One, I think Nicole Forrester takes way too much heat for being the "other woman" in the middle of Reva and Josh. Granted, there's no way I could see her strippin' for a livin', but that's no longer who Cassie is.

Two, I'm sure there's plenty of warm nostalgia for Josh and Reva, as a couple. But there's also quite an argument for them just being burnt out as a couple. And this isn't just about the cancer story that separated them, this is about years of bad story. Years of hearing "always, Bud," and having it amount to a pinch of [!@#$%^&*] in a typhoon. They can (and probably will) reunite Josh/Reva...I don't GAS. All it really means is Robert Newman won't have crappola to do when Reva takes off on her next adventure.

As for Rick...I'd love to see him do anything, PERIOD. It's criminal how he's been ignored, and honestly, the faster he gets away from his boring wife Mel, the better. I hate him with Beth, but at least going up against Alan he'd have story.

I would love to see more of Rick and I am very happy that he is away from Mel. Seeing Rick triple Alan's donation was one of the few highlights of the show.

I just can't get past the sister factor when it comes to the Cassie/Josh/Reva triangle. :(

    • Thanks!   Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time.   Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
    • BTG got another SNL reference at 00:50  CONTEXT (so it isn't misconstrued) in this joke swap segment, Michael Che frequently makes his white cohost Colin Jost read racist jokes written by Che.

    • It's obvious that Israel's presence is a major divisive issue, and this is something that the EBU needs to deal with. According to the now published results Israel got 13 out of a possible 19 max points in the semi-final, and while their song isn't bad there's no way they would get those numbers without some kind of manipulation/political voting. They are clearly using this contest as a way of improving their somewhat tarnished reputation. I know that some people are comparing this to the massive sympathy votes that Ukraine gets and which propelled them to victory in 2022, but I feel that that was a more genuine show of support than this concerted effort from Israel to influence the televoting. I even had an ad on Youtube from Israel in Swedish(!) asking for votes! It might not be against any rules, but it feels a bit icky nonetheless.
    • Yeah, as you wrote, an Israeli win would have been a political disaster. Congratulations to Austria. 0 points from the televoting to Switzerland was a disgrace. Other than that, I really enjoyed the show ... but I'm also glad that Eurovision season is over

    • Hahaha Sorry if I was too negative, I just started typing and typing once I got going hahaha
    • @dc11786 Thanks for taking time to answer my various questions, along with giving your thoughts on the different writing teams. I wonder why they didn't just have Ryder and TR leave together if Jane was going anyway. The discussions over the last few pages have made me more interested in watching these episodes than I have been over the years - without the extra details and analyses provided, these years can be difficult to decipher (not helped by how often Jo seems like a side character).
    • I didn't think this was very good (I've never yet seen a good episode of this revival), but you do get a lot of Michael Stroka. And if you are a Donna Reed Show fan, you also get Paul Petersen.
