  1. Even the dialogue is hinting a threesome between Nancy, Kris, and Ravi. LOL!

    From Friday's episode:

Ravi (to Kris): If Nancy finds out, she'll have us BOTH for breakfast.

Yeah, and I'm sure she'd ENJOY it too. There was another line that I'm forgetting.

LOL! at Mercedes sipping that girl's drink as she makes Malachy distract her.

  2. For real? :(

First Louise, now Mandy.....all my Hollyoaks babes are leaving. :(

As much as I love Roxanne McKee, I think Sarah is way more talented and has a better chance to make it big. For her sake, I hope she does. She has the talent and beauty. But selfishly, I want her on Hollyoaks.

We might see her back soon, she likes to come and go. She's been very loyal to Hollyoaks. I don't think she's looking for a long term committment to the show right now though. When she left the show originally in 2006, she had been there for a decade. Of course she came back for a short stint in 2007 and for six months in 2008. She's currently doing a play in London, she said she wants to try new things, but the door is always open for her return to Hollyoaks.

What about Tony? I hope he's not leaving.

No, Tony will be back soon. Nick Pickard is on a break and doing a play.

  3. Looks like Mandy isn't coming back. December was the end of Sarah Jayne Dunn's 6 month contract with Hollyoaks, and she says she has no plans to return as of now, but if the opportunity came back up later and with the right storyline, she would.

Hmm, I didn't know she had a bit part in The Dark Knight. I don't recall seeing her.

  4. At first, I was annoyed by Anita, but now I really like her. IMO, she's a very realistic teen character. She doesn't know where she fits in, and which crowd to follow (Lauren/Newt vs. Theresa). She's just doing her best to appease everyone, which will surely backfire on her soon.

I love the way Theresa quotes Mercedes whenever she told Anita to do something slutty. LOL!

  5. Digital Spy's last interview with Bryan Kirkwood. :(

    Bryan Kirkwood (Producer, Hollyoaks)

It came as a shock to viewers and cast alike when Hollyoaks producer Bryan Kirkwood announced his decision to step down from his role at the head of the soap after three years. His time with the show propelled the once-tiny Channel 4 soap from strength to strength, reaching its pinnacle at the British Soap Awards 2008, when Hollyoaks won more awards than any other soap. So how did he reach the decision to move on? And just what will Lucy Allan bring to the show? Here, DS chats to Bryan in his final interview as producer of Hollyoaks.

How did you reach the decision to leave?

"I always said that I'd only do three years in the job. It's a relentless job with no wrap party to look forward to! I'm incredibly pleased and proud with what we've all achieved at Lime Pictures in turning the show around. Three years was all I wanted to do before handing it over."

What was the defining moment during your time with Hollyoaks?

"I think the Soap Awards 2008 has to be it. I'm a bit embarrassed to keep banging on about that night, but it was special. People who work here felt that they'd been working in the shadow of other shows for years. For everyone in the building to celebrate being the most successful soap on TV was really important in consolidating all the hard work that we've put into the show."

What have you learned from your time heading up Hollyoaks?

"I've learned that there's no point in worrying about mistakes made because the speed at which we work means that there'll be another decision to mishandle along in three minutes' time! It's just important to learn from them. I've also discovered that it really is important to listen to the audience. The relationship that Hollyoaks built up with Digital Spy readers has proved to be extremely important. A programme as young and as forward thinking as Hollyoaks has proved that it's more important than ever to respond to the audience. I know that some other soap producers disagree with me and I totally respect them, but for me, it's a relationship that's worked incredibly well."

When you look back to when you joined, can you believe it's the same show?

"It's funny, really. I think I was lucky to be hopelessly naïve when I started. I didn't have the experience to worry about the decisions I was making - I just got on with it, thank God! I'm really pleased that I've achieved everything that I set out to do."

Are you happy leaving the show in Lucy Allan's hands?

"Lucy's brilliant and a more than capable producer. She puts everyone to shame when it comes to her boundless energy and capacity for hard work. She and I have worked so closely on storytelling over the past few years and that's the thing that I'm most confident in her about - her storytelling abilities will take the show from strength to strength. That's been the heart of Hollyoaks' turnaround, really - never to allow viewers to draw breath when it comes to storylines. Viewers are in for a real treat. Lime Pictures is a very strong and confident place. The writing, directing, acting and storytelling is second to none. Lucy will take it to the next level. It's definitely in safe hands."

What's the hardest thing about leaving Hollyoaks?

"It's really daft. The characters of Hollyoaks have lived in my head for the last three years and it's weird that someone else will be making decisions about them. Like Jacqui McQueen, for instance - she's mine! That's completely unreasonable and ridiculous, so I need to get a grip!"

What are you going to miss the most?

"I'll miss the fact that no two days are the same. It's been the most challenging and rewarding experience of my career."

What's going to be your swansong storyline?

"My storylines will be on screen until June, but then Lucy will have her finger prints all over them before they get to screen, so I can't say what they're going to turn out like, but I hope that my last storylines go out with a bang. It's quite interesting reading the rumours about my final storyline, though…"

Where do you go from here?

"I really don't know what I'm doing next. I've got some options with Lime Pictures. I'm waiting to see what happens next with them. I certainly need to take a break form soap for a while, though."

Were you happy with the McDean sunset ending?

"Never in the history of a gay love story featuring the characters of John Paul and Craig had there been so much expectation! Unbelievably, going on feedback from the forums, letters, cards and presents, it seems like we pulled it off. Both James and I received the most gorgeous albums full of letters and true life stories saying that McDean had inspired people's decision to come out. It really is touching. So a final thankyou for everyone who supported it. And I'd also like to say a special thanks to Beckz for the mug - I use it every day."

  6. Is she though? If so, then I wanted a death scene where we actually see Warren kill her. Since there was no death scene, I'm gonna choose to believe Louise is still alive, so there's a chance for her to return.

I guess it is still pretty open-ended, but I don't like Louise. :)

I was crushed too. They better be leaving for real. I hope it's just a long hiatus like the one Steph/Tom went on - I hope they'll be on more in 2009. I miss them.

They're not leaving for real, they'll be back in a few weeks. There's been no reports of any of those actors leaving the show.

I hope Anita has more scenes with Theresa.

Yeah, I think they'll be sharing more scenes in the coming year.

  7. Louise is dead. :)

Damn, Carmel and her big mouth telling Warren that Louise was pregnant. LOL!

I liked the scene of Jacqui seeing Mandy and Tony leave, she was crushed.

Is Anita crushing on Newt? That girl has no idea who she is.

LOL! at the McQueen's stealing all the food from the wedding.

  8. Alright I got a couple questions about Mandy that I've been meaning to ask.

    1) How old is Ella

    She'll be two in 2009.

    2) Who is her father

When Mandy returned briefly for a guest stint during Becca's funeral in 2007, she was pregnant and said the father was some guy named Mark. Ella was born when Mandy was off the show.

    3) Where the hell is she? and Why isn't she with Mandy?

There was one scene with Ella and Tony soon after Max's death last summer. However, like Charlie Dean, she's never seen, just mentioned.

Charlie is of course the child that was produced out of Justin and Becca's affair. And he was raised by Jake Dean. Apparently, Frankie has custody of him, but he's just mentioned by her and not seen. Though we did see him for the Christmas episode when he went over to the McQueen's with Frankie.
