  1. [!@#$%^&*].
  2. Okay, new rule: Joe Biden is not allowed to speak publicly (or even privately) until after the election. But seriously. Does his latest gaffe matter to anyone? Especially now, when we remain in the grips of a worldwide pandemic? I wish we had the luxury to cancel him. However, the simple truth is that we don't. The republic will not survive another four years of Donald Trump. It just won't.
  3. I blame that on network/EP interference. Under the best possible conditions? Maybe Henry Slesar. Or Peggy O'Shea. Or even Pat Falken Smith. But, that's all presuming Patrick Mulcahey would have been unavailable or uninterested in assuming the reins.
  4. Frankly, the coronavirus is much too smart to bother with someone so stupid.
  5. Two months later... "The role of Lori Loughlin will now be played by Karrie Emerson."
  6. IIRC, William J. Asher is Elizabeth Montgomery's ("Bewitched") son by William Asher.
  7. Well, now it can be told: Bill Bell, and not Agnes Nixon, was the real genius behind Pine Valley.
  8. Except, I don't believe Nola would have been okay with Nadine stashing a pregnant Bridget in her attic and then passing off the baby (Peter) as her and Billy's.
  9. Thanks (once again) for your analysis, @dc11786. I watched LOVING only intermittently, so it's nice to get an in-depth perspective from someone who followed the show more closely. You really help me (and others) "see" what was happening on the show, if that makes any sense, lol.
  10. If I've said this once, I've said it a million times: DAYS should have brought on Erika Slezak as Dr. Laura Horton.
  11. It's certainly better than MY suggested title: "The REAL General Hospital."
  12. I love how the Internet has taken to calling that Costco "customer" "Kevin." But seriously. As y'all know, I live in "the great state of Oklahoma." For years, there was a movement of sorts to get our state government to reverse a rule that prohibited drivers from operating any motor vehicle while shirtless. I don't know whether they were successful in getting the law struck down, but it doesn't surprise me now to see people refuse to wear masks (even though private businesses are well within their rights to ask patrons to do so). It frustrates and angers me, but it doesn't surprise me.
  13. I realize his narcissism makes it impossible for him to remain out of the public eye...but, man, I wish Matt Lauer would just take his millions and go far, far away.
  14. Apologies for this random question, but...did anyone ever come back from the dead on KNOTS? Because, as far as I can recall, when someone died on the show, they stayed dead, which was (and is) kind of a rarity even among the primetime soaps.
  15. Believe me, @DramatistDreamer, I know how you feel. I don't know which is worse: the fact that she displayed the sign, or the fact that she doesn't apologize so much as she passes the blame. ("It wasn't my sign! Someone handed it to me!" Yet, there she was, arguing that she was a "free human being," who wouldn't be controlled by anyone. Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?) It literally makes my blood boil to witness such jackholes equate minor inconveniences with three centuries of slavery and segregation. You think being asked to wear masks and gloves is a slippery slope toward being controlled entirely by the government? Take it from someone whose ancestors were runaway slaves; you ain't seen nuttin' yet!
  16. Lisa Brown and Melissa Hayden's chemistry as Nola and Bridget was probably one of the very few bright spots in an otherwise dark and nasty period for GL. If only Nancy Curlee had been around to write for those two....
  17. Thanks, @Darn, for the clarification! Sorry I got my facts mixed up!
  18. Well, remember: HBS was This. Close. to coming back. However, when OLTL offered her Nora, she changed her mind.
  19. I'm not sure, but I think I read years ago that Bill Bell was overjoyed when he hired Kay Alden, because the "California writers" whom he had hired to write on Y&R weren't working out. Also, I probably shouldn't say this, but John F. Smith looks VERY sexy in that photo.
  20. I wish I could chat with Tom King about his career in daytime. For some reason, he's always been one writer who's held a certain fascination with me.
  21. I'd settle for an all-soap diva revival of "Follies." Yeah, IIRC, he was Co-HW with Sheri Anderson and (I think) Charles Pratt, Jr.? Outside of OLTL and DARK SHADOWS, though, he didn't have a very memorable HW'ing stint.
  22. I really wish I had industry connections and an ability to podcast. I'm no Dick Cavett, but I think I could do a much better job than some of those yokels.
  23. It's assessments such as Schemering's that really make me miss KL. As his article outlines, one of the show's many, many beautiful qualities was its' ability to weave several different kinds of stories (so that, if one story didn't appeal to you, another one surely would); as well as its' ability to know when something wasn't working and course-correct almost immediately. Thanks, @EricMontreal22, for sharing!
  24. Me neither! But, who says Scott Holmes would have played Walter White?
