  1. It has taken 20 years to understand why AW was cancelled but I finally get it. The NUT Donna Was fighting to save AW. Mickey Dwyer Dobbin was given a choice - deal with Donna or cancel AW. I’d have made the same choice, Mickey.

So @ChrisB we disagree on some & yet we agree on some. It's true that in the beginning Wheeler's team wasn't ready with new writing to go with the new production model. But, they got that writing going & it was terrific. Kreizman, Gold, Chris Dunn, Jil Lorie hurst, Donna Swajeski, Karen Harris, they had a strong Writing team & they tackled great subjects. But, everything I know about what was going on behind the scenes is that they did not have time to prepare the physical side of the new production model & that they had to learn OJT. They learned how to do what they were doing as they rolled out the new production model. I blame CBS for that.

Good lord Donna. Karen Harris NEVER wrote for GL. Please stop posting incorrect info. Please. You embarrass yourself with all of the wrong facts.

  3. Good lord Donna. I will take JFP anyday over Ellen Wheeler!! Jill was at least a strong woman who made hard decisions, unpopular or not. Ellen Wheeler was an embarrassment to GL. Peapack was a worse decision over killing Maureen Bauer.  Peapack? I still shudder over that mess. No wonder the show was cancelled.

  4. Why is Valentini still employed? He’s burned out. I’m tired of the rumored excuse that “he manages the budget well”. Seriously - Frank Valentini is the ONLY person in this world who can manage a soap opera budget? Oh please.  I don’t buy it. But with these ratings, there won’t be a show or budget to manage much longer. I’m still abit mystified how these shows are surviving because all demos are so much lower than the shows that were cancelled in the last 10 years. Even GL had higher demos when they were cancelled than Y&R has today.
