I don't know the answer but it reminds me of a story that is told about James Lipton. In it supposedly he wanted to write a hurricane in this inland city with no access to a body of water, at all. He was mad when they told him he could have a tornado, sure, but not a hurricane, even when they slowly explained why.- ALL THAT GLITTERS

I've not seen today yet so I'm intentionally not up to date here but I wanted to say something about yesterday that I neglected to say then & that is how glad I was to hear Hayley say that she IS going back to work!! She's right about that & Bill put a fair amount of pressure on her to get her not to, so I was right proud of her.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I am more than happy to agree to disagree with you. Wheeler was neither delusional nor was she "too emotional". But, what she was, was inexperienced & unsupported & that is on P&G both for not supporting the show financially & for not replacing MADD when she retired & for putting a newbie EP in the position they did & some of it is on Conboy & Weston, but it would have been the same situation with Scott in the role. There would literally only have been one advantage to Scott over Ellen & that is that KZ would've reacted better (much) to a male boss. And I know and like both Scott & Ellen. There's a long tradition of good leadership in our shows from women at the helm. If you think about Kim's book & her saying Ellen cried there's a notation in the margin in my handwriting saying "And Kim cried, too."- GH: March 2025 Discussion Thread

And, y'all, the guys, spend a fair amount of time appreciating your eye candy. I'd love to have Nadia back because she's like my best EYE CANDY, not even just in all caps but with confetti & a disco ball & strobe lights!!! YASS BABEEE. Plus, just about everything is more interesting than the BS that was B&S!!!- All My Children Tribute Thread
At that moment I was speaking of McTavish's fondness for Brian Frons. If Julie Hanan Carruthers liked him, I did not know that. Basically, all AMC, OLTL, SFT, PC, The City, SFT again, fans, all of them, should HATE Brian Frons, SoapKiller, known forever as the Daytime Destroyer. He canceled SFT twice, once on CBS & then again on NBC. He had a mandate to cancel OLTL but he was in a mood so he canceled AMC, too. The reason GH escaped that same fate on the horrible day in April is because they had no show to put on in its place. That is how close he came to decimating the entire ABC daytime lineup.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Yes, Scott & Ellen both shadowed Goutman for a period & then they chose EW, who I get we'll never agree on but that's okay, too. I disagree here about "better show". I think Scott would also have been drowning in the shallow end of the pool without enough money, just as Wheeler was. However, he might not have put Jerry on recurring, maybe.- GH: March 2025 Discussion Thread
I've been nodding as you go after this actually happened backstory & talking to the computer in helpful ways but that's not why I'm posting. For what seems like ages but is really probably only a month. Do you recall one GH day when Willow & Chase talked & she had what I call her Intro Level initial self-awareness of her current self & I was so excited & on the edge of my seat because I just knew Chase was about to praise her for having this insight into Drillow for the first time and, and, and, Dammitohellandback instead Chase said, "You are a good person & everyone knows it." KLUNK. Grumble. Grouse. Swear words. Yet despite Chase seemingly having no brain cells to rub together, from that moment on, I have been rooting for Chillow to be up next & I tend to think that we will get them. Not sure how they will blow up ChaLynn but, I guess we'll see.- DAYS: March 2025 Discussion Thread

Now there's someone I miss. Taken from us far too young. But that tracks so well if you know anything at all about the Daytime Destroyer's well deserved reputation. When Micheal Kape first interviewed him in 1983, Kape says he already had a hatred of soaps & a burning desire to rid us of them. I think that was right before he & Joanna & Don created Soap Opera Now, the weekly out of Atlanta.- Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
Just did a quick search on IMDb which as we know can be wrong & didn't find him as one at all, just 2 others, Peter Haskell & Joe Lambie. I'm sure someone will come along with better info.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
About Jerry verDorn, he also won the year prior, 1995, and that year it was for "Ross's Election Night Dream" which Patrick Mulcahey wrote. I recalled a post Scott McKinsey wrote about Jerry in my group on Facebook & it gave me a lot of new information about Jerry & you might find it interesting, also. Scott McKinsey May 2, 2022 It seems wholly appropriate that Jerry verDorn would pass away on May 1st, Workers’ Day. Jerry was the AFTRA Guild’s steward on Guiding Light for several years; and he made certain the actors’ rights were protected. Jerry was also the steward of the Guiding Light company. He was recognized as a leader, fellow and cohort by everyone working on the show. He led with intelligence, wit and talent. His example engendered pride. Whether on stage, the softball field, or charity events, Jerry made us all feel honored to be a part of the Guiding Light family. Personally, Jerry validated me and inspired me. Everyone at Guiding Light became a better person because of Jerry verDorn. May Jerry’s legacy be the standard for all to follow. Eternal joy and laughter to you now, my dear friend- BTG: March 2025 Discussion Thread

I adored CMesure as Jack Brennan so it's not really possible for me to get to that point "more" with Chris McKenna but it's also not necessary as to me McKenna is a much more than just competent recast. He's an excellent recast, IMO, anyway. I personally believe chem is totally subjective. That said, I find LW's Carly to have it in spades with about 85% of the potential population. It worked with Mesure but it also is working with McKenna. On to babies, I loved the parallels between Sasha & Jason and Brook Lynn & Chase. Amanda Setton continues to wow me & I liked getting more reaction from Chase. Not a surprise that telling him about Dante would get a predictable rise out of him. Sasha is interesting watching her reconsider Michael's involvement. Also her POV about Willow is refreshing.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

There was a line of dialogue today that really bugged me. I guess that's down to today's scriptwriter Lynn Martin, who I have long admired. The line was about how it is just impossible to get this whole family together. WHAT?!!! The extended Dupree family gets together with each other every single day!!! Now, sure, they may not have 100% attendance. But, between meeting for meals, events & family meetings, they see each other quite a lot. I guess I should just laugh it off.
