Gearing up for the 2024-2025 broadcast television season, CBS announced today that it has renewed comedy “Ghosts” and drama “Fire Country” for a fourth and third season, respectively.

“‘Ghosts’ and ‘Fire Country’ are proven viewer favorites on both broadcast and streaming thanks to exceptional storytelling, talented actors and an ever-growing fan base,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “We are elated to keep the momentum going and bring them back to CBS next season.”

Currently averaging 10.2 million viewers in Live+7 Day multiplatform viewing (combining broadcast and streaming), “Ghosts” is up +2% from last season overall, with streaming viewership up +64% year-over-year. The series ranked as the most-watched comedy on Paramount+ throughout the month of February.

The season three premiere of “Ghosts” was the show’s most-watched episode ever among Live+Same Day viewing figures. “Ghosts” airs Thursdays from 8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT on CBS.

“Fire Country” is averaging 9.21 million viewers in Live+7 Day multiplatform viewing, up +7% from last season. As for streaming viewership, the series has more than doubled, with “Fire Country” rated among the top six series on Paramount+ and ranking as the fourth most-watched drama on the service during the month of February.

Averaging 7.76 million viewers this season in linear viewing (Nielsen, Live+7), “Fire Country” series leads its time period and is a key part of CBS’ dominant Friday night lineup. The show airs Fridays from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT on CBS.

The “Ghosts” and “Fire Country” renewals come at an important time for CBS as the network is saying goodbye to several series this season, including “Young Sheldon,” “S.W.A.T.,” “Bob Hearts Abishola” and prepares to say goodbye to “Blue Bloods,” which is currently airing the first half of its 14th and final season on the network following “Fire Country” on Friday nights. Next season, the network must fill several vacant spots surrounding both shows.
