  1. Today, TVGuide & TVGuide email, normally I wouldn't post this here but we had the conversation here yesterday. @ErrolIf it needs to be some place else, please make it happen. I don't know how much value is in the article. https://www.tvguide.com/news/why-the-end-of-yellowstone-might-be-exactly-what-the-franchise-needs-to-thrive/
  2. Gosh I liked so many Jamies. I have a soft spot for the tweener Jamie, both him & Dennis at that awkward age. I don't even know the actor's name. But, I loved Richard Bekins! I was just listening to the AW theme on organ. Lance Jackson is a professional organist and he's a massive soap fan & he has a YouTube channel where he's recreated just about all of the organ themes & some of the little extras. Here is AW's organ theme.
  3. Thnx for that! These days Genie is making me feel as emotionally wrung out & rolled over as Maura often does. I love it. More, more, more!
  4. From Another World Memories on #soaptwitter On 2-7-1997 Robin Christopher had her last day as Lorna #2, which she'd played for the standard contract of 3 years. I suppose it was during this time that she met her future husband, Matt Crane. Linda Dano played Robin Christopher's mother on AW and also on ABC, GH, where Rae was "possibly" Skye's birth mother. Here they are in a Disney soap parade. from Another World memories on #SoapTwitter is Gail Brown, who began to play Clarice Hobson on AW on 2-7-1975. When the show was cancelled we had two fan gatherings Jun 20 '99 & '00 & Gail read about it in her local CT paper & just showed up without us knowing she was coming. We were seated & someone was speaking & she came in & it went all around the room, "Look, there's Clarice!" whispered excitedly.
  5. I think personally that this was the best & I have heard many fans over the years speak of this as their favorite writing for Cecile & the way they wished they would write her again. There were times later when they brought Cecile back that did not live up to hopes & dreams. Definitely a time of transition but how could it not be with Pete's exit, the 90 minute show, the real competition from OLTL & the perceived threat of a changed GH.
  6. Anna was incredibly efficient. Carrie, ashes, Roman's whole loss of ex & wife & sister, Vivian's call, secret room, Stefan, Rolf, practically did a week's exposition!
  7. Something has been bugging me. Brad said that he wouldn't be able to share GIFs with Britt. And, he pronounced it like Jif peanut butter. Is that how you do? I always spelled it out. Which is right?
  8. To me it would be 100% wrong to say that Pete's time at AW was overrated. Same answer about him spending time there. I think the show only would have gained from having him more years. And I sure would trade more him for that cockamamie 90 minute show! Obviously this is my opinion & yours might be different. 🫵🫰🔊NOW HEAR THIS! Pete's years at AW were truly golden!
  9. Concussion for sure. Unbelievable headache. Gosh I hope he's not dead. Just watched it & My heart is still beating fast & loud! I literally gasped! Of course, he pushed her that far with the threat to Avery. Genie Francis rocked again today. Adam H is still doing fine. I am only disgusted with them putting Liz back into Finn's arms. Bah!
  10. Thank you so much!! OMG, so much was going on. All the layers. And, FTR I know lots of people who value Tom King. I count myself among them. I mean my top tier is Bill & Irna because they began it even though they were not destined to be the spokes in the wheel. Then Agnes & I do personally believe that she saved the show from an early cancellation. SO MANY SOAPS died between 1.5 & 5 yrs! Anyway, continuing on, then Pete who I am a bonafide nut about & Swajeski who I am almost as bad about. 2nd Tier finds Tom King, Carolyn Culliton, Virginia L. Browne & Sam Ratcliffe. Also I wanted to tell you that if for some reason you don't want to see Anne Heche You must tell me because I am also bonafide nut there, too. I have just given in to calling it an epic failure. In the annals of soap history & things that stand out in their absolute wrongness, it is in there with other "blunders"!
  11. One of my guys on my Team thinks that P&G directed him to write those crime dramas specifically to mimic what GH was doing. He also said the first was good & then they were ... I believe his exact word was godawful. For some reason I cannot remember them! D'oh. How long till Catlin & Sally? Or is it Jake & the Loves next? As you can see, I am turned around. On 2-5-1991 Vicky was on the stand impersonating Marley. Cass did not know he was questioning Vicky. Marley had lied to Vicky & told her no rape occurred. Marley had been truthful with Cass that Jake had raped her. Marley admitted in court that Jake had raped her. Afterward, in her anger, Vicky destroyed the first women's restroom she came to. Thanks to Another World Memories on #SoapTwitter! I believe all of this is on her Emmy reel that she won with.
  12. I cannot remember who began to HW when Pete left. Have to look it up. Maybe Tom King. But, I just figure that with Pete leaving the first sign of slippage in the ratings they would have predictably panicked. And, panic tends to bring CHANGE! Let me go look that up. AW Mon., Mar. 5, 1979 2:30-4 1 hr to 90 min. When Lemay could not stand writing the 90 min. show is when he quit AW. It was Fred Silverman's idea & Paul Rauch jumped on it agreeing with Silverman. He & Pete fought, bitterly. AT first Pete stayed even though he was against it, but then he became exhausted & quit & wrote his scathing book. AW Mon., Aug. 4, 1980 2-3 bk to 1 hr. Yes, Tom King & then Soderburg joined him as co-HW.
  13. Harding "Pete" Lemay at ANOTHER WORLD 1971-79 1971-72 AW ranked 6th of 17 1972-73 AW ranked 3rd of 17 1973-74 AW ranked 2nd of 16 1974-75 AW ranked 2nd of 14 1975-76 AW ranked 2nd of 14 1976-77 AW ranked 2nd of 15 1977-78 AW ranked 2nd of 14 1978-79 AW ranked 8th of 14 1979-80 AW ranked 8th of 13
  14. Thanks to Another World Memories on #SoapTwitter On 2-5-1988 Cass & Felicia learned that Wally had died. (IRL Brent Collins had died on Jan. 6, 1988.)
  15. He literally seems to have an amazing facility for marrying beautiful women. But he apparently lacks any facility to stay married. And that doesn't even count some beautiful woman he's had long-term relationships with where they did not ultimately marry. I shouldn't talk about him. I just think he's had, like, a dozen relationships with beautiful women & it sorta seems like he's been blessed with more than his fair share. It's sort of fascinating. I'll shut up now.
  16. Okay, others, good question, but, Stefan in particular, didn't Rolf keep him alive? So, he wouldn't have gone anywhere, unless there's some place for comatose people's consciousness to go, ... er, right?
  17. Thanks for the info. We truly live in interesting times.
  18. Thank you. That does not show me what, for example, the top 5 peacock shows are. It just shows me that YELLOWSTONE is Peacock's #1, which is something that they've said. What I would give anything for is to see even Peacock's top 5. Sorry to be a downer on that.
  19. I don't know if he said it but it was definitely said that they had 6 months in the can. That number is right. But, they've had all these days when the show was longer than 36 min. that used up that show in the can. Okay, I don't know anyone who has access to Nielsen data on streaming. Now, apparently you do. Do you mind saying what your source is for Nielsen saying anything at all about DOOL? If you've got access to a Nielsen chart on streaming, can you post it? Thnx.
  20. So, today's show, ... Lucas says that Kristen was going to give them the orchid if they needed it, well, how did he happen to know that from his position in prison? And, why does he believe it?! I did NOT believe it! He's not the first either. Other people have believed it. Great Nick line: "All the lawyers belong to the devil." Great Julie line: "I think the marriage is gonna work out." speaking of Doug & Julie Julie expresses to Chad that they've been concerned about him & whether he will ever find love again. WHAT?!! Thomas, Charlotte, Jack, Julie & Doug all are sanctioning this relationship with Stephanie. OMG! Is this not, like, the hardest sell the writers have ever put behind a couple they are for, even if the fans refuse to be pulled kicking & screaming to it?!! I thought Nick & Charlie's Angels were good but I am just disgusted with all things Alex, Steph & Chad.
  21. If people are interested in digging some & learning about streaming, metrics audiences, etc. I have a few things for you. There's a chart showing HBO Max shows from last March put out by Parrot Analytics. https://www.bing.com/search?q=What%20is%20Parrot%20Analytics&form=SWAUA2 What is Parrot Analytics? https://www.similarweb.com/blog/research/audience-and-brand-building/streaming-audience-analysis/?fbclid=IwAR3C9KS7IomRRos9Y_Aw8-PsO74mykyTo1R-ohLTx0NpLYPxSGj7ONHkCeg This is a blog about metrics & streaming. It's dated which may not matter. Nov. '22 From an email newsletter by The Vulture's Joe Adalian: Nov. '22 From an email newsletter by The Vulture's Joe Adalian: As for how Days is doing so far on Peacock, that’s a much trickier proposition. One not-so-great sign: Parrot Analytics says audience demand for Days actually declined during the soap’s first full week as a streaming exclusive. Days went from having 11.6 times the demand of an average show in the U.S. to a 10.1 demand score, a drop of 13 percent. That’s not what you’d expect for a series making such a big move and getting more publicity than it has since the last time somebody was possessed by the Devil. But given how little time there was to promote the switch — and the relatively small footprint of the Days audience when it was on NBC — it’s not that surprising. Unless the internal data for Days ends up looking awful, I’d say odds are good Peacock will be patient. For one thing, the show is very inexpensive on a cost-per-episode compared to so much other streaming content. What’s more, Peacock doesn’t have a ton of megahits, so it doesn’t take a lot for a show to have a positive impact. Even if the Days audience ends up being relatively small, if it consists of a decent number of new subscribers and shows up consistently, then it could have similar value — and cost efficiency — than more high-profile titles. Plus, Peacock really doesn’t want to make enemies out of 2 million loyal soap-opera fans. Not a problem.
  22. Well put. Personally, I also think that the Li/Gabi wedding was peacock-produced. Number of people, costumes, set design, etc. all screamed NEW if you ask me. And, I want to say one thing I've been sitting here thinking about & that is that morale at the show is so much better now. The relationship between NBC/Sony/Universal & DOOL was (1) do it cheaper, now, even cheaper (2) internecine warfare (3) micromanaging. Now, Peacock actually LIKES the show & seems gung ho abt it. I believe Al Alarr, co-EP who still directs because he wants to, is the point man for DOOL/Peacock relations & I have heard nothing but fantastic things about him as an administrator & a man to work for & with. As fans while we may not like all of Ron's decisions, we can like that this is a more positive place where these people are working. And I say that today, when I feel really defeated about Alex-Steph-Chad.
  23. You're already seeing full closing credits longer shows shorter shows green screen CGI new cameras for 3 weeks in Jan. the shows were half & half - half-NBC produced & half-peacock produced Now as of Feb. 1&2 100% peacock-produced 1 month from then is when new writing should kick in. Oh, yeah, I left out the first advantage I loved: No Pre-emptions.
  24. I just did a quick run through some YouTube sites searching "Deidre Hall TCA" There's just not much. TCA Red Carpet: Robt sitting at #1 Dee love being on streaming, all new for us Robt feel history being made Dee told about playing herself on HACKS airing end of year TCA, MuseTV Network specifically asked about getting new younger audience from the move to peacock: Dee The last time we got an influx of new younger audience was the possession & now we are getting a new younger audience again, like new blood being pumped in Day of Days with Drake 2 months ago: Dee This year is different because it's not Sony Universal doing it, it's Peacock. Let me tell you it has been delightful, so smooth Drake 4 generations of fans just as passionate as can be & we match that passion Could go from mag site to mag site looking at articles but I imagine it's all the same. Sum up, when talking about peacock the actors are high on it. And, I can tell you from talking to someone at the studio regularly he is high on it & reports his colleagues are, too. I think that is great to know, but I don't think it tells us anything about how the show is doing in any hard facts way. The person from the studio who told me that "Feb. 1st-Feb. 2nd were the first days" that were "100% Peacock produced" not anything about the writing. When they moved it was said that they were 6 months in the can with another month written. So, exactimundo! There's a kind of rule of thumb.
  25. Agreed. I don't like Alex at all. And thanks! 😄 So, is disliking Alex a Majority Stockholders Position?!! I like it. I'm so accustomed to Minority Holdings. And, yes, thanx!! 🫵🫰😂
