That speech should be in the public domain. I think it's ridiculous that anyone (especially outside of his family) should want to claim rights to his speech.

So I'm taking advantage of this thread to make a comment on ESPN's "Content of Character" clips and others that feature individuals remembering MLK. ESPN's are of sports related figures but all of these clips are generally generic in that people say things that don't seem to be saying much. It's almost as if they are not really sure what MLK actually did and didn't do. The norm is "if it wasn't for him, I would not be here."

I happened to see one in which Derek Jeter said something along those lines. I found it interesting since the same could be said for Jackie Robinson who happened to have broken the baseball color barrier in 1947 and I am certain that Derek Jeter said the same of him. Clearly, a lot of people can make it possible for someone to be here.
