HAHA i honestly LOVE Score--Metzger fascinated me as a late teen--after i caught Score on the Canadian channel Showcase. HAHA I've never seen it mentioned outside on other forums before! But yeah it's fascinating for a sorta type of bisexual film that actually ahd talented actors and a story--and never was repeated (at least not until Shortbus which I think is frankly brilliant--though flawed). It was actually absed on a play--I've always wondered what the play was like. Of course part of the appeal too is its oh so 70s--an era I adore (prob cuz I wasn't born till 1980)

*big blush*--how did this get to talk about porn? :P (And Iw as teasing you--I'm obviously nto a prude when it comes to such films :P )

Was Lyn the older woman witht he dark hair or the younger one? I could see the older one being in a soap for sure.

I find Dante's Cove really disappointing--but I have a personal beef with it (it doesn't help that its' technically a Canadian production even though not filmed here). One of the leads--I believe he's an exec producer too--grew up here on Vancouver Island (I'm trying to be obscure but I'm sure you can guess who that is)--and was actually in a failed boyband attempt and then briefly dated a friend of mine. He was a royal jerk to my friend, to be fair he was still in the closet and trying to build a tv/film career (he briefly hosted an awful Canadian reality show)--but now that he's out he's done huge newspaper pieces about how he was always out, he's a role model, bla bla--really arrogant. And worse of all he's a HORRIBLE actor--I have no clue how he's still one of the stars of the piece. Last time I ran into him he was actuallyback in Victoria writing a gay thrille rhe was also going to star in--I'm sure it'll be good for a laugh. People complain about soap opera actors but I sometimes wonder how him and some others on the show are as *awful* as they are.

(Thea Gill on the other hand also lives in Victoria ever since her much older husband started heading up the UVIC theatre department. He's a difficult, IMHO egotistical man who met her while married and she was one of his students--I find it all questionable, but Thea herslef is almsot exactly as she comes off on screen--a really nice and gracious woman, though not that diverse an actress I think)

God I should just start a Dante's Cove gossip blog:P

Great gossip there.

Oh I guess it turned into a talk about soft core porn from the actor being in the Co Ed show which I have seen a few times. Teh guy is no Laurence Olivier but he is not bad as some soap actors these days. Of course he is not given too much to challenge his acting skills on Co Ed either. LOL but like AB Fab said he looks good naked.

Anyway somehow we ended up talking about soap actors who have done both soft core and hard core porn.

Lynn Lowry was the younger girl in the film and was a relative unknown when she got Score. The older actress, I forget her name right now, was the actual star of the play this was based on and the only star from the play to be cast. She took the role and regretted it later as it is the only feature film she is remembered for and said she would have never done it if that had been the case. Also she was an established New York actress with many credits to her name and during filming she learned that Lynn Lowry was making 3 times more than her.

Lowry said filming on the set was very tense after that.

I never have read a direct quote from Lowry but I think from reading between the lines of some of her interviews that she felt her career would have been bigger after that but it wasn't. By the next year she had won the 16 month role on How To Survive a Marriage, but after that didn't get anything in TV that lasted long or even any other big movies.

She and one other performer from the movie are the only 2 living today. The 2 male leads both died of complications from AIDS in the 80's.

It was Hot Line that he was in. It was the 3rd episode of Season 3. He played Jake. Catherine Bell currently on Army Wives played the housewife I think. Also in that episode was Lesley Woods who was Grandma Logan on B&B as well as many other soaps.

Bailey Chase was billed as Bailey Luetgert (his real name) back then.

I have looked and looked for clips or pics of him from that eppy, but never been able to find them.

Bailey was also one of the many young soap actors who appeared almost nude on Undressed. He played Steve in Season 1. SoapHunks.net is usually pretty good about pulling the near nudes from Undressed but they don't have his.

    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)
    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive On page 48 there's an interview with Lee Rich about Lorimar's fortunes.
    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive From a May 1980 Broadcasting issue: Meredith Broadcasting in association with Alan Sloan Inc has committed itself to produce series of five half hours in soap opera form, "designed for youngers 11-14 and their parents." Programs, yet untitled, "will deal with problems teen-agers face in their relationships with peers and parents," with script topics reviewed in advance by teachers, psychologists and others. First episode is to air on Meredith's five TV's in September and ground broadcaster also anticipates syndication. If successful, idea is to go to full-fledged series.
    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Looking at an old Broadcast issue with a fall schedule preview. Their description of the show: Lorimar Productions turns its cameras "below the surface of a small, traditional, thriving college town still large controlled by its founders, the Millingtons." Plot elements include "nurtured dreams, closely-held desires, closeted shame and vital truths about friends and family." Lee Rich, Michael Filerman and David Jacobs are executive producers of the Roundelay production, in association with Lorimar.  They also mention the show in a small section about advertising's point of view.  Advertising agency reaction to the new fall line-ups announced by ABC and CBS last week varied. But upfront, some agency types were apprehensive that their advertisers might be turned off by some of the new "titillating" entries. "I'm concerned about the amount of permissiveness," said one executive, with CBS' Secrets of Midland Heights commonly mentioned as one possible offender.
    • I just saw this. Thanks for sharing. The classic Y&R thread may enjoy your posts. It was in very poor taste for Andy Cohen to blindside MTS with that type of question, but I'm not surprised as he's an awful person.
    • The way Kat was acting today, it only enhances Silk Press Sheila's stalking accusations.   She certainly takes after her Aunt Dani. It took about 70 episodes, but the show seems to have finally understood that Ashley/Derek have to interact with the rest of the canvas in order to get viewers to care about them... or at least understand what their purpose for being on the show. Leslie vs Kat is a wonderful pairing.... and Leslie/Tomas was comically.   Dani's delusion that she's still Bill's wife.... no comment. I really hope that Eva doesn't turn out to be Nicole's child.. because I find the fall out from the anniversary party to be pretty good and there's more possibilities having Eva not being Nicole's child then being her child..imho.
    • It was a real-life instance; I remember he had IG stories about the injury.
