All the space battle and outer space scenes have been redone using 2006 SFX. All new battle scenes that have been put in place of the original battles and planets. They're not changing what TOS is, it's being led by Michael Okuda who's been with Trek since TNG. They're preserving the original looks of the ships, stations, etc. The art style remains, but will look a whole lot better. No new scenes ... no changing who shot who first.
