  1. FROM THE VAULT: 45 YEARS AGO: MARLENA'S SEVENTH EPISODE: SLOW DOWN, DON!

    # 2677 (7/5/76):

Don and Marlena come to Don's apartment after being at Doug's Place. They have some light fun as they try to get to know each other better, Don somewhat surprised at his attraction to Marlena. She is the only girl, other than Julie, who has really interested him in years. However, Marlena informs him he is coming on much too fast. As she heads for the bathroom, Julie arrives at Don's door. He is surprised and embarrassed to see Julie, knowing that Marlena is in the other room and should be right out. Julie needs a friendly shoulder to lean on. She can't face going to the Justice of the Peace's office. Don is shocked until Julie says that she and Doug and going with Robert and Rebecca, who will be married tonight. Then Julie's eyes light on Marlena's shoes, and Julie apologizes for interrupting Don's evening. After Julie leaves, Marlena very definitely tells Don she doesn't intend to be used to make Julie jealous by his pretending she and Don had a thing going.

Doug confronts Kim about her not owning an island, only a cottage. Kim expresses her surprise that Don told Doug because the lawyer loves Julie, with Doug saying not everyone operates the same way she does. Doug wants to know what else she has lied about. He's had it. He's going to Chicago to check whether she did really get a divorce or not. Meanwhile, Robert gives Rebecca a bridal bouquet, both aware that it won't be much of a wedding, but Robert says his love for her will be enough for both of them, he hopes. Julie and Doug arrive with Robert and Rebecca at the Justice of the Peace, and it is a bleak little office. The ceremony is routine and uninspired, but they exchange rings and are married. All four try to pretend things are not as drab as they seem. Later, in the family room at Doug's Place, the wedding party foursome try to pretend that all was wonderful. Finally, Rebecca says she's tired and goes to bed, with Robert saying he'll take a walk until Rebecca is asleep. After he leaves, Julie breaks down, devastated for Robert. Pretty rough way to start a honeymoon, Doug says. The relationship between Robert and Rebecca is something they can do nothing about.

Mike drops by Trish's on the pretext on thinking he left something there, but he is really there because he worries about Jack Clayton coming by, after having seen the man drunk at Doug's Place. As Doug's Place is closing, Stanhope and Jeri are still there talking. Jim says he's going to check Jeri into a room at his hotel. He's worried about Jack and thinks she shouldn't go back to him tonight. She can stay at the hotel until she finds a place of her own. Trish and Mike almost reach a new beginning when Brooke comes in. Mike says her timing is just great and slams out of the place. Brooke is upset that she interrupted, with Trish pretending she's glad she did. She doesn't need the scene of Mike trying to prove himself sexually with her. Brooke reminds her that if Trish doesn't try to help Mike, some other woman will. Later, Linda greets a subdued Mike who tells her he still hasn't found an apartment he can afford. Linda says he can stay at her place another night. Mike admits to Linda that he may have gone by Trish's with the idea of trying to be a man with her. Linda comforts him, telling him he'll find his manhood again when he finds love again. He loves Mickey and she hopes Mike will go visit him with her tomorrow. Jim brings Jeri to her hotel room, but he is a bit nervous. He wonders if she is worried about Jack, but she covers. After he leaves, she dials Trish and tells her if Jack comes around to keep the door locked and not to tell him where she is.

Did Bart and Peter Blake ever interact? Tried asking Steve Blackwood (Bart) but he doesn't know.

Bart arrived in 1997 and Peter Blake was on Days until 1998.  I can't seem to find any evidence they ever interacted.

I just checked the records. They only overlapped from November 1997-February 1998. And in those 4 months, they only appeared in 5 of the same episodes, so these would be the only possible episodes they could have interacted:

  3. FROM THE VAULT: 45 YEARS AGO: MARLENA'S SIXTH EPISODE: IS MARLENA INTERESTED IN DON?

    211523708_2142485995893663_2039342720562

    # 2676 (7/2/76):

In the powder room at Doug's Place, Trish tells Julie how wonderful it feels, to sing for her father and mother, tells her about Stanhope going to Jack's apartment, getting her out of a bad situation. Jack arrives at the bar, sees Jeri and Stanhope discuss his coming to Salem, what he plans to do. Marlena has gone to check her answering service. Julie joins Don. He tells her there are vibes with Marlena, maybe he's finally off the hook with her. He also tells her she should grow up: go after Doug. Julie says she wants to, but is not sure she can convince Doug she'll try to be a mother to Hope. In the family room, Doug, Rebecca and Robert discuss their plans for living together when the wedding is over. When Rebecca asks about Julie, Doug will only say it's now up to her. Marlena returns, has a few words with Julie, who then leaves. Marlena questions Don about Julie. We wonder if Marlena is getting interested in Don.

Trish dedicates a song to her father, and Stanhope is touched. Jack is touched, too, but in the wrong kind of way. He stops Jeri on her way to the powder room, starts to give her a bad time, but Doug steps in, threatens to throw him out. Trish and Stanhope discuss what his coming to Salem has meant to her. Mike enters, has another battle with Brooke, which is partially overheard by Jack, who misreads everything, getting the wrong impression. When Brooke goes back to work, Jack and Mike tangle. Jack threatens to teach both Trish and Jeri a lesson. Trish comes to the bar, is surprised to see Jack there, but he is very nice, leaves, and Trish and Mike are by themselves. Mike is still uptight about many things, especially that Trish told Brooke of his failure to perform. She apologizes, saying she needed someone, but knows once again she's hurt Mike badly.

Julie comes out of Hope's bedroom, Rebecca lays it on the line, says she has to stop this nonsense if she doesn't want to lose Doug, she can be a mother to Hope, but she has to make more of an effort. Doug approaches Trish and Mike and she asks for the rest of the night off, she's on an emotional binge, needs to be alone. Doug questions Mike when Trish leaves. Mike snaps that he and Trish have split and walks out. Don tells Doug about Kim not inheriting an island, letting him know if she lied about this, she could be lying about a few other things. If Doug wants Julie, he had better do something about it. Doug answers, saying it's his business and he's not about to apologize for his past. Trish goes home, unaware Jack is hovering outside in the corridor. As she undresses, the doorknob turns and twists.

  5. FROM THE VAULT: 45 YEARS AGO: MARLENA'S FIFTH EPISODE: MARLENA & DON'S DATE NEARS...

    210700273_2140870532721876_2789668002742

    # 2674 (6/30/76):

At Doug's Place, Bill finds a heartbroken Doug who tells him about his situation with Kim and Julie. Bill tries to cheer him up, but he's too wrapped up in his own troubles with Mike and Laura. Mike is busily at work at the garage where he's gotten his old job back when Brooke shows up to talk to Mike on Trish's behalf. Alone at her apartment, Trish can't keep her mind off Mike. Bill goes to Trish to ask her about Mike and learns that Mike has moved out, but not why. Trish gives him a number where Mike can be reached in case of an emergency. At the coffee shop over coffee, Brooke only succeeds in alienating Mike further. Mike walks out on her, telling her to mind her own business after Brooke tells him she knows about his not being able to make it sexually with Trish.

Marlena drops in on Linda, who's at home on her day off. They discuss Mickey and his treatment as an outpatient, also his love for Mike. Later, Bill confronts Linda about Mike, wanting to know where the boy is and why he is staying at her apartment. She tells him that if he and Laura really cared about Mike, they wouldn't have waited so long to tell him the truth. She says Mike is falling apart emotionally and is even questioning his own manhood. Brooke tells a dismal Trish that she botched things with Mike, but she only meant to help. Mike and Bill have a confrontation at the garage. Bill tells Mike that Laura is on the verge of a nervous collapse.

At Don's office, Kim tells Julie that Doug thought he had been divorced from her when he married Addie and that she is leaving Salem and will get a quick divorce because she knows she can't win back Doug's love. Don interrupts with some filing for Julie, and he and Kim go into his office to discuss her divorce. Don confronts Kim with that fact that there is no island, only a cottage, and that Kim knew exactly what she was doing when she picked him for her attorney. But it won't work this time. Doug is serious about marrying Julie. Don asks Julie to take a letter, which he dictates. It is to Brent Douglas at Doug's Place, and he says that his client misrepresented some information to him. Brent Douglas does not own half or any part of a Polynesian island. Julie excitedly tells Don she will run the information right over to Doug, to which he agrees. They both know she could never type the letter correctly anyway. They'll close the office because he has a date with Marlena Evans, and Julie wishes him luck with the lady psychiatrist just as Marlena walks in. At Doug's Place, Julie arrives to ask if Doug is available...for a lifetime.

  6. FROM THE VAULT: 45 YEARS AGO: MARLENA'S FOURTH EPISODE: MARLENA MEETS TOM & JULIE!

    # 2672 (6/28/76):

Julie is working on Sharon's portrait, tells her Amanda is better and wants to go see her. Sharon says they should cut the sitting short anyway, her husband, Karl, is coming back today from his hunt for rare tropical plants in South America. Meanwhile, Don and Marlena have lunch at Doug's Place. Marlena asks Don to visit Mickey more often, seek out his advice as a lawyer, renew confidence in himself again. Don questions her personal life, finds out she's single. Mary and Bob are also having lunch, and when Mary sees Don's interest in Marlena, Bob tells her she must see other men. But no one compares to Don, she says. Brooke comes by and Bob tells her Adele pretended she was seeing another doctor, but caught her in a lie when she said she had just come from her first visit. A doctor couldn't give her a clean bill of health on a first visit. He wouldn't have the lab tests back. Brooke says that in a way she's glad her mother made it up, because if she had really gone to another doctor, it would mean only one thing: that she's feeling a lot worse than she let on. Don runs into Sharon at Doug's Place, is a bit curious and thrown by this rather strange lady.

Amanda is discouraged about her progress in speech therapy when Neil comes to visit. He works with her through the therapy "word cards" and finally she is able to say a word. Delighted, he also tells her she'll be able to go home soon and keep up her therapy as an outpatient, and that her bandages will come off tomorrow. Amanda clasps her head in devastation, turns away from him, tears in her eyes, and Neil is at a total loss to understand her reaction, thinks she is fearful of leaving the protection of the hospital, fears facing the outside world. Julie runs into Neil outside Amanda's room and realizes, as a woman, that what is bothering Amanda is that she'll have to leave tomorrow without a wig. But Julie, to the rescue, has the wig box with her. She goes in to see Amanda, who is thrilled and grateful that Julie remembered and got there in time with the wig. But Julie is devastated when Amanda tries to ask with the word cards and her slate if there is a man in her life. Later, Julie tells Tom about Amanda's questions. Tom says it's up to Neil and Greg to make the decision just how much Amanda should be told. Don and Marlena arrive, meet Tom and Julie. Tom and Marlena go off for their appointment and when Julie tells Don about Amanda, he says perhaps he'd better hold off seeing her right now. As her attorney, he'd be expected to tell Amanda things that should only come from Neil and Greg. Tom sees a forceful woman in Marlena, but they like each other immediately. She tells him she wants Mickey to spend time away from the sanitarium, increasing the time away as they go along, get the man out in the world again. Tom is impressed with this girl who pulls no punches. When Marlena leaves, and Neil comes in to answer Tom's call, Tom tells him that Amanda is asking about any man in her life. Tom says Neil and Greg must talk it over. Could Neil step aside so that Amanda could have Greg, a man who loves her, and is unmarried. Neil is deeply torn. Tom makes some strong points as to what it could do to Amanda to discover she's in love with a married man.

Mary comes to the boutique to take over for Phyllis while she goes to lunch with Neil. Don enters and asks Mary what kind of a gag gift he can get for a lady who must eat crow. Mary is shaken by his interest in the girl she saw him have lunch with. Neil and Phyllis have lunch. He tells her what is happening with Amanda and asks what he should do. Phyllis says she can't ask her husband to pretend he's only Amanda's doctor. It's up to him. Neil admires Phyl in her attempt to understand, speaks of how far they've come in their marriage, how good it fells that he can talk about something like this so openly with her. Phyl, touched and in tears, escapes to the powder room, and Brooke comes over and asks Neil why he hasn't sent any bill for her mother. Neil tells a startled Brooke that Adele has been seeing Tom Horton. Brooke is deeply shaken, knowing in her heart that it means her mother is feeling worse than she's letting on.

New Day. Morning. Mike awakens in Linda's living room, having spent the night on the sofa. Linda comes out in a robe, to say breakfast is ready. The doorbell rings, it's Don with some legal papers for Linda. Mike is embarrassed but Linda accepts the situation calmly. Mike is ready to leave to look for an apartment. He hopes he hasn't fouled up things with her boss. Linda doesn't worry about her reputation which is bad anyway, and Mike shouldn't concern himself either. He says he wouldn't have made it without her last night. She tells him she'll always be here for him whenever he needs her. When Linda comes to work, Don asks her if she doesn't think Mike's a little young for her. Linda flares at him. It was an innocent evening but she doesn't care whether he believes it or not. Marlena Evans comes in, in the middle of their quarrel. Don goes into his office after lashing out at Marlena. Linda tells Marlena that she's been in love with Mickey for years and even tried to make him believe her daughter was his. When Marlena questions, Linda says this office couldn't stay open if it weren't for Don.

Jeri brings a very reluctant James Stanhope to see Trish. He admits he could be Trish's father but he doesn't care. His wife and daughter, Ginny, know the truth and now his life is ruined. Trish turns on Jeri for having gone to Mrs. Stanhope even though it was Stanhope himself who inadvertently blurted out the truth. Broken-hearted at the way things have turned out, Trish slams into the bathroom. Jeri tells Stanhope she's sorry she destroyed his world, but he destroyed hers years ago. Stanhope has gone when Trish comes out of the bathroom, ready to go to rehearsal. She and Jeri quarrel bitterly over the Stanhope situation. In the midst of it, Mike arrives, wanting to talk to Trish. She says she's fresh out of words and leaves. Jeri tells Mike what has happened and he says poor Trish has had it from all of them. At Doug's Place, Trish is looking over some music when Stanhope appears to tell her at least she knows now he could be her father, so her mother is not a liar. But he can't do any more for her. He leaves and Trish rehearses, singing a song that touches her own life, tears her to pieces. Jeri enters while Trish is singing, her heart breaking for her daughter. After the song, Trish goes to her mother, apologizes for turning on her. There is an emotional scene as they go into each other's arms.

Alice comes to the hospital to see Amanda. She talks about religious faith and the help found in the belief in God. Marlena goes to see Maggie at the Horton home to talk about Mickey. Maggie reacts to Marlena's youth and beauty. Marlena assures her she knows her job. Mike appears. Maggie leaves them alone. At first, Mike is antagonistic to Marlena because she is a woman psychiatrist, but Marlena wins his confidence when she says she wants to make Mickey ready for outpatient therapy as soon as possible. Mike says he'll get an apartment today so his Dad can spend time with him, and he'll get a job to pay for the apartment. Alice comes home. Mike leaves. Marlena and Alice talk about Mickey's condition and Mike's need for his father. Don goes to the hospital to introduce himself to Amanda, and to bring her a candy clown which makes her smile. Later, in Don's office, Marlena comes to apologize for being suspicious of him. They end up with Don asking her to have lunch with him, and Marlena accepts.

Marlena listens calmly, trying to help. Marlena emerges from Mickey's room, finds an irate Don, who has been told he can not see Mickey without a Miss Evans' permission. Marlena introduces herself, but things are off to a bad start. Don says he will go to Powell. Don comes back from Powell's office, raging. Marlena is waiting. He sarcastically asks if she will take the papers to Mickey that require signing. Marlena says of course, leaving a very uptight Don. Don and Marlena have a conversation, Don cooled down somewhat, as he begins to understand this is a very sharp lady, he is forced to grudging respect. They discuss Mickey, his need for Mike.

He blames everyone, including himself, slams out, leaving a devastated Trish. Trish tries to call her mother, but there is no answer in Jeri's hotel room. Mike arrives at Linda's apartment saying he needs to talk to someone. She invites him in. Mike breaks down, confesses what happened between him and Trish. Meanwhile, Trish has called Brooke, tells her what happened. A very gentle Brooke tries to help, explaining these things happen, and it's harder on the boy. Jeri arrives at the Stanhope home, introduces herself to Kay. She has every intention of telling Kay the truth, but it's difficult, and when Ginny arrives home, impossible. Jeri leaves the Stanhope home, knowing she didn't accomplish her mission, but knowing she couldn't, even if it means losing Trish. Jeri returns to her hotel room, has a message to call Trish. Stanhope comes home, learns Jeri has been there, panics. And after Ginny goes to bed, he tips his own mitt, not aware Jeri left without saying a word. Kay is stunned, but Stanhope has blasted himself.

I was reading this on @will81 Tumblr Soaps of Yesteryear from April 1985

I know that Micky and Maggie were remarried in a double ceremony with Pete and Melissa.  In the April 1985 plot summaries Melissa just found out that Ivy was pregnant with Pete's baby.  So, when did Maggie return?  Was she gone the entire time that Linda/Madame X was in town?  And how quickly did she reunite with MIcky?  Or, did she leave after the double wedding?

She left in October 1984 and returned in August 1985. Here's her monthly stats up until the wedding month of Feb. 1986. So she was only in around 30 episodes between her return and the double wedding.

    10/84: 1
    8/85: 3
    9/85: 2
    10/85: 4
    11/85: 4
    12/85: 7
    1/86: 8
    2/86: 9

Maggie last aired 10/1/84, so she was around for Elaine Princi's first 17 episodes in August-September 1984 and her final two episodes in September & November 1985 (checking the cast charts, Maggie appeared in those final 2 episodes of Linda's).

I couldn't find the post, but someone at another reliable board said Carson said on his Insta that mid-August will be his first airdate, which would line-up more with just after the Olympics break.

    Thanks Jason for sharing that.

9 sets seems a lot and not typical for that time. Wonder how  that worked?

I thought there was only room for a certain number of sets onstage at a time and they didn't like too many one off sets or daily changes as that meant extra expense erecting them etc

Seems like 6 was about the average for the remainder of the month. The following day had 8 sets.

  14. FROM THE VAULT: 45 YEARS AGO: JUNE 4, 1976: JULIE LEARNS THAT DOUG IS BRENT DOUGLAS!

    189105415_2120975028044760_1210109892821

Episode # 2656: Robert is a bit uptight with Doug when a messenger brings a special delivery letter to Doug's Place for Brent Douglas. Julie, of course, does not react, not yet knowing that Doug himself is the Brent Douglas from whom Kim is seeking a divorce. Kim walks into the scene and is a bit shaken, but covers when she sees Julie's flashy diamond engagement ring. Don is delighted to bring Doug the news that he and Kim have inherited a Polynesian island from Kim's mother. Knowing Julie is still in the dark, Don enjoys every minute of watching Doug squirm. Doug splits to get Kim, who is being consoled in the bar area by Robert. Doug is in a near state of shock when he hears from Kim that if they divorce prematurely, both of them will lose out on the inheritance, something she definitely does not intend to have happen. Realizing he's got to level with Julie now or else, he slams out of the bar area, leaving Kim and Don in their glory. Julie is absolutely staggered to hear the truth from Doug, that he is Brent Douglas and he is still legally married to Kim. Doug stands in state of shock as Julie returns his engagement ring and walks out. Robert walks in as she exits and realizing, stops Doug from going after her. He knows she needs time alone. Meanwhile, Don and Julie arrive at his apartment where he tries to comfort her when she breaks. Don suggests they go out for the evening to take her mind off her problems. Julie agrees although saying she wants to see Amanda first, but Don tells her there is nothing they can do for Amanda right now. Neil told him to tell Julie that Amanda will need all her friends later on, when she comes to. Kim arrives back at Doug's family room to find Robert. She tries to explain that she really does love Doug, but she will get a divorce as quickly as possible after the estate is settled. Robert reminds her that love means never giving pain intentionally, and she says maybe she is not capable of that kind of love, but she does love Doug as much as possible as she is capable of anyone but herself. At this point, Doug enters from the bar area, and Robert decides it is time for him to disappear. Doug is totally devastated and lets Kim know how he feels; and although Kim says that Julie will be back as soon as her anger is gone, Doug replies it will never be the same between them, even if she does. (Jason47 note: Things eventually work out, and Doug and Julie get married 4 months later on October 1, 1976. Hope you've all enjoyed this week-long look-back into the "Days" vault!!).

Episode # 2655: Doug goes to a chic jewelry shop to buy Julie a diamond ring. Meanwhile, Julie questions Don about Kim's legal papers she just put in the filing cabinet. She's surprised to learn that Kim is married and filing for divorce from a man named Brent Douglas who is a friend of Doug's. Doug returns home and happily shows Robert the ring he bought for Julie. Linda arrives with divorce papers for Brent Douglas. Kim told Don that Doug knows where Brent is and will get the papers to him. Doug and Robert are stunned. After Linda leaves, Doug confesses to Robert that he is Brent Douglas and that Kim told him she never got their final divorce. There are many things about his past that Julie doesn't know. Robert warns him he better tell her fast. Julie comes in then and tells the two men about the information she found out about Kim while she was filing papers in Don's office. Did Doug know Kim was married? Doug is saved from answering when Kim and Hope come in from the back yard. Hope throws another bomb by asking Doug if Kim can be her new Mommy when Rebecca gets married. Doug talks to Kim alone, gives her hell for having gone to Don for the divorce. Not only does Julie work there, but Don is in love with Julie. Don could use this information against Doug when he puts the pieces together. Don arrives to ask for Brent Douglas' address. He wants to discuss a financial settlement for Kim with her husband. Doug tries to evade answering Don's questions about Brent Douglas. Finally however, he is forced to confess that he is Brent Douglas. Shocked, Don warns him he'd better level with Julie. Determined not to lose Julie no matter how things are messed up now, Doug gives her the diamond ring and asks her to wear it as a promise of their future marriage.

Episode # 2654. New Day. Julie enters Don's office, late, having been to see Amanda. It's a moment tinged with sadness, but primarily a happy one for Julie as she tells Don about her marriage proposal from Doug and that she intends to accept it. At Doug's Place, Doug is still smarting from finding out that he and Kim are still married. Kim tells him not to worry, she's found an attorney and will be filing for divorce. Hope doesn't help the situation any when she asks Doug if Kim can be her Mommy. Later, as they babysit Hope, Robert and Rebecca discuss the mysterious Kim while Kim shows up at Don Craig's office for her appointment. After a cat-like exchange with Linda, Kim discusses her divorce from Brent Douglas with Don, who finds Kim thoroughly enchanting. Over coffee in the hospital coffee shop, Doug tells Neil that he's asked Julie to marry him. Doug is worried about the effect all babies seem to have on Julie and tells Neil he wants no part in artificial insemination, nor the money he paid to arrange the adoption. Neil tells him the news that the mother wants to keep her baby after all, that Doug is off the hook. Later, Doug tells Rebecca that he's going to marry Julie and in doing so, jolts Rebecca into seeing that she can not live a lie as Bill and Laura did. Julie is hurt, but not too badly, when Hope rejects her in preference to Kim. She confronts Kim, telling her that Doug has asked her to marry him, that she intends to accept the proposal, and that Hope will have a new mother, and it isn't going to be Kim.

Kim says as far as Julie is concerned, perhaps she isn't ready for marriage, feeling that as his wife, Doug might decide it wasn't so bad after all, the relationship they had. Doug is a man emotionally sweating. When Julie tells Kim that Doug proposed, Kim pretends to be surprised, and wickedly suggests she marry him. Doug is torn to pieces over Julie's answer - wanting her to say yes to marriage, yet knowing he's in a bind if she does. Kim tosses him a kiss from the sidelines as he talks with Julie. Doug sweats bullets and Julie toys with him about her answer.
