Agree!  Also, she, like Susan Seaforth Hayes, has the ability to light up the screen with just her face.  All any director or camera person has to do is put the camera on her and the rest takes care of itself.

Indeed. She’s captivating. And soaps have trotted out tons of people, even actors who are also professional singers, to perform over the years, and it’s almost always embarrassing. GL is a cut above.

I forgot about Labine I remember being pumped up at her coming to GL and how that ended in absolute catastrophe. I don’t know how much of that was Rauch & MADD’s fault but it really looked bad compared to newbie Hogan Sheffer’s ATWT at the time and the soap press were more than happy to point that out.

Yeah, even after her weak OLTL, I too was stoked to see what she could do at GL. But it felt like a caricature of a lot of her previous work, with the quirky “humor” (May Merisi), extending the mob stuff with the Santos family, sad deaths of children (Cassie/Richard), shoehorning in social issues stuff (Reva and the human trafficking story that led to Catalina’s arrival), etc.

He can leave at any time.

No one is setting up these dreadful performers.  Like Howarth and Easton, Ramsey has a job he shouldn't.  Frank doesn't require any talent and holds on to the worst of them.  If the viewers object, Frank digs his heels in more.

He certainly can, although I know actors get promised stuff TPTB never make good on. Like “this will go somewhere. Trust us!” But what he’s been offered is beyond his capabilities. And whatever happened yesterday is both his and the writers’ faults.

Despite everything, I have to admit today's episode was really good. Yeah, Wes' acting needs work and Finn was being too whiny and dramatic with Anna, but overall I enjoyed it.

WR was the weak link, even if he wasn’t as godawful as he was yesterday. Everyone else was on point, especially Finola but including Kirsten Storms.

It did feel like a good classic soapy takedown (at a wedding!), but certainly not worth what we went through to get there.

Yeah I was kind of ready for Sally or even (heaven forfend) saint Mariah blackmail Kyle about not telling Summer about the child for a few days. They could have got Kyle to vote on Jabot stuff they wanted, even if it went against his own interests. Just a little light humor watching him do stuff he obviously doesn't want to do because he is trying to cover his mess.

That would have been highly preferable to the tension-free stuff that’s been playing out on screen.
