DAYS: Recast Lucas?

Ed's strength is the couples on Y&R were strong individuals in their own right. You could see they had individual stories going on while at the same time the couple story was progressing forward. We haven't been used to writing that intricate in years with Days.

No doubt, sungrey. Scott & the writers knew how to write for couples, as two unique individuals, not the monolith syndrome that has afflicted DOOL since the 1980s. I'd like for the couples on the show to become much more complex. That being said, don't even think of getting rid of Bryan Dattilo b/c he is Lucas Roberts.

I think BD's fine for the role AS LONG AS they keep Lucas a supporting character. He's just not leading man material, and if that's what they want to do with Lucas, then they have to recast. The character has been around for far too long as a minor character to try to do anything with him at this point, he'd need to be recast to give us a fresh start.
