Love Sheia, but she quickly became a cartoon after 1998. Her 2002 story was OK, so was her 2005 run on Y&R. Everything after that has been pretty stupid/meh. Again, I think Sheila's best plots were on Y&R(minus Phyliss look alike) but she had character development on B&B. It would be nice if they could send Sheila over to Y&R for a few months to mix things up, but I doubt the writing team is capable of making that interesting. Who knows, the Cameron Kirsten return was lightly riveting, so they might do Sheila some justice.

Jason and Britt stalls again. GH has a habit of slow burning relationships until one of the actors has to leave the show either temporarily or a long-term. Similar thing happened with Spencer and Trina.

To me 1989-2001 was solid. Really loved 1989-1993 and 1998-2001 especially. 94-97 was not as great but there were some bright spots like Matt Clark, early Phyliss, Victor's shooting, and the Nathan/Keesha affair.

I don't know exactly when the friendzoning happened. I think Jason catching Carly in bed with Sonny in 1999 solidified Jason's resistance to dating Carly. If I recall correctly, Carly was always upfront with Jason that AJ was Michael's dad. She sought Jason's help to claim he was the father to keep AJ, and the previous suspected baby daddy Tony Jones, from getting custody of Michael.

Jason: "why is it so hard for you to believe that I could love you and have room for somebody else". That was a telling statement in their relationship. As bad as the writing for Britt has been, she was correct in that Jason and Carly have an unhealthy codependent relationship. It would be one thing if Carly just kept Jason as a best friend, but she actively disrespects all of the women he is with (Sam, Britt, Elizabeth, Robin, not sure about Courtney). She didn't like his friend Brenda either. Jason needs to be better at setting boundaries with Carly. As for why they aren't together I suspect the character of Jason sees Carly as too much drama to date but enough to handle as a friend (despite the confusion of their recent marriage).

Agreed. Victor should be alone or be with Ashley or something. 90s Jack treated Nikki really good, too bad she just couldn't get it together with the addiction and pinning after Victor. "The mustache" helped ruin her relationship with Jack, Brad, and Joshua, then later Paul in 2009. Loved the flashback to 1995.

Im not talking about Britt being unbearable now. I'm saying that Carly was an obstacle to their relationship prior to both actors leaving, accordingly, the fizzling out of Jason and Britt can't solely be blamed on actor departures.

But having Jason marry Carly to have a supposedly strong mob image after Sonny "died" derailed Jason/Britt until both actors left/got fired. Just like Spencer and Trina, GH delayed the relationship too long until one of the actors had to leave.

I actually don't mind that GH isn't saturated with corny love scenes. I know this is a soap so they need the show's designated cops investigate everything. But in what world would a detective be tasked with investigating his own brother? Dante and especially Chase should have been recused from all of this a long time ago. How can Diane defend michael when she works at the same firm as Alexis? Chase is SIMPing hard over Willow.

I don't understand fan backlash against Drew, Willow and Michael. As I've said before, what else is the show really have going for it in their absence? This is what characters are supposed to do, drive conflict. Furthermore, characters who have done far or worse such as Sonny Carly and Jason were allowed to free room this year for decades so this is mild in comparison. But the show does need to invest in making other strong plots before their lead story becomes played out.

In response to everything written so far... will Vanessa ever return as Brenda? Is Jen still available to step in for Maxie like Theresa from Passions was doing for Sam? It's amazing to see Sonny, Jason or Carly not at the center of the show. For the moment Willow, Drew and Michael are the primary drivers. There was a time a few years ago when Sonny & them's show eating grip slipped, until Steve/Jason returned.

10 years is crazy! Billy needs a recast ASAP.

Lord, how Taylor fell off after the facelift. Someone mentioned Sam and Dante, totally agree. Could that be said of pairing Carly with Drew.? I think it was more so about wanting Cameron Mathison and Laura Wright to have screen time together after their steamy "What if" elevator encounter.

Sonny v Jax I don't consider that iconic. Though they were husband and wife, Alan vs Monica was great tv.

My YouTube recommended took me back to the reveal of Michael and Willow's affair at that Quartermaine family gathering. It then dawned on me that this story's been going since 2024! It's hard for me to think of another soap plot in recent years that's run this long without dragging. There's constant twists, turns and new characters added to the mix. This is the best plot GH has had in a while. All this came with the villainization of two previously liked characters, and I'm enjoying it.

Thank You!!!! Willow and Drew have activated half the show. They've generated action for Tracy, Curtis & Prosha, Trina & Kai, Michael, Alexis, Nina, Ava, etc... They even facilitated Erika Slezac's return to soaps. IMO Drew is a more effective umbrella villain than Sidwell or Cyrus. Seeing Willow go from cute and boring to this Brooke Logan-esq mess is fascinating. Making Drew an arrogant but comical bastard elevated the character from the Jason Morgan copy it was under Billy Miller (RIP) after Steve Burton returned. I like that Drew/Willow saga doesn't feel endlessly prolonged like the Sonny/Nixon Falls story. New twists keep getting added such as the custody battle, Sasha's gaslighting, Ronnie, and Drew's shooting. Maybe I'm in the minority but I found that to be too easy. For me finding out Willow shot Drew was like finding out the latest murder on the show was the product of Sidwell, or that Heather Webber was The Hook. Agreed. 2025 was a good year for GH.

OMG Willow shot Drew, how suspenceful🙃. I didn't expect all of this to come out today, I thought they would've waited until a Friday cliffhanger to reveal that Willow was the shooter.

What was the logic in having Nick drive Matt to the police instead of Victor's security detail or the police? It's either bad writing or deliberate writing to make us think these characters are idiots.

Best Show: GH (Drew/Michel/Willow, Ric vs Ava/Kristina/Alexis were my favorites). Runner up: Beyond the Gates Worst show: Y&R, just boring MVP: Drew on GH. The character's affair with Willow sparked a rivalry with Michael, a custody battle, a shooting mystery, a battle for control of the Quartermaune estate which involved Erika Slezak coming back to soaps, and drama with other characters like Curtis, Alexis, Martin Gray etc.
