  1. Ratings for the week January 15-19, 2024
  2. Yeah let’s get back on topic, please.
  3. There's usually one or two surprise nominations and America Ferrera was it this year. A bit disappointed about Margot but she was never going to win. As a big Christopher Nolan, I hope he wins Best Director. I know he's the favourite, but you never know. Will feel more comfortable if he wins the DGA. So according to these nominations, it's a three horse race for Best Picture: Oppenheimer, Anatomy of a Fall, and Poor Things.
  4. Someone went digging all the way back to 2007? LOL I guess thanks to that person because I'm definitely going to read it again.
  5. She's definitely a Y&R legend. That leaves Sally McDonald as the last writer/producer/director from the Bell era.
  6. There's not that many writers from Carlivati's OLTL on GH - just Scott Sickles and Suzanne Flynn. There's been quite a few daytime newcomers on the staff - Ashley D. Cook, Emily Culliton, Shannon Peace, Cathy Lepard, Stacey Pulwer. As writers retire, it's nice to see new writers be given a shot. GH does this better than the other soaps.
  7. I like Kraze too. Kate sells it so well with those eyes/those looks she gives. 😍 LOL
  8. I too would love to see MVJ back at GH. But she would have to choose between job security at B&B over possibly just a short term stint back at GH (because we truly don't know how long this Mulcahey/Korte regime will last). Do you like knowing you'll have a job for many years to come, but writing dialogue for crappy stories, or do you want to write scripts for better stories but you might not have that job for long. LOL And yeah, it will be interesting to see if Mulcahey and Korte will be allowed to bring in some of their people as part of their staff.
  9. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be: Patrick Mulcahey is the best script writer in history but sucks at writing storylines. I would hate to see his stellar reputation get tarnished a bit. LOL
  10. I don't know what story ideas he came up at B&B when he was storyline consultant. But I do know he is arguably the best script writer in daytime history.....and I know script writing is much different than head writing. As for Korte, she was Co-HW 20 years ago, so I think it's fair to give her a chance. Plus, remember, JFP was the EP so maybe give Korte a bit of slack? LOL I'm excited for better scripts as well. You just know Patrick will be re-writing/polishing some scripts. Patrick is really good at writing family scenes, the dynamics of a family. I hope he rebuilds the Cassadine family (Nikolas is gone, and Spencer will probably be gone) because he wrote for them so well.
  11. Wow! Patrick Mulcahey is back at GH and gets a shot a writing storylines instead of scripts (I wouldn't be shocked if he occasionally writes scripts). My guess is this is ABC making the move because I don't see Frank coming up with the decision to fire Dan & Chris. I'm a bit sad to see Dan & Chris go because I've enjoyed the majority of their work and they've been the best HWs in daytime these last 4 years or however long they've been HWs of GH. I'm also going to guess they're probably going to stick around as breakdown writers. In any case I'm excited to see what Mulcahey and Korte do.
  12. Ratings for the week January 8-12, 2024
  13. Producers Guild Awards nominations: “American Fiction” (MGM) “Anatomy of a Fall” (Neon) “Barbie” (Warner Bros.) “The Holdovers” (Focus Features) “Killers of the Flower Moon” (Apple Original Films/Paramount Pictures) “Maestro” (Netflix) “Oppenheimer” (Universal Pictures) “Past Lives” (A24) “Poor Things” (Searchlight Pictures) “The Zone of Interest” (A24)
  14. Aw damn. Another DAYS legend gone. RIP Bill.
  15. I'm so glad I didn't read this thread before watching yesterday and today's episode. I had no idea Angela was BJ and that it was the original actress. Wow!! There were two moments where I started crying. The first one was: the scene with Angela/Maxie/Felicia outside of Kelly's.....Felicia tells Angela, "You have really kind eyes. Has anyone ever told you that?" I started crying because I actually thought the actress was Jackie's daughter. LOL. I don't even know if Jackie has a daughter but for some reason (I guess the red hair), I thought she was. (I was close....sort of. LOL). I also thought, "For a non-actress, she's pretty good." LOL And when Felicia told Maxie that she and her kids were her "everything," I noticed Angela was holding back tears. And then she tells Maxie, "You and your mother really have a special bond." "Yeah, she's the best." "I feel the same way about mine." TEARS!! 😭 The second one was: Angela again like she's about to cry......"Anytime.....champ." OMG THAT'S BJ!!??? TEARS! 😭 LOL I've always been a champion of Dan and Chris' work. I just think they do more good than bad, and they are by far miles ahead of Josh Griffith, Ron Carlivati and Brad Bell. There's a reason why I think GH is constantly the best soap year after year since they've taken over. And to learn that bringing Brighton back and having her being the reporter was their idea, just made my opinion of them go even higher. PS. Spoiler free makes soap operas, and anything you watch, so much better. I don't remember the last time I had an OMG moment about a revelation. It reminded me how much I love soaps.
  16. Ratings for the week January 1-5, 2024
  17. Directors Guild Nominations Greta Gerwig (Barbie), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things), Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer), Alexander Payne (The Holdovers), Martin Scorsese (Killers of the Flower Moon).
  18. Y&R - James Harmon Brown first listed as Script Editor on January 9
  19. So I've cut my cable and was wondering if anyone knows any "alternative" ways to watch the show online. I know one place with the word "blog" but they always cut scenes out and never show the end credits. Please PM me.
  20. Ratings for the week December 25-29, 2023
  21. The Hollywood Reporter: Bob Iger Prepares for Ike’s Pirate Ship to Fire at Disney Ike Permutter is a Trump supporter and an alleged racist. I hope he doesn't win this war with Iger.
  22. Casting news belongs in the Spoiler Forum. I noticed the scenes have been longer lately, like the Wendy/Melinda scene last week. But today there was a 5 minute scene with Chad/Julie, and again it was just two characters talking. Soaps need to have more long scenes like this more often.
