Members Wales2004
I do like this tribute and how the narcissism was moderated: I like their first go without DR:
Members alphanguy74
Oh, geez.... I just looked in here and found you posted something by my favorite girls! The 70's Supremes were one of the most underrated groups, Jean Terrell, and later, Mary's lead vocals are so amazing. "Up The Ladder To The Roof" actually sold twice as many copies as Diana's first single "Reach Out And Touch Somebody's Hand". Their second album 'New Ways But Love Stays" is just best in every way... really the only concept album the Supremes ever did. That album had some amazing tracks. Members alphanguy74
A few years ago, I discovered the Flirtations, and WOW was I hooked on them!!! They have such a great sound and look, they should have been major major hitmakers. Please register in order to view this content
Members All My Shadows
I've been really obsessing over the supremely underrated Betty Wright lately, and this obsession always comes in waves. Truly one of the greatest female voices of all time, IMO, from her beginnings 45 years ago to her most recent album with The Roots. I grew up hearing Clean Up Woman, Tonight is the Night and After the Pain at family parties and just around the neighborhood, but discovering some of her other songs has really made me a huge fan. I'm just upset that her 70s albums outside of Live! and I Love the Way You Love (one of the best soul albums ever) aren't on iTunes and are so hard to find in vinyl shops. I really really really want the original studio version of Tonight is the Night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZtkVj3JPaw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh-2_kdVcyA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN6bFF4_SMw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r4S4npaT3k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyvn5idWuhE
Members I Am A Swede
Even though I can listen to her all year round, the pure, crystal clear voice of Sissel Kyrkjebø seems made for winter, and especially Christmas time.
