And the health care plan that NIXON proposed is not that different from Obamacare... and every time I throw that in the face of conservatives, they remain strangely quiet. the thing is... insurance is a SHARED RISK POOL, and THAT is also socialism. People who don't get sick pay premiums, and make up for those who do get sick, and use more than thyev'e paid into. Except that conservatives have been duped into this idea that we need some bogus, money making middle man to administer it all.

I wonder why nobody seems to be able to see that health insurance is a for profit middle man that is not neccessary to the equation of healthcare. Not when it can be done for less money by someone who doens't make a profit. And why should it be non profit? Because from my moral compass, I can't stomach the idea of making a profit off of someone else's pain and misery. A certain amount HAS to happen, because the doctors and nurses and hospital employees can't work for free... they have families to support. But the insurance agent don't need to make money off of you. To tell you the truth, the best thing that would even happen NOBODY has suggested, and that is to go direct from patient to doctor and hospital. Leave out insurance and government ENTIRELY, have hospitals offer memberships where you pay a monthly premium, and if you ever need care at that hospital (or any of it's affiliated hospitals), it's taken care of for free. Just like MAST ambulance service does with their yearly "memberships" here. Groups of Doctors could get together and act as their own insruance company... pay a monthly premium, and you can see any doctor in that network. Except the money goes DIRECTLY to the doctors and not to insurance companies, and that is naturally cheaper because you don't have to pay all these secretarties to handle all the insurance company billing. The hospital coverage could be required, and be on a sliding scale... so even the poor would pay a small amount, like 5$ a month, the top amount would be capped, so nobody would be paying 3,000$ a month or whatever. I also would like to see a mandate making all hospital be non profit. About 1/4 of them are already that way... everyone who works in them makes a salary, the institution itself doesn't need to make a profit off of people's sickness and misery.

Yes, Clive is like that, Carl. That's the main reason that Martha only recorded one album for Arista... her exact words about Clive were "That man ain't gonna tell me how to sing!" And Taylor Dane is very open now, and has been for quite some time. Thanks, SFK... i'll watch that Billy Preston unsung... that's a great series. I acutally think at some point Robyn is gonna spill the beans, and lay the whole thing out in the open... I would almost lay money on Seeing Robyn do an exclusive with Barbara Walters.

Alvin, what you are saying makes perfect sense. Why else would Whitney do so many drugs if it wasn't to hid emotional pain? she had everything else in the world. The deep homophobia within the black church is really INTENSE, don't underestimate it.

I totally believe this. Considering her strict religious upbringing, and the high profile her family had.... let's keep in mind, many in the church shunned Cissy when she started recording secular music.... imagine the fallout of Whitney being a lesbian?

I'm hearing reports that Bobby's "entourage" consisted of Whitney's Stepchildren. If so... then WTF, and who would have the gall to ask the ex-husband and children to move three times? After the third time, if I were Bobby... I would have said, "Is it ok if I go back and STAND in the back corner?" Or he should have said "Ask me to move one more time, and you'll have one hell of a mess on your hands".

You get your hat out the closet, ok? Iknow what you were sayin about Tequila. i've seen some people get totally crazy ass sh!tfaced on that stuff. I wanna know who would drink something that has a nasty old worm in the bottom? If a waiter in a restaurant brought you a worm in your dinner, you'd sue their pants off. I never understood the appeal of it.

Absolutely, SFK... so true. I've known about that family for quite some time... Cissy's roots in the church, and Dionne's sophisticated music and image carried over the Whitney's image... but these were "rough ridin bitches" as my friend calls them. People would be surprised, because of the type of music they sing, people expect them to be these aristocratic, Maya Angelou types, that simply is not the case.

That's very true. The Supremes held that record with 5 consecutive number ones until Whitney came along and broke the record. I sometimes wonder what brings a person who seems to have everything to indulge in self destructive behavior that ultimately kills them? Her poor mother... Cissy must be in such turmoil right now. She was the one who intervened and forced her to get help.... but sometimes a mother's love isn't enough, and it should be.

And you know, over here they bitch and moan about Arrowhead, because it was built in 1972. SO FREAKIN WHAT. they act like ti's not big enough... it IS for Kansas city, not for Dallas... but it's fine for Kansas city. And every team that comes to Arrowhead LOVES the facility and can't say enough good things about it and the way it's laid out. There are just a certain segment of society in any city that's never satisfied, and always wants some new toy to play with. Your stadium was built in 1995!!! Now they say it's outdated? and want to take taxpayer money for a new one? Let the damn team go somewhere else, I say.

Yeah... everybody's bitching about it. I live between Kansas City and Sedalia, and it's been reported on alot with the Kansas City Stations as well as the ones in Columbia. They spend 7 million on this crap, and now they want to put a toll on I-70 because they don't have enough money to fix it. PLEASE.

Since you mentioned that Max... I also want to point out that not one single candidate since Eisenhower has won a general election and been BALD. Let's think about that one for a minute.

Max, it's very simple. JFK is cannonized because he died at the height of his notoriety. the same thing happened with Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, etc....

Carl, just to give you an idea of the intelligence level of the people who came out to vote yesterday, look at these statewide tallies from yesterday's election in Missouri: Rick Perry - 2,300 votes Herman Cain- 2,500 votes Michelle Bachmann- 1,700 votes
-
The Politics Thread
Carl... here in Missouri the turnout in the urban areas was 3%, and the rest of the state was 7%... and people are really PISSED that the state spent 7 million dollars for all this, and it didn't even count. All these republicans in the rural areas just all vote the straight abortion ticket. That's what this is all about. the RNC totally is aware that there's no chance in hell that Santorum will deliver the IMPORTANT states in a general election, like Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
