"Just as I was fantasizing about throwing a cherry bomb at ABC headquarters over the misogynistic, disgusting Todd-Marty redux story playing out on One Life to Live, along comes an episode of All My Children which soothed the fires of r age within me. It was the 10,000th episode of AMC, my all-time favorite soap....."

Of course she steals it. The woman is the only soap legend left, and classy to boot. If AMC only had half her heart these days. But it's a shell of its former self, which must kill her. I wish a headwriter could come in and restore AMC to its glory days, so Aggie could really be proud of her "child."

Oh pul--eeze! All My Children is literally one of Agnes kids! And like a child, she loves it whether its bad or good. A very motherly person IRL, she's had the grace and the fortitude throughout her own life to withstand anyone or anything the networks can throw at her. I've been told this by her personally.

I wish everyone would stop adding their snark to what I wrote in my congratulatory column. Let us all celebrate an 81 year old life well-lived and the enjoyment and entertainment Agnes has so superbly brought to us all over the years.

Oy, my heart skips a beat everytime my eye catches the title of this thread, "Aggie Nixon, 81..."

Agnes is lovely. I can't think of a more appropriate word. Her appearances on AMC and OLTL earlier this year were so appreciated by this fan.

Certainly she's been unhappy from time to time with developments on her shows, but as Connie said, like a true mother she will love them through thick and thin. It's not as if her fingerprints, her blueprints really, have been erased. I've been a fan for around 25 years, taking breaks from time to time over the past ten years, but there are still glimpses of her Pine Valley (thanks mostly to the vivid characters she's created that are still on the canvas). Were there nothing redeemable, I'd quit watching altogether.

But that's the thing about AMC, especially for long-term friends. There is something about the show that is so much bigger than any idiotic s/l or regime. When anniversary time comes around, inevitably I am a little kid with a big lump in his throat tearing up watching the "story" he was raised on. That's Agnes.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
