Classic TV network MeTV will boldly take viewers back in time with a three-hour event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the premiere of “Star Trek: The Original Series.” At 9 p.m.ET/8 pm CT Saturday, Sept. 10, the official series premiere episode “The Man Trap” will air. The rarely seen original pilot “The Cage” will follow at 10 p.m. Cult favorite host Svengoolie will be on hand to host the special “Sci Fi Saturday Night” programming block. “The Man Trap” originally premiered on Sept. 8, 1966. With this premiere, Star Trek promised to take viewers on a five-year mission where no one had gone before.
