
Monday January 21, 2008
Written By: Dan Gobble
“Look out!” Tony Santos yells as he grabs a suspicious backpack from the floor of the WSPR studio. He lobs the pack down the stairwell where it suddenly explodes.
Chaos ensues as the studio filled with the screams of the crew and studio audience.
“Get the bomb squad in here!” Gus yells into the radio. “Levy, go down in that stairwell to see if anyone was hurt in the blast!”
Josh rushes to Reva’s side to see if she’s okay. “Reva, I think we should forget this idea. The stalker obviously knows what we are up to. It just isn’t safe.”
“What are you saying Joshua? That we should lock ourselves into the house and wait for the stalker to come after us? I’m tired of this. I ‘m tired of living with an armed guard at my door. This is going to end. Today.”
----------------------
And Now "Misguiding Light!"
----------------------
Frank walks out of the production booth and finds Gus and Harley. The bomb squad believe the explosion was from a pipe bomb, he says. Probably homemade.
“Levy went down the stairwell, but there were no injuries,” Gus replies. “We’ve got officers going through the building. If this stalker is still here, he or she couldn’t have gotten too far ahead.”
“Frank, what did the bomb squad say?” Josh asks as he and Reva approach them.
“It was from a homemade pipebomb,” Harley replies.
“Listen Reva, I think we should stop the show. For all we know, the stalker could still be here in the building.”
“Frank, I know you mean well, but I’ve made up my mind. The show must go on. But if you want to get rid of the audience, then fine. I’m staying here.”
“Fine. But if things get hairy again, we’re pulling the plug, okay?” Frank happens to glance at the audience and notices Holly sitting next to Ed, Blake and Ross.
“I thought you said Holly declined the invitation?” Frank asks.
“She did, but she told me that she came to clear her name.”
“I see,” Frank answers and walks over to Holly. “Hey Holly, could I talk to you for a moment?”
Frank asks her why she came to the station when she told Reva she wasn’t coming.
“I came because I’m not going to stand by while everyone flings accusations at me. I would like to clear my name.”
“Well, when you came to clear your name, did you happen to bring any backpacks?”
“What are you trying to say Frank? Do you honestly believe that I would destroy my own studio?”
“I’m not saying anything. Given your history of alcoholism, not to mention abducting my daughter, brothers, and your grandchildren. I’m sure you must have been pretty angry when your board of directors asked you to step down, weren’t you?”
“Holly—don’t answer that,” Ed interrupts.
“Ed. It’s okay,” Holly says. “Yes, I was angry, but I wouldn’t harm my studio, especially with me in it.”
“Maybe. But just in case, I think I’d like you to come down to the station after the show, if you will?”
Frank walks away and tells Harley and Gus that he’s leaving to find Edmund before the show. “Keep an eye on Holly, Harley,” he says. “Make sure she doesn’t leave the building.”
Harley nods. Reva returns and tells her that everything is ready for the show. Gus and Harley strap a wire on Reva. “If we find out anything, you’ll be the first to know. Once we get a call, it will take about a minute for us to trace the call. So keep everyone talking as long as you can.”
“Reva, you’re on in ten,” the director says. She makes her way to the stage as the theme music begins.
“Hello everyone and welcome to a special edition of the Reva Show.”
-------------------
Holly gets up from her seat and sneaks off down the hall. Ed spots her and follows her out to the hallway.
“What are you doing Holly?”
“I—I had to get out of there. Didn’t you hear Frank? Now they think I would be insane enough to bomb the studio, my studio!”
“Obviously, they’re wrong,” Ed smiles. “It makes no sense. Why would you want to go after Reva for?”
“The walls seem to be closing in on me and I can’t get out. I need to get away.”
“Holly, you know that running away will only feed into their suspicions.” Holly nods.
“It’s hard, I know, when friends don’t trust you. But remember, you don’t have to go through it alone.” Ed says as he kisses Holly’s cheek. “Come on, let’s go back in.”
------------------------
Phillip and Olivia return to from Cedars and find Alexandra glued to the television. Phillip asks what she is watching. Alexandra replies, “Reva’s show. Apparently, she has a stalker and is trying to fish him or her out on her show.”
“There goes Reva and Josh in yet another drama,” Olivia says as she rolls her eyes. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they are faking it just to be the center of attention again. It is almost sweeps isn’t it?”
“I certainly wouldn’t put it past her,” Alex adds. “ I don’t think her life is complete without a little melodrama.”
The commercial break ends and Reva appears on the screen. Olivia notices that Josh is sitting next to her and releases a small sigh, which Phillip hears.
“Do you have any… regrets?” Phillip asks.
“Regrets about what? About Josh and me?” Olivia pauses. “No. Frankly, I’m glad to be out of that mess…because despite how far apart emotionally Reva and Josh claim to be, anyone who gets in the way of their connection is already a third wheel. You can’t build a relationship when you are always playing second fiddle to someone else. I guess I learned that the hard way, didn’t I?”
Olivia stares at the television. “Those two deserve each other.” She caresses her stomach and excuses herself to bed.
---------------------------
Harley and Gus remain in the production booth watching the show.
“The show’s almost over and the stalker still hasn’t called in yet,” Harley remarks. “The only calls have been supportive of Reva.”
Suddenly, Harley’s cell phone rings.
“Oh God,” she replies. “Thanks Frank.”
Gus asks her what happened and Harley answers that Frank lost track of Edmund. The two cops glance at the monitors and see Reva on the set.
“Thank you so much Sara. I’m glad you called. Thank you everyone for joining me. I’m sorry that we weren’t able to make contact—Oh, I’ve been told we have one final caller on the line. Who is this?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know Reva?” a distorted voice cracks. “I see my little present hasn’t stopped the show. You thought you got rid of me, didn’t you? But I’ll always be around,” the voice hisses as the show fades to black.

EPISODE 12
"Eight years ago, I worked for this woman here in Port Charles. Her name was Faith Roscoe. I was young, stupid, and out for revenge against my ex and the guy who stole her away from me. Faith knew that and used me to get what she wanted." Zander stopped pacing and looked towards Jack.
"I see." he replied as he suckled on his coffee.
"Anyway, Faith wanted something that Nikolas had. A brand new freighter. She wanted to transport her drug shipments with it and Nikolas wasn't about to give her his permission to use it, even though he owed her millions of dollars. Faith told him she'd take it in trade for the money he owed her. This back and forth went on for a few months, and finally Faith was just sick of Nikolas's stalling. She ordered me to remove Nikolas permanently. I went to Wyndamere fully aware of what I was doing and why I was there. I found Emily and Nikolas in the catacombs that run the full dimensions of the mansion. I followed them to the study and waited for the right time to appear. What happened after that wasn't suppose to happen. I had it all planned out, down the last detail, nothing was to go wrong. But something did go wrong, and I have held the guilt ever since."
Jack listened to his partner re-live that night that had him so shaken.
"Zander, what happened after you appeared to them?"
Zander rubbed his hands over his face and stared coldly at Jack. "I don't really remember what Nikolas was shouting at me, it was really all a blur till I heard the shot. She wasn't suppose to get hurt, Jack!" The tone in Zander's voice changed, from calm and cold to painful and agitated.
Jack got up from the chair and went to him. He stared into Zander's eyes. "What happened?" he said calmly hoping to keep his partner calm enough to tell him the rest.
"She died in my arms, Jack!" Zander broke down and sobbed as his knees buckled and he went to the floor.
"You shot her? You're ex?" Jack went to comfort him and went down on his knees to the floor.
"She was so vibrant, full of life, Jack. I took that all away that night. My stupid mistake took her life!" Zander sobbed uncontrollably as Jack wrapped his arms around his friend.
"It's okay, Zander. It was a long time ago, you've changed your life for the better now."
Zander looked up at Jack and wiped the tears from his face. "I shot her Jack and I can't take that back! God I wish I could, but I can't! I have tried so hard to forget but it's been nearly impossible."
Jack helped Zander to his feet. "First thing you have to do is forgive yourself, Zander. You can't keep this inside of you, it's going to destroy you from the inside out."
Zander stumbled to the bed and sat down. "Don't you think I know that, Jack! I do! I just don't know what to do anymore, it's eating at me for the past 8 years. I just can't shake it!" Jack didn't know how to help him, he sat and listened to Zander, hoping it would be enough.
"Tell me about her Zander. What was she like? I assume you love her still, tell me about your life together." Jack didn't know if would help but remember her in life might help him move past not having her in his life now.
Jack noticed the empty bottle sitting on the nightstand. He got up from the chair and went to throw it away. "Is this how to solve the problem, Zander?"
Zander looked at the bottle in Jack's hand. "It's the only way I know how, Jack."
Jack threw the empty bottle of Jack Daniels in the small waste paper basket and continued to question Zander like he was a suspect.
""It's been 8 years, Jack. I was heavily into the mob at that time, working for Faith who had connections with Lorenzo Alcazar, a known International criminal ... Jack all this disappeared in a matter of hours. There was no proof of anything. Emily was dead. End of story." Zander was getting annoyed with all of Jack's questions about that night. He just simply wanted to forget that night, he didn't want to re-live it over and over again. So what happened afterwards? I mean, what happened to Nikolas?" "Nikolas?" Zander looked up at Jack who genuinely seemed concerned for him.
"Yeah, Zander. Nikolas. Is he still living here in Port Charles? What happened between the two of you? I mean, you obviously didn't spend any time in jail for this. Care to tell me how you got out of it?"
Zander stood up from the floor and walked towards the bed. He sat down on the edge and held his head in his hands.
"Nikolas just wanted it all to go away. He didn't want the media to have field day with the incident and as far as he was concerned he knew I didn't do it on purpose. He was upset and quite angry with me, but mostly at himself for allowing it to happen, cause he could of stopped it before it happened. He blamed himself for it more so then he did me for pulling the trigger. As far as I know he moved back to Greece shortly after the funeral. I wasn't charged with anything, with Nikolas gone and not willing to press charges or to say what happened in that room that night, there was really nothing that could be done to me or to anyone else."
Jack stepped closer and sat down on the chair, he still had concerns for his partner, this was alot to bear for someone, especially for Zander. "What about her family? No one ever questioned it?"
Zander looked up at Jack. "Sure there were questions, plenty of them. But Nikolas ran and so did I, there was really no one else to ask. Jack, this incident just disappeared. For all who knew about it, well, they are either gone from this world or they have disappeared so no one can find them."
Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Look, I was heavily into the mob at that time, working for Faith who had connections with Lorenzo Alcazar, a known International criminal ... Jack all this disappeared in a matter of hours. There was no proof of anything. Emily was dead. End of story." Zander was getting annoyed with all of Jack's questions about that night. He just simply wanted to forget that night, he didn't want to re-live it over and over again."Okay. end of story." Jack got up off the chair and threw Zander his clothes that laid across the back. "Here, let's go get some breakfast. I think you need it." Zander caught the clothes thrown at him and looked at Jack.
"Sure, as long as we can put your interrogation about that night to rest?" Jack started to walk towards the door and turned to look back at Zander.
"Okay, no more questions. Just get dressed, I'll meet you downstairs in 10 minutes." Jack left Zander alone in the room and closed the door behind him.
Zander fell back on the bed and sighed heavily. He rubbed his hands over vigorously, he couldn't believe this was happening to him. He decided to throw himself into the new case they were working on, maybe taking his mind off of that night would help it go away for good.

Latest entry by Shawn,
Carrie still couldn't believe that she was back in Salem. It seemed like only yesterday that she and Austin had flew to New York to start a new life together. They had been happy there, able to have a fresh start. And then they got the call. Her mother Anna, had phoned her and asked her to come home to reconcile. No, not asked. Begged. At first Carrie adamantly refused. Why should she give another chance to a woman who was only a mother by blood? What good would it do to try the process of forgiving and letting down her guard again if Anna was just going to run away to the richest guy she could find as soon as she was given the chance? Besides, Marlena was the only mother that she knew anymore, and she loved her very much.
No, she wouldn't go.
Only Austin managed to convince her to change her mind. The only one who could see past her stubbornness and make her realize that family is family. Especially on the holidays. So she caved and called Anna to make tentative plans. Swallowing her pride was hard, but she did it. For Austin.
Grabbing her luggage from the carousel, she walked out to a cab and set a course for the past.
"Where you going miss?"
She hopped into the big rig that had kindly pulled over for her and took a deep breath, embracing the warmth of the heater. "Salem. If you don't mind."
"Sure thing. I go through there on my route." He looked at her with lust in his eyes, but she was too preoccupied with her own thoughts to even notice. She thought of her father. And of his wife. Stepmother to her of course, but just thought of calling her "mommy" made her blood boil. She made a tight fist and squeezed so hard that she drew blood.
They rode in silence for some time, when he asked: "You going home for the holidays?"
"Yeah, you could say that."
"I bet your family is gonna be happy to see you."
She laughed. "I'm not so sure. Believe me, if you only knew."
He shrugged. "Well, family comes first on the holidays," he replied. She glanced over at him and saw him looking down her shirt.
"Hey buddy, the road's that way."
He grew flushed and turned back to the highway, riding in silence for a little while longer. "By the way, name's Jake."
"Eve", she announced. "Eve Donovan."
“Kimberly darling, are you ready?”
Shane adjusted his tie in the mirror in the foyer after calling up to his wife. Butterflies took control of his stomach. Why was he so nervous? Its not like he’s never had an anniversary before with Kim. They had many years ago, before they separated.
He closed his eyes and tried to forget that horrible time in his life. The time he chose his work over his family. Losing them was the hardest thing he ever had to endure, and he refused to let it happen again. Kim coming back to town two years ago was by chance, but he knew that he had to jump at it. He never stopped loving her. She was his soul mate.
“Don’t you think the tie is on tight enough?”
Shane turned to see Kim and she took his breath away. Simply stunning in a black cocktail dress. “You..you look..gorgeous.” He suddenly felt like a virgin on prom night, and blushed.
“Well well, looks like my job is done,” she joked, pulling him toward her in a kiss. “Happy Anniversary, Shane”.
“You too, darling. I love you.”
They locked lips again.
En route to Anna and Tony’s penthouse, Carrie passed by the park. Suddenly memories flooded back to her, and her heart in her throat. So much happened here that she would take with her forever. Good and bad.
Mom can wait a little while longer, she decided, and told the cab driver to pull over.
“Wait here for a few minutes will you? I won’t be long.”
“Sure thing, lady.”
The wind was frigid and uninviting. She pulled her coat tighter and made her way down the path. On the way she spied rollerbladers trying to best the speed record and mothers tending to their stroller bound children.
Children.
She smiled. She had Austin had been trying for a while now. No luck yet, but she retained hope.
In the distant, she saw the swingset.
She closed her eyes and Instantly she flashed back to the days of her courtship with Austin. The nights that he pushed her for hours on these very swings before pulling her into his arms. She felt so safe in his arms.
Upon opening her eyes again she saw that she had seated herself on that swing, and was rocking back and forth gently.
Carrie sat there for what seemed like forever. She knew that she was just trying to put off going to see her mother. It had been years. They were practically strangers. That’s why she didn’t understand her mother’s sudden need to be back in her life.
“What are you up to now?” she muttered to her absentee mother. “What scheme do you want to pull me into?”
Sighing, she decided that she had stalled long enough. Time to face the music.
Halfway down the path, her cell phone rang. She looked down to see it was Austin.
Before she could pick up the phone, Carrie collided with someone and fell back to the ground.
Crying out in embarrassment more than pain, she looked up.
That’s when it felt like the world around her ceased to exist.
“Oh my god,” she gasped. “It can’t be.”
Kim and Shane arrived at Tuscany and were greeted by Maggie.
“Happy Anniversary!” she beamed, greeting both of them with a hug. “I have your table all set up with champagne on ice. On the house.”
“Maggie, you shouldn’t have,” Kim insisted.
“Nonsense, I’m glad to do this for you two.” She walked them to their table and gave them menus. “Let me know if you need anything else.”
“Thanks again Maggie.” Shane winked at his wife. “That woman is a gem.”
Kim smiled. “She’s the best. But you know…” she pulled her chair closer to him. “you’re not so bad yourself.”
They exchanged another heartfelt kiss.
Kim pulled back with a smile and as Shane perused the menu, she couldn’t help but gaze at him.
Never in a million years would she have guessed that a reunion between them was possible. Not after their painful breakup years ago.
But things change over time, she reasoned. Fate always brings those meant to be together back again. And she would be damned if she was going to let him go ever again.
“Well my love, if you will excuse me, I’m going to powder my nose.”
“I’ll have champagne poured for you when you return,” he replied.
“Sounds good.”
She was about to open the door to the restroom when she suddenly felt watched. On instinct, she spun around and saw her stepdaughter glaring at her from the corner. “Eve!”
“Hello, mommy. Did you miss me?”
“I uh, of course. How are you?”
Eve laughed. “Small talk? Please. We’re past that. You know why I’m back. I know Kim.”
Flustered, Kim feigned ignorance. “Know what? Honestly Eve, what are you talking about?”
“Don’t play games. I know what you did. And I know that you would do anything to keep my father from finding out.”
“Eve, please…”
“Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some catching up to do with my dear daddy.” With that, Eve pushed past her and into the main dining room. She was just feet away from Shane, and just moments away from destroying Kim.
The fire crackled, causing the sound of splintering wood to echo throughout the room. The screaming winds roared like a banshee outside. They sat in a chair in darkness, the glow of flames reflecting off of their wine glasses. Behind them on the desk, pictures and files layed in disarray.
All of the information needed for all the ones that caused pain to them. Every last detail nailed down. Schedules, addresses, past misdeeds. Even their children’s medical records.
They smiled. The residents of Salem lived their lives like an open book. And that would be their gravest mistake. What they had in store for them would make them regret ever being born.
They finished off the wine and went to the bar for a refill. They passed by a mirror and caught a ghostly image of their own reflection. The scars. Oh god the scars. Caused by their actions. All of them. The Saints of Salem.
A rage filled them. It hardly caught them by surprise anymore. It happened far too many times to count.
It scared them, for it couldn’t be controlled.
“You freak,” they hissed at themselves, throwing the glass at the mirror, shattering the glass with a deafening blow.
“They will pay. Oh yes. They will pay….”

Has the Writer's Strike Affected mySON TV networks?
Written by: Striking Writer
If you've checked out the mySON TV network as of late, you will have noticed the changing landscape of the blog scene. Eight shows have appeared to have halted production since November. Could there be behind the scenes changes on the horizon? Have the showrunners pulled the blog on their soaps? Or have some of the head writers on mySON TV chosen to strike with the guild brethren?
Many mySON TV writers are believed to be members of the Blog Writers Guild Association/Fan Fiction Guild Association (FFGA/BWGA), though many believe it doesn't exist. Some shows, through their respective production companies (SONBC and SONOP) have made deals with the Guild to continue production. Other shows, such as "Port Charles," "Cuffs," and "Genoa City" have yet to do so.
More on this to come.......
