Unfortunately no.
Thanks! I feel like that's such a missed opportunity.

Carl Williams abandoned his family.
That did not happen. I wish we could put this to rest!!! LOL
He had amnesia, it was never said anywhere that he abandoned his family.
Also - it's not even a huge retcon. He stopped appearing and then they gave an explanation for it a few years later.

THE WHITE LOTUS
and
STAR TREK TNG Season 5. On episode 15 and I've pretty much adored every episode this season.

I really liked the pilot. Drew you right into the tension. Matt Smith was terrifying and hot as Daemon - What a performance! And I loved Rhaenyra. The main arc - the war for succession - is a really strong centerpiece. I can't wait to see what they do with it.

AT LONG LAST!
I am quite impressed and happy with the first episode. Visually, it strongly evokes the original trilogy and just feels like Middle Earth. Story wise, I felt it was gripping enough so far. I loved the little glimpse of Sauron. Felt like it came right out of the movies (but I will try not to constantly make that comparison, difficult as that may be). Morfydd Clark as Galadriel was phenomenal. The ending was a lovely cliffhanger. I think its biggest triumph for me personally was that I felt immersed in that world even after the episode ended. It was convincing and gripping enough. Not all hope is lost.

Yeah, never been too crazy about those, but they are convenient every now and then when discussing on a forum!

This show is so bizarre. It respects it's history while not recognizing anything that made it great.
I guess it goes hand in hand with giving their veterans a lot to do but at the same time nothing to do.

That is easily one of the top 10 best moments from any of the Big 4. A triumphant culmination of unexpected drama, acting, shooting, editing, and music. Its execution as thrilling and unexpected as what was happening. And those little details like Diana's scarf floating into view as the camera pans to Lilimae which you can't imagine happening on any of the other soaps. I will never get over it.

Just wonderful news. I am in the middle of watching Season 4 for the first time, so the timing is excellent. Should be fun discovering the last of the Big Four soaps I have left!

Just binged OZARK Season 1. The hype was worth it.

Billy/Lily couch sex. Again.
LMAO
Cane's sole purpose was to d!ck Lily down when he was around. Seems that role has been filled by Billy now, so to speak...

I apologize for not remembering who said it but someone had an insight on here a few months ago that I have thought about a lot and ended up thinking was key: the strength of YR and the reason for its stability in the ratings is that it is veteran-heavy, much more than any other show in numbers and in fewer comings and goings.
The problem though is that that crowds out any new character and there is very little room to play new generations and invest in storylines outside of the narrow confine of those veterans.
It is a short-sighted strategy because none of them are getting any younger and once they start dropping, the void will be pretty terrible and the ratings will crash IMO if nothing is done to prepare the succession.I was the one who mentioned that and I still stand by it - retaining so many veterans is its saving grace.
I don't think having a lot of veterans crowds out new characters. The issue with that is the writing and often casting just isn't there. You cannot possibly invest in the new characters when they have no interest or actual audience pull whatsoever. That's what needs to be fixed. In a better written show, weaving in the old with the new would be no issue and in the late 90s/early 2000s, the show definitely did that very, very successfully.

I'm always surprised when people advocate the Newman/Abbott families be phased out or limited.
If there's a small silver lining and anything keeping the show together, it is the presence of those core actors and characters. Barely, yes. But I cannot fathom the awfulness of not having that.

Guys - there is no way such profanity was used on a daytime soap in the US in the mid-90s.

I can't remember what country it was, perhaps Greece (?) but Caroline was so popular that the show was either called "Caroline" or nicknamed "Caroline"...this could just be an urban legend, but it's a distinct memory of mine...
It's true! My grandpa, when he was alive as recently as a few years ago, still referred to the show as Caroline. It was a nickname - the show's title is the same but people in Greece would say "it's time to watch Caroline"! I loved hearing about that.

Finished Showtime's THE BORGIAS. Started off decently and quickly developed in Seasons 2 and 3 into a great show (esp. Season 2). Too bad Showtime couldn't give it its 4-season run. Apparently the finale movie script is available - for 10 bucks - on Amazon. I just may indulge one day.

Looks like Cam reached out to GH and not the other way around.....
Honestly, I cannot fault the hustle. He saw his gig drying up and secured the next bag. Respect for that.
As for what GH will do with him, well... I'll definitely be checking it out.

Always lovely to see Sheila and her being Finn's mother is great soap. I don't have any faith they'll do it any justice but I'll enjoy her for the 20 or so episodes she's frontburner (if that).

Fingers crossed they'll keep going. How wonderful would it be to eventually get all the 90s?!!

Hey everyone,
Sorry it's been forever and I've missed a zillion emails from Nikki. Do you guys still need the rest of 1994 until Taylor "dies?" I think it stopped at James and Taylor trapped in Big Bear? If so Nikki will do them this week and put them in the vault.
Yes please and thank you!!

A couple questions (sorry if this has been discussed before):
What's going on with the end credits for the early 1990 episodes? Seems like they're just repeating the same one (Deveney Marking directing, Maria Arena script) over and over, having replaced the actual credits. Does this go on for a while?
The 1997 episodes being uploaded to YT right now have zero background music. Surely this isn't how they were broadcast? What's going on over there?! LOL
