Eurovision Song Contest 2026

After a meeting of the EBU members (the organization behind the contest) today, a new set of rules will be implemented. But the EBU also decided to allow Israel to continue participating, and that has led to Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands and Slovenia announcing that they will boycott the 2026 contest. Iceland and Belgium will decide their future in the near future, and others may follow.

So far, I really only like Denmark and Albania, and Austria and Moldova are at least catchy. The other songs are mediocre at best.

Sweden is great, a Top 5 position is guaranteed. I think the revamped version of Moldova will win the televote, though.

More entries ... I really like Finland's entry. Romaniaโ€™s isnโ€™t bad either โ€“ maybe a bit trashy, but definitely catchy. And the UKโ€™s song is actually decent for once.

Germanyโ€™s entry isnโ€™t bad, but it somehow feels about 20 years too late. Poor Sarah. She can sing and perform, but Iโ€™m afraid weโ€™ll end up in last place again.

Senhit coming back for San Marino (she represented the country in 2011 and 2021) with a song featuring Boy George is so random.

Overall, thereโ€™s just too much pop opera this year. You can really tell that a lot of countries are trying to copy the winners from the past two years.
