Ryan: A grain of sand is very rough and hard and sharp and really not all that pretty. But take a million grains of sand, and what do you have?

Me (as Annie): A dune?

Okay, I'll stop now.

I know this year was hard to call since no soap really was a clear cut all year choice but no B&B or OLTL is laughable.

Hell, Days had some standout episodes too. Either Days, OLTL, or B&B deserved to be in there over AMC and Y&R.

I just hope AMC didn't submit any script written by Courtney Bugler.

Don't you mean "Courtney Bugler and Amanda Beall"?

I think AMC will submit a tape at the beginning of the Crash story...or maybe the funeral of Dixie and Babe.

Y&R should not be nominated...in its place should be either B&B or OLTL

I was told the eligibility period was from October 1, 2006 - September 30, 2007.

The WGA awards are only judged by the actual script, not the episode that aired. So actors' performances don't count for anything. (Technically, the Writing Emmy should only be judged on the writing as well, but since the judges watch actual episodes for those panels, it's hard not to let the performers alter the perception.)

So for the WGA awards, you can have nominees that had well-written stories/dialogue, even if the performers who said the dialogue on the show left a lot to be desired.

Thanks for the info, brimike. I never knew that. So the judges actually READ the breakdown and script and then vote. That makes more sense because things are always changed (by the producers, directors or actors) from script-to-screen.
