General Hospital: July 2010 Sneak Peek

June 28, 2010 6:08 AM By Joe Reid

You may be used to getting fireworks in July -- but this year, they'll be coming from your TV screen, as General Hospital kicks off some seriously explosive summer stories ... none bigger than Franco's return to Port Charles! After a series of messages, omens, and warnings, Dante gets Jason released from prison so the both of them can go after Franco together. There are strings attached: Dante's on the hook for Jason -- which means if Jason decides to run, Dante's career is over. And do those two ever make for an odd couple. When Franco comes out of the woodwork in Port Charles, look for him to come face-to-face with just about everyone. Carly, Maxie, even baby Josslyn. But he remains elusive. Jason and Dante chase him to Los Angeles -- look for some excellent scenes filmed on location in California as Jason and Dante play mice to Franco's cat. Along the way, they'll encounter Franco's mom -- played by James Franco's real-life mom, Betsy -- and Jason and Franco will have one fateful encounter that leaves Jason at a crossroads. What the decision Jason has to make? Well, you'll have to see ...

Sonny's feud with Johnny comes to an explosive climax this month, as history threatens to repeat itself. The car bomb Sonny sets to finish Johnny brings back eerie remembrances of Lily and the way she died. Will Sonny lose someone else he loves to mob violence? And in the aftermath, what do you think Michael will do when he finds out that it was indeed Sonny who set the bomb?

Meanwhile, in the midst of all this violence, Elizabeth has her baby! That's the good news. The bad news is that Franco gets involved.

But Franco's not the only danger lurking in the halls of GH. A dangerously unhinged character -- hint: it's someone we know -- targets General Hospital, with everybody there ... from Carly and Michael to Olivia, from Kristina and Ethan to Maxie and Maya, from Robin and Lucky to ... well, we could go on. What we're trying to say is: EVERYBODY is at the hospital when something really big goes down. And before all is said and done, two people will be fighting for their lives.

Not all drama is violence-based, though. Some of it has its roots in sex! Just watch what happens with Patrick and Lisa. Patrick's already been playing a dangerous game, what with his jealousy towards Lisa and Steve ramping up. With Robin out of the country, is it only a matter of time before Patrick steps over the line? The short answer: Yes. Patrick and Lisa sleep together. And boy howdy, is that a mistake.

Look for Maxie to find herself in a romantic bind as well. Her plan to use Matt to spark some life into Spinelli is a spectacular failure -- this can't be a surprise -- and it leads Spinelli to suspect that they may be over. In the meantime, Maxie finds herself drawn to Matt ... and to Lucky! That's three guys for one girl. Any preferences for who she should choose? (Hit the comments below!)

And Claire Walsh continues to walk a fine line with Sonny. She wants to bust him ... by sleeping with him? And she's got one particular proposal for him you're not going to believe.

All this, PLUS: Jax and Skye go off on a treasure-hunting adventure, and -- bad news, Carly -- they might find more than just cash while they're gone.

And get ready for August, folks....because Brenda is coming back!

What July storyline has you most intrigued?

    • Thanks, interesting and so believable (no Lonatrat or Clones...)Instead of the Lewis family he should have made the Oil family Granger...even if the audience didn't remember that one off character it would have been interesting to tie it into the fictional GL world.
    • Dante needs stick removed from his butt
    • When you bring up what I like to call "Shapiro's Folly" you think Dano's acting choices mattered? I ask because I don't think so. As far as I could tell almost universally the ABC fans hated the very idea of her being on all 4 shows! And, I agreed. If she wanted success she should have planted "Rae" on one & given up her idea of branding, or whatever it was that she was after.
    • Okay, well her reasons were that she had a mandate to reduce the size of the cast & she had another mandate to make the cast overall younger, so her reason for picking Donna to off was because she was too old.  So, is that what you understand? Or are you thinking of something else? Which if so, I would be delighted to hear about it!  She had arbitrarily picked 50 as the age people needed to be younger than.  And, that is why she got rid of both Bridget & Spencer Harrison.  And, getting rid of Bridget was another of her horrible ideas.  Why do you refer to her as the Face of the Show? Don't feel bad. I am a major Cass fan & I don't remember him with Donna either, LOL! Can we say forgettable? And, yes, Lila was the most last minute of last minutes!!!!
    • This is AWESOME, thank you for taking the time to post this! My first thought: My memory is a lot better than I thought it was, LOL! The first episode I clearly remember watching had a scene of Ed confronting Holly about Christina's paternity. He lamented how wonderful things had been over Christmas, so looks like I started watching the show early 1976. The only thing puzzling me is where is Evie? I thought she was around BEFORE Rita got involved with Tim, but maybe that's one gap in my memory. It makes Rita look slightly better--in that case, she didn't seduce Tim knowing her sister had a crush on him.
    • Oh, well.  At least he can cry into his hoodie.
    • Sorry, just realized I'd somehow lost a whole paragraph in that last post.
    • Thanks @Paul Raven  They should have brought Billy back in the early '90s for more drama with Hart and Blake. Maybe Blake would have gotten involved with him to try to ruin him in Roger's eyes, but realize under his sweet nature, Billy was a player himself.
    • Checked. Taggert last date, Wed, 7-19-23, so a long dadgummed time ago.
