  1. Nicole’s anger and tears are BEYOND annoying and irritating. I was ready to turn off the tv, because every scene with her was filled with screaming and crying. I cannot believe Ron is writing her this way AGAIN.

Victor is truly ridiculous, and it’s past time that Maggie leaves his wrinkled old ass for good. No one would put up with his sh_it. Besides, we’ve seen this all before.

  2. i hate to be mean, but the kid playing Oscar is just awful. I’m not sad because a teenager is dying — I can’t WAIT for him to die. He has no charisma, no presence. He cannot emote.

To me, the actress playing Joss is meh. She’s ok, but I find her lacking in scenes where she’s supposed to play softer and quieter. The Cameron actor is decent, but the writing for him is meh. He’s really being wasted.

The old TJ and Molly were really good together, but I’m not seeing the same from this new TJ. NuValerie is just a completely different character and she doesn’t fit with Kristina at all. I’ve said many times that NuJordan doesn’t work for me. The whole persona spells model more than PC.

Sam’s scenes at DoD were hilarious on Monday’s show. In this digital age, they keep all their records in old file cabinets? With written notations on the backs of photos that NO ONE would ever have a reason to take? Just ridiculous.

  3. I think it’s clear that Eileen left because of wretched Mal Young. I hope she’s back to stay.

The tribute episode is just perfect, and I can’t delete it yet either. I want to watch it again in a couple weeks, even though I’ll cry through the whole thing again. I had to rewind the DVR when I heard the Doug Davidson quote from Pearl Buck. It just broke me in its simplicity and depth.

Y&R showed love to Kristoff with these episodes, but they also showed love to all of us. They really understood how much we loved and cared about Neil Winters and KSJ, and they reminded me why I’ve loved this show for so many decades.

GH films 4-6 weeks ahead so I doubt they did it this week to get viewers away from YR

I know some dont like the story but to go this far and say GHplanned this aganist YR's RL tribute to KSJ is just heartless

Im loving the Oscar story and I feel ripples coming for a long time as it should when someone dies

Youre putting words in my mouth.  I NEVER said GH planned the Oscar death scenes to air against the KSJ tribute. I said it’s UNFORTUNATE that the Oscar stuff is airing at the same time.

Why? Because it looks shallow and minor, and it’s not because the Oscar actor is bad. It’s because KSJ really did die — and that’s impossible to match in importance and sadness and feeling.

If you’d read my post any way but carelessly, you’d understand what I meant.  I’m not a heartless person.

That being said, I don’t like the Oscar story at all. The kid can’t act, and the story is buried in cliches. Awhile back, he needed a lawyer to become emancipated. Then he needed a lawyer to write a will. Then he needed Cameron to video his goodbye. It’s all cliche and it’s all bad.

Ripples coming for a long time? Doubtful. There won’t be any meaningful story generated from his death.

Yeah, the kitchen set feels wasted on Sonny and Carly.

It does feel wasted on those two. I don’t think it fits in with the rest of the house, either. It seems to be a kitchen remodeled without looking at even one room or element in the entire house.

That's not something I would ever say. Ever. I get you're explanation and how it makes you feel. Surely wasn't my intention.

ajsp, please understand that my post was not directed at you or anything you said. I don’t think you’re someone who would say that to me or anyone.

i guess I felt the need to double down on everything I said and to make sure I communicated my point clearly. I’m a white male, but I’m aware of white privilege, and I just want people of color to feel that I do get it, and that I am trying to make things better.

I thought that if I “complained” about the “mediocre white man” comment and said nothing else, I’d look like a stupid, ignorant white man. The result was a post that went on forever.

Again, ajsp, my post was not about you.

  6. I understand the complaints about Cane and the writing for that character, but after awhile it just seems like overkill, especially because it also bled into personal attacks on Daniel Goddard by some people.

DG isn’t my favorite actor and Cane isn’t one of my favorites, either, but DG is not a bad guy. His open grief for Kristoff seems authentic to me, and I do think they were close. If KSJ was good friends with DG, then Goddard must be all right.

Does he self-promote on social media? Yeah. So what. He has a family to support and he likes his job. Daytime roles are hard to snag, so I don’t  blame Goddard for trying to hold on to his. I don’t think there’s a mean bone in that guy’s body, and seeing some of the ugly comments about him makes me cringe.

Re: racist comments. I DON’T think it’s racist to comment about the writing for Cane as a lead in stories about a black family.  I do, however, think it’s a little indelicate to label him a “mediocre white man” more than once. It’s not what is said, but how it’s said.

When I read that black characters should be leads in black families and stories, I react positively. When “instead of mediocre white men” is included? It doesn’t register the same way. I nod my head and agree with everything said about black characters not getting good stories or enough airtime, and about the lack of minorities BTS and on writing staffs. I agree with it all, only to read “mediocre white man.”

Is Cane a mediocre white man? Yeah. Not the point. No, you don’t have to care about my feelings and reaction. The thing is, you don’t have to throw shade, either.

Please don’t lecture me with “Now you know what black people experience every day.” That doesn’t make it ok for minorities to take the same low road.  I hope I’m not miscommunicating my point. I really do think racism is a huge problem in this country. It’s horrific, and I cannot imagine what people of color go through every day. I cannot imagine the worry of raising children in families of color.

i just like to think we’re better than that here. I like to think we can be respectful of each other.

  7. Just an outstanding tribute to KSJ in every respect.

The Wednesday and Thursday U.S. episodes had me in tears from beginning to end. The writing was on point — those writers know Neil and they knew Kristoff — and the actors delivered with so much heart and love.

Who broke me? Christel. And Bryton. And Shemar. And Eric Braeden. And Eileen. Just beautiful work from them and everyone else.

Even Daniel Goddard was moving. I think the writers gave him a speech because he was close with a Kristoff, and I really respect a decision like that. CBS and Sony have shown the fans a lot of love with this tribute to someone we all cared for so much. I really think they deserve our thanks for all of this.

Has it all been perfect? Nothing is, but in the spirit of it all, I won’t mention any little thing, and I won’t refute some of the nitpicking I’ve seen here. Honestly, it’s all been better than I ever imagined it could be, even though it’s heartbreaking.

This week has reminded me why I have loved Y&R for decades.

Well she was probably in an unhappy marriage for a while, so it makes sense that she would want to flaunt her joyfulness. I don't like Peter, but I don't care what makes the actors happy in their personal lives.

I never understood the vitriol directed at Wes Ramsey. Maybe all the Laura Wright haters decided to hate her bf twice as hard. It’s absurd.

is Peter a good character? Not really, but WR sure doesn’t deserve the attacks he gets. And if LW is getting  it regularly from Ramsey, more power to her.

  9. Well, I’ll again be the voice of disagreement on today’s show. I thought it was really strong— good, different storylines that were paced nicely leading to an emotional tableau close.

Hunter King was great with really solid dialogue in her scenes with Kyle, and the Victoria scenes with Billy brought Victor back into Genoa City. The rest was a solid intro for Society, with a lot of extras making it all look real.

The last few minutes of the show were powerful. Just really solid moments that were so respectful of KSJ and his legacy as Neil Winters.

    Classic Y&R.

  10. I don’t get what’s cringy about Sharon and Rey. They’re two great looking people who have sex. Cringy is Sharon with Victor.

Dina definitely needs to be rescued. And honestly, when we see young Dina, we should see the manipulative mean cold bit_ch that she was, not some pretty soft version.

Josh Griffith needs a co-head writer. I’m glad Mal is gone, but I see warning signs. Today’s show didn’t work for me at all. The restaurant stuff was bad, and the Cane/Lily conversation didn’t resonate, either.

  11. — Another Genoa City restaurant with tiny tables that could never hold a full course meal for 2 people.

    — That kitchen area off the main restaurant room: what the hell is that? It’s cramped and ridiculous. Maybe Abby should scream about that instead of yelling at Marco.

    — Lola opens boxes of food in the dining area? Ok. Meanwhile, Tessa — who’s had 42 jobs in town — tries to calm her. I’m glad Lola’s makeup and lipstick are perfect, though.

    — Society holds a half dozen tables only, yet the entranceway is long and spacious with a red carpet. Uh...ok.

    — No food, electrical problems, fire alarms, no crowd, blah blah blah. Haven’t we seen these “everything goes wrong” stories a million times???

I'm still disappointed that they gave Dina Alzheimer's. While I applaud exploring such a serious story, she added some great conflict to the show with the relationship with her children and sort of took some of the place that Katherine left behind after her passing. But now she's completely out of the story for the most part. That and Marla Adams was really knocking it out of the park when she returned.

For a minute I was hoping the writers were bringing back Dina to some normalcy in that scene with Jack. Instead it was an excuse for a Jack to AGAIN yell at Dina and reflect on his pathetic life.

The scene in Jack’s office where he dreamed of talking with young Dina was just an Emmy bait scene for PB. I think Jack should frickin grow up. A 65 year old man should have long ago stopped asking “Why’d you do me wrong, ma?”

  13. Some of the writing is just awful.

    — Cane can step down as Chancellor CEO just like that? No transition, no looking for a new leader, no nothing? This show pretends to care about business stories. This is a fail.

    — Jack’s argument with Dina was RIDICULOUS. For MONTHS she’s been out of it, and in one conversation, Hack is back to SCREAMING at her. Just a pathetic writing decision so Jack could AGAIN reflect on his life.  The discussion with Traci was no better.

    — I didn’t like Tessa’s song. Would I want to hear it again let alone buy it? No.

    — Mariah closed Crimson Lights early so that Tessa could play her guitar and sing for an audience of one? Yeah, that makes sense. Who cares if a customer shows up and sees the plac3 is closed, out of the blue.

    P. S.  All of a sudden the twins are in favor of a divorce??? Huh???

  14. It is nice to have Victor’s office back, although I did notice that Victoria’s house underwent ANOTHER renovation. Sorry, that place now looks cramped and isn’t worthy of an heiress.

Tony Marina has improved the show’s look, but little things get to me — like all the green in the park scenes with Traci and Cane. It’s frickin WISCONSIN, and they’re pushing it.

Speaking of Traci and Cane, please tell me those two aren’t going to have a romance. I love Beth Maitland, but that’s just not believable.

  15. I know a lot of people cheered when Sally and Kay were fired, but I wasn’t one of them. I loved so much of what Sally brought back to the show, and while I did feel the need for more pop on occasion, that could have been accomplished without canning her.

Intead we got Mal, not only as HW, but as EP — too much for one person to do and too much power in one person’s hands. Any good that he did was SURROUNDED by and SUFFOCATED by his mess.

YES! He literally said on twitter that Cynthia was going to continue Nina's LEGACY. Seriously like WTF??

Frank and GH have closed ears when it comes to fans. NO ONE at GH listens or cares. Nina is a hated character. Does Frank care? No.

NO ONE at GH thinks Maxie has chemistry with Peter. Does Frank care? No.

The same goes for whether Oscar lives or dies, Sonny and Jason saving everyone, and a dozen more things.

  17. I’m seeing things that bother me, too — stuff I didn’t expect from a new writer stepping in.

Why was that P.I. that Phyllis hired using the biggest camera ever? Why didn’t anyone else notice it?

Why was Summer running all over town looking for Kyle? She eventually tried calling him, but she ran around for a long time before texting or phoning him.

Why was Summer going away on a vacation so soon after missing work for her transplant? Didn’t Victor have trouble with her planned honeymoon?

Why did Lola leave Kyle’s bed at the GCAC and go to the coffee shop by herself?

With Jabot in such disarray, why was Billy in Vegas? Why has Kyle done nothing but arrange transplants and sex meetings with Lola?

Why did Jack act like he won some huge business battle with Ashley and smile like a Cheshire cat? Ashley got $4M out of the idiot.

Why are we getting a COMPLETELY different explanation for Lola’s virginity? Even if we buy it, why is she so blasé about Summer, who just gave her a frickin organ?

What was the point of the montage with shirtless bored Nick with the dad bod?

    Do better, Josh Griffith.
