I have thought more on this tonight, And I am just wondering how much Kendall's departure has actually affected this story. Did Pratt and gang know that Minshew would be unavailable when they decided to do this story.

Right now without Kendall there it is hard to focus on Bianca's part of this story because the part that needs to be dealt with is between her and Kendall with Zach. That can't even be dealt with until Kendall wakes up.

And I am sure they didn't want to pay Braun & Riegel's salaries just to have them sit around all gushy over one another. Even with a lesbian couple you can't just have them sitting around being all gushy and lovey and dovey and make good soap opera out of it. So to keep it angst filled they had to create some tension until Kendall wakes up.

I am not sure having the slight flirtation with Zach is the route I would have gone. Well in fact I know it wouldn't have been for me. In my online soap I am writing a similar story very very different.

I have a feeling that Pratt didn't know what to do with Zach either and didn't want to just repeat Zach sitting at Kendall's bedside again since that had already been done. So he threw him into this too to keep him busy until the Josh thing and the deception could be dealt with.

It is not the best route. For one thing Pratt needs to learn really quick to leave Zendell alone if he wants to survive. It is sad and that is not a criticism but it is just a truth. And Zendell is not the only couple that is that way - several across the board are that way. I am not sure what they can do with those couples but maybe turn them into tom and Alice Horton and let them be listening ears for everyone else and hang ornaments on the Christmas treee every year. At least they will be together and all the photos will be of them and their family - and no one elses. I just don't see any other options for keeping a couple like them front burner unless you create some angst in the relationship.

Back to the other, I am just not sure if he was privy to the info about Kendall or not when he planned the story initially. I can just see that it could have very much changed the original direction of the story. I wish he had waited and brought them on later after Kendall was awake and let that the meat of their story - but maybe they weren't available then. Who knows?

I am just glad we have Bianca in an adult relationship. It is not perfect in every sense, but it is lots better than what we got between her and Maggie. I am going to reserve full judgement on it until I see more of it play out. Right now I am enjoying both of them and I am actually enjoying Zendell and I have never been able to enjoy them.

I think there was plenty of other potential conflict in this storyline other than Reese becoming attracted to Zach. Bianca has fallen for straight and confused women before and this is just another variation of that. Reese is at least bisexual and given soaps often simpistic treatment of sexuality maybe even straight. That's not interesting conflict to me. It's something Bianca's love stories should have moved on from by now and it makes it impossible for me to enjoy Bianca and Reese. That's not a real love story to me and this seems to be going in a very negative direction. Couples need conflict but but we don't even know if they are a real lesbian couple and that to me is just offensive not fun and soapy.

Yep it sure has. Eden talked about how Bianca would be there for Zach and they would bond, but voila suddenly it's all Reese. So someone tell me that Bianca's storyline wasn't taken from Bianca and given to Reese.........

Well you must not read many boards then, cause I haven't seen many people that like her, and that's from reading just about every soap board there is. People like TB sure, but not Reese.

And no it's NOT one set of fans either as dc cubs post just proved. Most are sick of the "pseudo lesbian" Pratt either needs to piss or get off the pot

The show knew about AM wanting to go on vacation for a honeymoon after her marriage; it was part of her renegotiations, so Pratt and Co had some time to figure out where they were taking this, but it was just thrown together very quickly and not well-thought out.

IMO, my theory is this: Pratt fell in love with Annie/MCE and didn't like Kendall (that was obvious, to me, IMO). I honestly felt that he was either going to break up Zen with Kendall being the heavy (the stupid meddling s/l... Frons wanted Rylee, not Grach), planned to kill her off in the tornado aftermath or make her hateful after the babygate reveal (it may be #3, by now).

What is interesting to me, is that it could very well be a 50/50 split that Kendall was as loved and important to AMC's canvas as she is hated. I don't think that was a factor to Pratt. IMO, I think he read or knew of some people's dislike of the character and didn't really know why- which may be why Kendall reverts to being a harder-edged character (and as much as I loved Zen bringing out her softer side, Kendall should ALWAYS be her own woman and not backing down because of Zach and others... keep the insecurities and strengths, but keep the drive. She should never settle.).

I also think the push to "get the men off the couch" has back-fired, as well. AMC is not a male-focused soap (the way that GH has become), so having Zach and Ryass (and all the other men) front and center is not as appealing as TPTB had thought. Plus pushing couples and characters that have NO spark (Take, Frandi/Randi) instead of capitalizing on the good stuff (Jake/Greenlee, Taylor/Frankie, but they made good on the Taylor/Brot) is killing them. Bianca and Reese has turned into the sweeps/media stunt others predicted instead of a REAL, ground-breaking story. And they are destroying Bianca in the worst ways possible (I am all for her showing her Kane side, but damn!).
