@JAS0N47   Don't know if there is anything here that assists you, just figured I would share. Also, Quick question-- The Clyde Kusatsu character from 2003-- according to your website, the character's name is Nobu. Is this correct?  I ask because one of our posters, @janea4old sent transcripts:

DAYS episode of June 24, 2003 US (June 23 Canada).
Detailed recap of that episode and his scenes:
    http://tvmegasite.net/updates/days/2003/days-06-24-03.htm
(They mistakenly called him "NoBoo" in the recap. but the name is "Noru".)

Transcript (with character name spelled correctly):
    June 24, 2003 US (June 23 Canada).

Just double-checking in case the change is necessary, and you know DAYS better than anyone.  🙂

Thanks for the info!  Yes, "Days" has had hundreds and hundreds of uncredited principal guest actors, especially in the 1980s and 1990s when the credits wouldn't air for 8 weeks in a row, so a lot of guest actors are not in any record. As well as the thousands of uncredited U/5s through the past five decades. Didn't know Camryn Grimes was on the show as a child.

No apology necessary.  All input is helpful, and considering the condition of my papers (copied over and over --some in pencil; some with Diet Coke spills some with 3 a.m. and dozing off scribbles 🤣) I always like to double check everything.

I see this was figured out before I noticed the conversation!

It's interesting how Freddie Smith had less episodes than Kirsten Storms and Denise Alexander even though there were about 2,500 episodes separating him from his first episode and his final episode, and he had been on the show over the course of nine years.

Kirsten Storms appeared with a gap of just over 1,200 episodes between her first and last appearance, and just about five years on the show.

With Denise Alexander, things were clearly more balanced on the show during that era over her near seven year run. She had a gap of about 1,700 episodes between her first appearance and her last appearance.

Yes, shows you how big an impact the guarantee slashing had in the 2010's.

It’s pretty hard to take anything Corday says seriously, because in another part of the interview, he mentions Canada getting the show a day early. That hasn’t been true for about 10 years. Shouldn’t he know that?

He's the executive producer and owner of the show, so it would be good if he knew Canada stopped airing it a day ahead a decade ago!

Canadian TV is a fair bit less puritanical than the US. The CBC has long maintained a far more liberal attitude towards language and nudity compared to any American channel, and as far as I know, that extends to the other networks to varying degrees as well.

What about the longer length of the episodes in regards to Canada. Will Canada have to edit scenes to still be able to air the same amount of commercials as it does now?

  5. PAMELA KOSH

    IN LOVING MEMORY

    OCTOBER 1, 1928-MAY 4, 2022

    (Miss Peach, 1986-1987, 1991-1992)

    9d6559a08fa4f6067bafeaff91b834d4bda77cdc

Pamela Kosh, who played Miss Lavinia Peach on "Days of Our Lives" for 49 episodes in the late 1980's and early 1990's, passed away on May 4, 2022 at the age of 93.

Burbank California – Pamela Kosh Gilmore, 93, passed peacefully on May 4, 2022, at home near her loving husband of 53 years, Walter Gilmore Jr, DGA. Using her maiden name Kosh as her stage name, Pam was a beloved actor in sitcoms, dramas, commercials and daytime dramas. She was born October 1, 1928, in Crayford, Kent, England as the youngest of 6 children. She is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Rose Kosh, her brother Alfred and her 4 sisters Rose, Violet, Iris and Marguerite. She had no children but has many nieces and nephews in various places around the world who will miss her. Also, her many fans will be saddened to hear of our loss.

As a child, Pam lived through the German bombing of London. At an early age she aspired to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, but her family decided it would be more practical to send her to Bexleyheath School to learn the employable skills of a secretary. Though she hated the job it led her to jobs associated with scripts, publishing, and the theater. She joined the Austral Players and the Erith Playhouse and started her amateur career as an actor. As with all actors she continued working at a variety of jobs to support herself. Pam eventually landed a job with ITV Television. When Pam came here in 1960, ITV was able to secure a job in Television for her in New York.

After living and working in Florida, Pam drove cross country with friends to land in Hollywood. Over the next four years, Pam got an agent and was cast in the movie “Star” with Julie Andrews. This was the time she earned her Screen Actors Guild card.

She joined the Burbank Little Theater and there met her future husband, Walt. She and Walt together with a third partner, George Stratton, bought the oldest bowling alley in Burbank, complete with a house perched on top. After three years of hard work, they made the house livable and converted the building into The Golden Mall Playhouse. In this popular theater, they directed and produced many plays and showcases and also rented the building as location shoots for many major and minor television programs and movies. Henry Winkler auditioned for his role as Fonzie in the theater.

Pam played her roles with lovable and at times quirky character acting and she was much sought after for many popular television programs. Some of the more popular titles include The Gilmore Girls, the King of Queens, Frasier, Saved by the Bell, and even Star Trek: the Next Generation. She played in 49 episodes of Days of Our Lives. Her roles ranged from that of a charlady to two Queens of England, Elizabeth and Victoria. She enhanced all her roles with her own humanity

Pam brought joy and humor wherever she went, and she and Walt went very many places as they loved to cruise all over the world. She could enliven any gathering without needing to be the center of attention. She and Walt were very active in the Los Angeles Cinema Club and together won many awards for various videos they created together.

Pam’s remains will be interred at a private service.

  8. FROM THE VAULT: EPISODE # 3345: FEBRUARY 1, 1979

At David's Apartment, Stephanie covers her slip of calling Trish by name by saying she recognized Trish from her picture. Stephanie tells Trish she understand her marriage to David was one of convenience, and so she won't mind now that Stephanie and David are in love and want to get married as soon as David gets the divorce. This information saddens Trish.

At Marlena's Gatehouse, Samantha surprises and delights Marlena with her unexpected arrival. When Samantha brings Jerry Rhinehart in, Marlena is somewhat cool towards him. Jerry explains to Marlena that he was just doing his job in the custody case, and he's sorry about the Hortons. Marlena's attitude softens and she apologizes for her previous coolness. Marlena and Samantha fill one another in on what's been happening to them. As Marlena goes out of the room, Don enters and thinks Samantha is Marlena. Samantha goes along with it, teasing him when he doesn't approve of her short hair. When Marlena reenters, and starts giggling behind him, Don realizes he's been had. When Marlena comments to Don about how well Samantha seems to be doing, he says he can't help remembering what she did to them in the past, and he doubts if he will ever be able to forget. Marlena defends Samantha by saying that she was really sick then, and she doubts if Samantha will flip out again as long as she stays away from drugs and alcohol.

At Mary's Studio, Chris and Mary are discussing the fact that Chris and Bob have resolved the mess with Chuck Merrill finally. Chris mentions how strange it was that Stephanie knew about the forged contract, and then they dismiss it. Mary tells Chris she went to see Linda and while Bill explained Mary's conversation with Melissa, Mary still doesn't believe the amnesia bit. Mary, in a pensive mood, tells Chris she really doesn't know him, he's always been silent about the women he's been in love with. Chris mentions he was in Vietnam, but the experience was so painful, he doesn't want to think about it.

At Julie's Apartment, Hope comments to Doug and Julie on how nice it is for the three of them to be together for a change. After Hope leaves the room, Julie tells Doug how conscientious Steve has been in making amends for the fake antique boxes. They're in such a mellow mood that Doug decides not to go to work. Julie and Doug are cuddling on the couch, during a rare evening together, and Julie tells him she'd like to start a family and have a baby.

    A question regarding Susan Oliver.

How did viewers of the time regard her portrayal? She had big shoes to fill but was an accomplished actress.

Signing her was quite a coup for Days as she was a respected primetime actress.

What were the circumstances regarding her short stay?

Was there negative viewer reaction or did  Susan not adjust to daytime?

Sounds like she was out of money, the one year at Days helped fill her bank account, and then she asked to leave to work on a movie.  Just found these for you:

    THE FIRST "DAYS" CRITIC??

Vince Leonard, TV critic for The Pittsburgh Press who died in 2019, might have been the first ever TV critic hoping for the cancellation of "Days"...one week after it debuted! Here's his response to a fan, which appeared in the November 15, 1965 issue, who asked why "Moment of Truth" (the soap "Days" replaced) had been cancelled:

Two "Days" contract actors have New Year's Eve birthdays: Don Diamont (Carlo Forenza) and Margaret Mason (Linda Anderson). While there are five "Days" actors in total to have birthdays on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, no "Days" contract actors have ever been born on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.

  13. FROM THE VAULT: EPISODE # 3344...1/31/79

Outdoor Pay Phone: Alice phones Laura and tells her Trish is at the park with Scott and the sitter.

Park Playground: Trish is playing with Scott and can barely let him go when the sitter tells her he has to have his nap now. Alice approaches and Trish apologizes for not keeping their luncheon date, explaining she had to see Scotty. Alice and Trish have a talk and Trish tries to explain that she felt smothered and had to leave. Alice admits that she doesn't understand this, and Trish says she was afraid if she didn't get out fast, she'd never sing again. Now she realizes what she was looking for were all the wrong things, the really important things were right here. Trish asks Alice to talk to David about letting her see Scotty, and Alice says she will, but for Trish to be patient, it may take time.

Don's Office: Don tells Marlena that his mother wrote Donna, accepting Donna as her grandchild and inviting her to stay there while Don and Marlena are on their honeymoon. When she questions him about Donna, he says he knows she's still mourning the loss of the baby.

Section of Plane: Jerry Rhinehart sees Samantha and thinks she's Marlena until she explains they're twins. She and Jerry have a pleasant conversation and she tells him she's going to Salem to visit with Marlena now because she doesn't think she'll be able to attend the wedding.

Farm Kitchen: Hank asks Maggie why she's not with Mickey, and she tells him Mickey is so busy with work. She adds that while she loves Mickey, she doesn't know if they should stay married, they've become so estranged.

Don's Office: Mickey has returned from New York and Don tells him Trish is back. Mickey tells Don he wants to spend some time with Maggie at the farm, and Don says no problem.

David's Office: David tells Stephanie he was finally able to contact the sitter and everything is fine at home. However, now that Trish is back, he's uptight because he doesn't know what to expect from Trish. Stephanie suggests he get a court order restraining Trish from seeing Scott, but David says he doesn't want to hurt her.

Don/Mickey's Office: Mickey calls Maggie to tell her he's coming down tomorrow. Mike stops by and asks Mickey for advice about buying a house. When Mickey asks him if he's sure he can afford house payments, Mike tells him he's going to get a second job. He's going to quit school at night because it's more important for him to give Margo her house and garden as he had promised he'd do.

David's Apartment: As Stephanie is preparing dinner for David, Trish rings the bell. In her surprise at seeing Trish, Stephanie calls her by name and Trish asks how she knows who she is.
