April 19, 200817 yr Member Great article about the viewerships and ratings among the daytime soaps: Media Life Comment away on your thoughts!!!!!!!! Am I reading this right? Gains of 10,000 - 20,000 in a tiny niche demographic are being heralded? Would advertisers really care about this size of gain, even if it WAS 12% or something? This feels so much like spin to me. Does anyone know if this would really be meaningful to anyone, or is this just network/genre spin with the goal of giving the advertisers confidence to keep investing? I'd love to know how the internet streaming thing is going, especially for CBS. I watch the CBS soaps often now via the MSN-TV site (not innertube or cbs.com, because that player is terribly limited). I noted that MSN TV moved Y&R to its top screen of "featured" shows (no other soaps yet...mostly classic TV)...which suggests to me that that has become a popular stream for them. I'm guessing those numbers might exceed the 10-20K being trumpeted here.
