Gay rights pioneer Frank Kameny died Tuesday at age 86:

Regrettably, I know very little about gay history, so I had never before heard of Kameny before today. His story is certainly a fascinating one. It's sad that he didn't get the recognition he deserved until late in his life, since he fought discrimination long before Harvey Milk did.
