Don Hastings truly was hysterical on that set. He kept everyone laughing. I saw it first hand, twice, while visiting the set. A nice man. He kept everyone laughing during takes.

There is SO much video sitting out there. I’ve got stuff in my basement from the 70’s. Covid-19 might make me get down there and share some of it.

Geary wanted that Emmy! lol Great to see that Emmy Show again. Lisa Brown was beyond overjoyed. I still remember it.

I was getting annoyed at Alan Locher but now I do get that he was a publicist. Everything was always perfect all the time. As a publicist, you never talk controversy. We want to hear dirt, but the Locher Room is not where you’re gonna get it.

My first time visiting a soap set was at GL in 1981 and I met Charita. Lovely woman. They all adored her on that set. She had such an outgoing personality. What a great treat to see the 1982 Emmys where she got to present the Best Show Emmy.

Ironically, GL’s Emmy wins In 1982 were right when Marland quit. I noticed that he didn’t thank Allen Potter by name - he thanked the producers.

Thank you for posting that. I feel vindicated in that Nancy Curlee didn’t say that she left GL because of JFP. I recall reading posts on here stating that Nancy left because of JFP. Nancy never said that. Thanks for the confirmation.

No. No one ever thought about that. They are not hard to find on social media. The funniest thing would be to get an actual interview with Nancy Curlee where she would probably dispute everything said on here. She left because she was unhappy. #Yeahright

Everytime Erika Slezak won an Emmy (only 6 for Erika to Jill’s 11), Erika mentioned her husband and children (Brian, Michael, Amanda) I can still hear Erika always thanking them. Why wouldn’t Jill mention her daughter? She’s obviously very close to her.

Really good detectives, I tell ya. Poor Ellen Parker never had much of a career after GL. She did a play near where I live a few years back. The Playhouse sat 50 people. She must’ve made big bucks on that one!

Put out to pasture? lol I picture Jill spending her days counting her Emmys (11 of them) - no other EP has 11 emmys, counting her money, and being glad that she isn’t in the crapfest known as daytime. I’m certain that she doesn’t feel like she was put out to pasture. She sold her home a couple years ago for something like $2.4 million so she’s not hurting for money. She probably lives in an even bigger home now. I’m sure that JFP is just fine and sends her love. How could Kevin be let out of his contract in 1981 to do Animal House when Animal House was released in 1978?

I never missed Maureen. She really WAS boring, thus the focus group that lead to her killing.
