Grant in my opinion was Macy’s best pairing  and I enjoyed the couple so much in their short time. I think it was careless to kill off Grant as he had a type of charisma and edge the other male characters on the show didn’t have. I also liked Macy with Deacon but the writing got silly; Amber and Macy having a WWE match in wedding dresses at the wedding, Brooke attempting to get both Deacon & Macy drinking again, Amber holding Little E over a cliffs, failing chandeliers. It was all way too much for something that had started out pretty promising.

    Wholeheartedly agree on all accounts.

Never been a fan of Michael or CLB’s acting mannerisms, but this is a good 30th anniversary retrospective interview

This was a fun read and 30 years IS a major accomplishment. It seems like Michael is a wallflower character for several years now, but he has had some amazing stories and scenes over the years. I thought CLB was at his best during his initial return - being paired with Sandra Nelson’s Phyllis (!!!) and as the most hated lawyer in town going head to head with Victor in 1998 during Dianes divorce.

I remember it as one of my favorite years. There was a lot of pretty dramatic stuff going on - Taylor's return from the dead, Anthony going crazy, Sheila going crazy...

B&B was amazing back then. 1995 had some clunkers like Rick/CJ and the rather lull Fall but spring/summer was MUST SEE TV. People waited years for Sheilas comeuppance and the show delivered: Sheilas suicide (no 1) was the ultimate climax

Somehow I feel it's the same thing happening that happens on screen when the writers forget the show's history. The people currently working at B&B either don't have access to information about the history of the show (even basic stuff like air dates), or they do and just don't care.

I'm still glad they're posting the episodes at all, though!

Maybe the show licensed the library / YouTube page to a service provider and therefore there is a lot less connection to B&B than we think? Or nobody at B&B does have the actual airdate list because nobody did track CBS back then? Or they are just lazy and thrilled to have ironed out everything with licensing to go through with broadcasting on YT? It could be either. LOL

Has anybody else noticed that the airdates on the official Youtube playlist are completely off? They are clearly just making them up.

For example, episode 185 was the Christmas episode and they have it listed as December 7 (which obviously can't have been the intended air date).

And I believe episode 188 was the last one of 1987, and still they seem to keep going in the Season 1 playlist even though Season 2 should probably start with the episode they call December 11 (episode 189).

If they don't know the air dates, why don't they just name the episodes by episode numbers so they can be easily identified?

Airdates are indeed completely off. Seasons start March 23 every year, though…

at least they used to: sometime around 2013 B&B switched to the fall season schedule of CBS. Yawn!

For anyone who likes B&B memorabilia, this is quite the Italian curiosity - a rip of a promo audio tape for the "Beautiful" soundtrack.

Brings back wonderful memories of summer in 1990 in Capri - the end theme (which is the middle track of the 'LatoB' file) is just beautiful and has always given me goosebumps...it's such a melancholic sounding piece. The first track of 'LatoA' is the opening theme to Beautiful.

Thanks for sharing this - I had no idea this existed. Crazy stuff!

Except fot ehextended title music, I thought this was some really generic stuff. It's still mindblowing for me that Italian broadcasters always felt the need to change the music on the soaps - why!?

LOL my thoughts exactly. Wyatt and Flo haven’t even had any story time ever since that ridiculous Y&R crossover back in January what’s the point of them anymore?

For some reason - beyond my wildest imagination - Darrin Brooks has always been super beloved by this show. SO I wouldn't rule out that he is on some sort of paternity leave wth Kelly Kruger giving birth to child no. 2.

B&B actually gave Wyatt and Flo some story witht heir engagement and the proper "Logan" girls reunion in March for Flo and her aunts. This was surprising as it was little drama and moments the show usually skips. However, this couple was never THAT great and both characters are absolutely un-needed.

    I think Clifton looks hot.

It’s long needed change and makes him look more mature. And judging by his his Instagram he is going for a Fitness look (along with his wife) these days and therefore the shorter hair is spot on.

As I’m watching B&B with maaaaaaany months of backlog, I’m not yet ready to worship Sheila on here,  but I saw the photoshopped perfect family photo this week: ROFL!

Brooke only exists to meddle in other people’s affairs.

I really miss the days where she had a career. And I hated Brooke back then (for her slutty ways!), nowadays she is very likable as person, but the character is sooo bland without a proper definition as a working citizen.

All to say, Krista has been working constantly, in a lot of B list projects with a few A list guest shots, for many years, so B&B is a soft landing for her. Tylo is either independently wealthy or totally insane to turn the show down. The relationship has seemed quite acrimonious for a while, but I've long wondered if she was tolerated, rather than valued, ever since she left to go to Melrose Place, sued Aaron Spelling, and returned immediately.

After the contractual hickups from 1999-2002 and Brad Bell's VERY harsh way to show Tylo the door in 2002 - by showing Taylor dead in a coffin for an entire episode - her guest stint in 2004 and the fulltime surprise return in 2005 with no more contract dispute afterwards made it seem like the fences had been mended. Then, Brad axed Taylor in 2013 (?) in a SUPER dumb move as Taylor was paired with Eric and one of the bright spots on the show. Tylo was bitter and only begrundingly returned in later years - until the babyswitch/shooting Bill year which gave her some meaty material and recurring stint which lasted almost 12 months. I thought that Tylo while very rusty at first did okay to very good (scenes with KKL) during her final stint. Too bad, for personal reasons or else Tylo no longer wants to come back to the show...

As for the recast: This will not work out well. PERIOD. Part of Taylor’s appeal was the long history and great chemistry with KKL. With Ridge already being recast it’s just not the same anymore if Taylor is also played by someone else. Especially for a group of characters like Brooke/Ridge/Taylor which has been onscreen for so long. Taylor is needed on the canvas but I don’t think that a recast - especially with Krista Allen who is sweet but unrecognizable - will do the trick.

Donna was pretty active the first 3 years before being made to be support for Brooke.  The actress even said that was the reason she didn't stay on.

During Donna's nude magazine story, Katie had a few meaty scenes...but I agree that the actress could only do so much.  I'd assumed when watching the 1st episodes that a possible story would have been Katie getting a 'ugly duckling' story where she blossomed over time...sadly didn't happen.

The modeling story got pretty good with time and I liked the Rocco/Donna/Nick dynamic. As well as Donna & Bill - dropping this potential did not make mich sense, IMO.

We have almost the whole first summer with Sheila!! Amazing! :D

This is really exciting. In addition of being able to relive those classic moments, we are also getting closer to have a Jason47 style data base for B&B! For instance: just a couple of episodes further and we will have the total number of appearances for such legacy character like Clarke, Margo and Jake (who departed in 1992).

On a related note: I’m almost done with the entire year 1996. Therefore we will soon have the entire cast appearances from 1996-2021…

very soon we will see Macy singing in Bikkini bar ;)

A LOT if I recall correctly. I wasn't too thrilled about Macy's Bikini Bar days, though. Maybe it will be different to watch it as an adult...

They're almost done posting August 1987 and no preemptions for Iran-Contra. They have the show airing every day in July and August so far. I wonder if they are not posting the actual airdates but the planned airdates from ths scripts. That would mean they might jump ahead and have a bunch of "missing days" in September to catch up.

I could totally see that it is the way they have stored these episodes because the log files from the Bill Bell Script Archive which were posted on this board years ago also went by scheduled air dates and not actual air dates…

I'm up to 804 in my rewatch and that's Hunter Tylo's first appearance as "Dr Hayes". The scenes are written as though Caroline and she are familiar, and there's even a hug at the end, even though it's the first time we have witnessed them in a scene together.

I have to wonder since Caroline's doctor Dr Angelo appeared some episodes beforehand, appearing as a long-haired brunette...do we think that the intention was for Dr Angelo to play the future love interest of Ridge, and was re-cast as the new character of Dr Hayes who looked quite similar???

    It kinda looked that way…
