I really really enjoyed that. And, it made so much sense to me. And, another thing, I really liked the fact that he & Olivia remained friends who never got past being attracted to each other, even though they weren't going to act on it. I felt like he was the only guy in Olivia's life who understood Otalia.

Well, for me, I well remember MR when she first started. She & KA & Lisa Trusel, as novices, we used to say they ran races to see who could say their lines & get offstage the fastest. It was a good-natured joke when they were young & kinda shy. They all got over it & became journeyman actreses & then they went on to master their crafts!!! Really exceptionally good actresses & yes, they grew up with their characters, what an advantage that is!!! So, I definitely am well aware that when Missy was at the top of her game & also a regular cast member, you couldn't beat her Jennifer Rose, period. But, now, all of the side stuff pulls me right out of the dramatic moment. Add that to the fact that she's not interested in it as a regular gig & to me, it's simply not worth it.

Now you've gone & done it. Reminded me of the worst of the worst. I have NOTHING but bad to say about the ConWest regime but worst of all is when I remember all that damned money he spent on that ..... full-siize baseball diamond, when Shayne had played hockey, maybe other sports, but never baseball. It came out of nowhere & except for costing money the show did not have to spend it was one big bust.

After all this elevated talk & intelligent discussion, you may be appalled at what I am about to post. But, it's all Alan Locher's fault. This is what he posted on Twi/X early this morning, I have challenged him to come up with a picture of Grant Aleksander when he was on AMC. Alec McIintyre was constantly wearing this itty bitty speedo & diving in the pool. I'll say this for JWS for a preacher's kid, he sure did have a body!!!

FINALLY! Someone else here is making sense!!! Cady has an interesting distinction, Emmy-wise. She's won an Emmy for playing 3 different roles, on 3 different shows, on 3 different networks. And, all 3 were recasts! Dixie on AMC which is ABC, Roseanna on ATWT which is CBS & Jennifer Rose on DAYS which was either on NBC or on Peacock. Sorry I am unclear on that timing. Clearly she must have been just awful on Y&R since she was not presented with such an accolade. (Joking!)

There is one more part of that otherwise odd inane story that I simply adored & that is me and getting to have all those lovely costumes, which I happen to have pictures of. You can see them on my IG acct. It's under shallotpeel . I also have AW Lumina Ball, A wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens & a Halloween, & some fantasy scenes.

Well, I was muttering to myself about being disgusted with today's show and all of a sudden one of my favorite shows in the whole world, ever, is on Peacock following DAYS!!! HLOTS! HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET! WOW. So, my rose is Hattie for standing up for herself in the face of Lenny's armchair shrink impersonation! My thorn is whoever wrote this mess.

Here, we have to agree to disagree. The clone, traveling through time via an oil portrait, Amish Reva, Reva as Princess Catherine, Reva & Sandy & Jonathan, ... to me at least, those first three are obviously egregious & as bad if not worse than anything AMC inflicted on their yearly Emmy quest for Erica. I only think it is possible to make the case that Reva ate her show. I don't see that with any other GL character.

I was very very involved with GL at that time & frankly I'm not aware of their having a monster fanbase at that point. Now, Kim had possibly one of the strangest fanbases I am aware of. All she had to do was say the word & they leapt into play calling the studio & harassing & haranguing until whatever the goal was, was achieved. And, they literally considered it mandatory fan activity if she was off the front burner for one day, one single day was too much. By that point Robert was consigned to "scene partner". I doubt it was that way in the beginning but by the end she was extreme & so were here fans. Of course, a great many things were terribly wrong with GL fandom by then.. All you had to do was make one trip to the infamous GL Buzz Board. Shivers, Bad memories.

It's good to remind ourselves in these discussions, which are totally on point, that before this time NBC itself as a network not only promoted violence against women as a worthy goal but insisted on its inclusion. Specific AW example, probably the single most egregious, is that NBC insisted that Donna Swajeski rewrite the confrontation between Marley saying she wanted a divorce from Jake & his insisting that she loved him. In the original, Jake did not rape Marley & Swajeski was of the opinion that it's not something Jake would have done, ever. I'm sure they had a helluva an argument & that he pushed, possibly even tried to get her to have sex with him, but did not rape her. NBC insisted that she change it & have Jake rape Marley. They fought over it. She said they forced her. She also said she resolved at that moment that as soon as her contract came up she was quitting - and she did. ABC, there are some who insist that the head of ABC Daytime mandated that Luke rape Laura. Okay, her chronology, I believe was GH/Music, Santa Barbara/? promoted to EP, GL, AW, OLTL, Hollywood Heights?, GH, Y&R ... did I miss one? At any rate, my question is this. If in fact she had some natural talent, and you suggest it was gone that early in her trajectory, what happened to it? Why did she lose it? I loved Rita Madison. Chris was such a good friend to Jake. I've pointed many times to the example of Christine Tucci & Paul Michael Valley. On one of her first work days at AW she fired 3 people. Tucci was one of them. At that time she & PMV were a romantic couple IRL. He was furious. He claimed he wanted to quit. She said fine & not only that but she'd kill off his character. I have always said a good EP would have waited 3-5 days during which time he'd have cooled off some & no longer have wanted to quit. A good EP would have facilitated that. Jill instead make it worse & killed off Vicky's best romantic fictional coupling. And, Carl's only child.

I know that a big reason DAYS used Nancy & Craig for that late in life realization sl was because the actor was gay. I thought the sl was ruined because the choice of couple was so totally wrong because of the context of OG Nancy & Craig & Nancy being a BBW. I don't have any problem at all with gays being cast in gay roles but that was one time where they picked the wrong gay. You're right about casting being different for the gals. I'm not sure why that is.
