As for Deidre, we've seen her play the bad girl recently... being a serial killer 'n all. And one of the biggest reasons I want Kristen back is to see the dynamic between her and Marlena. Having Deidre play opposite of herself would eliminate so much of that, and it'd be a huge letdown.

I think that everyone in Salem believes Laura killed Kristen. If I remember right, Laura confessed to killing Kristen, then plead insanity and that's why she was sent off to another sanitarium. I could be wrong, though.

Everyone believes Kristen killed herself. Laura wasn't sent to a sanitarium...she was on-screen through September 1998 when she was dropped to recurring. She was a sounding board for Mike during his crisis with Ali. She eventually went to Africa to help her ex Bill with his clinic.

Kristen's death was ruled a suicide. Go dig up Dustin's old old recaps if you don't believe me.

How? When Tony woke up from his coma, he tracked down Stefano, but it was too late, Stefano was in that car crash and died...Stefano never had a chance to tell Tony that Kristen was alive, and why would he? Tony would be a threat to Kristen if she had Elvis and was raising him as Susan like he believed.
