  1. I took it as she auditioned for movies knowing she was leaving Days, and probably knowing the start dates for the movies would be after her Days contract ended, so I don't think the Convicted movie had anything to do with her Days contract, just that she booked it as she was exiting Days.
  2. Just looked it up. Here you go!
  3. Here's a contract of Susan Seaforth's for an appearance on GH in 1964:
  4. Glad you enjoyed! The slashes in each column represent the actors who are there to rehearse the next day's episode. The X's (which I still use in my monthly cast charts) are the actors who actually tape and appear in that day's episode.
  5. Here's the end of a 13-week cycle (the episodes airing from 9/27/71-12/24/71): At this point, Denise was guaranteed just 20 episodes over this 13 week cycle. But she worked 28. Bill Bell would famously overwork people, regardless of their guarantees. In this cycle, for instance, Ed Mallory was only guaranteed 20 episodes as well, but he worked 41 episodes, more than twice his average guarantee! Mac had the best agent. His guarantee of 40 episodes over 13 weeks was double anyone else in the cast. The rest of the cast was guaranteed 20 episodes over this 13-week cycle, except for Susan Seaforth, who only had a 1-per-week guarantee at the time (13 episodes for 13 weeks). Here's a standard AFTRA contract for "Days" for a U/5 appearance in 1991. At the bottom, it lists the payments for each time the episode is repeated, or aired in other countries:
  6. FROM THE VAULT: 50 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK: PRODUCTION CAST CHART: FEBRUARY 1-FEBRUARY 5, 1971:
  7. I've been told different amounts by different people in the industry. I think something as simple as "Happy Birthday" (up until recently not in the public domain) was around $25.000 for one use. Most other songs could be around $50.000. I think it was around that for Bill & Susan Hayes to be able to sing "Always" (Tom & Alice's song) at the Horton Town Square dedication ceremony in 2011. Now, those are the prices for a first-time airing. I don't know how much it decreases to be able to use it again in a second (repeat or online) airing.
  8. Based on aired cast lists/production paperwork, Robert Alda got a special end credit for his brief time on Days as well.
  9. I never heard background music cues as being the problem. I've only heard it was the popular music being the problem. Bill Hayes, Kaye Stevens, etc... sang many popular songs on Days at Doug's Place in the 1970's, and then Days started using tons of popular music in the 1980's, songs that would cost too much to use for a second time today.
  10. DAILY CAST CHART: Review each day's cast list from January 2021 at http://www.jason47.com/days/castcharts2021.html January Episode Rankings. 11. Here's Stefano's first scenes from the script I typed up a few years back: http://www.jason47.com/days/script1982.html
  12. She was listed in a contract position on one piece of production paperwork, so it's either an error, or they changed plans and dropped her.
  13. 55 YEARS OF MONTHLY APPEARANCE STATS RELEASED! For "Days" stats fans, just released is every actor's monthly appearance stats. So, if you are curious about how many episodes someone appeared in during a specific month/year, all those stats are now at your fingertips! This data is only updated once a year, so the next update will be posted in January 2022. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-monthly-appearance-stats-t42662.html
  14. I hadn't seen that. I'll check it out, but I've been posting the exclusive close-ups the show sent me on my FB page for the last 5 years or so. As for Dee, if the numbers hold this week, the character Steve (109 episodes) will actually beat Marlena (108 episodes) for the most appearing character. So, Dee is finally # 1 herself (when you include the Hattie episodes, in which she appeared in a few as Hattie only), but Marlena the character will be just 1 episode shy of leading this year.
  15. Trying again: DEIDRE HALL LEADS YEARLY "DAYS" RANKINGS FOR FIRST TIME... Deidre Hall (Marlena) is the yearly episode leader in 2020, the first time she has ever led the "Days" episode rankings. Her previous high in the rankings was 2nd place in 1981, 1982 and 1983.
  16. You're welcome! I don't know if my browser is acting up, but the 6 photos of the tree I posted above don't show in my browser today. Were you (are you still) able to see them?
  17. Just got these Horton Christmas tree photos in the last hour. Thanks Days!
  18. "DAYS" CHRISTMAS 1973... For the first time online, take a look back at Christmas 1973 on "Days of Our Lives." Read about everything that happened, including Alice hoping for a missing Mickey to return home to Salem, and Doug buying a train set in case the pregnant Addie gives birth to a boy. http://www.jason47.com/days/christmas1973.html All of the "Days" Christmas episode scripts are now available from 1965-1973, so if you've missed reading any of the others, they are all available at http://www.jason47.com/days/dayschristmashistory.html
  19. Found out this fun fact today which I don't remember hearing before: Jack Coleman (Jake Kositchek) is the 6times-great-grandson of Benjamin Franklin.
  20. The entire Days archive is preserved as far as I know from the original NBC masters.
  21. I thought I had them somewhere. A quick check of my index page found this! http://www.jason47.com/days/archives1968.html http://www.jason47.com/days/memos1969.html
  22. Here are John Lupton's monthly stats: 7/67: 6 8/67: 5 9/67: 4 10/67: 4 11/67: 10 12/67: 11 1/68: 13 2/68: 18 3/68: 14 4/68: 14 5/68: 11 6/68: 11 7/68: 14 8/68: 5 9/68: 8 10/68: 11 11/68: 12 12/68: 7 1/69: 12 2/69: 4 3/69: 7 4/69: 4 5/69: 5 6/69: 8 7/69: 10 8/69: 8 9/69: 8 10/69: 10 11/69: 11 12/69: 8 1/70: 5 2/70: 5 3/70: 5 6/70: 9 7/70: 4 8/70: 6 9/70: 4 10/70: 1 11/70: 2 1/71: 2 2/71: 1 4/71: 3 5/71: 1 12/71: 1 5/72: 2 7/72: 1 5/73: 2 10/75: 4 11/75: 3 12/75: 5 1/76: 2 2/76: 5 3/76: 2 4/76: 2 5/76: 2 6/76: 3 7/76: 1 8/76: 1 10/76: 3 3/77: 2 4/77: 6 5/77: 3 6/77: 6 7/77: 2 8/77: 4 9/77: 4 10/77: 3 11/77: 2 1/78: 1 4/78: 2 12/78: 1 5/79: 1 7/79: 1 9/79: 3 3/80: 1 So, June 1970 was his last "big month" with 9 episodes. After June 1970, he never appeared in more than 6 episodes in a month, which makes sense, because production records confirm his contract ended in March 1970 episodes, so he only recurred for the next decade.
  23. Fun Fact: From some of the production paperwork I have from that time frame, he was known and credited as Conrad Dunn back in 1981 too.
  24. Does anyone watch Judge Judy? I just saw an episode from earlier this week about a woman suing a tanning salon for not returning her stuff. She looked familiar and the name sounded just a little familiar. Then I realized that plaintiff Joyette Erspamer is actually Jacee Jule's real name. So, if anyone watched Judge Judy earlier this week, that was Salem's own Patty the Salem Place waitress (and Frances Reid's long-time assistant). Judge Judy was mad that she was asking for two towels back from the new owners of the salon. She needed to sue the former owner of the salon.
  25. "DAYS" CHRISTMAS 1967 VIDEO CLIP PROVIDES FIRST GLIMPSE OF EARLY (AND POSSIBLE) ORIGINAL HORTON ORNAMENTS... With "Days" positing a video clip from the 1967 Christmas episode, there is now confirmation that none of the early Horton ornaments survived into the 1970's. These ornaments were either all thrown out or not expected to be used again after 1967. There is no mention of the named ornaments in 1968 scripts, but they are mentioned again in 1969 scripts (which might be the episode where some of the more well-known versions of the ornaments that were donated to the Smithsonian first made their debut). The 1967 ornaments were all silver balls. "Days" did mention named ornaments in 1966 scripts, which could be the same ones used in 1967, but until a video clip of the 1966 Christmas episode is provided, there will not be confirmation if these truly are the original Horton ornaments.
