  1. Psychology Today takes a look at Trump's mental health. "There’s also the kind of lying that he does that is, in a way, more serious. That he has a loose grip on reality. Because he lies about things that aren’t even that important to him, like the Electoral College majority. And he’s been told that it’s not true but he keeps doing it. What that indicates is that he can’t stand an aspect of reality that he doesn’t want, so he rejects it. His grasp of reality, his attention to it, is loose; an extremely dangerous trait in a president. And that makes him unqualified.”
  2. It's amazing how they believe whatever he says. They literally edit their memories to conform.
  3. No. People lie about the president all the time. It comes with the job.
  4. A friend of mine who is married to a veteran explained it to me as a lot of vets voted for Donald because Hillary (and Democrats in general) wants to cut the Pentagon's budget so they vote for what will make their jobs easier. Of course the problem is that money thrown at the Pentagon, just ends up in the pockets of defense contractors not the troops and certainly not the VA.
  5. @Khan I can't even imagine what it's like to have relatives who voted for Trump.
  6. Schumer wants to make sure to give credit where it's due.
  7. I am awestruck by how many people think this guy is going to ever change. He's a con artist and a grifter who has spent HIS ENTIRE LIFE lying and taking advantage of people and yet you keep seeing all these people who think that they will be the one to turn him into an adult, let alone a president.
  8. Those folks got Kanye-d.
  9. As a Clevelander who had to endure that RNC nonsense up close - my company hosted parties including one with Sessions in attendance - I would love for that to be thing that brings him down.
  10. My Republican (former) friend in Indiana despised Pence. She voted for Trump but she hated Pence with the heat of a thousand suns.
  11. Hee! Then by all means speak on and let's us hope that you are correct and I am wrong as hell.
  12. Don't get your hopes up about that. Anything can happen. We saw how eager the media was to declare him "presidential" just because he read from a teleprompter for an hour and managed not to piss himself. The resistance has had a lot of victories but we've had a lot of losses. IMO this is going to be a much longer fight than a lot of people think. Jeff Sessions was a US Senator from Alabama and somehow the Russians managed to turn him. That's how far down the rabbit hole we are. There's no telling who else they may have compromised through blackmail, threats, bribery, etc.
  13. Obama's shadow government claims another victim.
  14. The glorious thing about the leaks is that a lot of them are obviously meant to undermine others in the administration. Trump likes to keep people competing with each other and that only fuels the leaks. Bamz obviously learned a lot about thinking a few moves ahead when dealing with these charlatans. Term One Obama took way too long to figure out just how low these folks would sink.
  15. This one's for Carl. Marco Rubio is being evicted from his Tampa office because of protests.
  16. What amazes me is that anybody anywhere thinks that something will change this man. He's been this way his whole life. He's a bigoted, perverse grifter who has simply been protected from the consequences of his personal and professional failures. I'm just trying to figure out who's going to end him: Putin, the intelligence community or the military because the Joint Chiefs looked like they wanted to whoop his ass.
  17. There's no new playbook. They upped Trumps meds enough that he was able to stand for an hour and read a telelprompter. (Remember when reading from a teleprompter was a sign of incompetence?) It's amazing to see the folks in Trumpworld suddenly decide Van Jones and CNN are best thing in the world when just yesterday it was fake news.
  18. Yeah, Van Jones has been in my "dead to me" file next to Tavis Smiley for years.
  19. I don't listen to Trump because the man is a pathological liar. He will say one thing then literally say the opposite a few sentences later. He lies about things that are easily checked like his EC victory.
  20. He's not doing [!@#$%^&*] for HBCU's. They aren't getting a dime.
  21. It's funny how even when these folks win they can't stop beating up on Obama and Hillary. It shows how kneejerk the hatred is and how it isn't based on anything real. I saw the same thing after the DNC chair election. Berniacs swearing up and down that Perez was Clinton's pick because she's obviously planning a 2020 run. One, only a fool thinks that Hillary would put herself through that again and two, it's another example of how the Berniacs are stuck in campaign mode and have no real agenda of their own.
  22. From everything I've seen, the two of them agree on just about everything and even seem to like each other. I'll be honest, Ellison was at the bottom of my list because of his ties to Bernie and his willingness to leave Congress at a time when it's more important than ever but his recent words and actions have reminded me of the time I liked him before all this.
  23. I agree for the most part with a few exceptions. One exception is Patton Oswalt. He's excellent at Twitter snark but he's also very well informed. I've found his political to be one of post-Trump coping mechanisms. He also wrote some really amazing things after the death of his wife. Even some of his more "trivial" tweets showed what it was like for him to try and emerge from grief and find a new normal.
  24. So will the inevitable recession.
  25. For all the talk about marches and rallies, this is the kind of activism I'm more interested in. I've occasionally donated money to races in other states. It would be nice to know the best places to target. They were successful in winning the Delaware special election. "So in late November, Bosworth launched Sister District, a website that helps activists in safe blue areas support candidates in red states and swing districts who could use the help. Sister District, which boasts about 5,000 members and has been recruiting at anti-Donald Trump protests and on social media, is in the process of filing for tax-exempt status as a 527, allowing it to raise money and donate directly to candidates for state office. It recently joined forces with another organization with a similar agenda, Flippable, on a race they hope will demonstrate the power of the suddenly energized grassroots left: a special election for a Delaware state Senate seat that will determine the balance of power in the state Capitol." http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/02/swing-left-sister-district-flippable-delaware
