  1. Kathryn Garcia made up a lot of ground with the ranked-choice voting in the NYC Dem mayoral primary. She has 48.9 percent to Eric Adams’s 51.1 in the simulation with all the other candidates eliminated, a 16k gap. 124k mail-in ballots have yet to counted. Those results will come July 6.

  2. It’s just too bad his character died a long time ago, unlike many of the other GH actors who’ve had recent tributes (like John Reilly).

Still they’d be stupid and disrespectful not to give the guy his flowers. Alan was a leading character on the show throughout GH’s pop-culture zenith. There’d be a lot of interest in a tribute, even if it were simply Port Charles honoring the anniversary of Alan’s passing or something.

I never thought any soap would kind of ascend above how I felt about Labine’s GH- but my last year or so watching almost all of Curlee/Demorest/Reilly/Broderick’s run, it might be my favorite soap period.  Not only was the major cast almost perfect, but there was a real balance of types of stories and characters.  Multigenerational, rich, middle class, poor, strong women and a real sense of community that makes sense- it’s all I really want in a soap.  I even like Dylan, who may not be the strongest actor but he fits into that mold of a character I think a soap needs to have.  Beth stories of that time might be the only ones I just don’t care for.

Nothing broke my heart like Labine’s GH- and that’s okay.  Because with that version of GL I had heartbreak and triumph and flat out entertainment.  For how much I loved Laura, Monica, Robin, Lucy, Brenda, and Lois, I equally now love KS’s Mindy, Vanessa, Bridget, Nadine, Gilly, Bev’s Alexandra, Harley, Maureen, Jenna, Holly, Eleni and especially Sherry’s Blake.  So many great female characters.

That’s exactly how I feel. If it somehow managed to have LGBT characters (not necessary but would have been great), it would be my idea of soap perfection.

Serena crying on court. Looks like she's going to retire soon.

    Yeah the crowd was lousy.

    Omg Serena fell again..loud scream.

That’s upsetting. I just saw the clip. Are the courts in good condition?

Wimbledon needs to answer for the state of these courts… Like I get that new grass is slippery, especially after all the rain, but when the GOAT female player potentially ends her career with a tumble on your court, right after another player has a bad injury due to a slip, you might need to take a look at things…

Mannarino retired after falling and injuring himself.  Works out perfectly because the match was snoozeville anyhow.

I heard that people were laughing and joking around after the match. Kinda sh!tty for a match where a player retired due to injury.

Serena injured. This has been one shitty tournament from the start. I've never been so bored with a tournament.

    Slippery courts?

It’s his bangs lol. They tremble a lot (compare to Amy’s hair in her debate performances and Rachel Dratch’s SNL impersonation). He’s actually wearing a lot of product in his hair for his scenes with Ashland and Victor, but it was totally noticeable in those Chelsea scenes.

Sorry, this is the stuff I notice when I’m not otherwise engaged lol.

Let's remember that it really seemed they were writing Thomas in a tight corner for a while there - same with Flo. They still managed to keep them around - a good thing for the former, less so for the latter.

We shall see if the same indulgence applies to these fine AA actors.

I don’t think Brad has *ever* cared about Carter or Justin as much as Thomas or Flo (whom they’ve had embraced by the Logans), so there’s a lot of reason to be skeptical. Still if B&B proves me wrong, I’ll be the first to cop to it.

Justin is actually being given a POV, which is somewhat of the blue, but that’s far more than what Carter’s getting.

In all fairness, barring the Core Four (Stephanie being dead) and the Infernal H/L/S triangle, B&B is very very infamous for treating EVERY character as expendable. Not the best show for job security.

No. It’s just interesting to me that the two black sidekicks to the core families have similar stories, even if the magnitude is different. A curious coincidence for two barely-there characters.

I like when people were like "Carter slept with a married woman; he is RUINED!"

Bell was like: "Hold your horses. Let me show you RUINED".

😅 Justin said “hold my beer”

Carter can come out of his predicament just fine other than the awkwardness of performing his lovers vowel renewal to his boss. I really hope Carter is here long term. It’s way overdue for him to have a decent story.

I think B&B finds both of them expendable. Even taking into account the horrid writing for Brad’s pets like Liam and Hope, they’ve barely shown any interest in each character for years. And, barring a late-in-life Quinn pregnancy, it’s unlikely Carter will get much story out of this.

Agreed that adultery is the far lesser crime. Soap characters cheat, even the “good” ones.
