  1. Sydney Penny, wasnt she connected to Lorenzo Lamas's character? I want to say he was a fireman. How about that one actress from Saved by the Bell who briefly had a role on the show. Speaking of Cowboys, the actor who played Kirk on ATWT played a character who was a cowboy and was briefly involved with Holly (GL). Also, J Chamberlain was a big dud, like many of the Chris Hughes on ATWT. Also on GL-- the last Dylan and Alan-Michael, espescially AM who was de-aged and paired with Marina, the woman he thought might've been his child back in the day.
  2. Speaking of Sebastian on GL, didn't he give Michelle a mysterious coin-- a plot thread that went absolutely nowhere. Also, Zachary the Angel seemed to have his storyline wrapped up rather quickly. It seemed like they were going to delve deeper into a connection with Meta.
  3. B&B Ricky Paul Goldin(sp) character. The soap mags made a big deal about him joining. Also, wasn't there a blonde receptionist at Forrester for awhile that flirted with Ridge and was a friend of Brooke? Sally 2's sister Coco and the Spectra 2.0 crew. Lorenzo Lamas's family. Chris Robinson as Taylor's dad. ATWT. Kin Shriner's character on ATWT. There was one ABC actor (GH?) who on ATWT was a cowboy and played the guitar?
  4. Guiding Light Sean (1998-99)- Reva's island buddy. They gave him a story about being framed for his wife's (fake) murder, they even tied Ben Warren into the plot. He then had a one-way crush on Cassie before quietly leaving town. Noah (2000?)- The character was originally created to be paired with Harley but they changed course and put him with Reva instead. He might have been a doctor. Was he Lizzie's cancer doctor? Anyway he was in the San Cristobel earthquake and I don't remember much else about him. Sebastian (2004)- already mentioned, but the whole plot with him holding Holly captive in San Domingo was cringe. Lainie Bauer (1987)- Johnny Bauer's kid sister and parents were duds. Catalina (2001?)- Migrant that Reva championed, later Tony's wife, killed by Romeo. Ruth (2000?)- Person in trouble that Reva championed, Thrown into a relationship with David- making Vicki Spaulding the spoiler. Harley's cellmate played by Linda Dano (2005)- I was under the impression she'd stick around a little, like Selena did. Also like Selena, she had a grown daughter which I was also sure was going to be a thing. Oh, well. As the World Turns had many in the late-1990s and 2000s. From Rose's daughter Jade, to Hal's daughter, to Holden and Molly's daughter, Bob's nephew Ryder, Marshall, Monti Sharp's character, the Kasnoff sister and her model friend, Mark Kasnoff (?), Bryant Montgomery, those two teen siblings from Montega.
  5. I remember there was talk on the old WoST boards about Stuart Damon (ex-Alan, GH) as an Ed Bauer recast, he ended up playing Juicy Janet's mobster "uncle" on ATWT instead.
  6. @CrazySexyQ Bradley Cole was let go, and the rabid RASSIE fans made a stink and the next EP/writers created Jeffrey for him and shoved him down our throats. McTaggart/Culliton phased out the mob and scaled back the island stuff- really fixing the show, but they brought in ConJob and all that improvement was tanked.
  7. the 1976 logo, aka "that thing with the dead leaves." lol. Wasn't it Gail Kobe, who was quoted saying that?
  8. A few of my favorite long crawls.. Fall 1989 "My Guiding Light" ver. 4 1982 Jack Urbont theme "Guiding Lightning"- credits recreation 1986 "My Guiding Light" ver. 2 1987 "My Guiding Light" ver. 3 w/ the glorious long version of the PGP animation 1983 "My Guiding Light" ver. 1
  9. 1985-87 1990, post-Reva 2005, Reva version These were left out of the compilation posted up thread
  10. Here's the SOD cover, celebrating GL's 60th.
  11. January 28, 1991. As Joshua Lewis prepared to leave town, he told his brother Billy, that Vanessa Chamberlain was going to be named CEO of Lewis Oil in his absence. Here he is saying farewell to Harley.
  12. @GL95 I think that's why I hated Carmen so much. The character was basically RR's Alan. Sociopath, who you really felt little to no remorse or sympathy for unlike Zas's Roger for example. They just come off one-dimensional and cartoonish.
  13. Gus was similar to Nick McHenry as the more regular Joe Spaulding who was raised "blue collar."
  14. Re: Hope. They should've snagged Robin Mattsen to reprise the role when she was on the East Coast for AMC. Sorry @alwaysAMC Alan-Michael was basically replaced by Gus, whose mom they should've made a factor instead of a dayplayer nun. Fans said at the time that Rita should've been his mom.
  15. Gotta love the disregard for continuity, iirc a large part of Jenna's backstory was that she had NO living family. 😆 That's why she bonded with Henry and Vanessa as a surrogate family.
  16. Does Reva even have a job in 1998? I believe her next job is her stint as a tv host? I remember she was advocating for the underprivileged like Ruth and later Catalina.
  17. @alwaysAMC i meant beth, not india. don't know why I typed it out that way. lol
  18. @alwaysAMC You're well into the GL baby craze period. The Pharley baby really put Harley on more of an even level with Beth. Do you like Phillip better with Harley or India? Have you warmed up any to Cassie and Hart? Other couplings that you're liking or potential couplings that intrigue you? The next week is really good, looking forward to your reaction.
  19. 4 things... Marah and Tony having hot sex Big mob gunfight. Romeo kills Catalina and frames Tony Mae the Cigarette girl/undercover cop. Labine has said that practically everything she pitched was turned down.
  20. with GL it was ridiculous, you'd have folks traveling back and forth from the island like it was the diner. Per the Island people, i think Olivia and Edmund assimilated the best. Especially once Alex returned and Edmund was basically her new warren/hawk or buzz type-task person. Michelle married to the mob would've been the perfect opportunity to bring in Uncle Mike from DC to crackdown on racketeering, but alas we GL fans couldn't have nice things. Worse than the mob and the island people was Jeffrey. As they said in mean girls, the producers tried to "make fetch happen." He was shoved down the audiences' throats so hard, it should've been criminal. Rumor was that they considered making him a Bauer, which I would've welcomed because if were stuck with him at least give us some lip service towards series lineage. Personally, he should've been Alan/Rita's son if anything. Makes you wonder where the show would've gone if the Dinah/Hart actors were convinced to stay or if the Teri/Annie character wasn't such a flop.
  21. @DeeVee only Carmen and maybe the grandma were really bad. Danny wanted to get out, Tony was a little more gray but his brother, Father Ray was generally portrayed positively. They gave up quickly on Pilar, which GL did a lot around that time. Here's a question, who did more damage to the DNA of GL- the mob or the Island people?
  22. I do remember them talking Dinah up for a while. I'm glad they chose Wendy, I don't know about Sydney's AMC work but I think she had an unimpressive stint on B&B.
  23. Re: rivalries. Rauch era really pushed Carmen v Michelle. Too bad Sandra Santiago went to the "Ron Raines" school of "whiplash curling." Couldn't stand her, the execution was poor. The Alex/Mindy feud was one of the show's better feuds, even despite the recastings.
  24. @alwaysAMC if you do go back, we'll fill you in on any loose threads for. IIRC, the first half of 1999 is really good. We actually get another location shoot during the Summer of '99, so try to stick around that long if you can.
