  1. Photo licensing is expensive, on both sides. I think it is fine run older images so long as it is the right characters in the right context.
  2. John J. York should be part of this next time. He has the moves… and the body.
  3. I think YR should give Melissa a break to regroup. Give her a chance to zero out and revisit her character at a later time. Many soaps do a good job at this. Drop the character for recurring or a hiatus, and they normally come back stronger as revitalised for it. It also gives the character some higher stakes, something that drives them to leave town. Heartwarming and heart wrenching reunions when they return. Mysteries around what they did when they were out of town. It doesn’t mean the role needs to be recast, it just means they need a recharge. I think on YR many actors benefited from this. Lily, Ashley, even Sharon, have all taken breaks and come back as stronger characters and actors.
  4. Yuri is a handsome man. He also looks like a real person, not a perfectly manicured and sculpted soap opera hunk. I was fixated on him. Let’s hope this gives him a little more to do. I hope he’s around for next year’s nurses ball.
  5. So the Gorgaa lied about Dina/Dave. And Teresa lied about the pizza ovens. Two wrongs never make a right. Why do they want to coexist again? The healthiest thing both families could do is go in their own directions. They will never stop lying/stabbing each other in the back.
  6. I’m not. It was awful writing, and awful production. I wrote a pretty in depth criticism a few pages back that I stand by. I compared it to Katherine Chancellors “funeral” at the start of MAB’s run. It was a similar premise: an all cast event, many of the same guest stars, with a focus on celebrating the show’s history. Hold up those episodes against the gala, and there is no comparison. The scene that did me in was the Jill/Mamie scene. This should have been a blowout. Two veteran actresses with a proven chemistry reunited. Instead, the dialogue was stilted. The music did nothing to build the suspense of Mamie’s final line. It was like you had two Oscar winners, at a high school play. P Also, they threw a gala on the smallest set (the Jazz Lounge). Really?
  7. True! I Mean She Is The Living Proof that you can be past 60 and still Be Hot! Fun Fact: I discovered the Meaning of "Milf" because of her! 🤣 Only whoever was lusting after her called her a "G(ranny)ILF" You have to wonder if you’re Jack Wagner, and you look at the women he’s dated since Kristina… I don’t think any of them have aged as gracefully and beautifully as she. He really screwed that up.
  8. Save the money so you can pay Ned and Olivia for more than just a silent cameo appearance. Are they getting paid as under 5’s since they have no lines? I thought Tracy was back. Did I miss her return?
  9. After watching today’s episode, I have to compliment YR’s casting department. The entire cast today is strong. The new actors, and especially the recasts, are strong performers. I love these version of Adam, Chance, Summer, Nate. What a thankless job being in these so frequently recasted roles. I also love all the Victor, Nikki, Victoria scenes. These three together have so much chemistry. I love that Victoria is so clearly the favoured child. Amelia comes to life in scenes with these two vets. I noticed it in the post-gala coffee scene and at the Newman office scene. Victor, Nikki, Victoria’s coffee scene rung so true to me. That is how my parents and I are after a big party. We go somewhere quite to decompress and compare notes before going home. The only weak link for me has been Melissa Ordway as Abby. She is getting juicy material and missing the mark. I think she lack chemistry both with the actors that play Devon and Chance. The actors are being strapped with her.
  10. “I’m Carly Spencer.” Wow, when did we get this name change? She has always kept the Corinthos name no matter the divorces. And before that, she was Carly Roberts right? I loved the Bobbie Spencer flashbacks. The only thing that sucked was the music. Every scene they featured was dramatic and heartfelt, I wish the music played to those cues. Instead it was general, apple movie music. Why drop the ball. These were east tears to claim. The hardest part was the clip selection, and they knocked it out of the park. I also loved Sonny to the rescue with Lucy. It’s rare that he gets to play into Lucy’s humour, so the juxtaposition was perfect. I guess we will get Lucy in her underwear as we deserve…
  11. Felicia is such a beautiful woman. I wish they would have edited the dress, and removed the one sleeve. It looks so matronly. The Grecian, one shoulder look would have been enough.
  12. Vail had the bite in her performance, but lacked the storyline to be a “heroine.” Her character was so underserviced, especially for such a strong actress. I look at Eden’s run, and just think of what Vail could have done with that much more meatier material.
  13. I mean does Mac know Cody is his son?
  14. I find it even more important to honour history when a recast comes in. When Alec Musser came in as Del on AMC, they treated him basically as a new character. Del was engaged and lived with Kendall offscreen for years. That was a faint and passing mention. There could have been so many emotions and baggage to unpack with that. We never really knew how and why they broke up.
  15. Not one of these actresses was decent. I don’t think there was any love she for this character. Everytime they recast I had hope, but Heap was especially bad.
  16. Worth it. Cody is a real hunk and actually has some moves. I hope we get to see more of him. He was great with Britt, he deserves a better pairing. Maybe Holly when she is back on the canvas? Portia is single now too. I loved the little hints of a Bensonhurst Brooklyn that came out in her confrontation with Linc. I hope they continue to give her more edge. She needs to be more Lois and less Quartermaine. She was not raised in Port Charles. She should be NYC street smart. The flashback with Felicia, Bobbie, and Mac are the only part that reminded me that this is in fact the 60th anniversary of the show. I wish we got more flashbacks, but I guess it would remind folks of how great this ball once was. The last two days of the ball have not been awful. I love the Cassidine drama though. Anna, Valentin, and Victor are played by such capable actors. I even felt bad for Victor when he talked about mourning his son. It’s three industry vets, showing us how it’s done, despite the shaky writing. I wish Kristina or Sam would play a bigger role in the Cassadine drama. I forget Spencer and Sam are actually related sometimes. Kristina is played by a capable and beautiful actress. She should be more of a troublemaker. She should be in thick of Corinthos and Cassadine drama. Perhaps, she allies herself with Victor with the promise of a quick pay day, not knowing the victims she could leave in her wake. But she gets in deep before she realises it.
  17. I’m a proud member of the grey hair club.
  18. Is Gizelle really upset about a $100 bottle of tequila? It’s available at every liquor store, this isn’t some rare vintage. I think I’m quitting this series. Enjoy beautiful Phuket, give me some eye candy. I don’t care about fighting over tequila.
  19. Do you think UGT3 was delayed so much because the producers knew they didn’t have an A Cast? I admit I am missing Blue Stone Manor. There is something so much more authentic about staying in someone’s home/town. I can’t believe 3/4 of these women would have ever gone to Thailand. They are so fish out of water. Surprisingly, I am loving Alexia and Marysol the most, and they have been un-rootable in Miami.
  20. I liked the Nikki/ Summer scene. I would love to see the Newmans with their older grandkids more. Noah and Summer should make some more excuses to hangout at the ranch.
  21. Especially in that tiny jazz lounge? Phyllis’ disguise could work in a big church of in a big garden. But in that tiny space that fits maybe 12 people? The writers can’t think we’re that stupid…
  22. He is still handsome man, but not exactly the walking Ken Doll of his Passions days.
  23. Was James Hyde always such a stiff actor, and I was just distracted by his good looks? When did Diane’s “missing years story pivot to Stark v. Tucker? The gal sure was busy when she was away from Genoa City.
  24. The GH’s Nurses Ball always sparks the debate of who can, and cannot sing. Eliminating the professional singers with albums (I’m looking at you Rick Springfield and Bobbie Eakes, et al), who were you SURPRISED to learn had a good singing voice on your soap? On AMC, I used to live for when Donna (Candi Earley), Emily Ann (Liz Vassey), and from time to time Charla (Tchina Arnold) got a chance to show off their pipes. They could sing Broadway. They could sing pop. I remember there was a thanksgiving where the three of them sang together and their voices were so strong.
  25. The “Welcome to the Nurses Ball” song is just awful, and unnecessary. The words and the music don’t go together. Because they force the nurses to sing, all in a different key, I can’t even figure out what it should sound like. Make the opening song a fun, upbeat, oldie everyone knows the words to, that sets the tone for the evening’s ball. I like the idea of introducing a theme too (“This year, we honour Motown…) so this doesn’t look and sound like a bad talent show. Is anyone on the cast actually a good singer? Other than Ned (who we haven’t even seen this year). I hope JPS was not the second in line! …man I miss Vanita Harbour. At least the old regime had the decency to roll her out once a year for this.
