It does seem as the individual writers are given a good bit of leeway with Guza (who Michael said is pretty much left alone with GH - Frons doesn't dictate too much to him). He generally gives them an idea of HOW he wants a day's show to go and they do the rest. He agreed, with varying degrees of success. While he wouldn't name names, he did admit that not all writers love all actors/characters the same. Pretty much the ones we THINK hate scrubs - do and the ones that worship the mob, do( they have their ownfav's to promote/protect) and he was thrilled that we know and love Karen Harris. He couldn't wait to call her tonight to let her know. He said that he had a ton of admiration for her work - thatGh is thrilled with what she has done. He said that not all of the writers get along - he told a story about how he was asked to TOTALLY trash Lucky Spencer last year. I quote "de-ball Lucky Spencer and I just couldn't do it". He called Guza and said "dude, he's a Spencer - I'm being asked to completely trash this character and I won't do it". So they let him do some re-writes of theSL and keep Lucky with more dignity and humanity (god, can you IMAGINE how much worse it could have been - just cause this one writer had it in forGV?)

Michael said that he doesn't necessarily have a favorite character to write for - but he was so excited to write for Luke when he first started onGH. He said that TG is just amazing - and that he TOTALLY changes whatever he wants in his script..no dialog is sacred with him.

Actually - he said that most of the actors do it to some degree - but not all can get away with it. NLG is apparently a real fire cracker - he said that she is constantly trying to change the scripts.."Alexis wouldn't DO that.." he mimicked. LOL, he also said that she was a bit of a prima donna

Michael said that they DO listen to the fans, of course. (not enough, says Michelle) HE said that they have people who are supposed to watch for continuity issues - but some times, the CURRENTsl has to take precedence. He also said that many times, specially when it references an sl that is 10 or more years old - they have to bend history a bit - that the "vision" of the head writers/producers of that time may not totally fit with what they are doing. But that they really do try not to make glaring mistakes too often. While they have medical experts, they do NOT employ Legal or other advisers, hence the creative legal system that exists in PC. He laughed and agreed that yes, sometimes you must suspend logic in the name ofSoapyness.

Ohhhh...I wonder who wanted to destroy Lucky even more!! Happy to hear Michael fight for the character. I love hearing about writers defending for what they believe in and what's best for the show. We need more writers like him.

Be careful Toups, this was the topic at the dish for most of the day. There were two separate recaps. One was blatantly clear that the poster had an agenda, the second one was more unbiased. I can't tell which ones you got.

I was there and this is so wrong. MC had nothing but praise for BH and NLG. He loves them both. He was worried about Lucky,yes. He did say Lucky is a Spencer and should not be falling for this. He was worried about Lulu too, not that she was not telling Lucky cause he could see that but that she did not tell Liz. There was NO negative talk about any character, actor or pairing. In fact, he was more interested in what our feelings were than in giving anything out. I do not understand why people are upset except to say that the original post is very slanted. The poster from the Scrubs Board was pissed about NS and I think that has shown up in her post.

MC did not diss any actor and believe me some of us were trying to make him. He gave out next to nothing in spoilers. It was all about what did we think.

I can not believe that she posted this and that everyone here is so worked up about it. I thought it was great to meet with a GH writer who asked what we thought about the show and was actually interested in our responses.

His BH love was so obvious that at one point someone said that someone at GH mus tbe inlove with her the way Liz is crammed down our throats and he said that's me.

He showed great admiration and respect for NLG and could not say enough about how talented she is.

Before you get your panties in a bunch, he did not say anything offensive about any character or actor and was very interested in what the fans have to say. I think it was wonderful to be heard and that anyone who fires off a complaint is a moron cause Guza is not this accessible, neither is the rest of the writing staff. MC was standing behind the bar saying stuff like do you like spinell, how do you feel about NS, do you really want ta s/l to go there. He was trying to ge tinfo to write FOR the fans.

Please everyone, chill out and appreciate that there is at least on writer who cares what the fans think and makes himself available to us and do not start firing off emails that will spoil this kind of access for us.

This poster was just plain out of line.

Michael Conforti is a great writer, he's been apart of great writing staffs at both GL and ATWT.

Why can't they just fire Guza and have Harris and Conforti as co-head writers?
